Great to see and another great NEWS article for Pro and the Aug 27 /2011 Event!
http://www.bloodyelbow.com/2011/7/19/2282205/proelite-signs-fighters-adds-matchups-to-august-27th-card
Go ProElite
Definitely an interesting situation! Not good for Strikeforce! And IMO not good for UFC! Well will have see see where things land but I agree Contracts have to be playing into this.
It will be interesting to see how Pro plays all of this too!
Alot of talk around the changes at HBO and them finally getting into the MMA. Many are mentioning the UFC probably looking to get back into major discussions with them and it is widely known that they are if heavy negotiations with the TV Station G4 looking to purchase it.
I look at this as a Win Win Win for Pro who by the looks of it ARE Armed and Ready to become a top level competitor with an opening Event Card that blows everybody else out of the water!
If the UFC goes to HBO then ShowTime will without a doubt move into mass defence strategy with Pro as both a station competitor and Shareholder in Pro already.
If the UFC buys G4 and starts it’s own station, IMO opinion HBO and ShowTime will be both competing for Pro with IMO no near rival in sight. Additionally this will leave other stations such as it’s contract potentially still up for grabs.
If for the sake of argument the UFC were to stay the course with ShowTime( which nobody in their right mind believes will happen ) with only it’s Strikeforce product then HBO in my opinion will be looking to a top level competitor Partnership and again IMO Pro will stand alone in that regard.
The forth interesting piece of this is that if the UfC were going to stay he course with Showtime or take the options of going with the HBO or going to the G4 buy option they will still be dividing their interests which the UFC has never been interested in or for that matter good at and we only have to look at what they did with the World Fighting Alliance (WFA), WEC and Pride. And with this only as we all know be showcasing only there second tier product and reality TV type stuff as there is now way it will even dare compromise it’s own Pay Per View Shows.
This is truly a big WIN for Pro either way or in any case or scenario it is a Big World and only getting bigger at rates we can’t imagine as MMA continues to grow!
Go Proelite!
He may be still a Strikeforce Fighter but only for a total of 2 fights under the current contract.
Interesting other comments stated by Tim Burke from bloodyelbow.com "This is clearly a gigantic blow to the Grand Prix, and the promotion. Overeem is still their heavyweight champion, and that will have to be addressed as well. I just don't understand why they delayed Josh Barnett's quarter-final fight so they could find an appropriate venue for him, yet they won't accommodate Overeem at all?"
Typical of the Dana White Show while he pretends to be supporting both shows.
All good for Proelite!
Kendall Grove vs. Joe Riggs Rematch Likely for ProElite's August 27 Relaunch
By Mike Chiappetta
MMA Writer
Kendall Grove looks like he has a new home, and a new opponent.
The longtime UFC fighter, released after his second straight loss in the octagon, is close to finishing a deal to join the returning ProElite promotion, and is likely to face Joe Riggs in his return.
The news was passed along by ProElite vice president of fight operations T. Jay Thompson, who shared it on Monday's edition of The MMA Hour.
Grove (12-9, 1 no contest), had a five-year stretch in the UFC, going 7-6 in 13 fights under the promotion's banner. His run in the octagon was highlighted by wins over former middleweight champion Evan Tanner, as well as Alan Belcher and Goran Reljic.
The Hawaiian seems a natural fit for ProElite's return to event promotion, which will take place at Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu on August 27.
His opponent is most likely to be Riggs, also a former UFC competitor and a veteran of nearly 50 pro fights. He's 34-13 with one contest in his career. Thompson announced Riggs' signing on the show.
If the fight takes place, it will be a rematch of a May 2004 fight in Hawaii, which Riggs won via first round KO.
The August 27 ProElite return is also likely to feature Andrei Arlovski, debuting former NCAA heavyweight champion wrestler Mark Ellis, and BJ Penn's younger brother, Reagan Penn.

As also quoted by another poster "Vick would have a social media responsibility with the company, and the ease with which he works with MusclePharm executives would help determine whether or not the third year is picked up."
