Have you asked your uncle to look at Drake? Would be interested to know his take on it. Despite the fact there is very little to go on in making a determination, I would like an objective view of how this startup compares to any others he has seen.
Well, that had to be one of the most convoluted posts I've ever read. I think it only fair for anyone to ask for some kind of proof of comments that a person generally would have no way of knowing. Very mysterious one, you are...very Bond-like. Hinting that you have access to different types of information, then saying offhand that all that is IMO.
Whether I own shares or not is not really relevant to anyone but me, other than the fact that you continue to maintain that I don't for some reason. I have held shares in this company since it's inception as Drake, and shares of the previous shells it was for a long time. There are people here that have known my positions and why for a long time, that still occasionally post here.
It always amazes me when people simply write off posters with real concerns, questions and personal experience as bashers without ever addressing any of those things directly. That pretty much shows any objective person the true colors and motivations of the people who avoid anything negative.
isell, I know for a fact you are blowing smoke with your comments about me, and I'd just like you to either address what was wrong with my post or explain how you could possibly know. Because clearly you don't know.
Keep blowing if it makes you feel better about yourself.
Thanks very much for your efforts, and the posting of all of it. I appreciate it, and think it is a very important function of the company to constantly review marketing options and quality.
Welcome back, isell...now maybe you can address my responses to you, if you care to. Not a big deal, but since you continue to throw shots my way, I think it only fair. Thanks.
Post 10531, where you say again that I have no shares. Please explain how you would know that?
And Post 10521, afterwards, when I asked you to explain what was incorrect about my post that you felt the need to make the no shares comment.
I think spark moderates about 45 boards, or not, as the case may be. As for the assistant, I think he got fed up and left a while back. Not sure.
Yeah, as much as I complain about no PR's, this one probably takes the cake for having the least substance of any I've seen. They didn't even sell 20 tags and a reader on this one. Here is the only real applicable statement from the PR:
"It is important that we convince government officials in charge of food safety in all countries that the Advanced ID solution is the most technologically sound and cost effective program that can be implemented immediately."
Duh. It's been important for more than the two years you've been trying to convince these officials. It's important to SELL something, and not just conduct trials.
I am really getting tired of this, for the twentieth time. Might just have to eat my losses on this one.
Seems the natives are growing a bit restless...however, Clayton should be well experienced in dealing with that by now.
My monthly complaint...
Say what you want about the science, possible future promise, restructuring, etc., but it is a reality check to take a look at the one year chart for this company. That is one, steady, solid downward march.
I really missed the December pumpup this year...at least we always had that.
Now, back to the Global Warming crisis...
Have maintained all along that if in fact this is anything of value that the PR on it has been ridiculously weak.
Suspicion is still very high about anything noted by the CEO, for me.
Yes, very funny. About as funny as some of the price escalation predictions we've seen...speaking of funny.
Hey, I can have fun, too, ya know.
I don't have anything tangible. The only thing I have is the listings on the Setanta website, which showed the individual airings of the show in their daily listings. Seemed legit, but I know nothing about the cable network, other than their online presence.
I did e-mail Setanta, and the only thing the respondent could verify was that they could not verify any response to the show airings...ha.
I got nothin', as they say in the Ozarks...
Not that I need to respond to your comment, but I have a simple question for you.
How do you know that I have no shares?
I can't wait to see this...
And, curious about why you say my post was a bash. Can you tell me what was incorrect about my post?
I've found that if you word your e-mails strongly and challenge the "CEO's" performance - or lack thereof - you usually get a response. Rather quickly, at that. General questions seem to be of little concern, I've found.
As always, plenty of stuff being tossed around here as being factual, when nothing can be confirmed. I see the usual "in the ground" estimates, which are just that, and not anything that can be proven. It's fine to believe what you want, but to say there is "X" amount of gold sitting there just waiting on a permit to mine, is not anything to assume is real.
To take that a step further, evidently this estimate - by the man in charge of the property that rights were purchased from, as I recall - was not good enough for the permitter, which sent out their own people or person to do their own estimates. We are still awaiting the permit, at the very least.
A lot has been done to dismiss the past here, with good reason. But there is plenty of history with Novak and Clayton WITH this very company that you can be concerned about. The PR links alone can tell a pretty good tail of why this stock sits at the share price it does today, which is down considerably from where it started, AFTER it became what it did after the past history, which is not permitted to be talked about now.
