"I have only 10k shares at less than $2.00 average"
I see that you are one of the more successful investors posting here. LOL!!!
They may wait to see what happens regarding the delisting concerns.
I think the sum of positive and negative views are helpful. If we only either allowed positive or negative posts, it would be a diservice to all. Besides, if one wants to shield themselves from one point of view or another, it's pretty simple to ignore those whose point of view you don't want to consider in your investment strategy.
It goes up 2 cents after hours on a few shares and this is indicative of a leak?
LOL!!!
My point was that your report of a report ultimately turned out to be irrelevant and misleading.
"NO MAJOR DAMAGE FROM MEXICO EARTHQUAKE"
I guess this story is not very relevant then.

"It was reported as a "strong" earthquake"
LINK to the source please?
It's completely impossible to judge the relevance of your post without any information other than your personal experience of having been in several "strong earthquakes".
Link please?
If strength wasn't reported, how do you know it was strong? Or did you just throw this in for effect?
Food for thought, from the Yahoo! board:

---The latest connect the dots theory for GlobeTel is all about Raytheon. Of course the recent article that sparked all the excitement did not mention GlobeTel or Sanswire even once. Of course facts like that are not nearly as much fun, when you can speculate, hypothesize and just "make stuff up".
---The "FACT" is, if Raytheon were dependent on GlobeTel for "anything" (especially in the future) they would want GTE to prosper and remain strong. They would not want GTE to be delisted, and become crippled by not being able to raise the funding they will need to survive, UNLESS, Ratheon wants to just wait and pick up the leftovers at the firesale. If there were "anything" to a meaningful relationship between Raytheon and GTE, it would only take one press release from "Raytheon"(not GTE, theirs aren't believed) to give them credibility, save them from delisting and turn them around.
---So why haven't we heard anything from Raytheon, think how simple it would be for them to give GTE a pat on the back, wouldn't cost them a dime. Of course why didn't we hear anything from Internafta, except for negative things about GlobeTel, after the fact. Or what about that company GTE signed the deal with to "Put stratellites across South America". Its always from GTE and rarely is there "anything" from the other party, especially anything positive.
---Connect all the dots, except the "common sense" ones. Hope springs eternal, and its much more fun to just, make stuff up.
"...if it ever flies..."
Sansflier
Why would you just have been happy to have waited until now and gamble? If you were allowed to re-trade with hindsight, you could have shorted the hell out of this from + $4.00 all the way to $0.55 and have your millions safely sitting in the bank.
FORTUNE, I find it helpful to read both positive and negative perspectives. Your comments are helpful, and you shouldn't feel the need to repeatedly explain your motives.
"At this point I wonder if we will get the qtr early?"
Excellent, excellent post!!! Amazingly I have been pondering the opposite thesis: at this point I wonder if we will get the qtr late?
Okay, I'm butting in, but the subject of your most recent post on Yahoo! is this:
Corruption at AMEX? Manipulation?

"in order to go bk you must first have more debt than assets"
That is neither a neccessary nor sufficient condition for declaring bankruptcy.

AGREED!!!
Perhaps even, relocate to some other country where the press doesn't have the Freedom of Speech to publish negative opinions about GlobeTel...(Just kidding!).
Really? I would never had guessed!
(Just kidding!)
What is a 'naked long'?
Thanks.
I doubt all 36,000 longs read this message group. How many do though? A few dozen?
Interesting...so how would I find out whether naked shorting of GTE is occurring? Or is it impossible to establish this?
I agree naked shorting is a huge problem in general, but didn't realize it is a problem for GTE. I've not seen GTE on any naked short lists for awhile: http://www.buyins.net/tools/short_list.php?ssd=20060714
Any links or info you can point me to suggesting this is a factor in GTE?
Thanks!
Thanks for the good info Danielle!
If find the survey results fascinating. Clear majority sentiment on whether this would be bad for the company and shareholders, but polarized almost 50-50 on whether delisting is already priced in and whether GTE will prevail in their appeal.
It would be really interesting to have further information about the conditional probabilities. i.e. Of those that voted YES/NO in whether GTE will prevail in their appeal, what % also voted whether YES/NO as to whether delisting is already priced into the stock.
Wouldn't you think that if one were looking to get out, it might be worth holding out for a better opportunity? A bit of positive news (bound to happen sooner or later) might yield a decent spike.
Danielle, you always raise excellent and provoking questions. Keep up the solid vigilance!