It sounds like he has made a phenomenal comeback as well which will contribute to his brand success and any brand he is associated with including Muscle Pharm once this Deal is closed.
"He resuscitated his career with a stellar season in 2010 for the Eagles, throwing for a career-high 3018 yards and running for another 676 in only 12 games. He made the Pro Bowl and was named the Comeback Player of the Year award by the AP and Sporting News."

Muscle Pharm Assault - Product Review
There are multiple pre-workout supplements on the market to date, but none of them are as strong and as full of ingredients as Muscle Pharm Assault.
What sets Muscle Pharm Assault apart from its competition is the amount of ingredients that this pre-workout supplement contains. For each full serving (which is considered to be a half of a scoop), you are in taking around 20,000 mgs of the Assault Proprietary Blend (If you go with the full scoop you are in taking 40,000 mgs). This blend is consists of their Muscle Explosion NO Matrix; a mixture of Beta-Alanine, L-Arginine, Citrulline Malate and Glycine. A Strength Domination and Recovery Matrix, Creapure (Creatine Monohydrate), CON-CRET Creatine and L-Glutamine. Mind Connection Matrix, which is an assortment of various stimulants, Taurine, Pyroglumatic Acid, L-Tyrosine, Medium Chain Triglycerides, Papain 1000, Caffeine, L-Aspartic Acid, Pyridoxine HCL, and Cyanocobalamin. Along with the final mix of other ingredients, Glucose Polymers, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Calcium Silicate, Malic Acid, Sucralose, Acesulfame Potassium, Salt, Magnesium Oxide, Calcium Phosphate, Potassium Chloride and FD&C Red #40.
In the Muscle Explosion NO Matrix, there is an overhaul of Beta-Alanine and L-Arginine, which as many of you might know, Beta-Alanine gives you the tingly feeling that you get when taking a NO product while L-Arginine is the ingredient that is necessary for production of proteins and allows the body to product nitric oxide. Nitric Oxide is an important for weight lifting as it allows for the blood vessels to relax, making the flow of blood, proteins and other nutrients to your muscles to become easier and quicker. This is essential in the process of weight lifting as with each rep you rip and tear your muscles apart, which is crucial for nutrients to reach these torn muscles faster to replenish both your system and strength. Along with the boost of L-Arginine, Assault contains 70mcg of Vitamin B-12 along with 13mg of Vitamin B-6 giving you a significant amount of energy that isn’t provided by the caffeine. Unlike products such as Jack3d, NO Xplode, NO Shotgun and C4 Extreme, which provide an individual with a caffeine based stimulant that gives you that jittery feeling in the gym, Muscle Pharm Assault packs the proprietary blend of Nitric Oxide boosters than will enhance your pump, giving you that rush feeling that you were looking for.
The creators of this product hit a homerun by snagging the CON-CRET Creatine blend for their Strength Domination and Recovery Matrix. CON-CRET has become an extremely well known name within the bodybuilding industry providing a 100% Natural Form of Creatine that doesn’t need loading before a lifting session. This form of Creatine also provides an benefit as there is no bloating which many other forms of Creatine cause after loading. As I have taken CON-CRET in the past, I can safely say that it was one of the purest and beneficial Creatine formulas that I have taken, giving me a boost in strength but also muscle mass and definition. It provides an increased rate of cellular volume and easier take of nutrients into the bloodstream. This extra boost and top quality Creatine blend sets Assault apart from many competitors and will prove to be a selling point.
With the final matrix blend, the Mind Connection Matrix, Assault packs a punch with natural forms of energy in Taurine and L-Tyrosine but also providing a bit of caffeine to boot. For many this will provide that jittery and revved up feeling that you get from other pre-workout products. From my personal experience, a full-scoop of Assault, felt like it had the same amount of caffeine content as about a cup and a half of coffee, which to some might be too much but I felt it was just about right. Caffeine for the human body increases metabolism and allows for the burning of more calories during a workout. Muscle Pharm hit it off just right as there isn’t too much but not too little of Caffeine, Taurine and L-Tyrosine giving the user a perfect blend to get that energy you need for an extra pump in your lift.
