Hey powerwalker, I was looking into DZP and it is a cholinesterase inhibitor so it would effect the parasympathetic receptors in the intestine....if find that interesting because it can cause increased secretion and hypermotility...so maybe the DZP decreases the timeframe for intestinal uptake of A273 or the secretions increased production/release somehow creates a short term barrier to uptake and some individuals..just a thought to build on your previous thought.
Your right, Dr. M has said multiple times they are trying to make the drug fail in the P2 at the same time getting valuable info during this phase so that if successful the P3 is ran more as a formality than anything...the new approach is definately going to allow science to grow exponentially with a much more efficient approach...speed, accuracy and at a fraction of the cost of old approaches to trials...Big company's are going to have to adapt or be taken over by some of these small companies ran by sharp CEO's/BOD's....I am confident we are riding the right horse in this race.
Hey powerwalker, good question, I'll look into it but in theory it is possible. If DZP somehow influences uptake mechanisms in the intestine?
I would agree, there is most likely a difference in up take influencing the difference in bloodstream concentration...Any disease which influences uptake of nutrients (I.e. IBD, celiacs, etc.) and/or lack of the appropriate enzymes or appropriate uptake mechanisms to allow for consistency in bloodstream concentrations would in theory potentially influence medication uptake...I'm a veterinarian and a good example of this is seen in dogs with enteric coated aspirin vs non coated aspirin, some dogs don't have the ability to break down the coating effectively, thus, the aspirin doesn't work as well.. but if crushed then works totally fine...they are probably looking at what is the reason, then developing the appropriate chemicals/adjuvants to include within the medication to allow for uptake to be uniform if necessary. The small intestine most likely the key.
Hagrid, I believe she writes for clinical Neurology news and you can find some of her articles on merge.com...I think...I heard the same thing but we will see...hope it is a positive one attracting new interest and spreading the word.
Regenerate can also mean to restore to a better, higher or more worthy state according to the dictionary and that is exactly what many people here think A273 is doing by restoring cells to a state of homeostasis from a previously unbalanced state...I.e. Restoring to a better or more worthy state.....I think this is a matter of Symantec's and the FDA can make it fit this narrative if they want too...Especially if you get lawyers involved in interpreting the English language....haha...
With all do respect, the guy who should have the most insight in to our company within the field should be Dr. George Perry; and he believes Anavex is on to something important....so I will stick with the reviewing experts in the field who understand the pulse of the field and its potential pitfalls. If the man in charge of the journals is singing your praises then he knows more than we do, as he wouldn't take a firm stance or position on the matter otherwise...let's go Anavex
I think it's always wise to be cautious and aware of a company and its potential risk/reward...It is still educated gambling no matter how you slice it, but we all look at the cards and decide is it worth staying in the game.... I think we should keep in mind a few important things with this company. The company is claiming it creates homeostasis, which in my mind really is saying they can fix the imbalance of these messed up cells..i.e. Symantec's . Easy to be a Monday QB, but I believe we have a top level QB .Dr.M has always delivered what he has told his Shareholders even though it may not be 100% on time at times...he has taken a financially ruined company and made it healthy on paper, brought us a drug which has surpassed what we anticipated for the phase 2a trial, and he has found partners and continues to build important relationships to make our company thrive....remember he has 11/2 months still and he is probably itching to deliver...Men of character act with character and the only thing that holds this goal back is the FDA imho...
Ok falconer, I emailed Bill to make him aware of us and I included your link as well amigo...keep your fingers crossed...Anavex let's go!
What interview are you referring to amigo? The FDA or Missling or other?
Hey benny boy, you are right amigo. Missling has said we wouldn't move forward with releasing the trial starts until after the FDA has officially layed the ground work....be patient it will happen as Missling has been true to his word so far...sometimes you can be ready for something but others are slowing down your progress, such is the case here....accompany saying repeatedly they would start by end of year is either true to its word, being delayed by others or not planning on staying around long term...the evidence points towards truth as Missling has not lied so far, repeatedly says it will happen, he is buying more stock, and the FDA hasn't released its new approach yet....in the CEO's eyes he wouldn't do or say these things unless he was planning to make money from his efforts....
