That's very interesting; adding some of the other 'nicotine juice' on your REAL filters... I myself am not a smoker and am really enjoying this product. In fact I do the opposite: I smoke a filter (maybe 1 every other day) and leave the filter on and just puff on it from time to time. After a while the flavor is done, but there is still a little something. This gets me to a new point; I want non-nicotine filters. The flavor and sensation is great, especially at work where just an oral fixation can relax you. In any case, I too like my REAL e-cig and hope for a bright future here.
I haven't called, but I have emailed CS several times and got responses within 2 hours.
Give it time, it will happen. One step at a time
There will be more shipments after this one... Let's wait and see what revenue looks like in a year instead of speculating on what it could/could not be. I also think assumptions should not be made about what's going on behind the scenes, we simply don't know.
Again, the REAL is great, I'm enjoying it very much. Now where are my new filters?
Yes sir, born and raised Brooklyn NY
How many orders were filled? 500? somewhere around there... I ordered 1 starter kit and thats all. Many probably ordered a starter kit (or 2 or 3) PLUS extra filters. You're right, we have no way of knowing; it's all speculation.
THis is NOT speculation: I have my REAL, I love my REAL, the REAL is the sh!t. I was puffin on the subway home from work today and had some curious bystanders around me like 'wtf is he sucking on? is that a cig?' It's great.
LOL Newmedman! You referred to my complaining (for lack of a better word) of my heating coil a 'game.' I don't play these types of games.
Disclosure: I love my REAL, I am long here
Like I posted before, I have been in contact with CS (Ken) and he has answered my questions; giving me the same feedback as Joe and others. It could be the sensor in my device, or more likely what Joe descries, the filters prevent air to a point that the sensor doesn't activate the battery and heating coil.
Everything is fine and yes, this 'game' is over.
A wise post. I agree. however, there were many bashers today (who mysteriously disappear right after the bell) and combating them is difficult. Ignoring them and posting positive suggestions/comments/stories just move their post down the board could be a more effective strategy. Outsiders will look at talk of SEC and other negative things and may be scared away, and this is the goal of said bashers.
For real, Joe and I have the same experience. Almost no matter what I can't get it to drag with the filter on. Take it off and it drags with very little effort. For now just putting a finger on the holes for literally a split second to start the drag will do for me until the filters are improved. Still loving my REAL.
Also, my gf loves it too now that we can get it to drag every time. Excellent
Exactly, ok I'm not alone and I agree that it's probably the filters. Great, can't wait to receive my new filters
Ok, here's what my situation is:
When I drag on my REAL i get no blue light UNLESS I cover the holes briefly. Then it lights up and I feel the heat... Ok, they say you may not feel heat. I do (when it lights up). I've done tests on this: take off the filter, drag the ecig; the blue light goes on and the coil heats up. There is no in between, I either feel heat and the light is on or I don't feel heat and the light is off. There is no 'it's sort of heated' its just hot or not. I believe my REAL is slightly faulty in that you guys have no issue whatsoever.
When my filer is on: take a drag, no blue light, no heat. Then, cover the holes and drag, nice warm air, a blue light and a great flavor and sensation.
Now I'm thinking mine is just slightly defective. Thanks for the insight Platero.
I dont see it saying sold out. I can order it... I won't because I have one already... but yeah, awesome
EVERYONE WITH THE REAL:
I posted my opinion of the REAL e-cig on the CS part of the site and got 2 responses from Ken. I will not paste them, because the conversation is not at an end. But this is the gist of my comment and his response:
ME: I am enjoying the REAL, except I would like heat on every drag without having to briefly cover the ventilation holes near the filter. Please take this into consideration when upgrading the product. (he had previously stated that they were going to modify the description of the product to not include the statement that it emits heat, I thought this was not the way to go.).
KEN: This is a good observation and the engineers will not be removing the ventilation holes (for obvious safety reasons). "There will be design changes as we go, some could effect the heat. Please keep checking the site for these updates."
We have the first shipment. The product will go through evolutionary stages as time and testing allows. I found this to be a pleasing response.
Am I going to have to post a video of me puffing on my REAL? I'm at work puffin on it now. it's great
Well, without test results they CAN'T claim that it's safer... Could result in lawsuits down the line.
As you may have read already I don't feel heat every time I take a drag on my REAL unless I cover the holes near the filter. I asked the CS team why this was and if this was normal.
CS response to my inquiry about the REAL:
"Hi Tim,
We are going to change the description where it says Feel the Heat. The temperature that the product you have heats up to is more then sufficient to release the nicotine and flavor but may not generate the heat as we described. If you need the heat to be satisfied I guess it is OK to cover the holes. I am going to ask the engineers for their comment. I'm glad that you like the flavor. "
Yeah, when I look at the chart I see a huge gain followed by a nice consolidation. So much talk was around BCCI; look at that chart. WOW. All the way up to .86 (NOT .086) then a crash. This is healthy; I'm not freaking out about 2% here and there. Give me a break, you really expect no profit taking/flipping from a huge gain we had up to .08's?
