Smart move by Ukraine.
The Ukranian Amb to the United Nations Sergiy Kyslytsya(sp) just spoke to the General Assembly and spared no words on who is responsible for the current war in Ukraine. The Amb began his talk by reading a screen shot of a Russian soldier's messages to his mother in Russia. This Russian soldier told his mother he was in Ukraine and the Russian military is shelling civilian sites and he is scared he will die - minutes later he was killed.
After reading the Russian soldier's communications with his mother, the Ukraine Amb asked the General Assembly if Russia should be a member of the U.N. given the principal of the U.N. Charter is to promote peace...the Amb then asked those present to raise their hands if they (their country) voted for Russia to be accepted into the U.N. - after a few seconds he put on his eyeglasses "in the event he would miss any raised hands" - no hands were raised.
Today's U.N. General Assembly session can be watched on C-SPAN.

Yup - it's always the little guy who gets hurt first.
According to CNBC, J.P. Morgan said financial disruptions will be "severe" in Russia - SWIFT removal for Russian banks was a major blow to their economy.
Central Bank of Russia said the stock market will be closed on Monday and it will announce whether it will reopen on Tuesday.

I heard there was a 3-hour delay today in opening the Russian stock market.
The U.N. should not forget this when Israel comes begging for help.
It was interesting - thanks.
A glut indeed...however one has to strike while the iron is hot (while you still have name recognition).
True - Jen won't find big bucks at NPR...but what she will find is space to talk, space to educate the public. But I get it, Jen and her husband are facing the cost of educating their children.
Maybe Jen will write a book first - it seems everybody in DC writes a book.
This IS a big deal!
It's amazing how quickly the colors blue & gold have become popular!
What a pathetically ignorant person - no self-awareness.
Jen is an excellent communicator - no surprise major news outlets are courting her. I'm sure Jen knows commercial news outlets will give her only 3 minutes to make her point, then they break for commercials.
If Jen calls me for advice I would suggest she go with NPR.
I'm not sure how well Barr's book will sell - who will buy it? Surely fans of TFG won't if he criticizes TFG and rational people know Barr was a puppet of TFG and will have no interest in his book.
As for Barr's reputation, he was once a highly regarded Repub attorney in DC and he threw that away when he became TFG's mouthpiece.
After four years of enabling the worst president in Am history, now Bill Barr wants to repair his reputation and make $$$.
UKRANIAN AND RUSSIAN NEGOTIATORS AGREE TO HOLD TALKS IN BELARUS
44 minutes ago
The office of Ukranian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on the Telegram app that a delegation of Ukranian government will meet Russian officials near Pripyat River in Belarus.
Russia had earlier proposed holding talks in Gomel, Belarus, a Belarusian city near the border with Ukraine.
The Ukranian response did not specify when the meeting would take place.

On what legal grounds?
RM breaks down Putin's need to conquer Ukraine...
That'll work!
TFG was (is?) on Putin's payroll.
Good - Ukranian military needs all the help they can get.

Nice - Ukraine's colors.
Many eyes were watching if China and India would abstain - they did and did not vote against the resolution. I hadn't given thought to the U.A.E.
Indeed.
HOW REPUBLICANS MOVED FROM REAGAN'S "EVIL EMPIRE" TO TRUMP'S PRAISE FOR PUTIN

Why? - those who complain but have no solutions amuse me.
The easiest thing to do is to criticize...Throwing spitballs without suggesting workable solution/s is a waste of everyone's time.
I see you edited your original post...To answer your latest question, YES.
I don't have a solution - yet you are quick to criticize those working on the problem. Gotcha.
This is an EU directive, not a U.S. directive...It's been reported Putin doesn't even have a bank account and relies on those he appoints to support him. Even so, the Russian economy will suffer and hopefully Russian citizens will turn on Putin.
And your solution for an INSTANT fix?
This will be more effective...
