It appears Twitter has been infringing on more than VPLM patents.
Canadian technology company BlackBerry is suing Twitter for infringing on six of its patents. The Canadian company alleges that Twitter is using patents related to push notifications, silencing messaging notifications in a thread and mobile advertising techniques, according to TechCrunch. This isn’t the first significant modern tech platform that BlackBerry has gone after over patent infringement. Last year the company sued Facebook for similar patent violations. In response, Facebook sued BlackBerry for infringing on its platforms, and both of those suits are currently active.
Looking forward to the Friday where it closes at $6.90
First of all it's not Malak getting the offer. Any company that makes the offer to buy out. Would want to buy out all shares of the company. So you would get paperwork thru your brokerage to surrender your shares for $xxx. Money would not go to company on a buyout. It would be from purchaser to shareholders
Sorry for your loss.
If that were the case why does Apple respond and spend money defending themselves to the PTAB?
I guess to state the obvious. This next few days may clear the barriers and we will see another run up to previous highs. Anyone have any thoughts on whether we will see .45 this month
Well said and also gives me a new perspective on this
Wow lucky you don’t own Amazon they were down $600. Oh by the way I am not worried about Amazon or VPLM #TheFutureIsBright
We aren’t greedy we will settle for $12 per share. Thanks for the upbeat thoughts though
Where does Amazon figure into this conversation?
Or maybe after the long weekend?
I don't know what the biggest settlement was but last year Nokia received $2 billion as a lump sum catch up payment and then ongoing quarterly royalties. So you may want to rethink the grand prize winner.
exactly what I was thinking.
This is starting to get exciting. I wonder if the FDA approval will mean a buyout of VSTM? If yes, I wonder what this is worth?
Clearly not an accountant. Patents are an asset and have value. So you’re it’s a shell theory doesn’t apply
My understanding with these private placements is that the investors received share certificates. Problem is in Canada not many firms accept share certificates for pink sheet companies. So even if they wanted to they can’t sell. IMO the people that bought at .02 or .06 aren’t likely flipping for 10 cents. They are in for the (hopefully soon) news and hopefully settlements
Been a shareholder for over a year. Was away and now happy to see trading in the $5+ range. What happened? Is this still a takeover target ?
I think that despite others on this board you may see twitter be the first to come to some type of settlement and licensing agreement which would then allow them to go about their business of selling off the company (which has been discussed)
Ya cause twitter has bottomless pockets or would love to explain to possible suitors about the potential liability.
Just watching the Olympic Games and a Twitter commercial came on. I thought to myself if all goes well, it would end with Twitter a VoIP-Pal company.
Saw this when it first came out and a friend was involved (meaning he bought shares) thought picking up 2-3million shares at that time and man am I happy I didn’t what is up with this DOG? .0009 ?
I have a friend that just did it today. So not sure what you are asking but it just happened for him
Not true I contacted TD Direct Investing and they take OTC stocks certificates and I then asked specifically VPLM. The rep asked specifically about VPLM and said yes you can deposit this into any non-registered accounts.
Conspiracy theorists would tell you that GOOGLE may have some code in their search engine blocking this. I don’t think that is the case here. I just don’t think there is enough out there on this and maybe the way you are searching for it. But as you know from this board the lawsuits are real and will hopefully be LIVE this month. Buckle your seat belts
I would imagine that they are banking on the fact that the lawsuit is on hold until the stay is lifted. But there is no doubt that as soon as the stays are lifted and the lawsuit is proceeding they will have to recognize the contingent liability on their financials and BOOM then it is there for the world to see. HOWEVER, I do believe when potential suitors come in they can see the pending lawsuit just like we can and I would imagine that as part of full disclosure TWTR would have to disclose to potential purchasers.
Gents haven't been checking for a couple of days. But came back today and see that the reverse split hasn't taken place. What happened? I thought Monday would be the day that the 5 for 1. Does anyone have a revised date of when this is going to happen?
I agree as much as some talk about pump and dump. How does one know that this “analyst” isn’t bought and paid for by the defendants ?
Thanks for the DD. I too am a believer at one point I thought $2/share would have been great. Now I truly believe and this of course is just IMHO that this has that home run possibility and that $2 billion will not be close to the final settlement. Nobody on this board would have any clue when negotiations or offers happen as they are usually wrapped up in confidentiality agreements. TWTR can try and hide behind others but IMO when the light is turned on there will be no where to scatter and hide. The news is hopefully out soon on the motion and they stays then I believe the action begins.
What is everyone’s end game here? If you bought this stock you believed that it would one day either be bought it or grow the business model with infringement settlements and ongoing licensing agreements. Has that changed because of this 5 for 1? I for one am not selling any shares and then hoping there is a drop to chase and try and buy back my position. But I will gladly step in and add to my position if some weaker hands panic. GLTA
BOOM! The time for the light to shine will soon be upon everyone. How will stock price react for these companies with potential liability of 3 billion $? Money is already scared with the markets in downfall and then this.
Sorry for my ignorance here. New to this stock and bought at 4-5 cents. How long is the March 9 court date and what is expected if WDDD wins ?
Not so sure I think V—M is IMO one step away. For example in their situation one of the infringers definitely doesn’t want any part of revealing secrets at discovery. Is that the same for WDDD? To be honest I like both and believe that both will have their day in the sun. If WDDD wants to be first I’m good with that lol
Not being negative here. Just don’t understand what a high stock price for ATVI has to do with Worlds. It’s all about revenues and cash (Which ATVI is making and has ) the price of the stock doesn’t improve their bottom line. Anyways that being said hoping to see this thing through to a settlement. New to this board and am happy to have found WDDD
I agree - IMO this will not proceed to court or discovery.
I agree that as soon as this gets green lighted for discovery is when Apple gets serious
Thanks for the update! Wow so now Apple is so worried that they have been wronged that they are trying their case on a website? Well amigos if stays are lifted you can explain to your shareholders what the contingent liability is on your financial statements. But thanks for letting us know that you are the VICTIM here
Of course, when cash is involved. The settlement and the ongoing licensing would impact both the statement of income and the cash on the balance sheet. But you wouldn't be able to differentiate. Just for the market transparency and s/h decision you would think that the numbers would have been released. Let's hope that the stay will be lifted soon and the VPLM process can move one step closer.
Interesting not sure how a settlement agreement on a publicly traded stock could be confidential. Doesn't there need to be transparency for shareholders? Good for IMMR. Thanks for the info penny2pound
Did I not read somewhere that Apple settled a lawsuit rather than turn over info in discovery? Is there an angle here? Rather than turn over or make available sensitive info they would try and settle? This stay being lifted IMO may just be the fuel that this rocket ship needs.
I hope you are correct. Wonder if there is magic number in mind to get this done?
