I like ALRY at .07 and SPZI at .003. Those are my only picks for the week. I'm going back to being a fan pulling for Auburn, Vandy, and Arkansas to hopefully open the door for the Gators to win the SEC east...oh, and for Ohio State and LSU to win out so that it's an undefeated Ohio State playing a 1 loss SEC team and watching said SEC team wax them again in the BCS national championship...
I have no response to that. Wait was that a response? Oh well, back to trying to find another RE deal...
If you are only as good as your last pick, then 25 folks need to remove membermarks from my iHub account...
I don't feel good about it, but I've been 500 at best in my picks this year. Better ask Jake. He's the closet Big East fan on the board.
Hey, I can talk about no defense. After all, I'm a Florida fan! ;)
I think calling Louisville's defense "decent" is even a stretch. I could see WV winning by more than 17 if they don't lose the ball as much as last year. Weather is going to be in the mid-40's which I think aids a running game. After the way WV handled Rutgers at Rutgers they just might demolish Louisville especially coming off a by-week.

Yes it would. But this is definitely a "patient play" IMO.
Yep. Still waiting for a Reg SHO squeeze or at least some in place financing to be announced by the company.
Super popular product right now. Haven't looked into the technicals or fundamentals though...
Nice SPZI bounce today. Solid volume too. MM's widening the spread to slow it down now...Perhaps yesterday will turn out to be a textbook "move before the move."
Financials do look better than I thought they would, but how much of the revenue is from BestAero? They only projected $99M in revenues for the entire year, so some divisions must be doing well (if you trust the numbers).
Just an opinion...
Funny that they never PR'd the loss of Progas or any problems with Progas. We all just found out through private conversations or the St. Tammany site. Now they let us know with a footnote.
Don't have time to wade through the SPZI board, have been real busy with biz today. Could you give me a brief over view of the "scam" allegations.
Thanks,
Mike
Fed cuts rate by .25 citing housing concerns.
Could be. We never saw the big run up like you did in S. Florida (except at the beach). Either way, you'll feel much better about your decision if you get the info first or, like I recently told another iHubber, just don't worry about it. I'm always making my wife mad b/c I can't approach a Real Estate purchase without thinking like an investor. Some times you just buy it b/c it will make a nice home and you can easily afford the payment. Then you don't sweat the up's and down's of the cyclical RE market. Sadly, I always have to have the data first, before I make the decision. There's other things you can use to track the market, but I find that those 4 categories can be specified down to the neighborhood level and tell me everything I need to know about supply, demand and price points. Knowing them makes it much easier to make an honest, analytical offer...
You just need to incorporate what you do in stocks to your real estate purchase. "Read the tape." Get the data. Don't buy based on emotion or "gut feel" alone.
All you need is 24 months worth of monthly MLS data (decent Realtor can provide):
1) Days on the market
2) Total number of listings
3) Sale Price as a % of List Price
4) Ave Sales Price
Take the data, plug it into Excel and graph it. You will "see" what the market is really doing then...
Market has turned in some spots in NE FL but not in others. Only the data can tell you about the present and a bit about the future. Nothing predicts the future perfectly, just like stocks...

It always takes longer than its supposed to. Of course it's easy for me to be patient as I've only been in the stock for what, 3-4 months?
Yep. I expect that when the news starts coming again, it will turn things around. For now, expect it to keep bleeding off...
Should have sold my freebies too and could have bought back with 2-3 times as much. I'll just hold them at this point though as I still feel like this has another good run in it towards the first of the year...looking for another buying point though...
The negative sentiment meter on SPZI hit about an 8 out of 10 this morning. About the worse I've seen it since I started following it in July. I still haven't bought more, but will if we get that down move. For a pinky, the story is somewhat credible, folks are just getting tired of the wait.

