You can buy one on Mt.Read Blvd sometime next year.
This technology could go in a variety of different directions but it must first be proven via the Beta testing. Then, who knows?
Your concept might be used in the future but It appears they want to get the MyCadian proven to reduce mistakes and accidents for employees right now. I'm told by a tech guy that the accuracy of the circadian rhythm tracking is the big deal here. All they other features are not ground breaking but add value to the audience that they are looking to attract. He's not sure about the emergency call button. He says that other devices out there use heart rate to monitor activity which is a terrible way to track sleep and alertness.
It is my understanding that the MyCadian won't be able to tell if someone is drunk but it could tell if the drunk person was drowsy. Some states are including drowsy as a way of being impaired.
The projected price was announced at the annual meeting. $299.
Did you check the price? You can buy one In Rochester for $16,475. Hardly for mass use. I think the MyCadian is under $300.
Can the GPS that has been in watches for ten years notify a third party that you are in trouble and where you are?
Not if it is a condition of employment to wear the watch. It will also be interesting to see if the public buys the MyCadian instead of Fitbit type watches because it can do other things too. Like warning you on a trip if you are getting drowsy, pressing a button for emergency help, or GPS alert if you are knocked out in a ditch somewhere. It seems to me that this technology can save lives in many different ways.
I bet the baby boomer kept on driving after he yawned.

I hope the patent(s) are solid.

I won't predict the future. I will say, however, that I do not believe the smart people running this company would go to Beta testing if they were not highly sure that the results would be positive.
I did a little research on Alpha testing vrs Beta testing. It's very interesting. Alpha being the first letter of the Greek alphabet and Beta being the second. I especially liked the section on "What happens next." Click on the link below.

Subject: Report: Drowsy driving is a sleeper threat in crashes

Don't be too critical of American companies moving jobs out of the country. Some do it in order to survive rather than go bankrupt. Those countries don't have the same rules, regulations and costs that we do here. We need a reduction in regulations in order to keep jobs here. Companies are in business to make money. I've noticed that when they do they are a lot more generous with their pay and benefits. In the case of the MyCadian, it can save lives, cut insurance costs, and improve the quality of the lives of the employees. All the right things. Win win win all the way around. I have high hopes for this product because it makes a lot of sense for all concerned but I know there are no guarantees. My fingers remain crossed.
I just read that "As the smartphone and mobile devices get saturated Verizon and its biggest rival, AT&T, are hopeful that connecting more objects and appliances to their networks will provide new revenue." I say let one of them buy the MyCadian watch technology for the right price and CurAegis can keep the pump.
Verizon just acquired Fleetmatics Corporation, a vehicle GPS tracking company in Ireland for $2.4 billion. Fleetmatics makes software showing fleet operators vehicle location, fuel usage, speed and mileage, and other workforce data (no explanation of what that is.) The business pitch is that with this data it can reduce operating costs and increase revenue by boosting efficiency. Nothing mentioned about safety. Verizon previously bought Telogis, another telematics provider focused on mobile workforce management

Was JG predicting the demise of Kodak or the success of Torvec?
This is a perfect example of sleep possibly causing a death which results not only in a tragedy but also a huge lawsuit. IMO the MyCadian would be a cheap way of solving this problem.
What does that mean in English?
To me, this company is only 5 years old. I can go away with a profit right now but if they start selling the watch with a potential for the pump next year, there is a real possibility for a huge return. The time to get out was a long time ago; not now.
At this point, why would anyone want to sell?
We appreciate that. Can you do it again? BTW, you have to change your name because Torvec no longer exists. How about Captain CurAegis? Or is that DK's handle?
Just read an ad by Sleep Number Bed with optional "SleepIQ Technology". No technology to wear or turn on. All you have to do is sleep and it will "empower you to achieve your best possible sleep". Probably just tells you if you toss and turn a lot but I'm just guessing.
The Fitbit doesn't seem to do much for sleep monitoring. Lack of proper sleep is where the accidents and mistakes come from.
This was in Sunday's D&C. What do you think?

I can't disagree because if it doesn't sell, it's a failure. But this works and will be tested in the real world next month. It's not a concept. If it were a sure thing, you'd never be able to buy shares in this company at 40 cents a share. If there are sales, the upside is huge; if not, the downside is 40 cents a share. It's still a long shot at this point but I like the odds.
It's really more than a watch company. Anybody can have those made. It's the technology that this watch has that doesn't exist anywhere else. If that can be explained and sold, it's a winner.
I'm "all in" as the poker players say. But if I wasn't, yes, I would be buying more.
The 3 Pictometry guys, as Sammy pointed out were way more than sales guys. I over simplified their role. I think their forte is bringing a product to market. Someone correct me if I'm wrong. The best thing about going to the meeting is being able to walk around and talk to whoever you wanted to. I talked with about 5 people and they were all gracious and answered all my questions. They were ALL upbeat; particularly about the watch. They are also coming out with a bracelet so that people can wear that instead of a watch instead of having to walk around wearing two watches.
Yes. Bottom line is there's lots of enthusiasm by the CurAegis team; now officially no longer known as Torvec. A new stock synbol will be out soon. They will alert when FINRA approves it. Overall I was impressed with how everything is being tied up together. Lots of professionalism in all areas. They had 13 employees last year and have 23 today. Three sales guys were added from Pictometry. They need to sell about $1.2 million more of the 25 cent C-3 shares to keep everything going. They will be out of cash in about 5 months if they don't. That didn't seem to bother anyone. Many employees were wearing the MyCadian watch. The watch will sell for $299 and then a monthly fee to monitor the results. Specific results only go to the employee or whoever the employee wishes to share the information. They will field test the watch in about 8 (might be an incorrect # on my part) places soon. One place is the Newark NY police department. The watches are made in Ogdensburgh, NY (hope I got that town right). They have a company lined up in Canada so that they can have more built if needed and to have two different manufacturers. They have an advisory board of 5 PHD's and an MD neurologist. My overall impression is that this is starting to become a real company. The only thing I'm not happy with is that we have to wait for it to happen. Oh, the pump is 8-12 months from being sold but passed all the tests solidly.
Do you know the date of the application?
In the March 31 10-q it said that management believes that a production prototype would be completed in 2017.
I was a little concerned when it got down to 26 cents yesterday on large volume. Glad to see it recovered.
Not yet. Last I saw it's 9 months away. As if you didn't know.
Who is the guy that sold all his Torvec stock at around 50 cents a share and said let him know when the pump was ready?
Getting closer to the annual meeting. Hope to hear more than "Wait 'til next year."
I think the public will see this as competition for the watch. It does everything that the Fitbit does and more according to the brochure. Hopefully the MyCadian watch is more accurate. Could be a big selling feature if it is. Product liability is always a risk but this product is supposed to keep accidents from happening; not cause them. I would assume that Torvec would have insurance for any product liability.
