low volume still though but thats for months here now. there was no run up nore a real sell off, earnings will move the stock imo. maybe it hits 5 tomorrow or monday or ill take the loose for now. good luck. AEIS Advanced Energy Industries, I a small solar company did beat aswell.
The Sun Will Shine on Solar
Leading global consultant McKinsey published a report this month envisioning a sunny future for solar energy. Investors feel skittish about this space, considering the beating it has taken in recent years. Still, an upturn might yet reward those who choose to invest over a longer time horizon. Right now, solar is the kid no one wants to invite to the party, which is exactly why you should be considering it.
McKinsey's scenario takes into account falling photovoltaic, or PV, prices and diminishing subsidies, and still predicts doubled manufacturing capacity in the next three to five years, as well as a decline in underlying costs of up to 10% annually by 2020. Companies that provide innovative products in multiple regions while controlling their costs will likely benefit.
If you could use a bit of a primer on solar, have a look at my colleague Jeremy Bowman's excellent work. For our purposes here, note that the crystalline silicon PV cell is the type of solar cell that has historically dominated the market. We will also touch on emerging organic PV technologies, which are less efficient than crystalline silicon technologies, but also cost much less.
The McKinsey study anticipates particular growth opportunities in areas of the world that currently have no access to electric grids, such as in India and large swaths of Africa. If McKinsey is right, four companies across the crystalline silicon PV value chain look especially bright.
MEMC Electronic Materials (NYS: WFR) makes silicon wafers, and develops solar energy projects through its SunEdison subsidiary. MEMC is currently active across the U.S., Europe, and Asia, and is targeting new markets in South America, south and north Africa, and India. McKinsey identifies access to financing as a major barrier to adoption of solar systems, to which MEMC has a solution. In India, the company has partnered with such global financial institutions as the IFC to enable preapproved financing for residential and commercial systems.
Power-One (NAS: PWER) makes inverters for the renewable energy industry. That basically means that its products help manage and convert power. Power-One is active in North America, Europe, and Asia. The company has product lines specifically designed for off-grid areas. McKinsey projects success for creative collaborations across industries. As it happens, Power-One designs power system solutions for the telecommunications industry as well. Given the access telecoms already have to a broad customer base, this could offer promising opportunities.

Mixed Views On TripAdvisor's Q1 Earnings, Sales
When travel review service TripAdvisor issues its Q1 results Tuesday, investors will be looking to see if the company has been hurt by the slowdown affecting U.S. travel agencies.
The consensus estimate of 17 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters is for the provider of travel reviews and related content to post GAAP earnings of 29 cents a share on revenue of $174.4 million. Non-GAAP EPS is pegged at 33 cents.
TripAdvisor (TRIP) was spun off from Web travel company Expedia (EXPE) in an IPO in December.
TripAdvisor may face a slowdown in U.S. revenue growth that's affecting all U.S. online travel agencies, Piper Jaffray analyst Michael Olson said in an April 12 report. He expects the company's domestic revenue growth to slow from 15% year-on-year in Q4 to a 3% gain in Q1.
At the same time, TripAdvisor's U.S. traffic trend is relatively upbeat. Tracker ComScore says that U.S. visitors to TripAdvisor surged a robust 35% in Q1. This was higher than Priceline 's (PCLN) 34%, Expedia's 13% and Orbitz 's (OWW) 13% jumps.
Olson has a neutral rating on TripAdvisor with a target price of 30.
Nomura Equity Research analyst Brian Nowak upped his forward estimates and price target on TripAdvisor from 27.50 to 32 in early April on expectations of higher cost per click or CPC ad revenue in 2012. CPC makes up 73% of TripAdvisor's revenue. CPC is an online ad model used to direct traffic to websites, where advertisers pay website owners when an ad is clicked.
Nowak expects the company's CPC advertising to grow a relatively modest 10% in 2012 after surging 30.2% in 2011. He pegs TripAdvisor's overall revenue growth in 2012 at 19%, toward the top-end of TripAdvisor's current guidance.
Nowak has a neutral rating on TripAdvisor.
TripAdvisor shares tumbled over 15% in early February after the company reported Q4 results that missed earnings forecasts. It also issued a disappointing revenue outlook for the current year.

Furiex Confirms Takeda's Receipt of Complete Response Letter from the FDA for Alogliptin and Fixed-Dose Combination Alogliptin and Pioglitazone
MORRISVILLE, N.C., Apr 26, 2012 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Furiex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. FURX -6.09% today confirmed that Takeda Pharmaceutical Company Limited issued a news release reporting that Takeda has received a complete response letter from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding its new drug applications (NDAs) for alogliptin, and the fixed-dose combination therapy alogliptin and pioglitazone.
Takeda recently provided post-marketing data from outside the U.S. and has been in discussions with the FDA. The FDA has requested additional data, which Takeda believes it can supply from post-marketing data from outside the U.S., as well as data from its ongoing clinical trial program.
Takeda intends to immediately request a meeting with the FDA to determine the appropriate next steps and is committed to addressing outstanding issues.
"We are disappointed with the FDA decision," said June Almenoff, M.D., Ph.D., president and chief medical officer of Furiex. "Our partner Takeda has extensive Phase III data, including interim findings from a cardiovascular outcomes trial and we remain confident in the future potential of alogliptin and alogliptin/pioglitazone for the treatment of type 2 diabetes."
Currently, Furiex receives royalty payments from Takeda for the sale of these alogliptin products, trade names NESINA(R) and LIOVEL(R), in Japan.
About Type 2 Diabetes
Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes and has reached epidemic proportions globally. More than 23 million Americans currently live with the disease. Type 2 diabetes is a progressive and chronic condition, and patients should work with a health care professional to manage and monitor their disease. In addition to diet and exercise, patients often need to take multiple medications to help manage blood glucose. The global health care expenditures to treat and prevent diabetes and its complications were estimated at $376 billion in 2010. By 2030, this number is projected to exceed $490 billion