Any word on grand reveal of new direction and guidelines yet from FDA? I was thinking it was going to be yesterday...thanks
This drop in price was predictable, I don't know what the shorts are talking about...just about everyone here that is long knew it would pull back today....tomorrow the FDA speaks and then from that point on we will have a road show and then we will see a pps that goes up as the trial starts are announced and all the big companies are done trying to shake out the retail investors who aren't patient and 100% in on what they are seeing...as far as I'm concerned I would be sweating being short right now....I mean it might continue to stay down for a bit, but there are so many cards out in the deck right now to make a hand on the turn it is crazy....why take that kind of risk...I could understand it previously but after the news we are watching they are going to be hanging out with Mortimer from trading spaces...let's go longs!
This study experience is hard for many who are still interpreting with old way of reviewing trials, need to switch your line of thinking and put to the side the old way of looking at trials..we are going from the typewriter to the computer era...trials from this point on will increasingly use small patient groups, and more computer modeling because of modern medicine advancements...we are going into a whole new approach precision medicine approach to interpretation, thanks to huge advances in our understanding of the human body and AI...even though the trial size is small, Ariana has been able to find very positive data in an otherwise unbeatable disease...using historical placebo arms, which the FDA has already openly stated will be used in some types of diseases, the FDA is allowing medicine and our ability to predict with various modalities to advance, which wasn't the case with the previous administrations...what we are apart of is the equivalent Of the jump from typewriter to computers in this field...exciting stuff...therefore the info we are seeing is legit...Missling tried to fail and couldn't because this drug is real...the next trial if we aren't fast tracked will be off the charts....Let's go!
What we must remember is this study is in the P2 phase and many of you are viewing it as a P3....as far as I'm concerned for a P2 the results which came out by a independent company mind you, is nothing but amazing given the fact no other drug has came close to the long term results AVXL is posting...in the P3 they now know how to select and what dosages to give the individuals who will be in the P3 study.... so the entire study will be full of super responders and then the headlines are going to read AVXL has stopped AD...anyone who thinks otherwise is either short or delerious...November 4th we should all look at a major stride forward in controlling one of the worst diseases ever....we should all be rejoicing, I guess I'll have a party of one then...haha AVXL= woot woot.
This is an extremely locked in group of investors within this investor board who have investigated every angle...including but not limited to how this company came to be, the financial health, the character and capabilities of the CEO/BOD, the science of its pipeline and how what the company is saying matches the independent scienctific communities theories. They have also investigated who is interested in being tied to the company, all of which are reputable companies, non-profits and people...(Biogen, Wayne state, Dr,George Perry, Micheal J.Fox, Rhett's foundation, Australian Govt...etc...) This message board is very well informed and understands the investment in front of us...so as much as concerns and different views/opinions are appreciated the Misdirection or fake news is a waste of your time and ours...you would probably have better luck shaking out shares on a different message board...AVXL....get on the train, leaving the station at 3:15 Saturday....woot, woot...all aboard!
I know it probably has been stated already but I missed it..what time is our 15 mins of fame starting in regards to our CTAD presentation ? Thanks in advance.
Mycroft, your right, and one other thing to add...the phase 2 study was designed so we would have the best chance at amazing data in phase 3...this study proved what it
Set out to prove and at the same time gave us a lot more to be excited about...people are interpreting this data as if it's our final phase 3 data and I feel that is way off the mark...This company has done what it set out to do...and our CEO is trying to maximize our datas potential for success with a precision medicine approach...people are interpreting this phase with an old way of thinking...comparing apples to oranges...these are exciting times here...Our CEO has said repeatedly he wants the drug to fail in phase 2 not the more expensive phase 3; the phase 3 is merely to confirm what we find out through precision medicine approach in phase 3...so if we move forward then it's because we have something period.
frrol, not quite understanding your wording, could you explain better for us? It sounds like your saying CNS diseases don't arise from one problem I.e. You think it's a combination of things, or your saying a cause literally doesnt exist and happens from magic...As far as I'm aware, we don't know as a scientific community if it is a single problem leading to a domino effect or multiple problems leading to a disease presentation...my guess it's both depending on the disease...