PS So much for a low scoring UF-UGA game. No offense to you Big East fans, but for a while due to the lack of defense I thought I was watching like a Louisville-West Virginia game or something...
I am a bleeding heart but I also grew up on a farm. Once, I worked all summer when I was a kid for my grandfather for a $100 bill. As soon as I got it, I ran off to K-mart and buy a new Zebco fishing rod and some tackle. Watched that rod like a hawk and never let even my brother buy it. When I got older, my father showed back up on the scene and decided to buy me a car "because he loved me." What did I do? I took it mudding and broke both axles within about 6 months. So I guess I have to say I agree with your statement.
Only exception I know from experience is that most homeless we work with have severe mental and emotional issues that limit their ability to function in "normal society," whatever that is.
Anyway, have a great weekend everyone. FL-GA weekend in Jax and the weather is horrendous and nor'easter is forming. As much as FL has no defense and can score in a hurry, this could be a messy game. Might consider taking the under on the points...
Agreed. That's why I am personally migrating more towards OTCBB stocks. Less leverage than sub-penny plays, but a little more transparency...hopefully PBLS will learn "soon."
Yes you can but at least you are honest about it. Forgive a young buck for coming off "stressed." Have a great weekend everyone and here's to $.015 pps short term...
Spam is why you pay an assistant to check your email. :)
It's hard to find that fine line between being supportive and enabling someone to persist in bad habits. Friends of mine that work with the homeless alot are always struggling with similar decisions. Knowing when to stop helping with folks you care for is probably some of the hardest decisions we make in life...
If CTUM breaks down into the .70's again I will be waiting...just put it back on watch. Fun stock to trade.
Hopefully not your wife...
Definitely strange how it works that way. I am a carbon copy of my biological father even though he wasn't around much at all in my formative years. Yet, my older brother who had more interaction with my biological father is a carbon copy of my mother.
Sometimes I think God is using DNA and environment like a chemistry experiment to produce the type of personality He wants.
That thing about the "Making a To Do List" and the "Travel Itinerary" thing cracked me up b/c that's my wife and it drives me crazy. But she's got a hot body (at least to me) so I guess I've learned to deal with it..."yes dear, no dear, whatever you say dear as long as you are ready to go to bed dear..." ;)
Sounds about right. I had some testing once done by an employer and the results said I was a "Learned Analytic." But being right brained would explain why whatever I do I end up in the "people business" I guess (Real Estate, ministry etc, message boards etc).
Right-brainer for me, which is surprising because I am constantly drawn to more analytical subjects (like Technical Analysis, theology, finance etc)...
Not stressed. Trading account looks good today. Phones at the office are ringing. Leaving early and taking the wife and baby girl to "Spooktacular" at the Jax Zoo this evening. Not stressed but sometimes your posts come off a bit, ummm, aggressive in tone maybe.
Decisions are supposed to be made on the bottom line, but if you never know the bottom line, its hard to make a decision there. Especially since not all liabilities are shown on their financials and since we don't have all the tax information needed to calculate N.I.
If they could prove via audited financials that they actually made $4.5M in EBITDA and maybe $3M after taxes, that would still be a HUGE improvement IMO in the eyes of the market over last year. I'd take $4.5M audited over $7M unaudited with a suspicious "Other Income" line item.
I guess the whole morality issue isn't a concern?
Sorry, forgot to check my conscience at the opening bell...though sometimes I honestly wish I could.
Agreed on the profit vs. revenue as my opinion. Always think you have to focus on the profits. I don't know how the market will react to dramatically decreased revenue numbers, especially if numbers for 2007 are still unaudited.
Their July figures put Best Aero EBITDA at $1,306,800 for the year. 30% of that would be an additional $393k for PBLS in 2007. I don't know if these numbers were produced before or after the troubles with the Best Aero card.
As Progas is not listed with the other divisions I do not choose to include it in revenue projections. I don't know why else they wouldn't list it if they thought it was going to produce profits/revenues for the company. Of course much has changed since July.
I only focused on top line because PBLS has always focused on top line (please see about half the PR's from 2006 & 2007).
Whatever else you think I implied by my post is your problem. I simply answered Pnew's question. Would you like to be specific and answer Pnew's quesion or is it easier to tear down what others say than for you to have the guts to openly give a specific answer?
If you back out all the aviation divisions and the pit from their financial projections they provided me in July for 2007, it would leave you with the following:
Revenues: $25.82M
COGS: $15.43M
Gross Income: $10.39
Expenses: $5.89M
EBITDA: $4.5M
(note I did round off some of the numbers during calculations)
However, this could be greatly diminished from increased legal fees and/or greatly increased by success of certain business units (Sam's Oil for example). Either way, 2007 numbers are going to show dramatic reductions from 2006 IMO. The revenue cows of Pro-Gas and Best Aero are now gone.

Random question for the board...
Anyone else ever feel like they are constantly waiting for stock x to run so they can take profits to move over to stock y?
Is this just a newbie problem, a gambling problem, a "I've lost too much money this year already" problem, a typical problem for all traders or do I need to just take my daily prescription again?
Ren
PS Also wanted to publically thank Cowboy and Wave for their insights on trading. We all appreciate Coy but they are often over looked and should not be IMO...
I'm comically impaired.
No literally, I was talking about ticker symbol POS (and trying to make a joke).
