Red, blue and green volume bars explained HERE!
http://uk.advfn.com/help/charts/studies/volume
The volume of units traded at the asking price, the buy volume, is plotted in blue.
The volume of units traded at the selling price, the sell volume, is plotted in red.
All the other trades are plotted in green.
If FNMA opens in this price range ($47) one day (after release from conservatorship after-hours or pre-market) then a never seen before short squeeze will follow the next days and will boost the PPS to a multiple of it. The "Volkswagen" short squeeze will be nothing compared to it. All IMO
tanja thank you, and what's your take on this one. All coincidence?
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=120602020
bkshadow, that was not my question. For sure the $151 bln. will not come back THREE times! I didn't even say it will come back one time! I just wanted to know if there is any relationship between the THREE $151 bln. figures. (except for the number "151" itself )
My both original questions:
* Pure coincidence or are there any coherences?
* Any ideas if this could be somehow related?
But your answer below suggests that you actually wanted to say that the result from the subtraction ($151 bln.) from screenshot 1) is by coincidence the same as the FDIC subrogated claim ($151 bln.) from screenshot 2) which is also by coincidence the same amount as the reduced cash assets from JPMC ($151 bln.) from screenshot 3), right? Just for the record...
A simple "YES" would be sufficient...
JusticeWillWin, wow, you've nailed it...
...so will $151 BILLION be coming back once?
...or will it be coming back three times?
...first from the FDIC-R from keeping it off balance sheet since seizure?
...then from the FDIC-Corporate, reported as the subrogated (insured deposits) claims paid?
...and finally from JPMorgan Chase from taking it from their customer deposits in 2016?
...thanks, great find.
tanja, did you receive any answers for this request by now?
I've mailed them:
Dear Sir Gray and Sir Nelson,
My name is Tanja Zielman, and I'm a freelance journalist and shareholder of Washington Mutual.
For an article in a national European newspaper about Washington Mutual's downfall, I am researching FDIC's Receiver Balance Sheet Summary for Washington Mutual Bank.
I have a few questions on the figures mentioned here:
https://www.fdic.gov/bank/individual/failed/wamubalsheet.html
- You mention a FDIC Subrogated Claim of $151.150 billion; where is this claim coming from? Who are the claimants?
- Also there is a mention of the same amount in Dividends Paid to date; to whom were these dividends paid?
Because I'm also researching the assets that went from WaMu to JPM, and I noticed 151+ billion in assets were NOT transferred to JPM, my question is the following:
- Does FDIC Receiver have assets in receivership that are kept off this quarterly balance sheet?
- If yes, why is this amount not disclosed?
- If no, where did the remaining assets go if they did not go to JPM?
I hope you can answer these questions. If otherwise, I can consult other sources.
Thanks in advance.
Sincerely,
Tanja Zielman MSc.
Now we wait.
3 times the $151 bln. figure! Pure coincidence or are there any coherences?
FDIC Inception Balance Sheet from 2008 (run date 2009):
Real Estate Mortgages ($191 bln.) - Asset Related Equity Adjustmens ($40 bln.) = $151 bln.
Current FDIC Balance Sheet for 2015:
https://www5.fdic.gov/drrip/bal/balancesheet.asp
FDIC Subrogated Claim is also $151 bln.
JPMC's current 8-k for 4Q2015 PDF page 10:
http://files.shareholder.com/downloads/ONE/1544720763x0xS19617-16-644/19617/filing.pdf
JPMC reduced cash assets in 2015 by $151 bln.
And finally tanjazielman's post for the $151 bln:
http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.aspx?message_id=112637444
Any ideas if this could be somehow related?
TIA
What's up? Why the increase in PPS and volume? News?
http://ih.advfn.com/p.php?pid=webchart&symbol=AEZS&period=0&size=19&volume=1
fwh3334zeke will be very happy that you rediscovered the $151 bln.
But I must admit it is a little bit strange that JPMC reduced the cash assets by exactly the ominous $151 bln.
But it could be pure coincidence...
The ominous $151 bln. Are you saying the reduction of $151 bln. in cash assets (on your linked PDF page 10, red circle) is the result of transferring it to the WMILT?
And that's why they also had to shed deposits in the same amount?
Thank you for clarification! SO KKRs considers WMIH as "non-organic = inorganic" opportunity. That sounds much better and makes more sense
Yes I know, but you've stated non-inorganic, not non-organic, that's a little bit confusing...
KKR Conference Call Audio replay at:
http://edge.media-server.com/m/p/54m6k6xw
The WMIH discussion is at the 40:00 minute mark. Chris Kotowski (?) of Oppenheimer asked the question. Thanks for the direction to the question by Chris. How KKR views us: "SPAC"
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special-purpose_acquisition_company
With KKR's performance this past year, they are being scrutinized closely. Later in the transcript, he mentioned that deals initiated in the last quarter (Q4) are "ready" starting to open up. They are intending to take advantage of lower valuations and enjoy the volatility of the current market per the mention at 48:41 Sandler-O'Neil's M&A question regarding organic v inorganic growth. WMI called "non-inorganic" opportunity.
Did they say "non-organic" as in your last post or "non-inorganic" as in your post before?
Another poster on a German board says it is impossible for KKR to sell a previously bought company like KFN or Mills Fleet Farm to WMIH in which KKR itself has a big stake. The IRS would consider this as a pure "tax avoiding model" which would nullify the NOLs or at least restrict them heavily.
What is your/other board members' view on this subject?
TIA
...that will exponentially change the book value of WMIH and should rock the PPS.
Does anybody see a possibility that Myron T. Steele is wrong and the NWS is legal under Delaware law?
TIA
Noboy questioned the existence of $298.8B assets as of 09/25/2008 I think, did you?
The OTS fact sheet stated $307.02B as of June 30, 2008 but they decreased the following months...
OTS Fact Sheet for Washington Mutual:

bkshadow, "after adjustments made by the assuming bank", you missed out the second part of the sentence:
"after adjustments made by the Assuming Bank for...
* normal operational and
* timing differences in accounts,
* suspense items,
* unposted debits and credits, and
* other similar adjustments or corrections and for
* setoffs, whether voluntary or involuntary"
And setoffs are not write-downs:
http://financial-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Setoff
and
http://financial-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/set+off
We already had this discussion, I say none of the points above justifies an adjustment of > $30 bln. by the assuming bank.
My post from last August containing the FDIC's internal balance sheet from 2008:

Important is the line BELOW the yellow marked line:
Asset-Related Equity Adjustments: -$40,214,712,639
Hmm, perhaps settlements better happen on a weekend than on a Thursday?
JPS (just pure speculation)
They've missed the gap for $0.01 I think. Too much buying pressure I guess...
Any predictions for the PPS after this PR?

Any ideas, what is the reason for this massive price drop? Will bad news from the courts follow? Or is this the last big manipulation to give all shorts the chance to cover their positions before the NWS will be voided by the Delaware Court?!?
There is no company out there that generates $1 billion annual profit AND can be bought for anything between let's say $500 million and $1.5 billion. Everyone would buy them!!!
A company that generates $1 billion in revenues perhaps, but not PROFIT!
Post 443919 for my opinion on what pps would be if WMIH Corp acquires any company with around $1 billion annual profit.
A Reverse Merger is not possible
From your qoute:
...The private company obtains the majority of the shells stock (usually 96 percent or more)...
And from the WMIH web page:
http://wmih-corp.com/about-us/
...and we are actively seeking acquisition opportunities across a broad array of industries
When can we expect the first rulings from the courts? TIA
It was an orchestrated walkdown on Friday IMO, so I think we will gain back the $0.40, probably not within one day, but perhaps by the end of the week.
Shortly after 3:30pm they "initiated" the drop. The PPS bounced back from $2.35 to $2.52 and after that the > 2 mln. trade @ $2.38 took place (orange circle). Strange.....

Break-out of the Bullish Flag confirmed IMO
The former resistance turned into support after the PPS broke through the upper flag line (green arrow) and then the PPS bounced off of the line

In the 15 minute chart I've also posted the upper line of the flag is accurate and shows the (successful) break-out. With the daily chart I wanted to set the focus on the uptrend, the flag itself and the (possible) continuation.
Break-out of the Bullish Flag? Needs confirmation today...
RSI bullish, MACD positive, Accum/Dist rising again

Could you please elaborate a bit on this? I don't understand what selling KKR's securities could have to do with a WMIH acquisition/transaction. Please explain...
TIA
Bullish Flag in the 15-Minute Chart
The PPS has to break the upper flag line to remain bullish and continue the rise.
