There are over 300 comments pertaining to the NYT article - many of them negative and written without actually having read or understanding the entire article.
Rebuttal replies are needed from a variety of usernames to set the record straight on the many wholly erroneous comments. It's obvious many commented based on what they think of mining in general not what was there in print.
I still see the article as a plus but the 300+ comments tend to negate or at least confuse many aspects of the Elk Creek story. Left unanswered they become Part 2 of the story.
Very impressive profitability numbers.
Other mining ops should do as well.
Adding shares here and there. Do you see any X factors to inhibit further growth and share price rise?
How 'bout them Chiefs?
I have great faith in this project and the team leading it. I'll be there for the groundbreaking this coming Spring. Just as I have planned to be there at each seasonal change for a year. "Next summer. Next fall. Next Spring." etc. This feels closer.
I do wonder about.the effect of the outtake agreements. Will Niocorp have enough unspoken-for product to interest a new entity or take part in other loan programs? Perhaps I don't know enough of the outtakes.
The facts you cite about new hires are more reassuring that most of the other evidence which has a degree of "faith" attached to it. Advertising for and hiring that number of people with very specialized skills and know how is only done if they are needed in the here and now.
This aircraft is cleared for immediate takeoff on Runway 19R.
Artemis launch, the Orion Spacecraft, the moon and Niocorp.
What do they have in common? After the Town Hall I spoke with Dean Kehler of GXII and told him I was very pleased with the collaboration between Niocorp and his group. He smiled broadly and said "We are over the moon enthusiastic about our relation with Niocorp"
Dean Kehler is a heavy hitter and his comments were 100% genuine - so when you see the moon and know that our Orion spacecraft is orbiting the moon tonight - think of Niocorp and be like Dean Kehler - "over the moon" with enthusiasm.
Niobium discovery in Maine --- USGS announcement. The article improperly terms niobium a Rare Earth Element but also uses the critical mineral term.
https://www.usgs.gov/news/national-news-release/scientists-discover-significant-critical-minerals-potential-northern
From the article:
A fine-grained volcanic rock (trachyte) that hosts rare earth elements, niobium, and zirconium, all which are considered critical mineral resources. This rock was found on Pennington Mountain in Maine. Image courtesy of Chunzeng Wang, University of Maine-Presque Isle.
....
Geological exploration would be required to know whether this discovery might be an economically significant deposit. “If mining is eventually considered, a rezoning application would need to be submitted to DACF’s Land Use Planning Commission,” said Maine Land Use Planning Commission Acting Director Stacie Beyer. “It would need to meet Maine’s stringent environmental standards, including at least two years of baseline environmental monitoring before a mining permit application could then be submitted to the Maine Department of Environmental Protection.”
....
Analyses of these samples show that they chemically match similar rocks in eastern Australia and central China that are known to be enriched in rare earth elements, niobium, and zirconium. Rare earth elements are important components in electronics like smartphones, as well as renewable-energy applications like wind energy and battery components. Niobium, meanwhile, is an essential element in steelmaking, and in superalloys used for things like jet engines. Zirconium is primarily used in ceramics, as well as some superalloys.
Signed up self and wife for lunch the day of the announcement came out but no confirmation in return yet. We live in Kansas City so it's an easy 2 1/2 hour drive. Cold rain here today.

At that meeting five years ago we all hoped or assumed we'd be under construction by November 2022 although no specific timing was promised. We are definitely farther along the path with most milestones behind us.
Has date, time and place for the annual meeting been announced yet? Hope it's a real celebration this year ...same hope for several prior years but feels like we're very close this time.
I was pumping gas at HvVee gas station - affiliated with the HyVee grocery chain. A gasoline tanker truck was nearby and I asked the driver which terminal he was out of - expecting to hear Phillips or Kaw as local terminals I'm familiar with.
He replied, "Magellan". I'm sure he didn't expect me to know of Magellan but I told him I knew that company and in fact was a shareholder. He took that in stride but I doubt that one out of a random 1000 people would know anything of Magellan.
I knew the company had storage operations in the Fairfax District of Kansas City, KS. Did not know it was a terminal for finished gas and diesel products and distribution point for gas delivery companies - this one was Groendyke.
MMP went above $50 in July and I was hopeful it was there to stay but not the case. Precipitous drop below $50 and now at $45.66 this Monday morning 9-26-22. I'm long term so it doesn't matter much to me and the next dividend will buy more shares if it remains below $50.