My understanding is the 21st century approach is going to accelerate drugs with good safety to market faster...so we need to start ditching the preconceived ideas we have of normal time frames based on the past and consider the possibilities these changes could happen much faster if the FDA sees it as a SOC upgrade...Xena may or may not be right about the actual time line but I think his train of thought is evolving in a way to match the potential changes in the new FDA approach to percision medicine...whether true or not we should all humor the possibility until precedence is set...IMHO
Bat, I 100% agree with you...it is right to be skeptical and to do your own DD but I feel it is obvious this company is headed the right direction....I don't understand why people are invested if they don't believe in their investment....move on if not....on a brighter note though; we are seeing real progress done in a way as to not attract to much attention until the timing is right...we are talking about a science provided by a small company which could change the landscape of medicine and neuroscience which means we have to navigate through pirate waters to get to our destination....anyone who follows this stock closely knows this and understands why the silence is golden currently....
Didn't Wayne state show mechanism of action in their independent study? I'm pretty sure they did but I could be wrong...
Hey, hey what do you say...hope all of you are doing well...brilliant speech Jimmy...I think for those of us who have really dug into the science and spent the time to understand the CEO and his team of scholars it is obvious the science theory(which has only been strengthen by outside testing) , the early testing done (mice/humans...knowing that the nueropathways are the same) , the feed back from patients via video/actions (wanting to continue med) and the continued actions of the company (adding key players, working along side FDA and silence....yes silence....a guy with a bag full of gold doesn't sit in a bar of crooks and yell I have a bag of gold) all point toward a high probability of success...It is of my belief 99% of the time if it acts like a duck and quacks like a duck it is most likely a duck.....stay patient my friends it will happen at the pace of the new FDA and political agenda unfortunately.
Hey Pineapple, I'm thinking we will probably be finalized Shortly before the FDA talk whipsaw was talking about happens...then the government will have their dog and pony show followed by a few examples for other companies to follow in regards to a template...I could be wrong but I think we will be one of those template companies and that is why AVXL is so quiet...It has been my experience in life that those who speak the loudest are the most full of s$$t....and the guy sitting in the corner observing holds all the cards...generally speaking in regards to most public displays, loud is weak and quiet is strong...
Once the FDA makes there statement of the new rules and are situated after the major turn over and revamping taking place....which we know was to be announced in sept... then you will see AVXL start releasing info. And running up is my personal feeling...think about it, would you start showing your cards and start betting before you knew the game you are playing? Logic is logical....
Your thought is plausible, however, could you expand upon your thought? Reason I ask is your thought process is open ended...placating for what intention or purpose? Good or bad placate? To placate for bad reasons would be to assume he is being dishonest which goes against anything/everything known about the man...to placate for good reasons would then further the strength of the previous statement proposed to you...Most men don't stray to far from there character, thus, if the scientific community looks at Dr. M with respect and being honorable then one must think the most likely reason for stock purchases would be the same as it was a few years ago... he has already set a precedence with this purchase behavior prior years...I don't think Dr. M would risk his overall character over a small purchase plan...doesn't seem logical...could be wrong people can change, but so far nothing negative except silence has ever been reported about the man...
Hey Bat, I get what your saying and in the average stock situation I would definately agree with you....all of us here have been helping each other out putting the trail of small crumbs together....If we look at what has been achieved in a small period of time, Missling has taken a company on the brink of financial collapse and has delievered a company not in financial ruin and creating a situation were we are all on the edge of our seat...this is no easy task...I know it is all speculation so take it as you will, but I've researched this guy from the stand point of character and integrity and have found not one negative accept this silence thing so far...this leads me to believe that unless he is picking this particular time to turn in to Dr. Evil, then his intentions are pure and will only be understood by us all when the timing is right....if this really is as big as many of us believe it to be amigo (based on the science/theory and lack of tests disproving the science), then silence is the best approach until a deal is cemented for a lot of reasons....Not only would governments be involved with gag orders and political motivation to release the news when it would maximize the positives for the FDA/President/etc...but we could be dismantled before we ever got started by bigger companies/bigger players in a way that could effect the shareholders negatively and even the people who stand to gain the most from it....the patients...(I.e. There are people out there that would sit on a cure if it was financially best for them)....this would be worse than short term pps manipulations...So I would urge you to give it 6 months more before you cut bait and i will probably ride this until I lose or come out singing the hills are alive with the sound of grizwald....anyways, I understand your external frustration, but try your best to read between the lines for a while longer....hope all is well guys, have a great day.