Looks like a typical spam protection software issue, bouncing back to you as being an unrecognized sender. I would not presume anything more than this, but of course, I could be wrong. Plenty of unrequested e-mails are caught in spamware these days. Just my opinion.
No problem. Here is the PR from Drake on this, which was released on March 29 of last year. I would presume most shareholders would like an update:
Drake Gold Resources, Inc. Announces Spin Off of Specialty Assets
VANCOUVER, British Columbia--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 29, 2006--
Drake Gold Resources, Inc. (PINK SHEETS:DKGR - News) is pleased to announce that we are completing negotiations for the spin off of the specialty assets from our former business model, including patented processes, wheel designs, patent pending switch plates and designs, a series of apparel designs and unique licenses in the sports world.
The assets are very unique and we have had some very interesting offers put on the table. Another company who deals in outdoor products, sports products and apparel has approached us, and they have made several offers for the purchase of these assets.
There are two likely scenarios, either a cash and stock transaction or an all stock transaction in which all stock would be issued as a dividend to current DKGR shareholders as of a soon to be determined record date.
The company is pleased to be able to spin off the former companies assets to benefit current shareholders with added value through a stock dividend. This step completes the full transition from the previous model to the precious metal exploration and production business. We will make the formal announcement of the spin off with all the remaining details within a couple days once the agreements have been solidified.
This really makes no specific sense. I am long tired of promises of contracts and implementations based on discussions like these. Better news than nothing, but very little has come from any of these in the past.
Since you asked, 50 Plus, I think an appropriate question would be:
What were the proceeds from the sale of inventories from the previous company that were announced many months ago in a Clayton/Drake PR? First, what were the inventories, and have they sold them? We were told to expect this many months ago, and have received no update.
I would think investors would want to know of any beneficial sales and influx of cash from the sales.
Thanks, looking forward to any information you can share.
Although I don't have verifiable proof of anything, I did post earlier in this forum the advertised listings of the Setanta Cable network, which listed the airings of each of the shows. I also checked out the daily schedules, which also had the shows listed to be showed.
Again, that's all we have to go on for now. Take it for what it is worth.
Probably all posts that ask questions about the lack of performance, or state obvious problems with the investment. Which means this post will also be deleted. Fear is a powerful driver of human response.
skooby, I understand the thought of assuming the worst case scenario to stay protected yourself, but here's a question. Do you know why the big dog left? Sounds like to me there was problems with his performance and/or the thinking that he was not qualified to be in the role he was in to take the company to the next (and future) level(s). Do you think this person's friends - as you put it - just jumped on board because of him, or do you think they - as a group - probably had some idea of the possibilities of this company? Do you think high level investors just throw a bunch of their investment money at a company only as a matter of friendship and support? Possible, yes, but unless the "friend" of theirs was tossed out for suspicious or malicious reasons, would they give up on the possible riches they initially bought into en masse? Maybe. But considering that they probably had their eyes open if investing a large sum of money, I doubt they would just give up on the company just yet. I understand your thinking, and it is smart to consider it.
I just would REALLY like to know the story behind the departure of these guys - whatever it is. As always...information is power, and this is a big deal.
As for the patent application, does anyone have an idea of how long this specific patent ap...the type of patent ap it is...might take to process? Meaning...it's kind of a technology or process patent, and not a new drug kind of thing, per se. Maybe this question makes no sense, as I know very little about medical processes or issues. But maybe someone can address the idea?
Thanks a lot.
Despite the obvious opportunity for a quality bash after that comment, I will let it pass so as not to hinder the lighthearted banter for today...lol.
Cheers.
I seriously miss Todd Noble, the former PR person and a member of management before he left. I'm starting to think - or have for quite a while now - that he left for a better opportunity.
This is really hard to take.
No prob, Kfed. You know how I roll, it's always somebody around here keeping me down...lol.
Cheers.
I'm not sure what you are implying, but I'm merely curious if this is a unique hold for some, longer than usual, on the hopes something will come of it. I am not going to give my opinion about anything.
There is no doubt that there is a possible dramatic upside to this stock, and I know some may be in it because of what Clayton has done for them in other stocks. Was mainly curious, that's all.