As you can see this is an overload of very powerful and potent ingredients that Muscle Pharm Assault consists of. It is not for the feign of heart, rather this product contains ingredients for those who are looking for a boost to their workouts, that extra pump, intensity and strength to push through reps and sets, building solid muscle in return.
For being a weight lifter myself, I have to say that Muscle Pharm Assault is one of the most premier pre-workout products on the market, as I have tried numerous supplements and are a fan of many products. From NO Xplode to Jack3d, there have been no pre-workout formulas that compare to the amount of ingredients that this product contains. Muscle Pharm Assault has taken the bodybuilding scene by storm and it can be seen why as it provides many essential nutrients the body needs for an intense weight lifting session. For those who might question the amount of ingredients that this product provides, I say give it a shot, though you might seem like it is an overload, you always have the option to take half a scoop or even less depending on your preference. It provides a great pump without the crash afterwards and guaranteed along with the strength training, help and tracking of you JEFIT Workout Application, Muscle Pharm Assault will provide you with phenomenal muscle gains and strength.
As pre-workouts go, Muscle Pharm Assault is the current reigning king and it will be interesting to see where the company takes their blend to with their next release of the Assault Brand. I give this product the JEFIT Seal of Approval and my own personal recommendation for those seeking a great pump with results.
I give it a 9.5 out of 10

Dana White's mother compares him to Satan's spawn
A while back we compiled a collection of childhood pictures of Dana White that came from Dana's 'estranged' mother June White. How estranged could she be if she's sharing pictures of her son as a child and teen? Well, it turns out those pictures were just teasers for a book she's written about her son called 'Dana White: King of MMA.' If you think that sounds positive, well wait until you read what she has to say in the book:
Rosemary’s Baby came out in 1968. The movie starred Mia Farrow as a young woman who, by the end of the movie, has Satan’s child. Dana was born in 1969, shortly after this movie came out. One afternoon, when the nurses brought Dana to me for his feeding, thoughts of this movie came back me. I remembered how Mia Farrow was so sick through her pregnancy in the movie, just like I was. This was the first time Dana had opened his eyes while he was with me. When I looked into his eyes, I was taken aback by how black his eyes were. I had never seen anyone with eyes so black, especially a baby. That realization is etched in my mind as if I had stared into those eyes for the first time only yesterday. My family ancestry is Irish, and so we all have blue or green eyes. I could not tell where Dana’s pupils ended and where the color of the iris should have started. The effect was chilling, and I had the feeling of looking into soulless eyes. The experience was truly upsetting and worried me as to who, or what, he would grow up to be.
She also calls Dana 'egotistical, self-centered, arrogant, and cruel', compares him to Gollum from Lord of the Rings, and recounts the time he sent her a nasty email that almost gave her a stroke. That's just the stuff you can read in the sample chapter of the book. I've bought the whole thing and will be updating you all with the other fucked up stuff in the book, but perhaps without the standard glee we usually have sharing this kind of poop slinging. It's his freaking mom writing this shit, man. How messed up is that?

Muscle Pharm Recon - Product Review
The Good:
Reduces soreness after workout
More convenient than a protein shake
Has everything you could think of for recovery
The Bad:
Doesn't mix too well
Learn more about Recon here
If there’s only one supplement in the world you should take, it’s got to be protein – after all, you can’t build the house without the wood, bricks and concrete. But has anyone ever stopped to think why you supplement with protein? Why you chug down countless whey protein shakes? The answer is so the body can breakdown the protein and extract the constituency which is amino acids. So why not just take the aminos straight-up? Or better yet, if it’s post-workout, why not take it with a delivery agent, such as dextrose and Glucose Polymers? And for good measure, how about some beta-alanine thrown in to flush out lactid-acid, and some detoxifiers to clean-up the free-radicals created from the broken down muscle tissue? Muscle Pharm Recon, a “unique, high-performance POST-WORKOUT REFUEL, REPLENISH, REBUILD formula” was created to do all the things listed above. Though I’m not too crazy about its proprietary nature, it still does the job, which is to facilitate recovery and build muscle – pure and simple. From its taste, convenience, to its dynamic profile, Muscle Pharm Recon should make every one’s post-workout protein shake obsolete.
