lol Well the way I feel about it is he could have left when the other offers were coming in. I know Posada wants to catch and not play 1st but he was a liability behind the plate. When men with bad knees can steal a bag against his weakened arm he became a complete liabilty. I like him at the plate but Molina has done great behind the plate.
It would not surprise me at all if Yankees start looking for a catcher. Molina is doing a great job but he will need to be rested. Soooo there may be some talking as we speak..lol
I think a serious argument can be made that Molina is calling a better game than Posada. Where on earth did we get a pitching staff?
Posada is considering getting that Shoulder operated on soon. He would be out the rest of the year. It is obvious that he is playing hurt. He can't throw which means he can't catch as everyone knows now they can run against him. His offensive numbers are not as good as they could be but one thing he can do is play 1st base. and he drives up pitch counts because he is better than the average catcher at having a good eye at the plate.
He came back at the right time to. Yankees are really creeping back up to them. As I am writing this Boston was winning 3-2 and are not losing 5-3 in the Bottom of the 8th. They lose this and Yankees will be only 3 games behind them and 4.5 behind Tampa. 2 weeks ago Yankees were 9 games behind Tampa and the writers were all leaving them for dead. Things are getting much tighter in the A.L. east.
It is soooo expensive going to the games. $4.00 for a slice a pizza. And our little guy is 11 and thinks the money grows on tree's yet wants 1 of everything, not that he gets it but I want him to be able to bring somethings home to show his friends. Besides, he is to young for a dog and a beer..lol He has been to a decent amount of trips to Yankkee stadium. I think it was 8 times now,Once to Shea stadium.
lol, That was a gift win. It is a cheap way to win and I am glad they got the win but they should have beaten the daylights out of them with how many guys they left on base and or runners in scoring position.
Unfortunitly times were changing. There was a time they thought the person who pays money to taxes is more important than some kids that want to play in the parks or playgrounds. They said well they have to go someplace else. But when asked where someplace else was the answer was well there has to be somewhere for them to go. They will just have to find it.
The sad part of it is about 5 years later you had a huge reduction in kids going out for little league baseball and even years later we went from having 15 full teams with extras on the bench in our town to 2 teams in our town now and they have to play teams in other towns. I understand that times are different but alot of the towns in our area have the same problem and there is just not enough kids interested anymore. My thinking is if they have noplace to go to get interested they what is going to get them interested. You can only play ball with dad so much and even at that many other kids could care less.
Yea, James Earl Jones was in it. Dennis Leary, We used to play at the playground in a school yard and we had a woman that would complain and screem and yell everyday that we were desturbing her. All we were doing was playing baseball but she lived next door. She went to school board meetings trying to keep us away and they said it is a playground, they are kids. Of course they are going to use it. She would call the police evertime we were in it then and the police would come and see us and we were all young kids at that point still. Eventually she won out. They put a fence up and your not alowed in there anymore. That was the last big spacious place for us to play in our town because of growth or people like that who can't seem to see other people happy.
I don't know why or what happens. A kid I could understand more because they go through a stage I am sure where they feel they are invincable after doing something like that. But in Cones case, he couldn't hit the side of a barn after that and he was a good pitcher before that. Everything completly fell apart for David Cone.
Not that it has much to do with that article, well I guess maybe a little bit. Did you ever see the original sandlot movie? It is everying a kid should go through growing up or have a chance to go thropugh growing up.
I can't say that I blame them in N.H. My whole point was why should we have to get it from a place like that and off a guy like him who sides against the United States in everything just to side against them. Where is our goverment. Where is our democrats. Where is our republicans? Where is our President. They are all to busy trying to blame everyone else and playing politics and getting donations from the rich oil men. No, they can't accept donations from the company itself but they sure can recieve a nice donation from the Execs that are at the oil companies.
N.H. Will Accept Free Oil From Chavez
With fuel prices rising, N.H. decides to accept free oil from Venezuela
What is sad about that headline is people are forced to deal with the devil just to take care of their family while the clowns in office in our own country do nothing but squabble and point the finger but do nothing to help their own people they are elected to help.
I bet he was nervous
I did forget about Pitcher Garcia, they may go after him but there are some bats out there in trade discussions. Philles were working on a block buster deal to get Matt Holiday and Brian Fuentes, but money seemed to be the problem.
Holliday is on the trade block and Any team that gets him will be a better team but I think both Yankees and Mets would really benifit the most from having him. Mets should definitly go after him as I think the Yankees would be beter off going after Brian Fuentes.
If they do anything and thats a big if I think it would be to go after a bat. I just can't picture them going after a pitcher.
If what I am hearing is true this is the deal that looks like is being talked about.
I think Ichiro would provide the yankees a huge spark. I am shocked that Seattle would consider this because He still is a huge draw with alot of the fans.
