Do me a favor and instead of listing the Proposed sales could you please list the Form 4 actual sales that she has made because I don't recall seeing any? and hey I wouldn't fault her one bit for selling a little.
Thanks, I don't belong to that website.
Thanks

Your post is not about Perkinamine. Your post is about Perkinamine hydrochloride. Um let me see if I can put in your terms, Hydrochloric salts are most often referred to by using the name of the base, then simply tagging on hydrochloride or HCl. For example, while crack cocaine is the freebase of cocaine, the salt form is often referred to as cocaine HCl.
So I guess it is freebase Perkinamine (Cleaned up), Lol
Honestly I don’t know but I do think they crystalize it so perhaps it is relevant,
Perhaps buzzy can pull up the patent and scan it for hydrochloride
In any event they have received the patent on it.

There is an investor that used to work with Pop Goetz back in the day and is a chemist perhaps he will opine.
We've always surmised that Perkinamine was named after Willliam Henry Perkin because of his work and that perkinaimne is purple
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Henry_Perkin
Made sense to me I mean the most recent molecule is called Perkinamine indigo so I surmised that is it a little closer to blue than purple.

200k shares. I guess I'll be eating those words. It is what it is. I wonder who is buying them? The street or a private party?
Huh?
Here, this is what he was talking about. "The government can take patent rights, as long as they compensate for it. It is not dissimilar, in that sense, to notions of eminent domain." I remember in the past when asked about why Lightwave hadn’t entered into an agreement by now or something to that effect I was told that they were protecting the shareholders and didn't want to end up giving away the IP. As much money as the government prints I do not see any reason for them to intentionally steal something. Oh with this Colorado move it makes one wonder what that conversation with the governor was about a few months ago.
One would hope that yes we would be fairly compensated, we need to put our faith in the government and that they would do the right thing because basically we are powerless to change or even know what is going on. (Please, Don’t get political I had to erase that entire paragraph) I’ve always envisioned that someone like Northrop or a company like that would make a play for us, followed by an explanation down the road that it didn’t work and variations of this technology would end up in area 51 as someone eluded to the other day.
Once one begins to understand what an SLM operating 1 million times faster can do your mind can go crazy, I mean with Terry’s background in the NSA, an Admiral that was the Director of Space Information
Warfare, An executive V.P. of Corning, the guy that invented today Lithium Modulator what are they doing here, playing tidily winks. OK now you guys will hate me for this but remember the government basically gave, no in fact they paid a company to take Lumeras technology, get it? (That is the exact opposite of stealing technology).
Oh well some will think I’m crazy but as we reach the capacity for today’s technology there is no way that the fortune 500’s are going to let us control the timing for the roll out of next generation Spatial Light Modulators, Data Communications/Telecom Photonic Transceivers, Advanced Telecom Modulators, All Optical Switches and whatever in the heck the Major Microelectronics Customer/Large Scale System Suppliers (LSS's) are working on while Lil ol Lightwave works one or 2 iterations of molecules for our devices at a time, while making a half dozen bottles of perk a week (one for each), I don’t think so Spanky. Nor are they going to wait for us to convert an old unused DuPont facility.
Fred Leonberger, Joe Miller and this new cat have been there, done that quite a few times and know what they are doing, I’m still saying load up while there are shares at this price because they are still working on something, when the time is right we will see. And please if it goes down another penny or two, shoot even another dime don’t get all carried away thinking that you could buy very much at this price, the supply at this price has to run out sooner or later and then it will head up. That 50 k share offer at 75 cents that has been up for a week or so is highly, highly suspect and one hoping for it to go up would not do that, especially now that it works in a device that they just dropped it in. We may never know who or why they are doing what they are doing.
Good Luck Guys
X
That is a great question Wiseguy and honestly it was the first one that I asked Fred Jr. about 10 years ago when I was analyzing this investment. I was concerned because of the Aberdeen Proving Ground origin. Fred said that while it was possible he said that when they have done it in the past the companies were very well compensated. In today’s world though anything is possible. As for reversed engineering it they have always told me that it would be very, very difficult. I think that is why they are holding some trade secrets.
IMO there are different iterations of perk and you can use your imagination from there.
X
Walter, Proto, myself and a couple others are the only ones currently walking the line. Hey nothing said on here is going to change the science and other than bumming a few weak kneed panzys that claim to be long term investors, (unless the price drops) I don’t think that they will change anything. No X, Bad X, don’t explain the logical conclusion of a buyout, no “we want to hang in there forever”, uh, unless that means we will have ups and downs (during those we will yell, scream, stomp our feet and throw a temper tantrum) or if it does not proceed exactly according to plans or take longer than a few months.
LOL, I could not be more sure about how things are proceeding now, sorry if I’m optimistic have a wonderful day.
Can you believe that guy has worked for/with both Fred and Joe? Nice.
Gotta Run
X
Imo You shouldn't have sold. We'll see who is wrong. How about the new exec dir at opsis?
