No resistance on HELE
Long-Term Sentiment: Buy
This stock is breaking out as I type, great pattern - as of this morning at 11:00EST. It looks like it broke down a bit, but I will stay with this one a bit (it may be my downfall - tight stop on this).

Taking the money and running on TWTC
Long-Term Sentiment: Sell
This was a great little move but I am taking my money and running on this little channel breakdown. In today's market you have to take dough off the table.

Pretty chart for ATRS
Long-Term Sentiment: Buy
This is another great technical move to the upside. I am a buyer at these levels.

From this fall can it get any better? SGTL
Long-Term Sentiment: Sell
Today's action does not look that great I would play this one on the short side for now.

Ken, thanks for the post and the link to your site - very interesting premise.
Also appreciate the links to the chart templates

BRCD Rolled over
Long-Term Sentiment: Sell
BRCD looks bad technically. I think it has more downside coming.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/BRCD/Brocade_Communic_Sys.html
Lower lows coming Pt. 2 for XLNX
Long-Term Sentiment: Sell
This looks like a classic breakdown especially if we break 28.9 Need to play the short side here, could be good.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/XLNX/Xilinx_Inc.html
Lower lows coming for PCLN
Long-Term Sentiment: Strong Sell
I think there is more downroom based on the technicals.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/PCLN/priceline.com_Inc.html
If only you could pick out these anchors even 51% of the time...
Great looking charts and thank you for the feedback. I appreciate the effort to post charts, especially if we both comment on the same stock - makes for a more interesting read.
Thanks again

Turning around ZRAN
Long-Term Sentiment: Buy
My system just gave me a short term buy signal I like that it is trying to fill the gap.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/ZRAN/Zoran_Corp.html
Lookin strong this am - XMSR (no pun intended)
Long-Term Sentiment: Buy
Looks like a nice clean breakout on a down day. That is a good sign.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/XMSR/XM_Satellite_Radio_HoldingsA.html
More downside predicted - TARO
Long-Term Sentiment: Sell
Bad chart and support is broken. I would play this to the downside.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/TARO/Taro_Pharmaceutical_Ind.html
Technically Broken CECO
Long-Term Sentiment: Strong Sell
Horrible charts broken all support. Down is path of least resistance.

Great charts hack I like YPNT to buy on the dips
A new article in Working Money explains our range contraction filters. Check it out:

Support at 40 Holding: SYMC
Long-Term Sentiment: Buy
My technicals suggest using pullbacks as a buy opportunity.

