will 39.99 be the new price for all ActiPatches? That is not a good price point to break into the US market. Fine for Dr Scholls, their stuff is always high priced, but for the average person 29.99 was high enough. I just bought one on Amazon for 29.99 recently, now there aren't as many there now. I better buy up the cheap ones.
Thanks for the color ChinaCat. Anything to add on rollouts for other indications?
Are you being reimbursed for ActiPatch in Sweden by it's health service?
The question of reimbursement is not clear. The Distributor believes they will have reimbursement in September.
With the NHS covering ActiPatch, do physicians even know it exists to prescribe it?
We have stopped over-the-counter sales and we are focused on organizing detailing of the physicians.
Is there going to be a rollout for ActiPatch for joint replacement in Germany?
Yes and all of the other B. Braun markets over time.
Any update on the rollout for spinal surgery?
No we are still working on the roll out of the hip and knee.
Are discussions with Dr Scholls still going on?
Yes we met last week and we are awaiting additional information on their requirements this week.
Are you contacting local newspapers and political writers? This is a national problem with an at home solution. Talking to reporters is free.
We made a major effort a few years ago. Believe we were ahead of our time. Currently we do not have the time. We will hire a PR firm once cash loosens up. We have a plan with a major hospital group to capture the press’ attention.
They may have a full year of NHS under their belts, but I don't think many physicians even know about ActiPatch. They will go after post surgical use in Germany and the other B Braun markets in the future. Until they have money to advertise and pay sales reps the other areas are mostly out of reach. Upfront money from Dr Scholls and some info on the cost benefit (since NHS) of ActiPatch would certainly help.
An email from Paul on Tuesday confirmed Dr Scholls is still in the works.

DaytimeL, The original 510k was a traditional and this is an added indication tacked on the to previous traditional one.
Sree Koneru--
The 510(k) that was filed does combine indications from the previous 510(k), which is why we are asking for "expanded" indications. The word "traditional" in the 510(k) is just to indicate the type of application prepared, as there are only three types. Seeking expanded indications automatically requires a "traditional" 510(k), since the other two types are for device modifications etc.
When did chinacat visit BIEL? Was it 2months ago? I think he said people fromBayer were there that day or the day before. On Tuesday I got a reply from Paul regarding my question about if Dr scholls talks were still going on, to which he replied,
Yes we met last week and we are awaiting additional information on their requirements this week.
If you or anyone else here that has biz experience, would you think they are still working on deal framework or does it seem to be more finishing detail work. I know there is very little to base it on, but would like to hear some thoughts.
Lol, Steve. I did email governor Hogan since they want to work on the opioid issue. The Problem is they just want to throw more money into the non-effective "solutions" that are failures all over the world. Too bad there isn't some gizmo that could be part of the solution.Paul did say they contacted the Gov, Lt Gov and Maryland biz development group. I sent the email in regards to this:
Maryland’s Opioid Operational Command Center Working with State Agencies and Local Jurisdictions to Combat Heroin and Opioid Epidemic
Alignment Ensures Engagement in Prevention, Enforcement, and Treatment Efforts
ANNAPOLIS, MD — In the months since Governor Larry Hogan declared a State of Emergency to combat the heroin and opioid crisis, the Opioid Operational Command Center has been working with Maryland state agencies and local jurisdictions to address the epidemic impacting communities across the state. Today, the Maryland Department of Health released its overdose data report for the first quarter of 2017, which showed that opioid-related deaths continue to climb.
“We continue to take an all-hands-on-deck approach to combat this deadly crisis. Our state agencies are aligned and all of Maryland’s local jurisdictions have formed their Opioid Intervention Teams – led by their health officers and emergency managers, they are fully engaged in our prevention and protection efforts,” said Clay Stamp, executive director of the Opioid Operational Command Center. “Each day, I am encouraged to see the momentum building throughout the state in our collective fight against this cruel, nationwide epidemic.”
Last month, the Opioid Operational Command Center, Department of Health, and the Governor’s Office of Crime Control & Prevention announced more than $22 million to fight the epidemic, with 80 percent going to Maryland’s 24 local jurisdictions and service providers to fund prevention, enforcement, and treatment efforts throughout the state, including:
$4 million total distributed to local Opioid Intervention Teams for each jurisdiction to determine how best to fight the heroin and opioid epidemic, which may expand on current prevention, enforcement, and treatment efforts.
$3.2 million to expand treatment beds statewide, as well as a tracking system – the Maryland Healthcare Commission will aid in expediting the certificate of need application process for treatment beds.
$2.7 million to improve access to naloxone statewide.
$1.6 million to expand use of peer recovery support specialists.
$1.4 million for a public awareness campaign to reduce stigma, increase patient-physician communication, and educate Maryland’s school children on the dangers posed by opioids, as well as additional support for local jurisdictions’ prevention efforts.
$700,000 to train community teams on overdose response and linking to treatment.
It says, "expand on current prevention", that is worse than useless as evidenced by the massive opioid epidemic. ActiPatch is a home grown, in their backyard part of the solution. As a politician,I'm sure Governor Hogan would want the national recognition for himself and the state of Maryland finding an answer to this worldwide problem. This is a perfect storm for the company to get involved here. Hell, the state should be giving BIEL grant money and tax breaks to get this to the public as quickly as possible.
Just need to get one news story out my ask slapp'n friend.

After earnings then hopefully general clearance. Maybe coverage in Sweden in September:
Are you being reimbursed for ActiPatch in Sweden by it's health service?
The question of reimbursement is not clear. The Distributor believes they will have reimbursement in September.
After that Dr Schools? Maybe?
Are discussions with Dr Scholls still going on?
Yes we met last week and we are awaiting additional information on their requirements this week.
In regards to Sweden.

That would be another government paying for or reimbursing a portion for Actipatdc.

my post was in regards to you saying things like, "..zero significance or movement on alternatives to opioid garbage"
Jay, In Andy's interview he mentioned the slowness in the B Braun program if memory serves. It may have been "live" for a while but nowhere near full tilt. That makes me have little hope for big B Braun sales this Q. Having said that, I will still be disappointed if there isn't an uptick in sales just from inventory build out from all our various channels.
BIEL should start in their home state. I posted this earlier.
BIEL should be banging down the Governor's door every day.