It certainly sounds like Perkinamine will be the enabling material for many devices going forward and there is no way that fortune 500’s will let Lil Ol LWLG call the shots (basically control/prioritize them), as partnerships are formed, big names become publicly associated with us, as SOH becomes the new buzz word, the share price will rise and at some point IMO we will be taken over (thank you very much) no doubt that the first and second quarter will certainly be exciting. Remember that in order to take advantage of Long Tem Cap Gains Most investors will want to be in this a full year before a buyout and I see that window closing soon. A Partnership within a month or two, I agree and as soon as one happens additional companies will step forward, then one of the big fish will gobble us up, it is the circle of life, enjoy the ride.
Have a Good Day
X
No reds it makes perfect sense, this is far and away larger than 2 guys remember that the Colorado Phd's n such working with our material now won't have to relocate, look at the partners.
The lab and chemists stay here, it is what it is, a done deal.
If you want something to look at check out Opsis and see what you can figure out.
I spent quite a few hours on it yesterday.
We Good
Oh I don’t how you guys do this every day it makes me crazy, but someone was talking the other day about how much Perk they make or where it goes or whatever, as information when I stopped in the lab unannounced probably about a year ago, there were between 4- 6 1” round bottles with about 1” high of perk sitting in front of the sputtering device. It doesn't mean anything draw you own conclusions, but even then it was going somewhere.
X
That magic assumption comes from past conversations with Fred, Bennett and Teng (back in the day), Miller, Turpin, Fasick, Eaton, Glasgow, oh on an outside level that Dow EO polymer uh, Dr. EO Polymer dude that I meet (and went back to China for money only to be shot down immediately here). So IMO yes it is magical and I think that many are misconstruing Z’s comment about not perfect on the plug and play modulator where they dropped in the perk and it worked. But just Like putting a carburetor on an engine or better yet pulling off the carburetor and replacing it with fuel injection, should the holes be bigger or smaller more pressure or less, at what octane etc. the device needs to be tuned. But the son of a gun ran when they put it on the street
I’m not sure what the “requisite time-frame” is, I think that as cheap as this is once more data becomes available we will be bought out or a partnership will be formed something to that effect. There is no way that corporate American is not going to at least take a token position here and with Leonberger, Miller and this new cat IMO we will begin to see partnerships formed, for either devices, an iteration of perk, material or something. As soon as one is formed others will follow and as soon as Hybrid silicon technology becomes a buzz word (it is starting) this will take off. Let us just hope that it takes off before partnerships are formed we can not control that but in todays world things can go viral in very, very short order.
X Keepin the Faith
Honestly there are so many words like assume (used 6 times) and proposed (used 8 times) whatever,,, I’m not sure what the enabling material is and if it is Gigs molecule as you are eluding to it can Not hold up to CMOS temperatures or Oxygen both of those details are conveniently omitted and while it works, it is not practical, (That is why I bet on the folks here, you have to admit that was the right call and I understand that you hate me for pointing that out 7 or 8 years ago). Most Devices have to come down to the $500 dollar Range, REMEMBER THAT. The bottom line is that their material has caused Gig to go from 60 Bucks a share down to less than 2 bucks a share and that is not and assumption it is a fact. I’m very content here, it looks like we have a large investor that is being forced to sell, it is not like they have any bad news, again it is what it is.
There are MANY devices and many, many requirements; I think that you are here because somehow you think that you can change the science. The fact is that Dalton and the U of W would not have given away that material and Lumera would not have literally paid Gig to take it if it were Viable, Gig is doing the best they can but that will not fix a flawed material (the orders for their materials/products are down 30% over the past year).
Very, Very soon (shoot I’ve been waiting 8 years) I think that it will become quite apparent what Lightwave has, the Perkinamine Platform will play out for another 8-20 years multiple, multiple devices and multiple uses. Good luck, other than perhaps convincing a bystander that something is wrong you will not change the science or the stability, cost, speed and versatility of Perkinamine platform. This is going to be HUGE and we WILL be bought out, mark my words, and I'm not saying tomorrow guys, but mark my words barring an insurmountable unforeseen problem and I have been assured that to date they do not have a large problem that they are aware of or somehow trying to hide.
X
Wow that IMEC presentation is something else! ! !
I don’t think that we should get into publicly posting the IME/IMEC ish that we figure out (keep digging and you'll figure out the partner). There are some pretty sharp characters on this board that have figured it out but there are also some that don’t know when to stop in contacting/posting/disclosing things as they figure them out, IMO some things we just need to keep to ourselves. Sometimes we as investors think that we figure something out and then somehow if it doesn’t turn out to be true or it takes longer than week to happen then we are disappointed for no reason. This whole internet bulletin board thing of dealing with anonyms folks can get dicey in trying to keep everyone on the same page. Honestly with this level of technology and the players that we have we have to put our faith in them that whey will make. If we think that we can put 2 + 2 together to figure out moves being made today when our leaders are working with technology levels two, three, four generations down the road it isn’t going to happen and we will draw the wrong conclusions.
Wow that IMEC presentation is something else! ! !
Perk is magic, we can now see why this is so complex.
X
I'm not a scientist but if you are loosing your shirt I'd say sell that way you will insure that you lost it. Off the cuff it looks to be 50% larger and uses twice as much voltage as what Lightaves first generation plug and play modulator.
