OR even none of the above.
And here I have been waiting for the print on the NYSE tape "THIS IS THE BOTTOM" .
Like the fortune teller said in the Ameritrade spot: "GEE I'M GOOD"
Management probably has mixed feelings about a stock price drop. Most upper management is relatively brand new (as Hector is) and option execution prices are computed from average stock price over some interval. They take a longer term view and "know" (as I do) that the stock price will be much higher in a few years; so it is actually in their interests to have the stock price stay relatively low now.
BTW I am typing away on a T'Bird powered device. I will probably upgrade when dual core is available in "Thin and Light".
I stand (or sit here typing away) corrected. AMD will probably have it for FX much earlier than the rest of the non-Opteron lines.
Watch....
Only the shadow knows if I am wrong.
[edit]Whether or not it would work is not going to be the issue. AMD will not introduce anything that is dual core below the level of the Opteron probably for some time. Opteron plugs into 940 and not 939. The issue will probably remain moot.
I am certain that it would work, however.
I believe that he already has. Read your quote slowly.
The real key as I have Gullibly surmised from my Travels is that the quality of life is what is important and not its length.
Yes...but, what does it mean: http://www.siliconinvestor.com/stocktalk/msg.gsp?msgid=20066251 ?
Good luck Paul.
I believe that you left out the main important factor. Let us call it numero ZERO.
0. The fact that this is AMD common that we are talking about.
AMD common carries a lot of baggage with it.
It may take Hector years to overcome Jerry's legacy.
...insult and patronize your (potential) customer. This should convince Dell to partner with AMD
Why not ? It has worked for delL on iTs potential customers.
To quote a great market sage, the one thing that we can be sure of is that the market will fluctuate.
Thankyou, I avoid posting to those kinds of posts and posters.
[edit]Jerry gave a "BUY" signal about a year and a half ago when he bought 300,000 shares for under $7/share increasing his holdings to over 500,000 shares in addition to about 5 million shares in options. Since then he has picked up "pocket money" with two 200,000 direct options related sales. Given his history of extremely propitiously timed sales and that he still holds essentially the same over 500,000 share position, I think that his "BUY" signal is still intact: http://www.nasdaq.com/asp/holdings.asp?mode=&kind=&symbol=AMD&symbol=&symbol=&sy...
Believe it...this is AMD.
any one with half a brain
Well, that eliminates ALL of the ANALysts.
Is this the low point of the day?
So far it would seem so. AMD green and intC red now.
There is no volume, however.
AND it would appear that they cannot even do it right yet.
METHINKS it is either a distinction without a difference or a difference without a distinction...das ist der frage.
I think that craiG barretT could use some additional copies of it.
Super post...I could not agree more.
AMD: A low-power Mobile Athlon 64 in the works
...The 2800+, 3000+, and 3200+ models are rated at a maximum thermal design power (TDP) of 62W, while the 2700+ posts just 35W. The minimum TDP (at 800 MHz) decreases from 13W to 12W. The core voltage shrinks from a range of 0.95V to 1.40V down to 0.90V to 1.20V.
For comparison, Intel lists an average TLD for its mobile Pentium 4 processor of 66.1W for the 2.66 GHz model and 68.4W for the 2.8 GHz model. The Centrino platform is rated at 24.5W for models with 1.5 GHz, 1.6 GHz, and 1.7 GHz
As the regular Mobile Athlon 64 2800+, the 2700+ is clocked at 1.6 GHz. A notable change however is that the new chip receives a L2 cache of only 512 KByte while the other processors offer 1024 KByte.
Analysts believe that a low-power chip for its higher performing product line might improve AMD's position in the market. "If you not just view the 64 bit feature of the processor, but see it as high performing chip, then AMD's move makes absolutely sense," said Dean McCarron, principal analyst with Mercury Research. "Customers in the higher segment are willing to pay a premium on low power consumption....

Attacking on all fronts.
inteL suffers profoundly from the NIH (Not Invented Here...so there is no way that it can be good or important) syndrome. This seems to be playing out very much to AMD's advantage.
Part of the reason that I am up to my eyeballs in AMD common.
YUP, It is a regular riddle wrapped in an enigma.
You should read this thread: http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=2765231
The announcement that we are all waiting for (at least I am) is for gatewaY to use AMD processors. I am betting on some Opterons in its Enterprise offerings.
They never were "ALL AMD". celeryoNs are nothing new to emachines. The 6809 is new and it is a killer AMD64 laptop.
I see nothing throughout the rest of the year that should cause a drag on earnings
AMD has proven in the past to be very resourceful at this.
That report should get him fired.
I wonder if all of the ANALysts have their downgrade reports in readiness. It looks like those reports are needed soon.
Composite volume is about 25%, relatively high.
Do note today's date. BTW, trading in AMD is somewhat feverish.
EK, T, Intc, and Int. Paper being dropped from the DOW today.
AIG, Verizon, AMD, and Pfizer being added to the DOW today.
China's first 64-bit PC, cooperatively produced by Tsinghua Unisplendour Corporation and Advanced Micro Devices, or AMD, will appear on the market Friday.

I just worry about all of that supply at $50/share.
