Doug, thanks for your article. Very technical It makes you very aware of the complexity of the steps involved REE processing. Appia energy. One year ago at $.13. (Another stock to regret not buying low!)
Zilidium; your article.
"Currently, 100% of the 50,000 tonnes of REE ore mined
in the USA annually is sent to China for processing, as the USA has no
refining capacity of its own yet. However, China’s strength in refining has
more to do with a historically higher tolerance for pollution than any
technological edge.
Well, lets hope UCORE ends up with one of the better REE Procressing facilities.

Bleed purple, Kmack; Chinese ownership. No thanks.
Chinese investment means a greater voice in choosing he board and who works for the company. China advances its interests by buying politicians, schools, our agricultural companies, our agricultural land.
Purchasing a country is easier than advancing their interests by military confrontation. Which would destroy the countries and businesses they want to own and control. At the end of the day they do not need to invade if they can buy us out.

Kmack! Land purchase opened the door. Number of people took some profits this morning, but NioCorp closed up today! Should stay over $1.00 US until financing. Spring, then ground breaking I hope! Good for us!
Off to do stuff, have a good evening!
Kasey; I think at this point they don't want to do anything that would require changes (or major changes) to the Air Permit.
I know that Scott was looking at some CO2 extraction method.
At this point I am happy to just watch the price go up!
GE: Rare Earth Salts is a private company in Beatrice NE.
Someone on this board indicated that Mark and Scott are aware of Rare Earth Salts. (One of their directors or owners died in 2018 and I think that changed their focus.)
(Slide, but probably relevant info for NioCorp shareholders.)
I think that RES works right now at refining REES from phosphorus from recycled Florescent lights. (Source feed stock from State of Indiana.)
https://beatricedailysun.com/news/local/rare-earth-salts-looking-to-grow/article_56e09d53-d5d2-5de0-acb7-3cf5097ca7b0.html
I think at one time RES had a working association with Medallion Resources. (Mllof).
https://rareearthsalts.com/rare-earth-salts-medallion-agree-produce-rare-earth-products/
MLLOF apparently has exclusive rights to a technology from Purdue University in Indiana for extracting REES from Monzanite feedstocks. (Purdue is located in Lafayette IN.)
MLLOF

Odd conjunction of Indiana connections, but I am not certain how much to emphasize this. I do not think there is a direct relation between IBC and Purdue but I could be wrong. ( NioCorp has been using Ames Ia lab for its Aluminum/scandium alloy.)
Doug; In view of the current push for N. American sources of REES I think that M.Smith wanted to associate Elk Creek clearly with the REE sector for the sake of potential investors.
"Yah, we have a processing facuility and we have REES (even though our processing facility is designed for Niobium,Scandium, and Titanium; (At This Time...)) Probably advertising Elk Creek as REE feed stock source to potential users.

Doug; The take away is that after their processing Search Minerals will need to send their concentrate out for additional separation and refining, UCORE will not.
(This supposes both firms obtain funding and eventually are able to mine their feed stocks.)
I suppose the additional processing is why Search is in collaboration with USA Rare Earth.

WalterC. In addition to today's Niocorp SP. surge, its record day for Elysee's dividend! Thanks for mentioning it in one of your posts.
Info on the dividend:

KMACK! GM, A.O., P.M. , All;
According to this story Fed was unable to tranfer money between banks for a time. I am NOT going to say that NioCorp broke the Federal Reserve, but it is a rather odd coinkydink!

"The Federal Reserve’s system that allows financial institutions to send money back and forth electronically went down for several hours Wednesday, but appeared to be coming back online later in the afternoon."