This stuff is so complex there are so many variables who knows we need to put our faith in management.
Stay Tuned
X
Dog you are out of your league but keep studying this Second Oder EO polymer material. You'll see Super fast not pico but Fempto second. super cheap. Super Stable both photo and thermally. Joe miller saved Corning he's here, leonberger invented today's modulator and headed up m and a for Jdsu. Terry Turpin technical brains at Essex which was taken over by Northrop. They are all here. Good luck do your homework do your homework. If you have a question ask the board here and they will answer. Oh and the cherry on top of this is the third order properties. Light controlling light. X
Just called Steve and he picked up the Phone, OK Terry Turpin is actively in the game, I mean he is active (but really the man has been retired since he left Essex/Northorp) he is still working on devices and designs, he designs them and BNL builds them. Guys we are lucky to have the talent of him, Leonberger, Miller and On and On.
Please Stop Worrying guys.
X
I think we lost gates and I can understand why. Proto I'm with you I could post a hundred things in the past but in the last 18 months this company has turned 180 degrees. It is what it is. This certainly is not easy Good luck guys. X
OK now look guys we are ALL guilty of this (myself included). This is science that is way over the top next generation stuff and 8 years ago nobody could understand it. In order to explain it to the folks we needed to break it down and talk about it uses and why what is out there (Gig and the Zero degree lab stuff or chromophores that cannot hold up to oxygen etc.) why it does not work and the need for a stable, fast, cheap next generation chromphore. While all of that was and is true somehow this snowballed expectations into something fast and easy, I still believe that Lightwave is headed down a very viable path, as far as I know there are hurdles but not major hurdles. Were they close like a million times and goal posts moved YES, but remember just like the A.C./D.C. post Perk does not behave like the inorganics, Lightwave is able to change it up and modify it, this is Very Important to Understand. In fact didn’t they say they were going to do a run to create a new baseline to measure from, something to that effect? But some of the stuff that many have posted here has set expectations too high and IMO that is why many are bummed. Also realize that this has Military uses and the disclosure rules do not apply when it comes to homeland protection applications. It also appears that they have stumbled across something that they need a provisional patent on while holding IP close as a trade secret in other areas. It was 18 months ago when they changed direction, that is they went from making the molecule in dirty lab and sending it to a company or a university only to have them come back months later, you heard Miller (while rubbing his chin) now what was different 3 months ago, hmmm this will never work we need to control our own destiny. Just prior to that the shareholders revolted and we saw a change in management, the power changed on the board. Joe Miller then said stop trying to make material for others, clean up the lab, put in our own testing facilities and Drive this market, Z has executed and in 18 months woola we have the material working in a device. We put the LSS on hold to work on said devices now we now see Opsis and IMEC in the game as predicted by a few here (look how long that took, look how many naysayers……..) Any of you that were paying attention during that IME/Todd murder suicide investigation/trial (God Bless them, No Comment on the Trial and please let us not get into it on this board just review the evidence on the technology) I’m just saying that the evidence that was found on his lap top look at the time lines laid out for development, furthermore look at the level of,,, Ah Never mind.
OK guys if you think they are developing something where they can say, next Monday we will do this, Tuesday this that will happen, this company will do this, etc. The bottom line is that years ago we all knew we had an issue and addressed it, why you guys want to constantly want to go back over and over and over is beyond me. We the shareholders addressed the problem; and effected a change in management, and now (in 1.5 years) it is moving along Just As We All Hoped it would 8 years ago (when I made my initial bet). The Dow Optical Scientist dude that I spoke to years ago told me that we have the guy (Leonberger) that could call anyone including “the president” (his words not mine) for assistance if needed. IMO Miller or the new cat could do the same thing, Call me crazy, (at times I think that I am) but folks this isn’t tidly winks.
After moving the lab, getting the testing portion up, cleaning the Perk, making it reproducible and shedding the partners that were forcing them to chase their tail and - - - > They have just created a device a Device, a Frickin Device, that is Hugh, (please excuse them for not taking the first device and putting it out on the street) and some are disappointed because they are trying to improve the first iteration.
October the 14th
This was Toms expectations laid out for the call ““These initial results constitute a truly significant event for our Company as it proves that our materials can work in photonic devices. Importantly, this prototype represents a solid starting point from which we continue to improve performance characteristics. I look forward to updating everyone on this and other technological and business developments on a shareholder call we intend to have before the end of the year.”
How expectations morphed from that to uh (whatever some expected) I’m not sure.
Soon events will play out, I’m far and away more confident and certain now than ever, does this mean that the price will go up everyday or there won't be set backs? Heck no, the market will determine that and those want to sell shares now will get what they can get, remember if there is only a small percentage 1% more sellers than buyer it will head down, whatever, but I’m as certain as I can be that soon it will change and head north, it doesn’t matter because the only time I’ll sell is when I'm forced to, in a buyout (but hold on a minute if I'm boarded some day with nothing to do I might sell a few thousand shares to keep myself amused so don't get carried the frick away), some will shoot themselves Directly In the Foot Now then wonder what Happened (I did that one time myself but with a pellet gun) lol.
