Having a big 'greenday' (not the band) Friday, correlated with the PK market cap info is puzzling. Along with the momentary, now non-existent 0.0008 trade, I am not sure what plans are in the making on this one. Was that trade a mistake, now it looks obviously it was, but is that an indication of what is to come? Are we looking at the beginning of the end, keep in mind we still have the 27th hearing coming this week? This could be a big black eye for all of us. Scenario, from the hearing the ruling is we have to pay fines, Bill dilutes the stock to repay the initial investors, and what are we left with a few K @ .0008? This is a hard decision, or has the price been falling because he is already diluting in preparation of having the pay the fines, and we find out we do not owe anything, where will the price go then?

Your question about XLPI value compared with Global will have to wait until after the 27th, I'm concentrating on that right now. I have been thinking about that though.

Brazil switches from petrol to ethanol and saves billions as the US looks on

THE Brazilian economy has saved more than $70bn (£36.8bn, E54.8bn) from its decision to switch the country’s cars from petrol to ethanol made from sugar cane, according to consultancy Deloitte.

The soaring oil prices of the past two years have more than vindicated the country’s decision to push hard to make ethanol the dominant transportation fuel.

Along with 2m barrels of oil a day of new oil production, the growth in ethanol use means the country now has virtually no imported oil.

Given that ethanol is now 45% cheaper than petrol in Brazil, and that the revenues from sales all remain in the country, this will save the economy more than $20bn in 2006 alone, and has so far saved it an estimated $70bn in total.

Between 40% and 50% of the fuel Brazilians now put in their cars is ethanol, a development that has been made possible by the growth in “flexi-fuel” cars which can switch between petrol or ethanol depending on which fuel is available. The Brazilian success is pushing other countries to look more closely at ethanol production.

Professor Tom James at Deloitte told The Business: “They’ve been able to rebuild rural communities and saved billions of dollars. America’s watching very closely what’s happened to Brazil.”

Ethanol production is already a profitable business in the US. Ethanol made from corn has costed $1.20 a gallon over the past five years, while the average ethanol spot price has been $1.60 a gallon.

India and Brazil earlier this month agreed to cooperate on biofuels production, a deal which will lead to collaboration between Brazilian oil company Petrobras and India’s ONGC.

Turning over rural land to crops suitable for biofuels could help stop the migration of mainly young men to cities. He said: “In China and India you’ve got rural farming communities that are falling apart because there’s a shortage of male workers to farm the land.”

Cooper said India had 60m hectares of arable land that was being left idle.

Brazil, through Petrobras, is aiming to develop ethanol exports worth $3bn a year. To do this it wants to stimulate ethanol production in other countries so as to build a worldwide market.

Hey Red, if you are wher you are supposed to be, i.e. hanging out with the CEO, there should be plenty of military around to protect you and him.
