DK, I like Helen Hunt. Thought she was very good in... OH GOD ANOTHER BRAIN FART... Jack N Cuba Gooding and the DOG!!!!! You know the one that Jack was OCD and told the Hispanic Maid to "Go sell crazy somewhere else, we're all stocked up here. Oh yeah, I remember now,it's "As Good As It Gets". SH
Hey Bull, good to see you back.
***OT*** Film alert... Runaway Train on WGN 8:00 ET. Great movie!!!!! For more movie talk, join us on exhib right here on IHUB
****FILM ALERT***** Runaway Train on WGN 8:00 ET. GREAT MOVIE!!!! SH
Way to go SEVU!!!!!! Getting ready to do the Happy Dance again.
We'll look very strong now with REAL products and a REAL management TEAM. Proud of Rich today. Good job!!!!!! SH
You know who we forgot to mention????? Samuel L. Jackson!!!!!
Talk about a cameleon.
This being Black History Month, I would be remiss not to mention "Glory". What a tear jerker!!! It appeals women and children as well as being "a manly film" Denzel has another stellar performance in this one!!!!!! SH

Good question, FG. LOL.
****OT***** If you get tired on this thread and need a break, come join us for "Movie Talk" on Exhib. SH
Sophie's Choice was such an emotional film. I sob every time I watch it!!!! That was a great performance by Kevin Kline as well. Yes, I did see the Oscars the night that Life is Beautiful was awarded I believe best actor as well as director. Not sure. What a refreshing reaction by... It's a shame neither of us can remember his name. I'm going to make a special trip to Blockbusters so that this injustice can be righted. Good Night. SH
I don't know why I talk to you but... Links have been posted by BillB and I'm sure you've already read the documents anyway. My speculation is only in response to those that may assume that the investigation is directed towards misdeeds at SEVU. There is no clear evidence either way. This ismy last response to you on this matter. SH
Thank you thank you. Was it "Howard's End"???? SH
Hello Bill, I read them as well. I agree that wedo not know from these documents what the SEC is looking for. Could very well be an investigation into Market manipulation and naked shorting etc. G'night,SH
I meant to respond about the subtitled films I liked. There are many but two that come to mind are "Cries and Whispers" by Ingmar Bergman and "Life is Beautiful". It's a shame that people stay away from them. Once you get into the film you don't even notice that you're reading the dialog. Clarification on a favorite actor I should meant Tim Robbins, not Rollins. Later, SH
Yes the same fair in Largo. Been doing street theater there for nine years. DK mentioned that Erin Brochovich was sporting a shirt with "Seahags" on the back of it. Watched the movie tonight and sure enough, there it was. I mentioned that I found some parallels between the character and myself. TOO FUNNY that my alias was plastered on her back. Could synchronicity be once again at play. I was dubbed with the name many years ago while doing a promo for the festival aboard "The Empess Cruise Ship" I do a peasant character, as well as others. Annie B'eggs of Ayre is my peasant caracter's name. Anyway, Seahag has stuck and is very appropriate for me in more than one way. LOL.
If you like Redford's directing skills, then you must have really liked "A River Runs Through It". I believe he also directed "The Milagro Beanfield Wars".
The actors you have mentioned are also on my "favorites" list. Branaugh is really talented and I agree that "Henry V" was superb. I can't for the life of me remember his ex-wife's name but she is also brilliant. Help me out, please!!! She played the Hillary charecter in...jeez another brain warp you know what I'm talking about Travolta and Billy Bob Thorton. She also acted in and directed "Sence and Sensibility".
Loved sutherland in Daphne DeMorea's(I know I'm hacking up the spelling of this name too) "Don't Look Now" Talk about a scary film!! He was also very good in "Six Degrees of Separation"
Don't forget about the job Neuman did in the sequel to "The Hustler", "The Color of Money" That was one of the few sequels that I thought was as good as the first movie. Fishbourn is another great and overlooked actor. He was wonderfulin "Othello". Anyone that can pull Shakespeare off gets an A++++ fromme. Spencer is my youngest son's middle name... need I say more????