Also don't forget about JAMN. Not healthy
I'm very surprised so much attention is being paid to some people here (you know who I mean).
Here's something to think about: I have the product. I like the product. I just ordered more filters for personal use. I plan on using the product for a while.
This isn't speculation. It's what I know and I'm telling you all this. If you're smart, you know what to do from here.
Yes, very reasonable. For 32 bucks you get 80 filters... even less money if you buy more. 1 filter = ~1.5 real cigs in terms of nicotine... Think about it, I'm in NYC a pack of cigs is 10 bucks. 30 bucks for 60 cigs. 32 bucks for 80 filters which is about 120 cigs worth of nicotine. pretty sweet

Cart and checkout worked for me
I ordered it. The cart worked fine. So you know: I ordered 1 box of 40 american blend and 1 box of 40 virginia blend. I got the confirmation email and everything. My order has not shipped yet though.
I ordered more filters last night
I'm contacting CS about my device not heating up without covering the LED holes. It works great even so, but I would like one that works perfectly. Joe, you may be right, I've only gone through 5 of my filters (I just ordered two boxes (80 filters). If this is defective I'll even just pay the 18 bucks for a new coild and battery. But I will definitely let the company know of my issue. Thanks to all for the suggestions.
I had the same issue, try covering the two holes as you inhale. The heat is very noticeable and very pleasant. You will get the hang of it
I figured out what the problem was. For me at least it's the suction. It doesn't detect it unless you cover the holes. I figure a larger hole in the filter would do the trick. If I remove the filter entirely the coil heats up every time, the same thing as if i cover the holes while dragging. It's very pleasant
not that I recall, but that is exactly it.
YES, they will sell. I love my REAL. I'm not a smoker and this is great. Will let my smoker friends try this weekend.
I did this test, except i did it by removing the filter entirely and you're right. However, the suction isn't detected properly with the filter on. I agree 100% Joe, maybe they could make the little whole in the filter twice or 3 times the size. It's about the size of a thumbtack needle at the moment.
Puffin' on my REAL right now in the office, it's great
Joe,
Each filter has worked so far. I love the REAL, it's simply a great product and i see a bright future for it. 100% heated drags.
Has anyone else with issues of it not heating up tried this technique? I would like to know. Joe, you're a smoker (right?) how has your REAL been holding up in terms up heated drags?
TO EVERYONE WHO HAS A REAL:
I figured it out! I was complaining about no heat 100% of drags, well this is no more! I am so happy with this product now.
Here's the trick: Before you take a drag, cover up the two holes near the base of the filter.
As you drag (gently) remove your fingers from the holes. The coil should heat up and the blue light turn on. EVERY DRAG HAS HAD HEAT FOR ME.
It is truly a great product now that I can have a heated drag every time. I suggest everyone try this as I believe it was intended that each drag have heat. I think they need to tweak the product just slightly so that this isn't the case OR clearly explain in the instruction that covering the holes is the way to go.
The REAL is amazing, SFIO all the way
Cj,
The nicotine is fine. I just wish the heated sensation happend on EACH drag. That would make me very happy. Everything else is great. My gf doesn't like it (she couldn't hit it properly), but my dad loves it (except that he doesn't smoke). We both got nicotine buzz instantly.
Edit: also, my dad was getting the heated drag on 90% of his drags... There's got to be a technique
Just needs to heat up on each drag, that's my only real critique. It's quite satisfying when the coil heats up on the drag. I have trouble getting it to do that on each drag though
This could be the case, but I only feel the heat when the blue light goes on. I don't feel any heat otherwise. If the battery isn't heating the coil, then it isn't doing anything.
Regardless, even if the heat isn't supposed to be with EVERY drag, I think it should be
Just saying what I think. Heats up every time with no filter. And I found it satisfying when it heated up. Didn't feel right when it didn't.
This is my last post, so good night.
Maybe so, but I still think it should heat/light up every time to give some sort of effect. Otherwise I'm sucking a fancy straw...
Well, I know the problem and they NEED TO FIX IT NOW! I don't want to have to add tape or manipulate the product in any way. Again, this may just be my particular unit. However I would like 100% of the product being shipped out to work properly without any BS patching up.
Bnd,
I let it charge until the red light went out. I didn't trust that it was enough (happened in about 5 mins), so I plugged it back in and let sit for around a half hour. It works 100% WITHOUT the filter. I think the sensor detecting suction is not sensitive enough.
My conclusion:
When I remove the filter and take a drag it ALWAYS lights up and heats up (i'm careful not to burn myself). When the filter is applied, the sensor doesn't pick up the suction easily enough. Basically, when it senses the suction it heats up for a half second (maybe a full second) and thats it. Even if you drag longer, it will only heat up for that second. It works 100% without the filter applied. With the filter it is a little wonky. There is probably a simple solution to this.
It is my belief that EVERY drag is supposed to emit heat.
charged for around 30 mins. I think it was pre-charged to some degree. I charged it again after using it for a little bit. Still won't light up on each drag. Again, my dad had no problem. There may be a technique... who knows. All I know is there should be heat coming out. If you guys aren't feeling heat then I don't know what the deal is with that.
