On the A/L did WMI list the 1.9 JPM paid as an asset? Wouldn't it be as FDIC said that it will be used to pay off their liabilities? so wouldn't that put them positive? Could be really wrong but wanted to see what you guys thought.
Is that right that today there wasn't any trades on CQ today?
I just tried looking up the 8-k to see if had been filed yet on the EDGAR site...there is nothing listed under Washington Mutual and up until today there was 1 file found on the 16th reguarding I think Tosca... anyone else want to see if the can get it to work? Maybe I am just putting it in wrong...

thanks for the post. seems like I may need to put some money in here to. Was going to throw a few dollars at LEHJQ but CQ sounds like it would end up better for me in the end. Obviously from my simple questions I am new to investing. Last question from the newb...how are the dividends calculated? off of the par value on the prospectus? current value? I didn't see a preferred liquidation on the prospectus as i did on the WAMPQ. What is the formula for this?
par value of $1.00(or pps today? or 50$ face)x5.94%/10??
So with this since it is cumulative they still are required to pay the dividends by the due dates correct? or since they are under ch11 protection do they not have to pay until they emerege?
How or when would we know if there was in fact a default event? would it be on the 8-k? Or it for sure did not happen because trading was not halted?
Well..I've lost a lot more to win a lot less at a casino so I might as well take the chance...
thanks Viva, your insite is always appreciated.
Viva any chance you can answer post 61 as well? Also not quite sure what the '66,000,000 Depositary Shares
Each Representing 1/100th of a Share of
7.95% Non-Cumulative Perpetual Preferred Stock, Series J
$25 Liquidation Preference per Depositary Share' means, 1/100th of a share of what? I thought this was for the J series.. IF it wasn't eveident before it is now...I'm a newbie.
Is this stock worth buying? I thought I read somewhere that they were planning on liquidating...any insite is appreciated.
Does anyone have a link to the prospectus? Or does anyone know if they have made any amendments to it? Does this have a preferred liquidation amount?
Thanks for the response WaS
Now I'm getting confused...So...
Any shares purchased post seizure are crap for a buyout/merger/FC but the ones I had prior are the ones that will be worth something in the event of any of the outcomes listed above?
So everyone adding really isn't going to contribute to any potential future wealth when this is all settled?
Does anyone have a link to share holders rights? or any link to back this up?
sorry new to this and wondering if adding was a mistake..
When will WMI have to have their 8-k out? By the 21st?

has anyone called these? Anything think they will answer about the 4.4b?
I posted this last night as well, was pretty late and didn't get much feedback but thought it may be relevent to your post and help give me some more insite... Did find out they did not pay the 12-15 dividends as they are under ch11 bk protection and won't have to pay them until they emerge.
post from last night:
According to the prospectus: http://www.secinfo.com/dr643.uCc.htm#1stPage
dividends ar due every March 15, June 15, September 15, and December 15 starting on March 15 2008. HOWEVER they are non-cumulative, which basically means they don't HAVE to pay them or at least if they elect not to pay them they do not owe them to the shareholders. Does anyone know if they paid the dividends due December 15th?
The prospectus says that the 7.75% is compounded annually based on the 'liquidation preference ($1,000 per share)'
If they did pay it does that mean they will be paying out $77.5 dollars per share in dividends divided by 4 for the 4 disbursments reguardless of the amount of time or price paid for each share??
help me if i am missing something...
Do you know if they paid their dividends due 12-15 or intend to pay their the next ones due 3-15? Sorry to ask again just hopin to see a little green at the end of the tunnel :)
Question??

where can i locate the prospectus? do you have a link?
so if there was a buyout wampq would be paid at face value regardless of what an investor bought in at?
This may be a stupid question...not the most experienced investor... Why do posters keep saying PQ at $1,000 a share? and mentioning full value? What is considered full value? what you bought in at? or the high in the past 52 weeks? Like I said stupid question, could never afford PQ's until their recent price so picked up 500. Now just have no clue what to expect and hoping for a little insite and hopefully get out of the red... Is there a site I could read up on this on?? Jerle any insite?
Well...I'm in, best case scenerio, I black out and make a lot of money doing it :)
I read this board every day and try to stay caught up on it, and I am pretty sure there are several references to preferreds per day and the other boards are dead. I have my majority stock in commons, I just want to have a back up to help recoup SOME of my losses should this not all turn out as we all hope, what happens to one of the securities will end up effecting us all anyway...
Do you know which of the preferreds is paid first? I am thinking of getting more today to. has anyone answered you which is better? WAHUQ or WAMPQ? Which pays the $1,000 a share?
this question may be stupid but, SHOULD wamu emerge from bk, would they be eligible for piece of the bailout pie?
I wasn't on here yesterday much, but I do remember reading smoething about Providian, one of Wamu's sister companies, being sold in error and having a worth of $6b. Was there anymore posting on it? or any new developments?
where on msn money do you tell it went up another 5% after hours? is there a free site that shows current orders?
this may be a stupid question...but this is the board on here i always read on here and seems to have the most postings that hold any merit.
I am newer to the stock market and have what i am sure is a stupid and just inexperienced question that isn't related to WAMUQ.
If i issued a limit sell order through etrade on one of my stocks and today it hit the target price (actually 2x the target and spiked all within 15 minutes) why would it not sell? Too short of a time above the target get it sold?
if preferreds are paid to full value first before the commons are you guys buying preferreds to help recoup losses?