I have been kind of out of touch for quite some time and feel behind on the departed management and the reasons why. Now this. Can someone give me the short version on why these people are no longer with the company (as far as we know) and how it happened?
Was there wrongdoing or lack of performance on their part? It seems to me that people in this position, if things were looking good for the company, would not leave willingly with so much financial possibility in the future. PRs can be worded to completely hide or change the truth, and I don't have a feel for this. I was gone for a week, and not keeping up much before being gone.
This seems like a pivotal situation and timeframe for this company, and ultimately my investment. I have too much %-wise in my portfolio to just wait and see if there are some serious doubts here. I consider myself overly patient with this company, but this worries me. Thoughts? Thanks in advance.
Here's a question for the board and the members of "Z's" club. Have you folks signed on to other stocks of this nature and these levels for relatively long periods of time like you have with Drake? Or is this a unique investment for you? I'm sure each of you is different, it just seems strange that so many short term investors seemingly have so much tied up in something that has yet to produce anything.
Not bashing at all, just trying to understand trading behaviors at these levels.
I am not a chart or volume watcher, so I tend to be ignorant of sudden movements...ha. I base my investments on what I consider to be common sense opportunities and various reasons to think a company might be a good one, and to see this program advertised on a cable network - especially what seems to be a fairly reputable golf network, really helps my outlook. I remain sceptical after what I have been promised and what has actually happened here, but this last contract does seem to be real. And things have to start somewhere.
There might be life in this shank, yet. Dare to dream.
Here is the return message from the cable company. I asked if they could give any info on subscriber response or numbers from the airing of the show...
Dear Mr XXXXXXXXX
Thank you for your e-mail. I can confirm that I am unable to provide this information.
Yours sincerely

I'd settle for a consistent lava flow of product to clients, sooner than later. Let's get this show on the road...with some good people at the helm.
Not sure what you are asking. The company has already PR'd the airing of those shows, and they are going on now.
I see no appreciable value in how this situation was handled, promoted, or continues to be handled.
An embarrassment of the only positive thing to come along since I've been here.
Here is the show listings, posted on the Web site:

I would love to find someone to verify that the show is on and looks good?
OT - We stayed at a nice all-inclusive resort next to Puerto Aventuras, on the Rivera Maya coast. Located right across from Cozumel, on the mainland. We never once were concerned for safety reasons, anywhere we went...really liked the area, Playa Del Carmen was really fun, Xel-Ha was a beautiful area...nice place to stay at a reasonable price. Now, back to zero degrees and reality...lol.
I come back from a wonderful vacation to see 335 new posts here and a drop to below .007, on the news of the share issuance being pulled back and the permitting process being re-evaluated and an unnamed new "professional" geologist hired to work to make something happen on the permitting front. More of the same in the magical world of Drake Gold.
Mexico was beautiful, and it's Super Bowl week, so all is good.
OT - Everyone have a great week, and protect my financial interests here, if you would. The wife and I are off to Mexico, and I confess I will not be checking anything important for a week...lol.
Cheers, and good luck with your weather, and investments this week.
Then perhaps the company management should not have overpromised the quick arrival of the permit, which they said was a mere formality? Just a thought.
Maybe so, but I'm tired of Pagnano promising something and then seeing it come back later to be untrue. For instance the e-mail to a poster here saying there would be a US contract in 1st quarter '07, and subsequent PR's saying the showing in UK will HELP land a contract.
He's promised before to have contracts, and then nothing.
WHY DIDN'T HE PR WHEN THE SHOW WAS AIRING prior to this? Just not enough boom for the buck, and even with the announcement, we sit at .001? Discouraging, to say the least.
Does it bother anyone else that our last PR sits on top of our news, screaming the word..."MONKEYS" ?!?
Sorry, my mind wanders around a bit when not occupied. Carry on.
Here's what I don't get, despite my excitement at seeing SOME kind of contract announced - if it actually happens, that is. He references this contract as helping towards landing a U.S. contract, and he claimed in an e-mail response that he would HAVE a contract in the U.S. in the 1Q of '07. Does not seem to be the same thing, does it?
At any rate, This could be really positive, if it actually is broadcast. I remember the PAX "contract", tho, and how that never came to fruition...
