150,000 subs is a nice number. At $7.95 it means they will generate $1,192,500 the first year and close to 2 million the next year.

Absolutlly Sydney65, With Skunksyards report on "Barrons Advertising" when a PR comes out announcing the launch this could very well BUST to .05 IMHO.

Nah BigTips, I first got in at .0150 with 32,336 shares & then later at .0170 with 45,536 shares but latley I have been able to aquire 475,628 since the decline in PPS,

I just wish I had the guts to sell out & buy back at .0033 or whatever it may go down to. To chicken.! Along with this post from schmoogiepie3 just to scared of being left in a cloud of dust.

Got some info here from techs out in the field that work in the Cable tv. companies "headend".

This is the room for Satellite recieving, components & connections.

Basiclly it is very simple. you either are going to ad a new device & hook it up,ad a new connection or component. Thats why I was so shocked at the delay announcement that Empire rote. I knew somthing else was up mainly because I didn't know his posting I searched back two days could not find a post he had written. I should have checked back further but I didn't. Sorry.

Like I posted earlier on the RB Investors Forum message board that a programming manager at RCN Headquarters has clearly stated a launch of the 1st of October because of the process of including us into their system. Let's hope they can work something else out that is closer to September of course but we'll see.

I knew without a dought this was not the reason for the delay.! Also that raging bull declaration created dought to.

The only way a cable co. gets people into their system is you have to call in with all your information. phone #, address, name, & sign you up for a sales package of some kind.


Other than that you would have already been in the system as an existing subscriber.

Here is my question to the techs.

Is it still possible for a delay in the launch of a television channel that is being broadcasted from Intelsat America's 7 , 129 degrees West, Channel 1... Cable tv companies in general have numerous dishes set up to recieve most broadcasters signal through out the U.S. Correct me if I'm wrong but if a cable company receiving signal from this bird already, to receive signal & to broadcast it to the general public should be some what easy except for a few adjustments &/or componet change outs. After all the company has had 2 monthes to prepare. why would there be a delay & what could cause it ?

The delay could be cause by a transmission or re-transmission agreement not being completly ironed out between the cable company and the channel you are wondering about.

T7 is still listing transponder 1 as a digital channel. I would guess this is the problem. Ive been working with a MSO that waits till the last minute to change over the channel. Its also possible they are still waiting for the equitment to do it. The broadcaster may have their own reciever is what I mean by that. It could also be wiating on the right paperwork to get to the right person who knows with systems today.



Still think somthing else is up. Just my humble opinion. I will post other replies as I recieve them. Good luck to all & GO Qbid..!!!!

They got the email Tuesday at 12:08 EST, I know because someone working for RCN in Boston is a good friend of mine and called me to tell me about this QTN update like he always does if theres one available.

I have been working for cable tv companyies for 20 years as a contractor from home intallation,MDU (multible dwelling units)Apartments, Trained & worked on feader line retrofit Which the cable company refers to as "PLANT". for digital upgrades. I have even worked for RCN as a contractor in the Washington DC. build for Starpower wiring up the high rise apartments.

Boy what a job, Personally I feel that was the financial down fall of RCN as the politics of the the whole city build in general had major extra work that had to be done the most expensive being, In parts of the city crews had to use those humungus road cutting machines with a, if recolection serves me correct 10 foot round blade. somewhat like a circular saw a carpenter uses.

The city had so many obsticals in its path they were bound to have financial problems sorry to say, At a meeting they had for all the contractors working on the project they stated they had $300,000,000.00 to complete the job. I was there heard it with my own ears.

I knew without a dought Empire was giving out wrong information,However unknown to him.

Then after the build was just about complete. They started doing installs in mostly all the apartments that had been wired up.

In my Scottrade account I can go back four years with a wonderfull chart that shows on a weekly basis the decline of RCNCQ, On 12/08/00 their stock closed out at $12.00 a share then others tried to save it on the week of 1/12/01 as the pps went from $5.00 a share to $13.00 a share then a steady decline since. Its a shame but life is hard. If they had started in a surounding county such as Montgomery county ( as that is how cable companies have "PLANT" rites. They can only furnish cable service in those county/city boundries.

I was not lucky enough, or should I say I was lucky enough, to not have bought in the first go round. LOL. as alot of people lost their investments.

I heard about Qbid on 4/08/2004 have been buying ever since holding 521,164 shares thats not as many or as long as the true longs & they are here at times.

Frank has learned a valuable lesson from the last go round, He is not announcing a PR. till it is signed & delivered. They allready have a Contract signed by RCN CABLE CORP. to air in San Francisco,Philadelphia,Chicago, NY,Boston,& DC. to name a few.