I think I neglected to mention Glenn Close in my list of favorites... "Dangerous Liasons"....WOW!!!! And then there's.... That's theproblem to this discussion... it can just go on and on and on. I'll save some for another post.
This is SO much more fun than the stock boards...I'll save that for tomarrow for in the words of Miss Scarlet,"Tomarrow is another day." LOL SH
DK, I have my suspicians about Frankng but since I have no proof I will not post them. I must say the people that I spoke with at the City of Treasure Island are not very happy about the link that he posted with their phone number and address. No, they are not happy about it at all. SH
How long do you think it will be before we see "The Dale Earnhart Story" ??? I wanted to rent "Heart Like a Wheel" after I met Shirley Muldowny at The Desoto Speedway Snow Bird Races. What an interesting woman. Not much of a racing fan but we went to watch a friend of ours do a demo down there. He holds the world record for the longest wheelie. The kids loved it. He comes out on the track with flames shooting out of pipesmounted on the front of his converted VW bus with a Chevy engine and proceeds to do a wheelie down the length of the track. Fun!!! Didn't care much for the drag racing but the exhibitions were impressive. They had jet trucks, I mean a semi, jet motorcycles and even a jetlimo called "Nitrofish" I bought one of their hats for fishing, it was WAY COOL. Later, SH
Dk, I don't consider myself to be an intellectual either, although I love hanging out with them. Always trying to learn. I haven't heard of "Pay it Forward" but will look for it. Is it on video yet. Am always looking for good movies. "Cool Habd Luke" is in my top ten. Saw it in highschool for the first time. They showed it in the auditorium for the entire school in 1973. My favorite westerns are "The Unforgiven" and a series produced for tv "The Lonesome Dove" WOW!!! Tommy Lee Jones, Robert Duval, and Danny Glover were the main characters. It's available on video so if you haven't seen you must rent it. As for favorite actors, I like Neuman but my favorites are Anthony Hopkins, Tim Rollins and Kevin Spacey. Merill Streep is miles ahead of her peers but I also really like Sally Fields and Susan Serandin.
Enders, I thought "Pulp Fiction" was GREAT. Was "Crouching Tiger" the movie I read that was produced for only $10 mil?? They said it was amazing that the film was made on that low budget, if it's the same film.
As far as cinematography goes, two of my favorites are "Barry Lindon" by Kubric and "The Black Stallion" by Copella. What a film!!!! I need to adopt some young children so I get exposed to more films geared to that age group. Some of them are wonderful. "Willow" (I think that's a George Lucas film) was another one that I watch over and over. I watch it every year in preparation for The Bay Area Renaissance Festival. I do street theater there. What fun!!!!!
So many movies, so little time.
Happy Viewing, SH
FG, you may need to repost that info a few times as Frankng, "honorable poster" seems to have disappeared from this thread. We want to be fair and reasonable here so we must make sure he gets the information. LOL SH
Ender,I'm surprised you liked "What Women Want", I thought it was "a chick flick" haven't seen it yet but probably will. Looks entertaining. Love Mel Gibson.
Thought Gladiator was good but not great. My son asked for the DVD for Chrismas.
Haven't seen the Clooney film either but also on my list. He seems to be growing as an actor. I first became aquainted with him on "ER". Love that show. One of the few primetime shows I watch. He was really good in "The Perfect Storm" good movie but could not go into the depths of Swordfishing or The Coastguard rescues that the book covered. I found the book fascinating esp about the rescues, those guys were real heroes, couldn't put the book down.
"Meet the Parents" was a riot but I thought "Analyze This" was even funnier.
Was somewhat disappointed with "Castaway" I can't remember the storyline after Hanks got off the island and I wasn't even drinking. I suppose I need to watch it again.
I can't believe you haven't seen "On the Waterfront". What a film!!!!
Have you seen "Being John Malcovich"??? Strange film. I liked it a lot. Malcovich is really a strange bird.