Please do not take this as gospel; anything could happen just once again laying it out there in black and white.
Have a good day,
X
I get emails from them threatening to pull out my finger nails when they delete mine, check your mail.
Olson was Premature, I'm pretty sure that he was Smitty's buddy.
Z said that they are hitting up customers now and we have 2 of the best in the country oops make that 3 with the new BOD member,
We have Leonberger , Siraj and Miller, when we have exactly the info that they need (which IMO we are so close) you will see some magic, I'll betcha. (And if we think they are going to tell us who's door they are knocking on, uh, I don't think so)
Oh and six I just found that email you sent me I do not have the inside email account I only have level II's cause I'm too cheap, but we are fine not sure about that move, shoot look how long it took to surface the Opsis thing that we all knew to be happening to surface. IMO there are going to be some very sorry folks, kinda funny they get the Perk to work in a device and many long timers are freaking out, I can not explain it but hey let them hand over their cheap shares.
X
It works.
Amen Bro, it is a glass half full or glass half empty thing, some very negative posters have infected this board so now many of the folks look for negative things to harp on, shoot we've waited about 8 years to get the perk cleaned, poled and on a working device, they did it and NOW some bitch and moan and kinda get off on trying to poke holes in it like they understand the ENTIRE picture, shoot I almost had to post my health records and family history yesterday for the last 5 generations or else I was somehow a bad guy or in some grand conspiracy,,,,, Lol I mean REALLY? I'm not sure how that happened (attitudes) but I called it a few months back, hey as long as one is buying it is all good.
Many here have turned into Gomez on the Adams family watching the ticker tape, every second, every second, every second, oh, Oh, Oh,,,,,,, Lol
X
1. Z said is it perfect, - NO
2. Process
The basis for this develop was that essentially the materials were successfully deposited, poled in these slot wave guides and then tested at high speeds. There are quite a few material parameters that have to be optimal to be a commercial success and in these slot guided modulators there is an extremely high field and other things like that, however we were pleased with the ability to use this kind of integrated approach with other “entities” < - - - if you will , - - - and see a successful Lightwave Logic based polymer system in a slot wave guide and modulate it that was a good initial success. (Stage I computer simulation stage II on a slide)
So they told us a couple weeks ago that they got it to work and some are looking for finished product out the door?????? WHAT? Think of this a drug in the pipe line and it just passed, I don;t know stage III.
Previously we have run silicon photonic results which efforts have resulted in the creation of multiple silicon organic photonic slot waveguides which will be the basis of our development device activity Q1, Q2 and looking forward. So what this means is that we have right now in-house not only the optical test garbled and other ways to test the device we have slot waveguides ready to be filled with our proprietary material systems and we’ll be using that information to drive our synthetic chemistry efforts as well as look at creating devices and their performance as we go through this development activity. We have already announced our proof of concept polymer slot guide wave modulator these initial results were very promising and they have definitively enhanced our chromophore development activity and program through Q4 2013.
We have new material systems that we are developing based on those results and these are slated for high power slot waveguide testing at CU boulder Q1 through Q2 2014 and of course beyond, based on those chips that we have already fabricated on previous foundry runs. The chromophore and the material development activity has advanced to what may be termed an integrated effort between both the U of Colorado and synthetic efforts back in the Delaware lab and that entirety is coming to what we call a “core molecule building approach”. - - -> So we base our material system on the chromophore that we have and then we have multiple variations that are being built onto the periphery of that common chromophore core. So we are able to leverage our IP and cover multiple devices with this approach.

We have recently achieved an exclusive option license rights to a proprietary transceiver design so that we can move forward to license and build those.
Compile addition specs in an operating device. Our recent results were obtained in a plug and play in a few chips they had, in order to take control of our destiny. We have receive a couple of silicon wafers that consist of hundreds of devices from IMEC (in Belgium) we will use these in compiling data and a second run is due in the spring. We are contracted with Opsys to do a third run that include a complete photonics device in July.
This is much more difficult than making ethanol but to bring this down to the lowest level they’ve got the car to run; now they need to find the right mixture. The device works but they are optimizing it, they’ve got a device to work but now they are optimizing it, the device works but they are optimizing it. I wonder who these new 3rd parties that remain (unnamed)? Some here think that we are playing checkers, no folks this is a 3 dimensional chess game. You will notice that Bintz emphasized “OTHERs” in discussions with a 3rd party and Z said “we are working a 3 way collaboration” I kinda GET IT.
I know you are reading all this info from universities, funny but when most commercial entities issue releases more than likely some are valid but I'M sure some or misleading. Lightwave is going after a couple more provisional patents, there is a reason for that, they have licensed a device, there is a reason for that, Opsis is in the game, (they relocated 3,000 miles) there is areason for that, but IMO more importantly IMEC’s in the game and they are no longer listed on Opsis's web site, there is a reason for that,,,, So who’s going to deliver Because There is reason for that. They put the LSS on hold, our choice; there is a reason for that. Hey if you want to wait until they announce a device and after announce a couple partnerships then I’d wait until then. The market prices things looking forward, Ah whatever, IMO many will never get it until it is too late or think that they have bought into a company selling widgets and not developing IP, Nanotechnology, Electrons to photons and ultimately Light switching Light, that is what I'm talking about.