A. O. Thanks!
I am not particularly worried about NioCorp. I have a several other REE investments and they all went down today so it appeared to be the entire sector of these holdings. (I have 2 sectors and only 1 stock in the other sector! :)
A.O. Someone took profits right there at the end and the price collapsed. Good buying opportunity I suppose. (Hopefully not the "Lind" effect starting up again.)
Farml1234: Resolution of IBC lawsuits. Good. They can finally move on from that mess. Thanks for posting.
Chico, Stark, all The 2nd article is "By Associated Press" which should mean a wider audience. This will probably be cited in articles about the need for REES (Even though TNS are not technically REES.)
Note that this reporter gets it right: (Snip) "...formally exercised an option-to-purchase agreement... Once the purchase is finalized, NioCorp will own the surface land on which the Project’s mine infrastructure and supporting operations will be located."
This means that at some point we will have another story and more media exposure when the actual purchase is completed.
I would not be surprised to see a series of stories each time they exercise a purchase option which then gets reported in mining and financial journals. Hopefully they will be fairly close to one another, say every other week, and J.S. and M.S and Scott will use this to build additional interest by demonstration of progress beyond just "conceptual mining".
Besides the issue of options expirations and needing to get going on the project, it is a good time to do this before you have the complicating issue of crop plantings. (At least on Beethe 008 and adjacent properties.) No point in reimbursing the previous owner for the costs of plowing under some portion or all of his or her just planted fields. It's good optics and no cost evidence of thoughtfulness and common courtesy to your firm's new neighbors.
stark12
Cost of options to buy. I know what they are, I do not know what they cost. I expect that we probably wont see that until the next financial report.
Kaseymoe, all: Here on the border of KS/MO a few blocks from Kansas City the snow has disappeared except for piles on either side of the driveway. It will be in the 60s tomorrow. I am about 5-6 counties south of Elk Creek. It should be spring by the time they have secured the land they need. Lets hope Financing or Merger or Sale follows.
(Financing preferrably!)
Hetfield, Antler, PM, NE Goodlife, Always Optimistic, all
Once they complete the purchases I am pretty sure they will rent the land to local Farmers for the income and Scott will hopefully stick to mining and chemical process engineering! If they are not going to be using the land for anything else they should at least use it to generate revenue.
IF this is the case would it not be ironic if the initial revenues for NioCorp were from farming land rental?? :)
(Note that Land sales will generally contain a clause or covenant that allows harvest of existing or planted crops. Given that its February this is unlikely unless someone decided to plant winter wheat this year.)

Stark; Today would have been NioCorp's notification that they were exercising the option to purchase. The Property closing will occur later. I would not be surprised if they wait a while to close until they have exercised their options on any other properties they intend to purchase.
Jeunke, All;
As noted in their E-mail
"NioCorp Chief Operations Officer Scott Honan personally delivered this morning NioCorp’s option exercise to the southeast Nebraska landowner. Further details of the purchase were not made public at the request of the landowner."
Apparently Scott drove out from Tecumsa (Niocorps local office?) to personally exercise the option exercise. I wonder if he will also be drive over to some of the other landholders.
As some point soon they will arrange to close the purchase of the property. (Beethe 008?)
Then they need to scrape some dirt off the shaft site and bang a few siting stakes with orange florescent into the ground so they can say that the 18 month air permit "Begin construction requirement" has been met.

Walter, I did a search.
Wainwright target was $1.20 in 2018, but they are currently $.90 as you indicated. (Heike Ihln)
I found an article from 2015 in the Globe and Mail
https://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-investor/inside-the-market/tuesdays-analyst-upgrades-and-downgrades/article24252596/
NioCorp Developments Ltd. ( NB-T +3.49%increase
) was rated new "buy" at HC Wainwright. The target price is $1.75 (Canadian) per share.
So...the only $1.90 price target mentioned was by me in 2 of my 2021 posts here on this board! I am pretty sure we will reach that price sometime within a year, but that is pure opinion, not analysis.
So, everyone should do their own due diligence.
P.M. While I am purchasing OTC Fidelity always indicates that my trade will be routed to a Canadian broker.
The stock description reads:
NioCorp Developments Ltd. explores for and develops mineral deposits in North America. It owns and develops the Elk Creek niobium/scandium/titanium project located in Southeastern Nebraska. The company was formerly known as Quantum Rare Earth Developments Corp. and changed its name to NioCorp Developments Ltd. in March 2013. NioCorp Developments Ltd. was incorporated in 1987 and is headquartered in Centennial, Colorado.
WalterC; Thank you Walter!
If I remember correctly the previous Wainwright target was $1.90. (Uncertain if that was CDN or US.)
That would have been based on the expectation of full funding for the project. I take $.90 as an interim target with a much higher share prices after the remaining funding occurs.
Thoughts?
Tejas747; I moved out several weeks ago. Things I like; royalty income from their Mongolian coal mines. Sort of dislike it for the same reason. I think they have good holdings of silver, but all they do is drill for samples. They have a Vanadium mine in Nevada, scheduled to open this or next year. (We know how that goes!)
I have not followed the nickle mine. I have been watching REES and Scandium in other companies. I suspect SILEF be overextended in their holdings. Plan to hold and sell them sometime??
Good luck and good investing.
(I will still watch and might consider investing again in the future. )
(EVERYONE SHOULD DO THEIR OWN DUE DILEGENCE!)
