I appreciate what people post.... and I know I have been guilty myself....
I do appreciate context even more...
I only casually follow the board and for most of the time between then and now.... didn't at all. So some of these posts, without context can be worrisome to certain people.
I believe, relating to newflow's post, if you got escrow, you have nothing to worry about.
Unless things get wacky tomorrow and Friday I will be closing out my latest coop swing this week, my first for the year and last year was 4 or 5 coop trades that, excluding all my other trading and investments, matched my salary.
Year starting off good.... hope this will be small change and we can see the matters all come to a close.... we will see...
Coop is a money printer if you know how to operate it.
I don't actually know if it is relevant...
It is recent and has wmi and dst in the name of the entity.
Listing commercial real-estate.
I was traveling and decided to post it before I lost connectivity.
It could be just coincidental.
I don't think it will...
I think I will get plenty of more chances to flip it between 40 and 50...
Maybe once the actual BK is fully closed and all is done... it might move further...
Imo
Love buying below 40...
Absolutely guaranteed profit.
Was this physical mail?
My address has changed and I want to make sure I am not left out... I also held Ps and Qs...only.
Might want to look up the definition of sarcasm.
There is no value here, you are all wasting your time... I'm better than you... I don't waste my time... I'm super successful...
Also, I'm going to obsessively continue to post here and tell you all about it and give vague answers to specific questions.
Lol
Doesn't care...
Posts often...
"The lady doth protest too much, methinks"
Can I believe we should be getting a return but also believe there are entities who would fight against that and try and claim that return for themselves through nefarious means?
It is incorrect that rich people's money gets hidden away.
It goes into investments which spur economic growth.
I'm not trying to defend the rich... it just isn't accurate what you said.
If no one saves there is no money to loan....
(I understand all the issues with the current monetary system... that is not under the control of the rich specifically and a more complex topic)
Yes, it is quite a bit like that... because of political and regulatory capture.
That doesn't mean it is the right way to go or that more socialism would be a good thing.
Keep in mind, in socialism the bigger entity runs the smaller... Corp/gov official.... Corp wins... gov dept / citizen.....citizen loses
I love how loudas is so invested.
Did you get the old parts or was there a core charge?
glad you are doing well.
It is irrelevant that the ESCs are worthless as they would eventually be anyway at some point... they are just markers and have served their purpose. Has no impact on equity returns... whatever they may amount to.
Sorry these facts make you sad and lash out.
Regarding the 1 cent payment.
I am stating a possibility and not claiming this is fact.
I think you should pursue all avenues you think you need to in order to protect yourself.
However, I would bet it is just a peculiarity with their system which doesn't allow securities to me moved without entering a price and entering 1 cent is what they do as a work around.
I have worked on some very large software projects and there is always a use case which is not accounted for when the data architecture is built and the effort to change it is not worth it if you have an easy work around...
Just my opinion.
Wishing you the best.
I understand all that you wrote.
Thanks for the reply.
This is precisely why I want it back in my roth.
1, no min distribution
2, no taxes on profits because it is funded with post taxed money. Even if I made a billion dollars in my roth, it would be all tax free. I won't have a billion but at the rate I am going I will have a few mil (sub 10) by the time I can draw. If I get a decent return from wamu I will have multiples of that. For someone who grew up in poverty, I want every advantage I can get. The biggest concern then would be trying to make sure my children aren't entitled... strongly considering telling them we are poor. Lol
Anyway, thanks for the detailed reply, it was much appreciated.
Cheers
Thanks for your response, I am hopeful "if" that is the case as I have multiple accounts where escs used to reside.
Cheers
This would be less than ideal for my roth... I still have lots of investing years left and we potentially could be talking about millions just in taxes I would not have to pay when I am able to start withdrawing.
Thoughts?
AZ,
I'm not going to give you a lot of shart over this... however you make the claim that everyone had the opportunity to add since 2017 is a bad argument. I trade regularly but most don't and many do not have the funds to add significantly to their position. For those individuals it would mean they would have to keep up with the progress of the case and state of everything and also know the risk/reward.
I am sure you are targeting your comments towards a select group but I think your audience is not a monolith.
I will probably trade until I die but some who bought Us Ps Ks etc probably just had a friend or forum tell them that it would be a windfall... these people if paid out will likely never trade again.
Please consider your audience when posting, because even me as a trader and not needing the money, I haven't followed wamu closely since 2012 and only recently tuned back in to see what is going on.
Again, not trying to give you a hard time, just perspective.
Cheers
I want a big check... the kind lottery winners get.
Thanks for the reply!
Ok, for regular stock accounts a check is all good... I also have a roth that given estimates could receive 1M plus... I don't want a check for that, I want my roth to hold those returns so they will be tax free... any thoughts on how that would work?
Do you have a tradingview account?
Fib tool is built in...
You need to understand TA to leverage properly.
I see a lot of people who are upset.
It is understandable.
However, I don't think people should be blaming others.
I bought my shares and followed the BK early on, I signed my releases and then stated it will be what it will be.
I knew it was not a sure thing.
I went on with my life.
I lost touch with all of the yahoo board people because I was living my life.
I popped on here every once in a while just to see if we were done yet and then I went on with my life.
Sure, there was a lot of potential... but there comes risk too...
Is it over, maybe, maybe not... we will see.
This is not the type of thing to plan your life around.... a don't count the chickens before they hatch.
Not trying to beat anyone up over how you feel...
Just recognize, you made the decision and the responsibility ... good or bad... is on you.
Move forward... enjoy life... and if we get paid... good.... if not... you didn't waste any more time.
Cheers and well wishes to all.
Lol... Fidelity, 500 shares prefered.... dude... are you looking at my account?
Is it a ROTH?
Yeah, I've been really successful selling before earning... I'm a swing trader...
But it looks like holding through this time paid off.
With the additional repurchases I think coop will continue to provide good trading opportunities.
Cheers
Picked up some more in my roth and one of my trading accounts.
I generally sell my trades before earnings hit... so this feels odd.
That wasn't possible back then.
Laws have changed and now a "bail in" is possible.
lol... so you aren't... I suppose the post I was replying to got that wrong.
Can't say that I am sad about not having lunch with you.
I was just having a bit of a blast from the past from a stint up in WA living on Mercer Island. Was an interesting time
Glad you cleared up the mix-up.
Oh.... shoot...
Myadad from the old board is Lodas over here...
Jeez... I'm pretty sure I had lunch with him in bellevue a decade ago.... He has to be ancient by now... (no disrespect lodas)
He was pleasant enough but him being annoying here is no surprise (again, no disrespect lodas, our personalities would never have clicked)
so wild.
LG,
can you please explain what 2.5 par means?
Sorry for asking a dumb question... I just haven't paid much attention post 2012/2013 or so...
Much appreciated!
WAMU investor return I have questions ...
Hoping I could get someone to orient me.... if you wouldn't mind.
I am a long term holder (bought when they were wamu, wamuq, wamup... if memory serves me)
I was on the old yahoo board... I remember withcats and dollhairs etc.
I know there was drama back in the days... I wasn't part of any of that... fyi.
I attended at least one of the hearings... maybe 2...
The last thing I remember doing is filling out the release to allow my shares to be converted.
I have had a tremendously chaotic life since then and have not been able to keep up with where things are.
Is there a concise recap of how we got here?
Is there also, a kind of calculation to show how much the wamu -> wmih -> coop conversions were?
What is the general idea about continuing to hold?
Sorry if I come across as "that guy" .. but I just have no clue what to think about these holdings.
Thanks in advance for any kind soul who responds.
-Cheers