This may get interesting as some self fulfilling proficiency's work there way out, I going to look into snagging more.
X
OK Verse it was 2 Year Ago I was structuring my estate oh that's right is was like 20 months ago, bad. I sold some for like some for $1.03 to $1.26, I proly paid twice that for them, who really cares? Oh OK that makes me a bad person, I'm not allowed to sell any even at a loss. Whatever Din, Din, gotta Run
X
They are all good questions Luck, this is quantum physics and I don’t think that there is person on the planet that can answer every one of them. I think that the material is purified but they basically tweak it after synthesis to match the device. As for the LSS back burner I think that many are totally misconstruing the reason for that. I am not worried, honest, if you guys think worrying is going to change something then keep worrying. I sent Z an email with everyone’s concerns he said that they are addressing it; I would expect that means a clarification PR shortly. Honestly I cannot believe that you guys want them to actually publicly disclose a frickin negotiation tactic, but I think that is what you want to see, it does not sound like a wise business move to me though. But hey I haven’t developed an all optic device from scratch before like many here apparently have. Sometimes we have to watch what we ask for because we just might get it.
I just hope that we do not shoot ourselves in the foot, I’m not going to elaborate.
X
OK you guys are getting ridiculous here, if you think I’m kidding or misleading, whatever you are out of your mind, shoot I sit down and type up a great post put my heart and soul into them then I’ll turn around and buy shares. If you think I’d EVER say anything to mislead anyone you’ve got the wrong guy, internet or no internet that is just not how I live my life, go ahead and believe who you like.
When I grow up I want to be a weather man, I've had a ruler on the deck since this morning and they called for 1" of snow, then they upped it to 1" -3" well the it is at 8", can you imagine if one of those guys was our CEO?
Too Funny
Good Luck

You guys are a trip, I mean really,,,,,, you actually care how I structure my life and I'm supposed to report in, Lol? Yes I put it in a Trust if you want you can check the county records I think final settlement was this year not sure what month. I can try to look around for the 500 share trade where I sold and bought back in and made like 200 bucks if you want me too. Lol
Oops you are correct it that was April of 2012 when I paid off the house, so not 2 years it was 20 months, I was just going from memory. Whatever, whatever, I don’t go back and check every little detail OK you are correct I was off by 4 months, hey I used keep a spread sheet back in the day, check these buys out, LOL

LOL it is what it is and life goes on, If I didn't park the dough here I'd just spend it.
Oh it looks like it was $1.61 when I did that spread sheet that is what that number in the middle is. The first is the shares and last was buy price, anyway,, whatever this is not some grand conspiracy as you may be trying to elude to.
I'm glad that you are out.

Good Luck Joe, Hopefully you made a decision that was the right one for you in your life at this point time, there is no right answer, she's fluid, it is what is it is.
As for the call, everyone needs to read what they said and wrote the day before the call and not the tone of voice, because IMO I think that both Z and Bintz had an off day (hey we all have them once in a while).
Good Luck Man, No hard feelings, it has been a long road.

On the one yard line? Absolutely, and why we are not above a dollar shoot 2 dollars is beyond me, now how long will it take for the investment community to understand the potential behind Silicon ORGANIC Hybrid technology is beyond me. You know what I found interesting to hear yesterday was the word “distrust” that is something that I’ve thought for a long time and IMO we have Schon at bell labs (Top 10 greatest hoaxes) and a certain unnamed professor here in the U.S. that directed money towards his chromophore (if not intentional then prematurely) along with all of the senior management in fortune 500’s that were burned over the years to thank for that.

"They are often cheap to manufacture too. But although signs of semiconductivity had been observed in a group of organic molecules called pentacenes, no one had been able to use them to build actual semiconducting devices,,,,," Well Lightwave just did it with Perkinamine!!!!!
For those who haven’t watched the video
I finally had a chance to listen to the call and I transcribed the majority of the call as I was listening. I do not see anything that bad, actually I see a ton going on so for what it is worth here are my efforts, print it out and read it in balck and white. I’m not proofing it so please excuse the typos.

We have taken a broad base of proprietary materials and strengthened our understanding of them and how to purify them and conducted rigorous testing but more importantly is the modulator that we’ve recently announced. This has now allowed us to really focus our efforts on that material; I’ll call it an enabling material for Multiple devices with potential commercial applications. I think that this is a huge step forward for the company and I cannot emphasize it enough, is it perfect no, but I’m telling you that getting our materials in a device is something that I’ve harped on and told you that I was expecting and it took time in getting the initial data/results is really big. We have already been making enhancements to that material and our material platforms the bottom line is that we are continually to improve our understands of how the lightwave material operates under device conditions and that is way different than testing on glass slides like before. In addition we have also designed some proprietary wave guide structures to use in future versions of these devices. Started the initial road show with stone gate securities we are focused on institution investors that look as small and microcap companies 4 of the 8 have asked for more info and will follow the company.
