al44: They help Republicans win elections!
lj: They don't have a crystal ball. But it stands to reason that the Democrats will do everything in the their power to keep oil prices low next year.
ksquared: Rich Dems will pour tons of money into the race to make she doesn't win.
al44: do morons like this guy understand that "phobia" means 'fear of"? No one fears him, the clown.
NYBob: The Ukraine War is pretty much over. The sentiment in this country is against further funding.
If Biden wants more money for Ukraine, he should ask Zuckerberg for the money.
lj: Gas p;rices
Finally saw gasoline below $3, at $2.98, but was in the wrong lane to stop at the station! Down to a quarter of a tank. I'm holding out for $2.95 or less!
lj: GRRR
Good find. Thanks.
Katie bar the door, err, border. Why is she sending troops now? According to the real Governor (IMO), Kari Lake, she took down barriers at the border after the election. Is she part of a Democrat conspiracy to undermine Joe Biden so he will not be able to run again? This woman is disgusting. The mop atop her empty head says everything you need to know about her. Very professional looking. https://www.yahoo.com/news/arizonas-governor-sending-states-national-005246707.html
lj: I notice that XOM went back down to $100 and change. That surprised me. If interest rates come down next year, the dividend yield will seem very nice. I think they WILL come down, because, imo, there will be a recession starting in Q1.
Peon thesis, as you say.
lj: I don't think fuel demand will dip. People run around like crazy doing last-minute Christmas shopping. College kids are home, driving here and there. People are traveling by car. Airlines are booked solid. Fuel demand should be higher, imo.
DD: See, you are not capable of impartiality. TDS. Comparing Hunter Biden to Trump. A new low. Pathetic. Sad.
DD: Rudy Guliani is a crook? You are living in lala land.
DD: Speak for yourself!
lj: REI and GRRR
REI: Bought shares today, but realized afterward I should have waited until next week when there will be a lot of tax-loss selling.
I wanted to get it at the 52-week low.
My plan is to sell it next year with a $1 per share profit. Don't think that is an unreasonable expectation.
GRRR: Increased my holdings by 1/3rd. IMO, the law of averages should get it back to $1 at some point next year.
So, this peon has been buying junk today! Also bought a very small position in HUM. It has been hit lately.
This is the time of year to buy crap for a swing trade sometime next year.
lj: REI
U might think they are giving away shares of REI. I am not in the stock at the moment. Still watching.
lj: XOM down to $100 and change, but the $98 puts for next Friday are pathetic. Tells me big money thinks oil stocks will go up next week. Serf thesis.
lj: GRRR Will give it a few more quarters to see whether they land more contracts.
The Biden Administration's goal is to have 50 percent of vehicles sold in the U.S. in 2030 EV's.
Delusional. I don't think there will be a market for all of the lithium that could be mined:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-12823783/california-lake-lithium-supply-white-gold-ev-batteries.html
DD: I don't care about that stupid case. The woman named her
dog "vagina". Rape? Please.
lj: Oil had a good day. I didn't expect it to pop this week. Now I wish that XOM and VTLE would be put to me tomorrow at $98 and $40, respectively! If the contracts expire unexercised tomorrow, I'll repeat the exercise if the stocks drift back down.
nelson1234: BELFB
Have you seen the stock movement since Tuesday? I wasn't serious when I opined in a post to you months ago that it might go to $100, but now I am beginning to wonder!
NYBob: I love Epoch Times! Thanks for posting the news.
DD: Uh, Trump's indictments are the smokescreen. Why know? It is called lawfare.
The Republicans have the goods on Joe. Maybe not enough for a conviction in the Senate, but enough to make the general public aware of what a bunch of grifters the Bidens are. Hunter is headed to the big house, and he knows it.
lj: Only Marathon station I have seen around here is in Baltimore City, where I wouldn't stop, and the price is the lowest around.
DD: I am aware of the quote. They want to investigate Hunter, not Joe.
I have one word to say to you: Burisma. This is no way you can spin Joe's bragging about getting the prosecutor fired.
That is the smoking gun.
ksquared: More on the dance troupe--uh, oh! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12865453/Jill-Biden-White-House-Christmas-dance-troupe-radical-BLM-loving-activists.html
White House Christmas video:
Scroll down in the article to the video and check out.
It is being trashed mercilessly.
I really like it, believe it or now.
I am a fan of 1930's musical movies (love Fred and Ginger, Eleanor Powell). Christmas is really for children, and I think children will love the dancing characters.
You will like it or hate it. There is no middle ground.

DD: Burisma, Burisma, Burisma, Burisma, Burisma. Get it? Oh yeah, he should be impeached over the invasion at the Southern Border. Now go back to watching MSNBC.
Bitcoin power plant driving Pennsylvania country folk up the wall! https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12860009/PENNSYLVANIA-BITCOIN-SALEM-TALEN-Susquehanna-TERAWULF.html
lj: $2.64 at Shell is unbelievable! Gas is still hovering around $3/gallon here. I need to fill up today. Film at 11!
The $40 VTLE and the XOM $98 puts I've sold for tomorrow are almost in the money.
al44: Amen to that. On January 6 he would have been locked up. The people who promoted Byrd are evil, imo.
al44: Boston Mayor discriminates against whites? https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12859903/Boston-Democrat-Mayor-Michelle-Wu-christmas-party.html
al44: There is a trail of money from China to Hunter to his father, according to what I heard on "War Room". IMO, dragging Hunter into a hearing is a joke. They need a verifiable money trail. Otherwise, Joe will get away with it. The firing of the Ukranian prosecutor says it all. We know he is dirty (Joe), but Republicans need proof positive.
al44: He should be in jail. Instead, he is making $200K a year. That shows U there is a big coverup.
lj: BOIL is starting to simmer--up $2 the last time I looked.
NYBob: Here is the border bill I'd like Johnson to negotiate: for every one dollar in aid to Ukraine, the U.S. spends ten dollars on airfare to start sending back the illegals. BUILD THE WALL and SEND THEM BACK. PERIOD, END OF DISCUSSION.
Citizens are immune to the extent of the breakdown of the rule of law in this country.
lj: If the Ukraine war winds down, the military industrial complex will have to peddle their wares elsewhere.
You might be on to something.
lj: VLO They are the ones who are cleaning up!
lj: And, in January, the budget fights resumes in Congress. It will be ugly, because they will have something like 10 days to come up with a budget,.
The new President of Argentina is devaluing their currency 50 percent.
Don't think it cannot happen here.
wadegarret: inflation
I am not buying this. https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/inflation-cools-further-in-november-as-energy-prices-fall-housing-costs-remain-sticky-134857735.html
The war on fossil fuels has increased the cost of fertilizer, as well as the actual war in Ukraine.
This has caused food inflation, together with high labor costs and higher fuel costs for farmers.
Oil has started to move down, but for how long?
Food inflation and high rent are a big stress on any economy, imo.
When people get their January credit card bills, not to mention electric bills, I believe spending is going to fall off of a cliff.
And let's throw in higher medical insurance costs.
And, the Social Security cost of living increase of 3.something percent is a joke.
My guess is that a big recession will start in Q1.
Oh, yeah, AI. That is too miserable to contemplate. Wendy's is testing AI for taking orders in Ohio locations.
How many jobs will that kill?
Weird times are ahead.
