My rehab is going well...I actually have been working out with ankle weights and doing leg lifts. I officially get evaluated for continual formal rehab at Rose Sports Medicine, near my home, tomorrow. I hope it will only be several more weeks before I can return to work (I hope!!!)...I am getting very bored here!
I cannot really add more than what had been shared at the SHM (I was disappointed not being able to fly down there because of this emergency back surgery in Detroit....had already arranged my flight and also planned to visit with my Dad who is retired in Ft. Lauderdale as well) but the business plan makes sense to me (I had once been a consultant in the Telco arena, years before I got into healthcare consulting, having done some work for US West ...now part of QWest, DOCOMO, Korea Mobile Telecom, and AT&T/Bell Labs years back), they have a superb management team, the staff they have hired is second to none and highly motivated and dedicated, and they have a great plan with a well connected group in the Board of Directors. I am simply impressed. I will sit on my shares and just let these professionals do their work!
It does take time to build a business and generate revenue and EPS growth consistently (several quarters) before the analysts start noticing and when that happens, the PPS will reflect the business reality. I have the patience to wait, and so should every LONG here!!! Mr. Dumas was right in his Letter to Shareholders.
Ignore the hired bashers on the useless Yahoo board....unless you are looking for some off-time entertainment. I just enjoy screwing with these small minds (from India and Caymen working for slave wages posting there under multiple aliases) on the Yahoo board for entertainment....beats watching repeats of Law and Order or playing blitz chess on the Internet Chess Club sometimes! LOL
Best of luck to you....
Danielle
Unfortunately I filled out the web form and did not copy it over for reference, but I did reference contacts at our company such as our CEO and Chairman of the Board Randolph Dumas (who is well known in Wall Street circles) who would be able to speak of the recent fabricated attack by journalists and hedge funds/professional short sellers and how this impacted our company.
This is the automated response I got back:

LONGS...Let's Start a Campaign!
I went to NY AG Elliot Spitzer's website and registered a complaint against the Hedge Funds and the practice of a lack of enforcement of FTDs and Naked SHORTing.
http://www.oag.state.ny.us/online_forms/email_ag.jsp
I suggest we start a campaign...a hot issue, while he is running for NY Governer....even if he is a buddy of Jim Cramer, who has interests in some Hedge Funds committing this crime...he does wish to be elected Governor.
Start writing and complaining!!! I did!
I used information from:
http://www.thesanitycheck.com/
and specifically:
http://www.businessjive.com/nss/darkside.html
as some of the part of my complaint.
GLTA LONGs and let's force the SEC, and the NY AG's office, to start enforcing our laws!!!
Bashers are having a field day (should say weekend) chatting with themselves on the Yahoo Finance board for GTE. I find it amusing sometimes...but how sad it is that some of these losers do not have a life outside their message board posting role using multiple aliases!? I just got home from a nice dinner and theatre out with friends.....no worries at all!
LONGs need to just sit back and relax and let Huff and his team do their work....
If you want to have a little fun....you can chat and "play games" with the Paid Bashers on Yahoo....that might send the Hedge Fund mgr.s (or small fry SHORT holders) blood pressure up a bit....I find it amusing at times don't you?! Good night and never take these Bashers at face value...they are "clueless" and you waste your good time, even attempting, to engage these aliases (some working offshore in Caymen or India) with any sense they have knowledge, intelligence, or logic to even understand the basics of this business model being executed now by Huff and his team.
GLTA LONGs here!!!
Good Night....Danielle
Thankyou so much.....we have all been waiting for some nice developments for a couple of years now right?! I think our patience will be finally paying off by the end of the year thank goodness!!!!
Thanks so very much. I agree with you regarding the Stratelite. It is a long-term project and will really depend on:
- Multiple flight tests and changes in design before they get what is needed for the commercial space
- Its first application and source of funding will probably be through a govt. contract even prior to a commercial contract being considered
I see it as "icing on the cake" at this stage...I am looking at the HotZone Wireless division and the Magic Money division as the big $$$$ makers for this company over the next 24-36 months, basically financing the further development of the Strat.
As for my back surgery....unfortunately it was an emergency operation I had to undergo while on a consulting assignment in Detroit (I am a...of all things...a healthcare consultant both on the provider and payer sides of the business....my client was in Detroit...the guys in the ambulance got a good laugh out of hearing that while in route to the hospital).
I had been having lower back pains, like most people complain about, for years, and recently on business (well...getting up at 4 AM every Mon. morning and catching a plane to a client at 8 AM and then schlepping luggage and a laptop on and off planes and rental cars for the last 12 years never did me any good).
A few weeks before, I had complained to my GP about pains in my back along with that down my legs (assumed it was Sciatica). I had been given at the time a script. for an antiinflamatory called Sulindac (I had requested Celebrex, but my insurance company, Cigna, refused to cover it) which helped, but the week before Memorial Day, I had excriciating pains in my lower back and down my legs. Thurs the 25th of May I called the hotel front desk and asked for an ambulance, and spent 9 hrs on a stretcher in a hallway in the ER at Providence Hospital in Southfield MI waiting on a Cat Scan. They found, after taking a Cat Scan, I had bulging disks all along my lumbar and the lowest disk (L5) was herniated and pressuring my Sciatic nerve paralyzing my legs. They had to perform emergency surgery to save my leg function. I am fine now...sort of....had 2 weeks therapy there in Detroit before returning home to Denver, and now I will be starting PT on Jul 11th here in Denver at Rose (tried the world famous Craig Hospital where they treated Christopher Reaves, but they said my condition was not that serious for them to accept me) for 8 weeks before I return to work...and I will return and be as good as new!!! I am exercising every day with leg weights, walking as much as possible in my walker, etc....On short term disability leave now from work. Bored as hell here at home....