In all fairness it's hard to interpret the silence until we know why it's happening? You very well might be right or wrong....this will come to light eventually...and we will either all jump on your Train or we will all be talking how much of a genius move it was in the end....my money is on the genuis because Dr. M's character seems to be very well respected amongst his peers....therefore, the answer is more likely on the up and up vs sneaky....character of a man allows you to predict the decisions he would make more times than not given a set of possible outcomes...
It is my understanding that Donazepril went generic and by getting the plus patent Donazepril now becomes protected again as well as 2-73...is this correct? If so then at the very least we have now taken over the standard of care either way.....do any patent folks have some input here?
Great video Mikesc, thanks for sharing it....I do believe as I view this objectively AVXL is on to something life changing in the field on neuroscience....although we should alsways be skeptical of a drug that could form the basis to treat/cure multiple diseases, It is my belief this is a real exception to the rule! I'm excited to check the news/boards everyday I wake up to see what is happening...good stuff.
I would agree, it is logical to think they have a plan in place to partner for M/S; most likely with Biogen. They (Biogen) have had our drug, and were just rerunning the same tests Wayne state ran (and maybe others) to confirm what Wayne state had already proven in regards to A2-73 and it's ability to aid in stimulating nerve repair and remyelination....because they have had it so long and they aren't dropping it and we are still limping along allowing them to still work with it...Logic would tell me Biogen is just waiting for the new FDA changes and patent ownership confirmation...Remember Wayne state already proved our drug works, Biogen was just doing its own DD...
There is definately a difference between affinity and efficacy, don't get the two confused....I would agree with Jimmy...
Affinity: The ability of a drug to combine with a receptor to create a drug-receptor complex.
Efficacy: The ability of a drug-receptor complex to initiate a response.
I appreciate the devils advocate position, however, I would have to agree with the majority, the science is legitimate/been confirmed and never negated in many animal studies ( especially with the Neuropathy ways of rats/mice being the same as ours, the positive changes occurring in the FDA, and the reputable nature of the leaders, the recent hiring's in the past year, the actions, filings, and confident progression in Dr.Misslings body language, along with a presentation at a partnering conference coming up aren't pointing towards failure; failure would be the least likely scenario even though it technically is a scenario...I realize Yellowstone could blow tomorrow, but it's unlikely is what I'm getting at amigo. Hope all is good.
Dr.Missling is an extremely intelligent man, he isn't going to risk insider trading over 2,600 dollars...he knows what he is doing...he is signaling us longs just like he did a few years back...he did this same exact move prior to the stock price launching to 14...make no mistake...it is a signal flare to all Longs the offensive is about to begin!
I believe he can as long as this is a scheduled buy planned in past...which in my opinion shows how cunning and forward projecting Missling is amigo...He is playing this like Bobby Fisher...legally he can do this as long as it's structured properly within the guidelines
Exciting stuff guys...but I'm thinking we hear major announcement in sept. At the partnership conference....which really isn't that far away...what do you guys think?
Good call NWDR, your spot on...
I have a question for the board...what reasons other than multiple people thinking they are feeling better (real relief) or a wide spread placebo effect would cause all the participants and their caretakers in the original trial try to get Anavex to continue the trial...not once...but twice...the only logical answer I can come up with is it is helping them period....the likelihood of all these participants and caregivers being caught up in a placebo effect (which I personally think is tough to even have in a disease like AD) is very minute in my opinion. Your opinion is welcomed, thanks
Probably we will get a lot of answers in early sept. at the partnering meeting...info. Taken from jimmyCNS Partnering and Deal Making Sept 11, 2017

Breadcrumbs? Is it possible the Ink is drying Biogen/Anavex MS deal?
I know it sounds weird but I'm actually more confident than ever because Dr. M doesn't care about short term share price...because a lot of his compensation is tied to stock price, the fact he isn't acting overly concerned about the share price (which is a reflection of his part of his assets) means to me he is in it for the long term, and he must be confident in the product he is representing...otherwise he would be pumping and dumping.AVXL...let's go!
Polar bear, that's about it in a nutshell, how did I get in to this bushel? Haha ....movie quote...anyways, life is seldom black and white, typically the right answer is somewhere in the grey zone...I 100% agree with your logic as it would be nice to have cookie cutter numbers and inside info to make decisions but reality is life is often times an interpretation of who is deceiving you the least and why...follow the money and 99% of answer become obvious...hope all is well