In my discussion of movies with another poster, I had mentioned I owed a late fee on "Mission to Mars". It was horrible. So bad that I had forgotten I had rented it and hence forgotten to return it. I mentioned that it reminded me of an Ed Wood's film. Was surprised that Tim Robbins and Gary Sinese had agreed to do the film. I suggested that perhaps they owed someone a HUGE favor. My son and I got several huge laughs over it. BTW if you haven't seen the movie "Ed Wood" bu Tim Burton, you should definitely rent it, talk about a hoot!!!!
Did you see "The Green Mile"??? I'm a Stephen King fan and thought they did a really good job with the film. Shawshank was another prison film of his that was really well done.
Much more to share but I'll give others a chance. Hope we can get some dialog going on this topic. I could talk about films for hours.
Maybe next time we can talk about some of the films that keep you guessing till the end such as "The Usual Suspects."
Thanks for your input, SH
***OT*** Movie talk on EXHIB thread here on IHUB. Anyone care to join in??? Thought it might be a fun diversion from this other stuff. SH
Another poster and I have been discussing movies. Thought it might be a fun topic. What are your favorite films and why did you like them? One of my all time favorites is "On the Waterfront" I love those films where "the little guy" stands up against evil and overcomes. SH
At the open house I was sitting in the front row and when Rich discussed the loss of their friendship, I saw him tearing up. I do some amateur theater and this is VERY difficult to do when acting. I think he he was sincerely hurt by the recent events at SEVU. SH
Day, how do you know this?? If it's true, it gives me one more reason to dislike our "honorable poster" as YIT is the one that reposted one of my posts here on RB in a manner that it was not intended. SH
Honorable poster Frankng. It seems that you have no answer to my questions. I will be here in the morning, eagerly awaiting your response. SH
Honorable poster, FrankNG, I am still waiting for the link that verifies that Mr. RM McBride has an alias of Bill Kane. If you cannot do this then I humbly suggest that you owe Mr McBride an apology for posting false information about him over the internet. If you are posting false information about Mr. McBride then it seems that you are subject to a lawsuit for slander/libel. Please clarify. SH
Frankng, "honorable poster", I'm still waiting for the link. It took me awhile but found post#18841 on RB from Fl Dept of Corrections. The only aliases I read from that document were Dick McBride, Rich McBride and Richard McBride. Where is the documentation to back up your claim that Rich used an alias of Bill Kane???? Kindly respond. SH
I did not call you a liar but the only aliases I saw were Rich and Richard etc. All McBrides. Could you post a link so I can verify this for myself please? Thanks SH
Gotin, what do we look under once we get to the board??? SH
Where did you see this?? The only official court document aliases I saw were Rich, Dick and Richard McBride. Do you have anything constructive to contribute here? You're really getting on my nerves. FG and IHUB Admin are being much too generous to you. SH
OT... TOO FUNNY DK.
I would think that zero visibility is the only time "the fish" would be more useful. Don't forget that SeaView was tested in the Everglades and performed well. With a 29,000k price difference, I can't imagine that PD's would purchase this over a SeaView camera unless they had to spend excess money so as not to lose it. SH
Frank, will you please give it a rest??? The Economic indictors relate to market conditions and ALL stocks. It's important that we have the most current info as it relates to the economy in general so as to understand the market. Skipover it if you're not interested. Many of us ARE interested and appreciate not having to look elsewhere. FG's posting it here saves much time and effort. SH
I don't get why they would pay out that kind of money for something like that when SeaView is a far superior product. What a bunch of morons.