The ironic part of this whole episode.....I worked over the years as a consultant (I am a Six Sigma expert) with these insurance companies and hospitals/clinics helping them develop procedures and processes to reduce waste, increase efficencies, and reduce fraud in claims....with all of the recent "hell" I went through getting admittance approvals at the hospital and Rehab centers and my disability payments (waiting on doctors notes to be transcribed...taking a backlog of 5 weeks) ...I am now suffering from my own designed "optimized" processes from years prior.....funny huh!!!!
Oh well....
Good luck to you and let us all be patient with Huff and his team....they are doing a splendid job in my opinion!!!!
Danielle
Bashers are pounding on the Yahoo board like it is going out of style. I must imagine some expectation regarding the reporting of earnings and other news is shortly forthcoming. There are 36,000 LONGs and we all have been waiting way too long to see this company jump to the next level for a few years now, to sell off our shares in this now.
I was impressed with the SHM, unfortunately, an emergency back surgery prevented me from attending the meeting but I had spoken with mailman on the phone prior to the meeting. Very impressed with the progress to date and patience will pay off in the end, as stated in the Dumas Letter to Shareholders. That I am sure of!
The Stratelite is just "icing on the cake" to me. If they can get all of the other divisions profitable by year end I will dance (perhaps from my walker still or on a cane while still in rehab, but dance I will!!).
GLTA LONGs here!
Danielle
This looks very promising indeed!!
This company is always looking forward and now with the various divisions starting to generate net profits by the end of the year, this is just such a sweet spot to accumulate. What amazing vision, and we all have been waiting so long for all of this plan to "come together" haven't we. Remeber were we all were 3 yrs ago while still listed on the OTC:BB and where Huff has brought this company now!
I will not be able to attend the SHM unfortunately. Two weeks ago I underwent emergency back surgery (had lower back pains for years, but after 12 yrs of consulting and schlepping luggage on and off planes each week it finally caught up with me) and now just comleting initial rehab. this week in Detroit before returning to Denver to continue therapy. I am disapointed as I was looking forward to finally meeting many of you there and putting aliases to real faces!
Have a good time at the meeting and GLTA!
Danielle
I know many are distressed over the drop in PPS, but we all know why this is happening....much manipulation by interests aligned with Hedge Funds ('PR firms" employing crews of bashers on message boards, hiring lawyers to PR bogus lawsuits, etc etc., and using the Options market to drop the PPS further to shake out LONGs holding).
I am using this opportunity to accumulate strategically at these bargain levels. I believe in the medium to long term, this company will demonstrate improving rising revenues and profits and I will hold for the bigger prize.
Danielle
SSA
No good CEO every stops his company and "runs his staff and himself around like a chicken with his head cut off" on the basis of daily shifts in PPS on the open market.
Everyone knows there is a lot of naked short-ing by Hedge Funds and we are right prior to Earnings and PRs related to progress on initiatives laid out in the mgt team performance plan (presumably to be reported at the shareholders meeting at the end of June).
This wild erratic PPS (from SHORTs, bashing from presumed interested aligned with Hedge Funds and competitors) are at owrk here....it is not based on fundamentals nor the business plan.
JMHO
Let's Just say ...
There was a "big shake" like this last year around this time...the PPS droped to $1.14 before going back to over $2.00
- Earnings soon coming out
- There is a performance plan which, in my opinion, will be met
- SHORTs (particularly Hedge Funds naked SHORTing) are pulling out all efforts to cover...using phoney baseless lawsuit PRs and then SHORTing more to shake out LONGs is a typical tactic.
Keep strong nerves and believe in the company, its business plan, and the tremendous talent they have brought on board.
Cheers...
Danielle
Insider Purchases over the last few months speak volumes:
http://www.insidercow.com/history/company.jsp?company=gte
One just has to figure that Huff et.al. realized where this company was heading and just slowly accumulated more shares.
I can't get over how many bashers there are posting out on the Yahoo board...just amazing. These Hedge Funds must be desparate to cover soon.
Ah...I think we have a winner here.
GLTA
Rocky...thank you for your service to members of this board.
Hey Rocky...your interpretation of today's action would be appreciated.
Looking at the Trades on Level 2...it does not make sense that the Bid/Ask would have dropped as much, given the trades which went through...ah typical MM games. I am in this, as most of you are, for the Long Term...most are holding for the news next month.
Typical retracement from the run-up I believe. Most are waiting news on the Summit, the Launch, and Earnings. If we have good news from any of these events, then...
Hey glow...I am not privy to Lockhead-Martin's operating plans but I can tell you this...having worked there as a mgt. consultant years back, they are not as agile an organization (way too many layers of mgt. and bureaucracy) as a company the sieze of GTEL. n the other hand, they have the manpower expertise, facilities and funding to pursue this if this was a business priority foe them.
Can't really say...
There will likely be a PR following the Summit IMHO. When exactly that will be is anyone's guess.
Your interpretation of these afterhour trades Rocky???
Rocky, et.al Finally signed up!
Great site with a lot of good DD on GTEL.
I think this company is a great LONG TERM play and have
been a holder for over 2 years now. There is some
consistent progress with this management team, executing
plans exactly according to schedule---something of a rarity
even in large cap firms!
- Feb. Tech Conference at Edwards AFB
- AMEX listing (who knows when)
- Stratelite launch in March
- Audited 4th Qtr 2004 & FYE 2004 Earnings in March
Who knows what more positive "puff from Huff" we will get in the interim!
Kudos to you all for pulling together this great site!!!!