JM we have sufficient fund to finance through October of next year.

Delaware operations so the team to understand the synthetic routes and the synthetic routes that we have structured out there. So the team has very strong intellect and capacity to understand the synthetic routes and that is riding on the patents and the patent portfolio that we already have in place. We’ve taken that and are now generating material systems and the difference there is that now we have an entire system that goes into device structures and we will drive our chemistry based on the empirical results of those structures and move forward to improve the commercialization of each one of the multiple devices that we are looking to commercialize in the future. That is very strong paradigm and a way to run a synthetic effort and I want to say publicly I am extremely pleased with both the chemistry and the interaction of those chemists, there are multiple chemists working on any one synthesis and that is led by Sundar they have done a fantastic job out there in responding to information that comes in off of the devices structures. Along that route we have in process filing of 2 new provisional patents based on new and innovative ideas and are reviewing 2 and potentially more concepts for provisional patent process. Let me touch on something that defines our chemistry and that is the devices and the way that we are approaching that part of our business plan. On device review we announced a silicon organic hybrid structure modulator and the results on those initial devices. We have been continuing to review and understand the telecom modulator market and have some proprietary ideas there as well that we are pushing forward on. We have the continuing program with Bolder Nonlinear on the special light modulator and the applications for garbled recognition, feature recognition and other parallel optical computing concepts. To move beyond electrical switching the all optical switching process is being investigated primarily at the guided wave optics lab Alan Mickelson and further we are deeply involved in the transceiver and circuitry around organic silicon hybrid devices and garbled multiplexing all the other optical switching processes that could go on a single architecture as envisioned within the guided wave optics lab architectures.
Let’s drop down to a little more detail on each one of those and again I’m going to keep it a high level so I will try to be succinct but relatively brief.
In partnership with the university of Colorado we are developing a multi-channel and integrated very small nano photonic transceiver systems which is termed MIMS for application in data communication cloud computing and these types of activities. These systems consist of silicon photonic chips which once fabricated are to include non linear polymer infused into the slot wave guide and that in combination with multiplex, demultiplexers, germanium detectors and coupling devices which pull both information and potentially external light sources from the outside into the architecture and then the optical computing moves the information around these are key components for silicon based photonics transceivers.
In our high speed solution the silicon organic hybrid platform, we enable the multiplexing of hybrid silicon organic slot waveguides with the photonic silicon devices such as passive arda ring resonators these kind of device on a single chip, currently the intrinsic data rate of the modulation exceed 40 gig per second and that can be multiplexed in multiples 40, 80, 120 as high as you want to go within certain device budgets as far as phase shift. These are very sophisticated data communication transceiver circuits and we are moving forward and running through foundry runs to prove out the circuits, currently we have 2 MIMS optical switching circuits ongoing at CU. The first run is a proof of concept on an All Optical circuit design. This is expected to be available for testing late Q1, 2014, these circuits are enable by non-polymer modulators on this first run so we can test out these devices and use that as the baseline against the more high polymer slot loaded devices. The second run is going through the masking process right now and these will include the polymer loaded slot wave guide modulators and other circuits, we expect that this foundry run will be completed and we will be in the testing phase Late Q2 of 2014.
Previously we have run silicon photonic results which efforts have resulted in the creation of multiple silicon organic photonic slot waveguides which will be the basis of our development device activity Q1, Q2 and looking forward. So what this means that we have right now in-house not only the optical test garbled and other ways to test the device we have slot waveguides ready to be filled with our proprietary material systems and we’ll be using that information to drive our synthetic chemistry efforts as well as look at creating devices and their performance as we go through this development activity. We have already announced our proof of concept polymer slot guide wave modulator these initial results were very promising and they have definitively enhanced our chromophore development activity and program through Q4 2013. The basis for this develop was that essentially the materials were successfully deposited, poled in these slot wave guides and then tested at high speeds. There is a quite a few material parameters that have to be optimal to be a commercial success and these slot guided modulators there is extremely high field and other things like that however we were pleased with the ability to use this kind of integrated approach with other “entities” if you will and see a successful lightwave logic based polymer system in a slot wave guide and modulate it that was a good initial success.
We have new material systems that we are developing based on those results and these are slated for high power slot waveguide testing at CU boulder Q1 through Q2 2014 and of course beyond, based on those chips that we have already fabricated on previous foundry runs. The chromophore and the material development activity has advanced to what may be termed an integrated effort between both the U of Colorado and synthetic efforts back in the Delaware lab and that entirety is coming to what we call a core molecule building approach. So we base our material system on the chromophore that we have and then we have multiple variations that are being built onto the periphery of that common chromophore core. So we are able to leverage our IP and cover multipl devices with this approach.
Moving on to the Spatial Light Modulator program with an outside entity BNL and we are moving forward on what historically been called a Fourier transform based optical based computing modulator this has been useful for target and facial recognition and other esoteric and complicated computing activities, BNL systems is completing a feasibility study and now we are in the project design phase we will be developing a timeline further down the road.