Video: Milos Sarcev on Aminos vs. Whey Protein
Profile/Recovery – 9.3
Muscle Pharm Recon doesn’t just cover the basics, it extends well beyond that. Containing no protein, it utilizes its constituency, the coveted BCAAS and EAAS. These ingredients are the ones that actually build muscle, and since there already broken down, they can be rapidly absorbed into the bloodstream for immediate repair. The formula also contains a “Carb Max Stage Delivery System” that utilizes simple carbohydrates to spike insulin levels, a “Recovery Accelerator” with L-Glutamine and L-Arginine, a “Muscle Extend Matrix” with Beta-alanine and Citrulline Malate, a “Anti-Stress & Adaptogen Matrix,” a “Muscle Detoxifier,” and finally a “Reload Matrix.” As you can see, there’s a lot in Recon, and truthfully, you could probably due without some of the ingredients. But never the less, the profile manages to be both dynamic and potent in its effects.
So how was the formula in action? Well, for starters, I would say my recovery time on Recon was literally cut in half. For example, if I trained legs on Tuesday, my legs would typically be sore up until Thursday or Friday, but this was not the case with Recon; I was fully 100% healed by Wednesday. Sometimes, if not a lot of the times, I wasn’t even sore the next day, which I definitely think could be attributed to Recon. After 16+ weeks of taking Recon, I can unequivocally say that Recon has had a profound influence on my training and recovery, a rare feat for an amino acid supplement.
Taste/Mixability - 8.6
Recon’s initial taste was a little grainy, but surprisingly pleasant for an amino acid supplement. It does, however, have somewhat of a strong aftertaste that will stay present in your mouth for quite some time. The mixability isn’t the best, typically requiring an extra swig, but it’s sufficient none the less.
Value - 8.7
Recon is priced at 38.99 for 30 servings. I only took Recon after my workouts, which is four times a week, so one bottle lasted nearly 8 weeks. This is a solid deal.
Final Thoughts
The days of chugging down a whey protein shake after a brutal workout are over for me. Muscle Pharm Recon’s comprehensive formula has everything I need and then some for optimal post-workout repair. If you’re looking for a high-quality, ultra potent recovery formula to take your training gains to the next level, Muscle Pharm Recon is by far your best option on the market.
Final Score: 9.0

ProElite Officially Announces Signings of Andrei Arlovski, Top Prospect Mark Ellis
ProElite, the recently relaunched fight promotion that will host its next show on August 27 in Hawaii, has officially announced its first two hires.
The signings are former UFC champion Andrei Arlovski and MMA newcomer Mark Ellis. The pair of athletes are both heavyweights, but at very different stages of their respective careers.
While Arlovski is a former champ, he's fallen on hard times lately and has not won a fight since an October 2008 knockout of Roy Nelson. Since then, he's lost four in a row, dropping fights to Sergei Kharitonov, Antonio Silva, Brett Rogers and Fedor Emelianenko.
Notably, three of those losses came via knockout.
Arlovksi's opponent has yet to be named.
Meanwhile, the 24-year-old Ellis will be making his MMA debut at the upcoming event. The 6-foot-5, 255-pounder was the 2009 NCAA Division I heavyweight wrestling champion while at the University of Missouri. He currently trains at the well-respected American Kickboxing Academy gym in San Jose, California, alongside other heavyweight notables like UFC champ Cain Velasquez and Strikeforce contender Daniel Cormier.
Ellis' opponent was also not announced, but a previous report by Hawaii's KHON television station said he would be facing former University of Hawaii linebacker Jake Heun, who is 1-0 as a pro.
Other signings and match announcements should start to roll in fast and furious. On Wednesday, MMA Fighting broke the news that Reagan Penn -- brother of two-time UFC champ BJ Penn -- has also signed with the promotion and is expected to debut on the upcoming show.
The event takes place at the Blaisdell Center in Honolulu.