He sure has. Even last year I was not as impressed with him at times. he would show some great plays in Center and then others not and at the plate he can't hit the side of a barn
That would be huge if that were to happen. Unfortunitly we would have to lose Melky in the deal as 1 of the players.. HA HA HA HA HA HA, I almost said that with a straight face. Melky would be 1 of the players to go. If it is true I would even pack Melky's bag for him
Big time rumblings coming out of the Bronx and Seattle that Yankees and Seattle are in talks to trade Ichiro to the Yankees.
Well they have been rolling and playing some really tough teams to. The Reds, The rockies just doesn't cut it for me. Sure any team can beat anyone on any giving day but just like the yankees were streaking against some of the NL teams to only to hit a wall. I think we will have to see where the Mets are in Sept as I am more of a fan of lets play the season instead of the 1st hot streak of the season for them.
He has never lived up to his potential. He would show a flash of greatness and look like he was going to start living up the the hype then bang, he would so something really stupid on the filed of play either with his bat or on the field.
I don't like it at all. Sure he is batting .344 against lefties but what is going to happen when he is not a every day player? Your going to see his batting avg drop since he wont get enough playing time. Even though they were saying all the right things about Matsui and he may have season ending operation. It looks like he is definitly having it.
Now why you picking on poor Shef?lol I liked him when he kept his mouth shut and played for us but once the mouth and the me me me stuff starting coming out it became a good time for them to trade him. I don't think they were ready to trade him at the time but he was becoming a huge distraction to the team.

Oh please, sing me a song, you were not attacked, we didn't agree with you is all...lol Don't be so dramatic....lol
Funny, they were even booing Santana in Shea stadium. But ya know, thats ok, they are mets fans..lol
Have you not watched ALL Star games before? How about pro-bowl in the nfl? I have seen it done alot. I have even seen fans boo a kid who is wearing a jersey from their team for the punt pass and kick competition.
Papelbon likes to run his mouth. He has made numerous statements about being equal to Mo, He's just a pup yet. Maybe he will keep his mouth shut next time and just do his job and stop being so in love with himself and realize there is more to the all star game than him. As far as Youk, he is with the enemy. Mets fans wouldn't cheer Yankees at Shea. Just because it happened at Yankee stadium even thought it happenes everywhere else to Yankee fans are classless? That to me sounds like your just looking for a way to stick it to the yankees again. I got some news for you, there were more than just yankee fans there.
As long as they don't beat the daylights out of it again to the .0011 like they did here. If it goes up then thats great but it dropped down so hard so fast alot of people lost their tail waiting for days it would get back to where it was. Unfortunitly when it would go down on a daily basis and see lower lows everyday it makes it hard to believe many of those people will ever see a dime of their money again.
Well You feel Tampa may have been leveling off after being so hot(for 3 months) and the Mets have been pretty bad during that time. Thats a long time. Mets have been playing poorly alot longer than they have been playing well. Tampa has been playing great alot more than they have been playing bad. Phillies pitching has been better than you think. They have givin up less runs than the mets and scored more runs.
Surprise surprise I am not all that impressed yet. I still say the Phillies are the team to beat. Even bad teams can get on a short roll. They need to keep going to impress me.
I bet alot of people are very happy and were wishing it was them that got the chance to knock the daylights out of him..lol He is a piece of dirt.
Congrats Soxfan !!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, I am shocked. I thought he had it beat again. Thats very sad. The Yankees and Baseball in general lost a great man who loved the game.
I agree, I thought about that after I posted. They never got anything going against Halladay to begin with also.
This would be a huge chance for the yankees to move up in the standings. To lose to the Pirates again and then lose game one last night to the Blue Jays is not going to help them. They need to play better than just over .500 ball. You can't always get runners home when they are in scoring position but you can do it more than the yankees are. You get man on 1st and 2nd with no out you need to get atleast 1 of those runs in. If you don't on a regular basis then you are not a playoff type team.
lol, that was pretty good. I liked it.
I remember when Cano had a really bad night at the plate and on the field and the reporters were all surrounding him and he waved them all off and told them to get going. Jeter went over to him and then A-Rod followed and Jeter could be seen looking over at the press and talking to Cano. One person heard him and he was telling Cano you don't even wave the press off like that. You want them around when you had a great game so you have to tolerate it when you had a bad game and answer their questions. Cano waved the press back over then.
Thats a good story. I enjoy it alot that he likes baseball as much as I do and watches the games with me. It is funny how things go full circle. When I was a kid my grandmother was the huge baseball fan in the family and it was my grandmother that took me to my 1st Yankee game. My grandmother never missed a game on TV and if it wasn't on TV she had it on the radio. I used to sit with her while my grandfather napped. If it was just on the radio we would play a game together like Manopoly or checkers, Connect 4, go fish when I was younger..lol It is something I still talk about and always will remember it like it was yesterday.
Now today he went out and did some yard work with me and I am sure he wont talk about that with the same excitment..lol
The last 2 games he has had scrappy at bats. Even tonight he had a couple scrappy at bats.
I can't believe Manny never took the bat off his shoulder.
My 11 year old is alot like me, he loves baseball and loves watching baseball.