On the telecommunication modulator front we have been recently reviewing and going though a second generation design for a unique modulator incorporating one of our newly developed electro optic polymer materials. We had a joint project review in November with Fred Leonberger, Michelson myself and OTHERs (emphasis on that word.) and out of this we’ve come up with a new innovative architecture reviewed it and decided to move the telecom modulator process down this path. There are certain underlying Garbled processes that enable these designs and we are currently reviewing that and bringing capacity online as quickly as possible for incorporation in this prototype development process. We anticipate that this capacity will come online shortly and we are excited to bring that into our potential commercial applications. As I touched on an All Optical Switch enables an optical signal to be switched optically rather than electrically and we are in development with that. Again with U of Colorado, they have a device running at CU to measure and optimize. We’ll start material trials in the new year and move forward and optimize materials against those results for the all optical switching parameters.

There are a couple other areas that we are working on and need updating. Potential Micro Electronics LSS as we have already said previously last year we meet most of their requirements however given the success that we have with our prototype we feel that it is more important to optimize our own device before re reengage in what I call a more significant way with the LSS. If feel very strongly that that puts us in a much stronger position of strength because now we will have a lot more concrete data and information and be able to engage in a much different way. However after saying that, the material enhancements that Lou just discussed are really geared to meeting this groups requirements. In addition we are working a 3 way collaboration with the University of Colorado and as you saw in the PR with these results with that 3rd party that provided the device to our test material we feel that this is very important because this group is very familiar with optical and photonic devices and they were able to do a plug and play with our material very quickly. Which is something that I wanted to , the modulation and the lower drive voltages we do not have it all nailed down but they did it quickly. One of the top priorities is to get revenue flow as soon as possible, I’ll be honest this has not progressed as quickly as I hoped and I discussed 2 approaches, a business combination and to apply for grants. Nothing worked out submitted to early before we had results oh except for a small Q1 grant from the air force.
Wait a minute a collaboration agreement that is still in the process, with Unnamed partner.
Currently going to other companies and government agencies for R & D effort.
Milestones and objectives for next year
Identify what additional resource requirements I’m pleased to announce that our R and D device and optical testing and headquarters is relocating to Colorado. Move will happen in February, lab will remain in Delaware.
Additional requirements from external partners, timeline to device, government resources, customer engagement program.
Z travels a lot and said that so far they not willing to put polymer materials as part of their timelines, perfecting our material is important. Even though there is engrained distrust in the industry,,,,, we believe that we have a superior viable commercial material. Multiple provisional patents will be filed.
The Q and A Portion was LAME
They needed to answer the revenue device potential, with a potential in the Billions.
Why stay invested? They just proved that the material operating in a device and we have a chromophore that will enable true >20Gig modulation that will enable many next generation devices.
I’m tired of typing…. I don’t really see anything bad but I think that the timelines for some of the investors do not match with expectations, It is what it is I guess, I’m still saying that this has a huge potential and we will see a fortune 500 get in the game with this shoot hopefully they will buy us out so I don't have to listen to the moaning.
Oh I just had a thought for those longs that are Eligible because of the sell off you may want to think about rolling some or all shares into a conventional Ira into a Roth if you have the money pay the tax. Good luck honestly I'm quite amused at this sell off. I'm long been through this so many times before it is what it. X
Nice move I could only listen for a few minutes lots of good info. IMO this is emotional selling. They listened to how they said it and not what they said. Any who's Gonna b some sorry folks. Z said something about no quite ready to announce. That is all I needed to ihere. When they is ready we'll be a Rollin. Good for the buyers today x
Provisional patents and many are bummed? Folks they are breaking new ground and protecting what they are discovering without making it public (YET), and ah never mind. Proto IMO they are fine and I’m not talking about you, it will be interesting to watch this play out though, See who sells, see who doesn’t, see who sells then figures it out and gets back in.
See Ya
X
Not up yet so I won’t have time until tonight but I’ve have to tell you after reading some of the posts wow there are some bummed out investors. As for explaining everything in black and white Proto nope I cannot do it, it is too hard to point the folks in a direction and for them to get it, but it looks like the call confirms what quite a few of us had figured out. Oh OK, here, let me just throw this out there. Originally Opsys had 2 foundries listed, IME and IMEC, so again did they say IMEC, you will notice that IMEC (as of about a year ago) is no longer listed on the Opsys web site as a foundry, what is up with that, where is Hochberg working? If he is working there, then um.
This roll out/chess game is way, way out of my league, we have Leonberger, Miller and this new guy Siraj advising the company, the bottom line is that none of them would be here if there was nothing to this. You heard Joe Miller, “we get a device we can drive the market”, and news of the first device just hit the street and is public (and there will be more to follow I’m sure), remember you do not drive from the back seat.
I didn’t hear the call so I cannot talk but I’m not going to let it bring me down, on about my merry way for the day.
For you gun lovers we played a new game at the cabin, silhouette targets n beer cans, holstered pistol, while walking the entire time (2 steps forward, 2 to the right, 4 to the left, 2 steps forward etc. lol crazy) double tap the target followed by one to the beer can, then back to the target, talk about impossible but it is fun, Verse try it the next time you are in the woods (because the range will have none of it).
