MUST BE BAD NEWS !!
WHO SAID $2.00.???
OOOOPS!
I think we are heading under a dollar, and then RECEIVERSHIP.
OUCH !!!
I wonder if there is some BAD NEWS coming?
A NEW MULTI-YEAR LOW.
But, but we have all of these new customers...
The trend is my friend.
Don't say BOOM, around LNG....
Not funny.
DOES ANYONE ELSE REMEMBER?
WHAT HAPPENS TO THIS COMPANY IF THEY TRIGGER ANY OF THE CARTESIAN COVENANTS?
UH OH !
Nope. Just a toy.
Nice Toy.
A one-off.
Not the best analysis of CLNE I have read, but Fool rarely is.
The author omitted that the increase in Natural Gas prices could also result in higher revenues for CLNE, although he did point out that the higher gas prices could negatively affect margins.
More importantly he omits that insiders seem to sell into every CLNE rally, which kills any positive momentum, time and again.
Finally he does not even analyze M-D, the positive effect it will have on sales, and the negative effect it will have on the bottom line.
He says that CLNE is too risky a buy for him, and based on his simplistic analysis I doubt he knows how to short this stock. Based on my analysis, shorting CLNE is the only way to take advantage of the poor management and insider selling.
Unfortunately FCEL won't be around in 2020.
Looking at the lease terms , the Honda costs about $60,000 for what is essentially a Civic, with no resale value.
This is why they lease only. No one would buy it otherwise.
MIAMI-DADE IS A LOSE / LOSE FOR CLNE.
It looks as if CLNE, has lost M-D to Trillium, but may have wangled a last minute reprieve…. It doesn’t matter, because Miami-Dade is a lose / lose deal.
First, CLNE could outright lose the M-D contract to Trillium creating (reinforcing ?) the stigma that this is a loser company. Losses in other bids along with M-D will leave the impression that CLNE is too expensive, or worse, irrelevant, hurting new, potential business going forward.
If CLNE wins, I suspect M-D will be a LOSS LEADER, so as to avoid the negative LOSER implications I have already mentioned.
Although the dollars associated with an M-D win look big, this contract is for a number of years, so the annual numbers are not as impressive. And if you are losing money on this deal over a number of years, those losses mount up, making overall profitability for CLNE more difficult to achieve.
WHEN IS THE FIRST DEBT TRANCHE DUE?
FEB? MARCH ???
But we don't got no dough.!!! UH OH
The future for this company is in BANKRUPTCY Court!!
Soon !
That's a GOOD THING because...
The FUEL CELL HONDA and TOYOTA cost about $60,000 !!!
$60,000 for essentially a Prius or Civic !!!
With NO RESALE VALUE !!!!
Who on this board owns one?
No thanks... I already covered my ENRON shorts...
Boom...We will see $1.00 before we ever see $2.00...
$375/hr and you are long PLUG???
What do you recommend for $1,000/hr.?
See you again under a dollar...
WAIT !!! You are long PLUG, and YOU are giving ME investment advice???
That's rich !! See you soon under a buck!
YESSS!! HUGE RALLY!
Banger the material changes you cite have already happened, and have not reversed the trend.
I think it is going to take a wholesale change in the management to save PLUG.
Andy and Co have zero credibility on the street, so any positives are considered lies, and totally discounted ... Like today.
Although the dollar numbers are much lower , the percentages are greater.
My two exists here are a material change which is strong enough to reverse the trend, or people stop offering cheap , otm options.
For the time being, PLUG is an ATM for me.
It is PLUG who is desperate.... They are at MULTI-YEAR LOWS!
How can I be desperate? I have been playing PLUG from the short side for 2+ years, and am DEEP IN THE MONEY.
NICE SPIKE!
Does anyone know what caused it?
Hub, this is a PR campaign by PLUG to try and stop the free-fall in the stock price. Everyone can see through the facade.
Good question. I always like to cover between Thanksgiving and Christmas, because stocks like this usually trade lower during tax loss selling season. It is also easier for me tax-wise to end the year neutral, and begin a new book in the new year, if the circumstances permit.
Right now, I am watching WPRT run, and I am trying to buy some OTM options into this rally. For everyone's sake I really hope it runs as high as possible, so that I can short some more.
WPRT has show dogged resilience, so then, I have had several opportunities over the years to sell into Dead Cat Rallies, and I hope to do so again this time.
Finally, ask yourselves, what has changed materially to have caused this rally?
Why? What has changed?
A mountain of debt is coming due, and we are not making any $$_.
This is a classic Dead Cat Bounce.
Someone in the Black Rock break room found a couple million dollars between the cushions of the couch, and bought 6.5% of PLUG.
I sold into that rally...It looked like another PUMP & DUMP to me.
I have been able to cover DEEP IN THE MONEY when Andy and Co. didn't deliver; and have been playing the short side ever since.
All sizzle...no steak.
Nope, not confused. Just short options.
What $10 short squeeze? I think you are confused.
I agree with you.
No one at PLUG has any idea what they are making on a unit basis..
I disagree with you about McD.
McD knows exactly what they make/lose on every cup of coffee...
Guess which company has the better management team?
OOOPS ! LOOK AGAIN.
$0.13 (13 cents) pre-split !!!
What a great company, what a great stock!
The last two press releases are light on meaningful information.
The first was the CFO patting himself on the back, for doing another toxic financing which cost us $0.04 per share.
Today's "good news" omits the meaningful $$$, just as the first PR did.
Both releases will actually do more to hurt shareholder value than help.
for those not arithmetically inclined ...
PLUG is trading in the low $1.00's for a reason. Today's "good news", will end up being a yawner, but it has reversed the trend...for the time being.
I feel it is going to take some MUCH BIGGER news than this to really move the needle.
Thank you, this explains why FCEL is within a few pennies of MULTI-YEAR LOWS.
I think the market has factored in all of that into the share price.
YOU ARE WELCOME!
I am just making sure everyone knows that PLUG is not a sound investment.
A NEW 2 YEAR LOW !!!!
I hope I don't have to read any more LOOONG posts about how great things are.
I am glad you brought up the Navigant Study...
Have any of their predictions or estimates come true?
They were predicting some pretty big numbers, but we're not seeing them.
ALL of the NGV manufacturers have been reporting falling sales numbers in the past few years, which is counter to Navigant's estimates.
Also, I find it telling that there has been only one study, which is patently in error. Why are there now other studies, if this is such an important industry?
250,000 IS WAY TOO HIGH !
I do not believe an industry puff piece, especially when government statistics though far from perfect, say less than 200,000 in the US and less than 7 million globally.
There are more Gas Stations in the US, than there are NGV's.
And the Honda story is false as well. You could still buy a 2012 CNG CIVIC made in 2011, in 2015...they were still sitting on the lots when the 2016's were introduced.
Do any Bulls know what the resale value is for a 2014 CNG Honda CIVIC ?
CAN ANY BULLS TELL ME HOW MANY :
NG TRAINS (the Choo-choo type)THERE ARE in the US?
NG SHIPS THERE ARE in the US ?
NG FORKLIFTS THERE ARE in the US ?
NG CARS THERE ARE in the US ?
Other than a few garbage trucks, buses and fleet vehicles, I don't see ANY at all.
So much for the NGV REVOLUTION...no wonder sales have fallen almost 30%!
