Wow, just came from my nurse practitioner appointment. She prescribed me Livalo (Brand), not generic.
Not 15 minutes later the pharmacy auto texted me saying they are contacting my doctor for an alternative Rx for Livalo.
Too bad my nurse is retiring, I'll have to break in the new nurse. Vascepa (Brand) and Livalo (Brand) DAW!!!
I'll pay the extra for quality.
Denner? He's still rounding up the Posse. Don't worry, he's got too much vested interest to give up on Amarin.
"Impatient we are padawan?"
North,
Are you sure about what you are saying? Generics may not outwardly promote their products but somehow the medical community is aware of a generic version? How do you suppose that happens? Are doctors and such so aware of generic equivalents all on their own?
Secondly, no, I'm not convinced about Generics having the same quality, I don't like generics at all. Both medications I take are Brand. Vascepa and a statin Livalo (Kowa). I'm willing to pay the extra $$. So, you're speaking to the choir on that point.
North, you mean like the Generics would take full advantage of studies like this to promote their generic version?
Nice, thanks Triple88. Lots of Germans on the panel of researchers.
I wonder if German Health Services is paying attention. Or at least some members have connections to the Federal Ministry of Health. https://www.bundesgesundheitsministerium.de/en/index.html
IMHO I think the Germans got it wrong about Vascepa and we will slowly begin to sway public opinion.
Where's Amarin management in all of this?.......crickets.
duke, I think the doctor made a mistake according to Joe. He had him correct the dosage. So much for getting the word out on Vascepa with all those 800 sales people? How about that Internet advertising? That doesn't appear to be working either.
What we need is a Hancock (Will Smith) to put a Big "V" on the moon.
Hi Joe,
Good to hear from you. So you moved to Colorado Springs? That's quite a change from the Bay Area. I couldn't believe the instructions on the packaging. So, the docs in Colorado Springs are in the dark about Vascepa?
Lots of things different in the Springs vs San Fran. It's definitely colder, Mass transit is a joke I'll bet? Quality of life is definitely better. Hopefully, you'll have a White Christmas.
Family is doing good.
Take care,
Nuke
Robin: From what I know from reading, Vascepa helps with inflammation caused by Covid (Cytokine Storm). It wouldn't have any anti-viral as it's a benign drug, an Omega 3 fatty acid. Viruses use other viruses to combat each other. Vascepa in and of itself is not an Anti-virus.
I'll let the Expert Panel correct me if I'm wrong.
TalShu; thanks for the DD and sensible response. Hopefully KM and company read these boards and learn from it.
The one thing the IHUB prides itself on is "respecting" the quality of the posts presented. You obviously have a very good grasp on the Middle East situation including North Africa. At my previous profession I worked with several colleagues who were from the Middle East. One gentlemen in particular was from Iran. We worked together for a couple of years, but we remained friends and would always tell jokes and laugh at things unrelated.
One thing I find fascinating is the level of intelligence portrayed on this board. We have a vertical slice of our society right here before our eyes. Peoples backgrounds and life experiences are what makes this board what it is.
Your post is very well articulated, you obviously have a very good grasp on English grammar. Your research into other countries in MENA says a lot about you.

You don't happen to own a falcon do you? Or have property with a lake or pond? :D) Obviously these things require money $$$ So, Tongue in cheek, this would put you in a different class of people for sure.
My first job out of college was a High Tech job. The company I worked for was started by a Palestinian refugee. At it's height the company made it into the S&P 500 in about 10 years after being founded. Very fast growth for a startup. Eventually the company was bought out by a larger company.
We hope you will stay and be an active listener and provider of MENA updates and world events. Welcome aboard.
Rectum? Heck it killed him…I can’t write HE double hockey sticks or the thought police will respond.
IDK? $2.08 next week? Does the timing have anything to do with the election maybe?
Silly me….voting is next week November 8th… :D(
I hate cats.... I try and catch them in my traps and make Tacos. Now I know why most of the board probably has you on ignore. You're so boring.
Boy, over on the Yahoo Board, the Thought Police are hard at work. At least here people can have a conversation without getting their posts pulled.
I say that "tongue in cheek."