X
Very Nice, Got it, Well I think we called that one. No time to get into it, but Yup that answers that. So we stopped shipping Perk to the LSS for the holidays, sounds like we may have gotten a boob job for the holidays, LOL well I guess we’ll see if anyone else wants to get under the covers with us I hope they don’t get jealous.
G Night, rest easy my friends
X
I didn’t have a chance to listen to the call if they post it by morning I’ll try to listen, with all the negativity lately I hate to take anyone’s word on anything. But are you telling me that they mentioned IMEC and are you telling me that they said the word Opsys? Yes or No Guys, If so that certainly splains something to me.
Honestly I didn’t expect any rock solid news of a deal just an update, I’ll have to listen to the “On Hold” thing to see what the context was.
X
Agreed Proto 5 years working and look at how many institutions and experts are working on this and still haven’t figured this out. Remember there is only one place to get Perk, I’m still saying that we will get bought out once more info and data is published by Lightwave. I think that Fred Leonberger and Joe Miller have been around the block a few times and will advise the company of the proper angle to proceed and that Z is smart enough to listen to them. The guys in the lab are still working this and honestly will be improving working this for the next 10 or 20 years. Hopefully they have a target in mind draw a line in the sand of say a 40 Gig Mod, partner up with someone who has done this and hit the market with a device while the lab cats keep working and modifying the perk for new uses.
Some here are so quick to criticize them, look at who is listed below as working this for 5 years with virtually unlimited funding and it certainly sounds like Lightwave is ahead of them with an answer and while not perfect they have got it to work. Remember again that the only ones that have access to Perk is a limited number of researchers And anyone that does not have access to Perk has numerous reasons (in both academia and the business world) to try and stifle the Perkinamine platform. Some of the investors here will unwittingly play right into their hands.
Southampton University’s Zepler Institute last month hosted a conference to showcase the achievements of the UK Silicon Photonics (UKSP) R&D program, a five-year (2008-2013) project funded by the UK Government’s Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
The project, which was led by Prof Graham Reed, Head of the Zepler institute‘s Photonics, Systems, Circuits and Sensors Group, brought together the expertise of the universities of Southampton, St. Andrews, Surrey, Leeds, and Warwick as well as McMaster (Hamilton, Canada) and commercial partners, Qinetiq, initially, which was later replaced by PLX Technology, the industry project partner.
Prof. Lionel Kimerling (MIT, left) and Prof. Roel Baets (Ghent and IMEC).
Challenges and opportunities
There were also presentations by other experts from the wider silicon photonics community. Plenary speakers were Professor Lionel Kimerling (MIT) and Professor Roel Baets (Ghent and IMEC).
The UKSP consortium was represented by Southampton’s Reed, York’s Thomas Krauss, Leeds’ Rob Kelsall, Heriot-Watt’s Gerard Buller. Company input was provided by MIke Wale, Oclaro), and Mark Thompson of Silicon Quantum Photonics, Bristol.
Kimerling’s keynote presentation, “Scaling Functionality with Silicon Photonics: Achievement and Potential” considered the need for and methodology of achieving the necessary convergence between electronic and photonics technologies as well as be between hardware and software architectures.
US based semiconductor giants such as Intel and IBM have shown their commitment to the enormous potential of this technology with substantial investments. The sector has also seen large investment in the field by DARPA in the USA under its Electronic and Photonic Integrated Circuit (EPIC) initiative. Significant investment in the technology has also followed in Japan, Korea, and to a lesser extent in the European Union (especially at IMEC and LETI). The technology offers an opportunity to revolutionize a range of application areas by providing excellent performance at moderate cost.

Have a wonderful day and you are correct, I only lost $100k (actually $125k) 1000k that was a typo (shoot I'd have just said $1M). You see that is childish you knew exactly what I meant. And yes I did think that JM had to get out of the lead roll here and the only way to do it was change the only thing that we as shareholders can control, the BOD, (because yes I did meet with Smith but he did not agree) IMO to this day there was nothing wrong with that, JM did not fit the CEO roll, if we need to make another move that will happen but not until next summer, no need to work everyone up prematurely. But I certainly looks like they are finally doing what we all said had to happen so I'm not going continue down the criticism path. And yes I did request info one time and was told that would be fine but I'd have to sign and NDA and would not be able to buy any until what was revealed was no longer insider ish so I declined. They have set up an independent board if you want to meet with them. I don't not now anyhow, so let us try to give this constant,,,,, ah never mind.
Whatever Dude, Whatever.
Headin north where the buffalo roam, oh and you can smoke in the bar if you want, Lol
And dude I offered to meet with you a couple times so um. Hey What can I say I'm an honest guy that doesn't take shots from the sideline to score points, I lay it out there. Let us keep this on business level and not act like politicians, we are both here to make money, I for the world just can not figure out how complaining everyday is going to make one feel better, or further one towards the goals of helping both the company and ultimately oneself.
My goal is to split by 4:00 AM