I have seen quite a few Ford vehicles with the Titanium trim line designator on their rear deck lately - that's the top trim line on their Edge and Escape vehicles.
Hope soon to see them add Scandium and Niobium trim lines. May be a while before we see the Neodymium-Praseodymium trim line but I'll be looking for it.
Great news this morning and I expect more of the same in the next four months.
Another interview - this with Commodity TV host Jochin Staiger interviewing Mawson CEO Ivan Fairhall. Twelve minutes. First topic is the mag survey findings from Rompan-Rajaplot. Also discussed - new Board member and Southern Cross in Australia.
How long can the good news continue without reaction in share price? . Need to get back to the .30 to .40 USD range and move up from there.
https://www.commodity-tv.com/play/mawson-gold-ceo-insight-on-importance-of-magnetic-survey-pea-coming-in-october-2022/
Host Staiger emphasized that the Mawson market cap is covered by the value in Southern Cross alone. Same point was made in the earlier interview with Gerardo del Real.
Some biographical material on Ivan Fairhall:
Mr. Fairhall is a chartered engineer and mine finance professional with over 15 years of mining industry experience. Most recently he was a Senior Investment Manager at Greenstone Resources, a London based mining private equity fund of US$500m AUM, investing in development stage companies with robust projects that can be funded through to production standalone. Ivan was integral in sourcing, executing and managing a portfolio of Greenstone's investments, which covered the base, precious and bulk commodities across a global mandate. Ivan represented Greenstone both on public company boards and on project level steering groups. Previously he worked in design, construction and commissioning roles, and has considerable experience managing pre-development studies across the commodity and geographic spectrum.
Strong interview with CEO Ivan Fairhall and Geraldo del Real of "Resource Stock Digest" where he described Sunday Creek as a "free" asset for Mawson Gold - meaning the value of Sunday Creek alone is equal to the current share price. Buy Mawson for the Finnish project and get Sunday Creek as a bonus with valuation to show up soon in share price. The recent drill results are highlighted.
The link and the whole interview provided in video and text form .

The concluding comments after CEO had discussed both Sunday Creek and Rajaplot District:
Gerardo Del Real: {doing the interview} Free gold, free cobalt, exposure to one of the most exciting gold discoveries in Australia. If that doesn't make the case, I don't know what does, folks. I joke about buying winter coats in the summertime. If you're going to be a contrarian in the space, which is how I've been fortunate enough to make the bulk of my money, you have to buy when no one cares. Again, I don't think I can present a more compelling case. Ivan, thank you for your time. Anything to add to that, sir?
Ivan Fairhall: No, I think we've covered it. There's a lot going on, and that's a really great time for people to be taking a lot a look at Mawson.
Today's run up probably relates to yesterday's (Aug 10th, 2022) press report of wide and decent intercept at Sunday Creek-
At 11 am CDT Thursday , Aug 11th, MWSNF up 24% to 0.1233. -- not a great share price for a stock that traded between 0.25 and 0.35. two years ago. I have pared down to a minimal holding. Be glad to see it become successful in either or both countries, Finland or Australia. But even $.50 a share won't impact me by much given meager holdings at present.
Time to buy back in or continue to watch and wait? Have been watching and waiting since the play was in Sweden only. Like the "story" but it's time to read of a path to production in the Rajaplot District. Company charts are not even showing "production" anymore - formerly they did make a forecast but for years well in the past. it's been a very long march but exploration money continues to be available.

Sunday Creek drill results - Australian gold project

Ivan Fairhall, Mawson CEO, states: "Sunday Creek continues to deliver for its shareholders, of which Mawson is its largest. These results demonstrate the continuity of widths and grade in the Apollo shoot around the earlier spectacular result in SDSC0033.
This following segment seem like pretty old as it references a year old document.
"Details of Mawson's Inferred Mineral Resource at Rajaplot Finland can be read in the Company's news release dated August 26, 2021." Lots of drilling with no new estimated resource.
The September 8th talk will be a great birthday gift especially if preceded by a good and meaty announcement that names at least one name.

Psilocybin is "everywhere" - everywhere in mainstream news lately Here's a link to CNN Health article on the many uses for psilocybin.
M2Bio is in the right space hope it's far enough along to ride this wave and go international in 2nd half of the year or i n 2023. We're too late to be on the crest of the first wave but that's ok - let's not be "too late" to at least ride the wave.
https://www.cnn.com/2022/06/11/health/psilocybin-brain-changes-life-itself-wellness-scn/index.html
From the article:
Based on this research, the US Food and Drug Administration has described psilocybin as a breakthrough medicine, "which is phenomenal," Mycologist Paul Stamets said.
Psilocybin, which the intestines convert into psilocin, a chemical with psychoactive properties, is also showing promise in combating cluster headaches, anxiety, anorexia, obsessive-compulsive disorder and various forms of substance abuse.
"The data are strong from depression to PTSD to cluster headaches, which is one of the most painful conditions I'm aware of," said neurologist Richard Isaacson, director of the Alzheimer's Prevention Clinic in the Center for Brain Health at Florida Atlantic University.
"I'm excited about the future of psychedelics because of the relatively good safety profile and because these agents can now be studied in rigorous double-blinded clinical trials," Isaacson said
More on Southern Cross' strong gold intercept. Coud Souther Cross ecllipse Rajaplot? I don't think so but it's generating more news currently and may be earler to production being in an easier locale.