I wholeheartedly agree. Now, what's with Amarin's spike this morning? Any conjecture out there? Denner's people buying in? Rumor's a plenty? Respect-EPA data leak?
It's nice, I'll take it anyway I can.
Vote out one set of jailers for another. You got that right. I figure the GOP couldn't be any worse...could they?
Finally....bravo Invest. You get it, while others don't Today is Election day, guess what I'm going to vote?
Thanks for posting Raf. Someone mention Pie? :D) mmmmm, my favorite is Boysenberry.
I disagree of course. Perception is reality. Not saying anything in defense of your study is perceived as agreeing with those questioning it.
Amarin management’s lack of providing any type of support or rebuttal to support it’s “one” drug is called ineptitude.
I’ve noticed something about my own self-discipline in taking all 4 capsules of Vascepa on a daily basis. Either I get distracted or just plain forgetful, but I often forget to take my morning capsules. I usually take my evening dose. I’m wondering if anyone else has the same issues? A one and done dose would be great.
My morning dose is usually taken with other supplements (multi-vitamins, B, C). Before bedtime I take my second dose usually with a statin.
Frankly, I feel great all the time. No real aches and pains. Obviously, I’m getting older and slowing down, but I can work circles around other men my age? I’m attributing that to the fact I’ve never smoked, drank alcohol (in excess) and always have worked hard (parents genes?).
It would be great to take Vascepa once per day. Looking forward to seeing more efforts on the “Combo” pill from Amarin. Once and done.
Amarin’s response? ….Cricket’s
Without seeing the transcripts, we're only surmising; But,
Tortious interference is a common law tort allowing a claim for damages against a defendant who wrongfully interferes with the plaintiff's contractual or business relationships. See also intentional interference with contractual relations.
Unless Reddy's can prove interference by Amarin, then Reddy's doesn't appear to have a case.
Rose; If acceptance is the issue, So…explain then how Lipitor gained in such popularity? As I recall, at first it wasn’t accepted by the medical community. How did Pfizer “pull a rabbit out of the hat?”
I feel everyone’s frustration, are we a Warner Lambert or such a pimple on an elephant?
My biggest peeve is management not defending its product in the media. Nissen, Herper and Fartstain have done the most damage and what rebuttal has management provided? Crickets….
Second biggest peeve is Amarin not providing support for EPADI (Marjac & Company).
What would be exciting is for KM to announce his resignation? Or as a flip side, announce his New Shawarma Shop with a Drive Thru window.
Seriously, nothing to be excited about tomorrow I’m afraid ??
Rose; that’s usually the case, but in this situation if Denner and friends (Consortium) buys shares on the open market? Wouldn’t Karim and friends have to match the shares purchased? Unless of course the Market Makers couldn’t sell all available shares, then what? These shares then go into the company coffers “unsought?” It’s ludicrous to say the least that a CEO & BOD would go to such lengths.?
Interesting; An Investopedia Excerpt on Controlling a company after it's gone public.
https://www.investopedia.com/articles/personal-finance/102715/keeping-control-your-business-after-ipo.asp
I would be interested to know if our shares are voting shares (I'm assuming yes) or not? I'm assuming my shares have voting rights because if they weren't, then why would I receive a proxy card?
I would be so pissed if Amarin management issues more shares as a result of the current issues.
Question 2: If Amarin issues more shares who buys them? Everybody? I would hope Denner and friends buy most of the shares. At the very least share price should go up I would imagine?
Nice try MRC. Say are you busy next weekend? I need a toilet installed at one of my rentals? ??
The Plumber returns?
BS; so I had to look up what SGLT2 are good for. Essentially a diabetes’ type 2 medication. The newbie’s are also touting its cardiovascular properties. Keep this in mind when you think synthetic medications are being taken. There’s always side effects, they aren’t telling you about those are they? Unlike Vascepa which is very safe with very little side effects. I know you’re a doctor, but doctors can be wrong….What? Sacrilege!!!!??