Furiex Announces that the European Commission Endorses Positive Opinion of Priligy™ for the On-Demand Treatment of Premature Ejaculation in all European Union Countries
MORRISVILLE, N.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Furiex Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: FURX - News) today announced that the European Commission endorsed the positive opinion adopted by the Committee for Human Medicinal Products (CHMP) on October 18, 2011 for Priligy™ (dapoxetine) 30 mg and 60 mg doses. Pending national approvals, the marketing authorization for the Priligy doses can be granted in the European Union Member States where the drug has not yet been approved, and also in Norway and Iceland. The indication for Priligy approved by the EC is the on-demand treatment of premature ejaculation in men between the ages of 18 and 64.
“We are pleased with the decision of the European Commission,” said June Almenoff, M.D., Ph.D., president and chief medical officer of Furiex. “This decision will make Priligy, the only approved medication for premature ejaculation, available to a wider market in the EU.”
About Premature Ejaculation
Premature ejaculation (PE) is a distressing sexual dysfunction that can be present from the first sexual encounter or can develop later in life. The condition consists of three major components: a short time to ejaculation, lack of ejaculatory control, and negative personal impact, including distress related to rapid ejaculation. A combination of physiological and psychological factors is believed to influence the mechanism of ejaculation. Research suggests serotonin plays a central role in the timing of ejaculation.
About Priligy
Priligy (dapoxetine) is a unique, short-acting, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) designed to be taken only when needed – one to three hours before sexual intercourse is anticipated – rather than every day. The drug is specifically developed for the on-demand treatment of PE and was extensively evaluated in five randomized, placebo-controlled Phase III clinical trials involving more than 6,000 men with PE and their partners. This is the largest and most comprehensive clinical trial program to date for a drug therapy to treat PE. Priligy is the first oral medication (tablet) to be approved for this condition in a growing number of countries around the world. Priligy is marketed by Janssen-Cilag, a division of Johnson & Johnson.

Don't Get Too Worked Up Over Power-One's Earnings
By Seth Jayson, The Motley Fool

Although business headlines still tout earnings numbers, many investors have moved past net earnings as a measure of a company's economic output. That's because earnings are very often less trustworthy than cash flow, since earnings are more open to manipulation based on dubious judgment calls.
Earnings' unreliability is one of the reasons Foolish investors often flip straight past the income statement to check the cash flow statement. In general, by taking a close look at the cash moving in and out of the business, you can better understand whether the last batch of earnings brought money into the company, or merely disguised a cash gusher with a pretty headline.
Calling all cash flows
When you are trying to buy the market's best stocks, it's worth checking up on your companies' free cash flow once a quarter or so, to see whether it bears any relationship to the net income in the headlines. That's what we do with this series. Today, we're checking in on Power-One (NAS: PWER) , whose recent revenue and earnings are plotted below.
All cash is not equal
Unfortunately, the cash flow statement isn't immune from nonsense, either. That's why it pays to take a close look at the components of cash flow from operations, to make sure that the cash flows are of high quality. What does that mean? To me, it means they need to be real and replicable in the upcoming quarters, rather than being offset by continual cash outflows that don't appear on the income statement (such as major capital expenditures).
For instance, cash flow based on cash net income and adjustments for non-cash income-statement expenses (like depreciation) is generally favorable. An increase in cash flow based on stiffing your suppliers (by increasing accounts payable for the short term) or shortchanging Uncle Sam on taxes will come back to bite investors later. The same goes for decreasing accounts receivable; this is good to see, but it's ordinary in recessionary times, and you can only increase collections so much. Finally, adding stock-based compensation expense back to cash flows is questionable when a company hands out a lot of equity to employees and uses cash in later periods to buy back those shares.
So how does the cash flow at Power-One look? Take a peek at the chart below, which flags questionable cash flow sources with a red bar.
Source: S&P Capital IQ. Data is current as of last fully reported fiscal quarter. Dollar values in millions. TTM = trailing 12 months.
When I say "questionable cash flow sources," I mean items such as changes in taxes payable, tax benefits from stock options, and asset sales, among others. That's not to say that companies booking these as sources of cash flow are weak, or are engaging in any sort of wrongdoing, or that everything that comes up questionable in my graph is automatically bad news. But whenever a company is getting more than, say, 10% of its cash from operations from these dubious sources, investors ought to make sure to refer to the filings and dig in.
Power-One's issue isn't questionable cash flow boosts, but items in that suspect group that reduced cash flow. Within the questionable cash flow figure -- here a negative-- plotted in the TTM period above, changes in taxes payable constituted the biggest reversal. Overall, the biggest drag on FCF also came from changes in taxes payable.
A Foolish final thought
Most investors don't keep tabs on their companies' cash flow. I think that's a mistake. If you take the time to read past the headlines and crack a filing now and then, you're in a much better position to spot potential trouble early. Better yet, you'll improve your odds of finding the underappreciated home-run stocks that provide the market's best returns.
