At this point, a probable yes. But will see what happens with it up until then. Days like today is nice (10% up).
Let's get our other ones to "Bust a Move" like IPCI.
Thanks
IPCI - $3.40 - Earnings Friday Jan 30, 2014
Reminder that IPCI earnings is scheduled for this Friday. I'm not sure if its before the bell or not.
OT: Poor Job - I've done a very poor job in the last week of locking in my gains. I had 20% gains on 4 of the 6 in my portfolio. The gains were sitting there for days and I never took the 20% and ran and moved on, or sold 1/2 even. Am doing very well on my entry points with my positions. I just need to work on the exits more still and also trust the charts.
Smurf reminded to take the gains on the up days. I didn't. Shame on me.
These last few days were coming and I knew to take the gains. I didn't. Will try not to make that same mistake again.
Will be looking to get gains on any of the positions I hold and then re-evaluate the overall market, before buying in full force again. IMO, small corrections of 5%-10% or so seem to take 6-12 weeks from start to completion.
I'm keeping this in mind, so that any rally at the moment, may be short lived, or the charts may continue the trend lines. But will be watching everything closer than I have been.
BOL to all. Have to admit failures as well as successes.
DARA - Am using the Orphan Drug Designation as the basis for the short term price movement and hopefully for a floor to keep the price from falling too much during days like the last few the market has had.
Will sell at least 1/2 of my lot on any solid movement up ($.15-$.20) move. May sell 1/4 on even a $.10 move
Morning... Let's hope for one of those "Turnaround Tuesdays" as they're called after the Trap Door Monday. I'll take slow and steady up today, that'd be alright with me.
I'll take just not going down ...as a positive :)
WAVX - $.93 - Really liked the chart going into today, but since the whole market rattled and no extra funds. Will be a watcher of it now.
DARA - $.71 - Added 1,400 @ $.71.
Holding 10,500
Yes, very well, like a shiny emerald. Hope its able to hold up for you and then do well next week on feb 3rd if my memory is correct.
Then what usually happens after it goes down 10%?
Everything for the most part taking a good beating. ACHN, IPCI, MSTX, DARA, YADA YADA (if those were symbols - they'd be hurting too :)
Morning Smurf...all.
Gives the market a kick and says "Thatta way ...pointing up."
(gotta try anything)
You are welcome. I enjoyed listening and learning, so am thankful that you posted about the interview.
This stock came up recently in a scan for me, so am getting familiar with it. I like the chart setup.
In the interview Mr. Solms touched on TPM. With security being an ongoing issue for everyone, it was interesting to hear about TPM - Trusted Platform Module authentication, which is apparently already being installed in many computers, but isn't used yet.
It burns in keys into chips during production and then creates a summary of the software and hardware and keys to verify that the device has not been altered. From what I understand, this information is then passed on along with the user's ID and password to add an extra layer of security.
Mr. Solms also talked about self encrypting hard drives and the fact that if a computer is lost or stolen, the fact that it is encrypted automatically, means that a healthcare company for example, doesn't have to report the information as being lost or stolen because it cannot be viewed. Or something along those lines, if I heard correctly, and would let them off the hook from being liable for restitution of costs associated with data misuse. I'm not sure how valid that is, but its interesting.
Your thoughts on this company?
I believe that this might be what you're looking for. Here is the link to the interview:

Bill Solms is the 2nd Segment.
Thanks. You too and we'll get 'em next week.
Andrew, I'm not in that one or follow it, so I'm not sure. I believe Smurf had a posting about it popping the other day and then like you mention he said something about making sure to lock in profits as it came back down.
AMBS - Tweet from Jason Napodano
Smurf, I ran across this tweet while perusing the Twitterverse for updates on some of our holdings. Thought you might like to keep watch for it.
wcoastguynca : Took some profits in $AMBS. Gerald's recent comments makes it seem that LymPro won't be a near term catalyst. Your thoughts?
Jason Napodano, CFA @JNapodano
@wcoastguynca No. You've missed something subtle, but very important and potentially enormous. I'm working on an update now.
OT : COLD - It's 10 degrees out and 40-50 MPH winds. I'm not sure if its colder outside or in the market.
On the plus side. Taking the dog out to poop only takes 30 seconds before he gives me that "holy crap - its cold look" and darts back into the house.
KIPS - $.72 - Joined you for 5,000 @ $.72. Trying not to be overly picky and wait out a price at $.70. If it goes to $1 or $.90, it doesn't really matter.
Thanks
OT: I'd really be interested to see if I could find out what % of stocks that hit $.90 - go on to hit $1.00. I'd bet there's a psychological aspect to it more-so than a stock going from $.70 to $.80.
Same for any $.90. If a stock hits $2.90, does it always hit $3.00? Just a random thought. I wondered that when a stock like IGXT hit $.90 today, and if the psychological aspect comes into play, then maybe one should always wait until it hits the even $ mark, even if technicals show its over-extended.
CHTP - NovaPharma was one of the few that were strong before CHTP's Adcom stating that he'd thought they be approved and he was stating that he was buying, buying, buying.
Just an FYI if anyone wishes to follow him. I have no affiliation with him.