Izzy, I remember those times well. I was in college at the time. Iacocca wouldn’t accept any salary when he took over the reins until Chrysler was profitable. He built the K-car. Chrysler was on the brink of bankruptcy, Iacocca was able to pull Chrysler from the brink. Although our government had some say, as I remember also that Chrysler built the Abrams tanks. Having a big brother helps. Besides Iacocca, there was other CEOs like Jack Welch (GE), he pulled GE from the brink as well. Now we’re faced with another recession, only this time it will be much worse. We’re not only fighting inflation, high oil prices, rising interest rates, but also we’re fighting amongst ourselves. At least before the American People worked together to solve problems. Now, all it seems, we’re “finger pointing.”
Yes, neither one is named Icahn or Iacocca
And if Denner has to replace these newly hired Directors, they must have had a severance clause in their contract? I think it’s time for someone to take out Karim and Olson before any more damage is done.
Actually, it was me…. :D) my letter blew the lid off of any plans Amarin had of world conquest.
Seriously, I think Rag man is unto something. Maybe, just maybe Amarin management decided to go along?
Gee whiz, sometimes this board can be so frustrating. MDCO was bought by Novartis for????? Just post the dang price and be done. Instead you clowns talked around it.
Novartis paid $9.7B for MDCO a 45% premium for around $84 per share.
https://www.thestreet.com/investing/stocks/novartis-reaches-10-billion-deal-to-buy-cholesterol-drug-maker-medicines-co-15180008
So, we're hoping for $5, 10, 15? Good luck with that. Don't get me wrong, $5 per share is a bargain basement (garage sale) price for the company acquiring Amarin. All thanks to stupidity on several fronts.
Frankly, I'm sick about it and wish it would be over already.
I recall receiving numerous emails about the Proxy vote. Finally I was called directly and voted my shares over the phone. Later after reading all the reasons for abstaining. I called back and changed my vote to “abstain.”
IDK, I think both Amarin and Sarissa will be calling people to get their votes either way. I think this is going to get nasty.
Deservedly so. If that’s the way Amarin wants to play this game.
For what it's worth....
Good morning,
My name is Mortimer Snerd, I've been invested in Amarin since 2012.
I am disappointed when I read the company's Press releases dated October 11, 2022 titled: Amarin Board of Directors in Response to Sarissa Capital. The word disingenuous comes to mind when I read it. I feel the company is not being straight with me and could care less about me as a shareholder nor my investment, nor my loyalty to the company for over ten years.
Bottom-line is; If the management and Board of Directors does not work hand in hand with Sarissa Capital and approve adding more capable Board members (appointees specifically named buy Alex Denner), then I will vote all my shares in support of Alex Denner and Sarissa Capital.
The Press release talks about a "new" strategy/ direction for the company? What is that exactly? The company says it's been communicating with shareholders? When did I receive any updates? These delays the inevitable, but is a waste of resources. Time decreases the value of Vascepa to the World as we get closer to the end of Exclusivity. The more we delay, the less valuable Vascepa becomes.
The ineptitude of the CEO and Board of Directors has to be resolved and quickly or else my investment becomes worthless. Empty promises do not instill confidence.
Regards,
Mortimer
I didn't use Mortimer, I removed my real name to protect the innocent.
I just sent my letter to Amarin Investor relations. It kind of feels cathartic in a way. Gets things off my chest. I needed to do this sooner.
lizzy agree, I think we should all write to IR. If they block then well, just by ignoring us it speaks volumes.
Thanks Raf
Thanks Lizzy,
I agree with your assessment. Alex Denner is there for one reason however, and that is to shop Amarin to the highest bidder.
Thanks North,
Have a Great day.
Good point Invest,
After reading Marjac's post yesterday about "who" (Loose Group of Investors?) he was representing at the Appeals hearing. Had Marjac had Amarin sponsorship, perhaps things would have gone better.
I say perhaps because the Judges were hearing this appeal for a 2nd time. I'm thinking their minds were already made up. We've beat this dead horse.
IDK? I'm not really sure that KM and Company (Worker bees) excluding the board haven't been trying really hard to sell Vascepa to Europe? I think they have been focused on that, especially after the patent loss in the USA. The West (USA and Western Europe) tend to flock together. Countries in the EU who try to break out of the mold of Western ideology gets chastised. Enough on that.
I question the logic of why Amarin is not proactive in countering "negative press?"
Do they not care about public opinion? When someone refuses to speak up for what they believe in then that sends a message of "I don't care" therefore do what you want, I won't defend myself.