My crime is spam. My request is to understand if both kinds of posts I've made (long or short; described here: http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=3645011) are spam or if one is allowed. If neither are allowed, then my pledge to you is never to venture outside my board again.
Best,
D
OK so its a balance that appears to have been tipped in the wrong, offensible direction.
If I had made the calls I make in the posts without any reference or basis from which it came, I would either have been ignored or hounded with the question: what makes you think that? Where do you derive your analysis?
I try not to waste any reader's time. That's why with few exception, the analysis is 1-2 sentences and intended to have: the direction of the stock, a description of what the stock is doing technically, and a specific entry or exit point meant to put some 'skin in the game'/'foot where mouth is'.
Some of the longer posts are well received and seemed to add the discussion: http://www.investorshub.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=3621886
So it becomes a question of whether the long posts or the short posts or every single post made has been offensive. If all of them are offensive, then I will never venture outside my board again. But I believe this is not the case - and then it becomes a matter of where the line is.
To begin with I will remove the email reference from my 'siggy' and not make the long posts ever again.
If you'll notice the text of my posts, you'll see it is anything but product hyping or spam.
My intent is to provide reasoned interpretations of stock activity with a geniune bias of whether to buy or sell. Making a definitive call to be evaluated or judged by is more than what other posters or even experts will do.
I leave it to readers to judge if I'm worth the free advice. In the posts you'll find a recap of what the stock is doing and my justification for where the stock is headed.
If that doesnt provide any value to a reader, than perhaps I should do this elsewhere.
Please advise - my intent is add to the discussion.
Thank you for your consideration.
Greetings. Either I need to reverify my email address or I am in the Jailhouse. If I'm in jail - may I be informed as to the charge and rule that was broken?
Thanks. Best,
David
Breaking out
The chart action looked really good today. I think this is a buy.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/AMZN/Amazon.comInc.html
This is near term bottom!
Long-Term Sentiment: Strong Buy
The technicals are screaming that this is near term buy signal off of the recent low.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/ASKJ/ASK_Jeeves.html
Calling a near term bottom
Long-Term Sentiment: Buy
I think technically speaking SINA is going to bounce!
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/SINA/Sina_Corp.html
Great charts and great call on SIE. SIE was reported by my system 17 times already as reaching new 3 days highs after being filtered for the items mentioned previously.
Another one that's been good today is RYL (Note: up to 11:00 am - cant speak for what it will do the rest of today)
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/RYL/Ryland_Group.html
Also liked PHCC earlier today.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/PHCC/Priority_HealthcareB.html
You still need good position management and skill in managing your P&L - but at least this system brings you to the water.
Best,
Thanks bbgold. Here are some alert windows based on my interpretation of the Darvas method.
You'll have to be a member to see the stock symbols, otherwise you'll still be able to see the configuration.
This alert window first creates the following conditions stocks must satisfy: be trading at least 50% above their normal current volume at all times, have a maximum spread of 8 cents, have already experienced 3 days of range expansion (increasing difference between high and low of the day - 3 days in a row), and be in the top half of its trading range of the current day.
Then and only then will it alert you of the following activity via the alerts: reaching new 3 day Highs, Running up in price, and breaking 3 day resistance lines.
Take a look:
http://www.trade-ideas.com/View.php?O=2000000000000000000040010_3d_0&QNHPF=3&QRU=6&QCDHR...
I may work on a Darvas breakout where the range is contracting for a few days and then suddenly breaks out the range on volume and makes new short term highs.
Not looking good
Long-Term Sentiment: Sell
From the technical point of view this is looking real ugly. New 52 week lows with high volume are never a good sign. My suggestion is take it on the chin.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/RFMD/RF_Micro_Devices.html
Looking Good Here
Long-Term Sentiment: Buy
The technicals here look very compelling. Based on the system I use I think this is a good entry point.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/HON/Honeywell_Intl.html
Let's create some examples to illustrate.
If I could filter for anything, how would a Darvas filter work? Expanding volume to me means a stock that is trading x% above what it normally trades for the time period (let's say the day). For example all stocks trading 50% above their normal trading volume.
The expanding range I assume refers to the stock price. I have a filter that can simultaneously look for stocks that are trading unusually high volume and are in the midst of an expanding or a contracting range.
Here is a list of filters available to me. What filters and then alerts would you choose?

Going and Going and Gone
Long-Term Sentiment: Strong Buy
This is a classic breakout and looks like we head higher.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/IMCL/ImClone_Systems.html
Above 29.95 is a good breakout
Long-Term Sentiment: Buy
If CYMI trades above there it will see nothing but blue sky on technicals.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/CYMI/Cymer_Inc.html
Above 42 is a breakout
Long-Term Sentiment: Buy
I like the technical action today. I think we head higher.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/CAKE/Cheesecake_Factory.html
Above 43.50 and its blue skies
Long-Term Sentiment: Buy
I think CECO is setting up for a technical breakout at these levels here.

Still in Downtrend from April Highs
I am cautious about this one because it is still in a downtrend from April. It also made a real solid new lower low in that downtrend. If you are looking to pair losses my system suggests this is a good time to scale out. This is of course based only on the following technicals.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/BCGI/Boston_Communications_Grp.html
Poised for another run I think
Long-Term Sentiment: Buy
Based on my technicals there may be a little more sideways action but overall this stock is ready for a breakout above 28. I am using pullbacks as buying opportunities.
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/XMSR/XM_Satellite_Radio_HoldingsA.html
Here is SIRI:
http://www.trade-ideas.com/StockInfo/SIRI/Sirius_Satellite_Radio.html
Dangerously below the 200 day average
Long-Term Sentiment: Sell
From the technicals I would not be getting long this and would look to minimize losses if long.

This is the line in the sand
If there is any hope for TIVo on the technical side it better do it now before long term support is completely broken.