TTNP $.75 - Jason Napodano JPM article
link: http://seekingalpha.com/article/1961971-notes-from-one-on-one-meetings-during-san-fran-biotech-week-day-1
TTNP and no, not now. I liked her when she was down and dirty at $.60 and she would let me watch. Now that's she's $.75, she's too good for me :)
Thinks she's all that. If she comes back down to earth. Then maybe. A $.15 pop is all I need.
OPTIONS - FYI It was as I thought...
UP
If you think the stock will go up, then you "buy to open" a CALL and then when you want to sell it, "sell to close" the CALL.
DOWN
It is exactly the same terminology when you want to buy a PUT, even though you are wishing for the stock to go down. You still will use "buy to open" and "sell to close" the PUT.
Those are the most basic types of options. So, I'll stick with those for now.
I'm comfortable with doing the Calls. Have done 50 or so in the past. I just wasn't positive with doing Puts with the terminology as you are wanting the stock to go down (so wasn't positive if you're "selling to open" and "buying to close." But I believe its the same. I checked some few sites and I'll look it up again to see. Thx.
That's great about ELTP. I really haven't had a chance to look at it and some of the others posted here. Hope to do so in the next few days. I had been wanting to move to cash somewhat, so got close to buying some today, but held off for once. It's hard to do so, but I'd rather make the right trade, then to trade for trading sake.
Held my own today considering the market. Down $250 on the day after IGXT sale.
Holding:
ACHN 1,700 @ $3.37
DARA 9,100 @ $.72
ETRM 2,000 @ $2.31
IPCI 1,000 @ $3.90 (thought about kicking IPCI out and buying back again soon - but held)
MSTX 7,700 @ $.82
Sold the small 500 of CHTP a few days ago with 25% or so I think. I think it'll go up, but just was plain tired of looking at it :)
Will be watching GSS if the market rebounds and it falls to support. then I'm adding it. Will also look to add some IBB puts and perhaps some SDS or QID calls next week if the market makes a new high. Am looking for the 5-10% correction sometime soonish perhaps. Am thinking of getting some options as hedges for my account.
$.06 purchase on those is FANTASTIC. Way to stick to the plan.
Held and Pop :)
Just my 2 cents, but I think DARA makes a run here. You have some support for a pop. $.81
DARA Update per SA - Jason Napodano JPM Conference

Dara Biosciences Inc. (DARA): Meeting took place with Dr. David Drutz, MD, CEO, and Chris Clement, President and COO
It was a great meeting with DARA Bio, but we'll cut directly to the chase and say right up front - there was no update on the status of the pending orphan drug application for KRN5500. We've covered this topic several times in 2013, and our most recent article can be found on Seeking Alpha, so there's not much more to say on the subject. We spent the majority of the meeting talking about the recent sales force and product expansion and the company's now six commercial assets in Soltamox, Gelclair, Bionect, Binosto, Ferralet 90, and Aquoral. Below is a fantastic slide from the company's investor presentation showing how DARA plans to leverage these six products into becoming a big player in the oncology and supportive care specialty pharmaceutical market.
Management told us the sales force expansion has been completed and the 20 new representatives should be in the field by the end of January 2014. The company spent much of December training and educating the new reps. There will be a national sales meeting in February 2014 to officially kick-off the new campaign. Throughout 2013, DARA had only five reps and three products. We expect that a four-fold increase in sales reps and a two-fold increase in product offerings will dramatically help drive the top-line in 2014 and beyond.
We believe DARA's stock remains attractively valued. Revenues in 2012 were non-existent. For 2013, we model revenues at $0.35 million, again…pretty low. However, based on the recent sales force expansion and the three new products DARA is now co-promoting from Mission Pharmacal, we think DARA can do over $2.0 million in revenues in 2014 and $10 million in revenues in 2016. DARA's market capitalization is only $22 million right now. If our modeling holds, the stock should be trading at over $1.00 by year-end 2014, and that is based solely on the six current marketed products and has no value for KRN5500. We think orphan drug designation on KRN5500 could triple the market value of the company. A licensing partner will probably be announced soon after the FDA's decision. Our conclusion is that investors can buy DARA now and get both an emerging specialty pharmaceutical story at a reasonable price, and a Phase 2b drug in KRN5500 for free.
Nice going. I was too chicken to wait for the target of $.90 on this down market day. Was afraid market might pull it back down. Good job!
Thanks. I was being too greedy and wanted the $1.43 wabbits, when I probably should have taken a starter at $1.48 when I had the chance.
Will keep watching and thinking on it too.
ISR - $.82 - Watching it here. I think the 15 Min Chart is a bit overbought for my taste (Full STO), so if it that pulls back and my finger is ready, I may jump in. I'm a little wishy-washy on the market overall - but "buying on weakness" is half the trade.
Thinking about it. Catalysts?
OT : Options Questions about Puts
I've bought and sold Calls before with no problem, and am looking to start doing some Puts now.
For Calls : If I think a stock will go up, I "buy to open" for the call, and then "sell to close" when I want to sell the option. I've never held to actually buy the security, have always sold before expiration.
--------------------------------
For Puts : Am I correct that if I think a stock will go down, then its still the same terminology? I also "Buy to open" and then "Sell to close" when I want to sell the option?
Am looking into buying some Puts on the IBB as its gone crazy. Kinda like hedging some of the bios that I have. Also maybe buying some Calls on TZA, etc.
Thoughts? Thanks.
NAVB ($1.86) - Looks interesting. 50 MA is $1.84. Showed support here back on Jan 14th too.
ONCY - ($1.86) Up 6% on crappy market day.
I'm not in it. Snoozy finger again.
RGDX - Son-a-va. Was hunting RGDX wabbits to join you and then $heff started talking about it at this level. I snoozed with my finger :)
Thanks. Got lucky when i got in at that price ($.61 - happened to be watching when it hit). I posted this response to Sheep first (not sure if he's in it), thinking it was you....
Watching to see if it pulls back in the next few days, might re-enter. If not, that's fine and hoping you can keep cashing in on it. Go 'get 'em Smurf.
Will watch to see if it falls back some. Wanted to take some green on the red day and lock it in.
Maybe I should call the FDA and schedule a temporary meeting to hold the date for ETRM?