I'm interested to find out the decision today about patient's rights to a video camera in nursing homes for prevention of abuse. I see no reason why this legislation should not pass. Many other states are watching Maryland. What an opportunity for Secureview!!!!! Can you imagine paying only $400. to ensure that your mother/father is not having the snot beaten out of them for wetting the bed??? Man there are some EVIL people out there. It's really sad that we have come to the point that we need security cameras in nursing homes so that our loved ones can die in peace. SH
Just finished watching channel 8's review of the yellow torpedo device called "the fish". It is nothing like the Seaview camera other than the housing. It is a sonar device. The pictures are really fuzzy. The cost to the Tampa PD, a measely $30,000. Seems like they would have saved a ton of money if they would have purchased the SEAVIEW camera. There was no comparison to the clarity of picture between the SEAVIEW and "the fish". SEAVIEW is by far superior to what Tampa is touting as a revolutionary tool in underwater crime detection. SH
I'll watch too. Usually watch their competitor, like the anchors better. Will post what I see. SH
Happy Valentine's Day to you, Dahlias!! No special plans but am hoping for a pretty bouquet of flowers to go with my beautifully remodeled home. The house turned out better than I expected. You MUST go to see your orchestra perform. They are AWESOME. The weather has finally gotten warm again here. Hope it lasts. This winter has been brutal. I'm sorry that all the folks that traveled here for the open house did not get the opportunity to experience the nice winter weather that we usually have. What a shame. Hugs and Kisses, SH
Big, I spoke with my broker and he confirmed that yes the transfer agent can block the sale of restricted shares indefinitely. That being said, it has not been his experience with those selling SEVU that this is occurring. He said most sales go through within one week. SH
Rich, I had a conversation with someone about this. They stated that their shares were being blocked, it was suggested that the transfer agent had the authority to stop the sale. Is this true??? SH
Dahlias, I don't know if you're still out there but I'll give it a try. I had the good fortune of attending a performance of the Cleveland Orchestra last weekend down in Sarasota. WOW!!!!
I didn't know how moving an orchestra could be. Our orchestra here in Tampa is very good but your orchestra is world class. The brass and woodwinds sections were about equal, BUT THE STRINGS!!!!!! They moved in unison as if they were one organism. Maestro Ling was at his best. He is our Music Director and your Resident Conductor. We'll be losing him in two years, too bad for us. They did an all Russian program. Petuscka(sp) Prokofiev's Violin Concerto 2 with an absolutely brilliant guest soloist and Tschaikofksy's Romeo and Juliet. (Forgive my butchering of the spelling but I'm too lazy today to hunt down the program) At any rate I was moved to tears. I'm really jealous that you live in such close proximity to this wonderful group of musicians. I wish someone local with deep pockets would come up with the money that is needed to support an orchestra of this caliber. Maybe a new mission for me????? Later, SH
OK, after leaving the meeting my comfort level was about an eight on a scale of one to ten.
Rich's attire, who really cares? Everyone else that attended was dressed casually. IT WAS AN INFORMAL MEETING.
Bill Branum and Madhatter asked the tough questions and have already addressed them here.
Re: the UL listings. According to Rich THEY HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE #'s. They don't have to print them on the cameras until they are shipping mass quantities to big companies.
I did not see Larry Hoffman there, however I assumed he was en route to DC for a meeting with the DOD that was scheduled.
Was not happy with the CFO answer. We really need one. IMO part of the problems with SEVU is that he is wearing too many hats. Hopefully that will be resolved soon. He liked the person they wanted to hire, he said he fit in well with the management of SEVU, however, due to personal problems..... they may still hire him but are continuing to look for someone to fill the position.
Rich said he would not be voting his shares at the stockholders meeting, however isn't the CEO app't by the board?? Not sure about this. Personally, I think he should stay.
RE: McBride and Assoc./conflict of interest issue. He said exactly what I thought. They're cheap. Using them is saving us money.
The people that left early, if you are referring to the ones seated in the front row were locals, they know Rich, and yes IT WAS REALLY COLD, particularly if you were sitting where we were, right by the garage door!!!!!!! There was no need for them to stay.
That's about it for now. Any more questions, please ask. SH
Hello everyone, I'm back in the house. Swamped with work and trying to get caught upon the board at the same time. Probabably over 400 posts to read. Am taking notes so I can address the issues. Want to finish reading everything before I respond so as not to be redundant. I'm up to Feb 7. Hope to be done some time today. Later. SH