Mawson Gold's Subsidiary Southern Cross completes IPO and is on AustralianStock Exchange
https://www.marketscreener.com/quote/stock/MAWSON-GOLD-LIMITED-1410731/news/Mawson-s-Subsidiary-Southern-Cross-Gold-Lists-on-the-ASX-40467704/
The text:
reports that its majority-owned Australian subsidiary, Southern Cross Gold Ltd ('SXG'), has announced it has closed its initial public offering ('IPO').
Its common shares commenced trading on the Australian Securities Exchange ('ASX') on the 16th of May, 2022.
Takeaways for Mawson Shareholders
SXG has raised A$9.1 million in its IPO, bringing total raised since January 2022 to A$11.8 million
SXG Market capitalization of A$32 million (A$19.2 million for Mawson's 60.3% interest) based on the end of its first day of trading closing price of A$0.205 per share
SXG will focus exploration at Sunday Creek
10 new drill holes have now been sent for assay with results to flow as they are received
Previously reported highlight drill intersections included 21.7 metres @ 4.7g/t gold and 1.0% antimony, and 3.0 metres @ 41.4g/t gold and 12.0% antimony
Strong support of the IPO is an endorsement of SXG's Australian projects and strengthens the asset base of Mawson.
SXG has its own management team, self-funding capability and access to additional capital through its listing on the ASX.
Ivan Fairhall, Mawson CEO, states: 'This successful IPO clearly demonstrates the value created for Mawson shareholders, through careful project identification, skilled exploration effort, and considered capital markets strategizing. The C$17.2 million market cap of our SXG stake equates to over half of Mawson's total market capitalization today, and this helps us shine a light on the value upside potential of our million-ounce gold equivalent inferred resource in Finland - to be articulated with our in-progress PEA and ongoing exploration efforts at Rajapalot and Skelleftea North.
SXG is now well funded for future success in exploring its exciting new discovery portfolio, and Mawson is very pleased to maintain a strategic stake in this business. On behalf of the Board of Mawson, I thank the SXG team for its hard work and congratulate them on this significant achievement.'

Holding the same dividend without skipping any thru the pandemic was impressive. Hope company can get back to longstanding pattern of gradually increasing the payouts agan but just holding steady over the past two years is very good.

Swedish drill program begins. For first time Mawson expresses a rathet muted description of the flagship Rajaplot project. Candor is welcome but rare in mining.
When will Mawson move from a long term drilling outfit to a long term production outfit? Still appears to be years In the future. At age 77 I may not be here to see it.
I would like to see a intra-day chart for any given stock - say LWLG - over the past 30 days or 45 days to see if there is an discernible intra-day trend. I have not found a stock screener which will construct such a chart.
Anyone?
Article on the need for critical minerals and cobalt s certainly critical to electric vehicles. A European source looms very attractive as attention on child labor in the DR Congo receives more attention.

At the beginning of last year, Jan 1st, 2021, it seemed "very likely" that we'd see financing and maybe even ground breaking before the end of the 2021. Now, mid April 2022 I'm not too confident we'll see either event this year. The probabliy is greater than say 30% but sure less than 100%.
I'm still confident the mine will be financed and construction will begin but unsure about the timing.

Mawson seeks funding for Aussie spin-out
TSX-listed Mawson Gold has followed through on its plans to spin-out its Australian assets onto the Australian Securities Exchange in order to focus on its Scandinavian interests, including its flagship Rajapalot gold-cobalt project in Finland.
https://www.miningnews.net/capital-markets/news/1429870/mawson-seeks-funding-for-aussie-spin-out
from the article:
The Vancouver-based Mawson is looking to raise A$8-10 million at 20c to set Southern Cross Gold free, topping up a starting $2.2 million cash position.
The company isn't looking towards the Southern Cross goldfields in the west, but to the east, where its primary focus is on its 100%-owned Sunday Creek tenements in Victoria.
It also has the Redcastle and Whroo joint ventures where it is earning 70% from Nagambie Resources, in which it owns 10%, a first right of refusal over 3300sq.km tenement package held by Nagambie, all in Victoria, and tenure in Queensland's polymetallic Mt Isa region.
The company has spent around $6 million to date, but with its gaze increasingly focused on the Northern Lights of the Arctic circle, it has decided its tenure under the Southern Cross needs a dedicated focus.
-----
What to read into that move? Do one thing well might apply here.
Not sure what it implies for Rajaplot/Rompas. Focus is on them then it's on Aussie Gold then back to Finland.

Is anybody here?? Is there another more active Board for Mawson?

Long journey but Mawson is about to begin seriously quantifying the resource at hand and do a Preliminary Economic Assessment for the Rajaplot gold and Cobalt project.
https://www.mining.com/mawson-begins-initial-pea-on-gold-cobalt-project-in-finland
from the article in mining.com:
The study will be based on an inferred mineral resource estimated at 1.04 million oz. of gold-equivalent, contained within 10.9 million tonnes averaging 2.5 g/t gold and 443 ppm cobalt (3 g/t gold-equivalent).
