Well, you know how it works. "Hey boss, we shorted the crap out of this one, but it's about to grow. What do we do?" "Short some more so we can cover" "Boss, we shorted some more, and it keeps trying to go up" "Well, then short some more and see if we can cover lower" "Boss, we shorted some more..." and so on. Eventually, it takes a life of its own, and whoever shorts it can't stop shorting.
I'm not in it, all the money's tied up.
Was down about $7K yesterday, 2K today, about 22K up last week. You win some, you lose some. APWR brought me down about $3.5K at some point today (got in at 17), still holding it. Etrade didn't execute the stop for some reason, otherwise I'd be out at 16.85 to 16.70 or so (the volume's low, so it might've taken the order down that far), and re-buy lower.
Out of VIT at the average of 6.0376. Might've left some money on the table, but I like taking profits :)
Umm, that's retail :)
What news is out?
Never mind, got it.
I say, they should communicate all that better than the new IR guy did :)
It'll be there :)
Just larger stakes and holier-than-thou attitude, is all :)
Learning as much TA as I can :)
Yeah, they're beginning to make good wine that's organic. Before, those two weren't compatible ;)
http://www.presidiowinery.com/
According to her who shall not be named, the "organic and biodynamic" part doesn't make it taste any worse, as evidenced by the box we brought from there (now about half-full). The best grape juice (unfermented) I've ever tried, too, they sell it by the jug (that one's long since gone :() :)
Makes the two of us. Umm, make it a few hundred, at least :)
Check out Presidio Vineyards. My girlfriend tried them not so long ago (we were passing by them on the way to Santa Barbara), and she liked them a lot. Can't give you a firsthand opinion, as I don't drink.
Yep, and if he's right, I'll be cheering :)
Well, if that's the case, it'll be all good. My core position is a bit over this price, so if it gaps up, I'll have something to sell, and get more on some dip. If it doesn't gap and goes down, I won't lose the daytrafing money.
Put the bottle on the button and see what happens :)
Not at this specific price, no, but I've seen it stall many times before.
Heh, pumping iron vs. pumping blood pressure, looks like at least someone got it down :)
We'll see what tomorrow brings. I don't like having a position overnight unless I'm long in it.
Hmm, for all that, have some class.
Well, I simply don't have much to say, so I don't say anything. I'm down about $700 on my core position, and I did a couple of really small daytrades on this, it turned faster than I expected. Waiting on the sidelines to see where this goes (still have my core position though).
I didn't comment on the article, but the impact they usually have.
Articles in WSJ usually have a serious impact.
Heh, point taken :)
Oh no, you're in it? I should've known! :)
Quite a swing on APWR.
Actually, a better option would be downgrading to XP Professional, provided there're XP drivers available for your system. Vista has a lot of issues with drivers, stability, etc., while XP has those worked out.
Pity you bought it with Vista Home and not Business, as Microsoft licenses are downgradeable, so you could've used the same license for the older OS. Vista Business (including Ultimate) is downgradeable to Windows XP Pro, Vista Home - to XP Home.
Umm, market cap is PPS times the O/S. Of course, they go up and down together, brainiac :)
Picked up 4.50 and 4.39's... Let's see how this unfolds.
Pretty bad, and hopefully inaccurate :)
"Not every pick we make is going "to da moon"...but I must say I am suprised and downright awestruck that people have the nerve to question us about trades made months ago...or why didn't we keep this one or why did we sell that one..."
Well, I was afraid that this would happen, as it usually does. With quite a few people, you give a finger, they'll bite off the arm, or at least expect to. It's quite evident on other boards, as well. It's pretty sad, really.
Myself, I'm glad that I found a place as open as this one, where I can learn, and I'm grateful to the people running it. Umm, that includes you, too, despite that disgustingly organized desk of yours :)
Can't, I'm a pessimist by trade. And trust me, you don't want me to be an optimist. "It can't possibly get any worse" - "Yes, it can". Now that's my kind of optimist :)
I really don't like being right when I'm pessimistic ;)
Hmm, it depends more on what you negotiate while you're in power than anything else. Look at the Countrywide CEO and how much he got.
It often goes up in the morning. Let's see how it closes.
Voting :)
See, you're good now :)
A mess, that's what it'd do :)
Can't find anything, except for some people on Yahoo boards atalking about Feb 8, as mentioned here before, as well (although some people say March). It does usually file those late though.
