There are only a few companies that make installed audio and soon to include streaming video via satellite radio broadcasts. Delphi is the largest and has the finacial muscle to easily take our technology to the sky (literally). If I remember right, Delphi is the old GM spin-off Delco. Two years ago at the CES a new Lexes (Toyota)sports car had a great looking video in the middle of the dashboard. There were 4 video screens in the mockup SUV in the DataPlay booth. We aren't talking GPS screens like OnStar here (Robert Emailed me yesterday and confirmed), we are talking ''streaming video.'' This means with a subscription or a pay per view format, we can stop at a rest stop to watch the final moments of an important sporting event; (2) we can use Mapquest and/or the internet to get directions or information; (3) audio books can be illustrated or movies can play for the passenger; TV with the Weather Channel and someone reading the Washington Post will be possible; and many other applications.
This may take a couple of years, but if this flies, I'm going to make many millions in my EDIG stock. Richard had got an XM Radio for his birthday in 2001, just before I met him. When we got married in 2002, he bought some XMSR for under $3 per share. Earlier this year XMSR was trading at $30. This is the kind of stock appreciation we can expect if Falk is able to pull this off. My ideas may sound like hype or pie-in-the-sky-bye-in-bye; but most of us are in this stock for the big bucks disruptive technology can generate. ORY
P.S. I'm not suggesting our talks are with Delphi, but I'm using it as an example of a company that could pull off this big ''infotainment'' miracle.
You might want to check his E-address as the guys on Agora said he has a different address.

Question: Was the reference Fred Falk made about the newest automobile platform in regards to 'satellite' applications about GPS systems and/or about satellite radio (with soon to have streaming video) broadcasts?

Movies play big on the PC screen

WASHINGTON (CBS.MW) - Frame by frame, file by file Hollywood's latest nightmare production could be rolling.
Ipsos-Insight, a worldwide marketing research firm, reported Tuesday one out of five Internet users who swap files have downloaded a full-length motion picture. Almost 10 percent did so within 30 days of the research product conducted by Matt Kleinschmitt, senior analyst.
Rather than sounding an alarm about piracy and file sharing, however, he suggested Hollywood can profit from the experience of the music industry which saw threats from piracy and is now earning revenues from online music sales.
"The motion picture industry is (being presented) with a unique foresight into next-generation consumer entertainment," he said. The analyst suggested there will be substantial demand for multi-media portable devices, like MP3-players with video, and deep catalogs of movies for download.
No answers to spyware at FTC hearing
There was wide agreement at a federal government hearing in Washington yesterday that spyware and adware has become the largest consumer computer-related problem. But no one had a solution A representative from Microsoft (MSFT) told the Federal Trade Commission workshop that the next version of Windows might help. Other witnesses suggested add-on software tools and voluntary codes of conduct.
The crux of the problem appears to be that most PC users have given their OK to download these programs which track surfing activity or scour for personal information. But PC Pitstop, an anti-spyware company, said it found 97 percent of users of one such product were "largely unaware of what the application is doing on their system." See full story.
Real Player 10 bundled with Google
RealNetworks (RNWK) announced its latest multimedia player is being distributed with Google's Toolbar. Consumers have the option of installing the Google add-on to search from any Web page and block pop-up ads. "Our relationship with Google demonstrates our commitment to partnering with best-of-breed products and services," said Carla Stratfold, senior vice president of Real, in a statement.
The company also said it's got a promotional deal going with Heineken USA (HINKF). Marked 12-packs of beer will include a code which can be used for two free music downloads from the RealPlayer Music Store.
Note: "commercial" so it may not be a "comsumer electronics" application.

Traders bumping the price down again with small trades!
Morning, Diggers. OT: It's a cool morning on the So. Carolina Intracoastal Waterway in Little River; it's about 55 degrees. We went to see Yanni last night over in Charlotte. I loved the didgeridoo and a flute that dates back 3,000 years; Yanni makes strange music.
and United Airlines, too?
and, oh yes, what happened to our price today? I bought another 5,000 @ .29, and immediately the bid dropped to .27. I can't win!
OT: Richard and I are driving to Charlotte, NC, this afternoon to attend a Yanni concert this evening. It's about a 3 hour drive. So you guys, keep the pot stirred, and I'll "see" you tomorrow!
Maybe they didn't have an order in hand, but a lot of "demos" seem to be out in the marketplace. I read somewhere recently that HA was trying out 1 player. Wrong!
It's just possible good news will be released with the financial report for the quarter just ended????
I like answer #F, best! LOL
or maybe, it was the day before. At any rate, maybe Boyer's friends are buying---is there some way to know if we are getting "fresh" money?
Maybe the almost 1/2 millions shares traded yesterday were in advance of the APS announcement.
And shorter routes---it's a long time to Hawaii!
Whatttttt?
What conspiracy?
Where did I get the idea they were trying out 1 player?
All most any announcement--for a while, announcements were being made at about 11 o'clock am EST. The one I don't want to hear is lower earnings!
Our 11:00 window for announcements has just past. Not today, huh?
Tin, what do you make of the Video on Demand player?
Important New Question for those who know more about this than I: let's assume that MH is correct about our brothers holding the convertible shares they were selling, taking our PPS down on volume, how many more shares can we expect to be sold? Have the convertible holders finished? Is there some way we could anticipate the amount of shares left to be sold? ORY
MH, there certainly no volume today---40k at noon.
The part about this kind of financing that I don't like, is that this is legal and will be legal; it isn't "naked shorting" because eDigital gave them the right to short the convertible shares. The shareholders are at big risk if they are trading for a short period of time---if the longs on this board don't mind the swings or the company officers that hold shares, don't mind looking at the bigger picture---one could say this is just part of borrowing money for a small, unprofitable company like EDIG. It's hard for me to swallow these big swings. ORY
I'm still not clear on the role of convertible shares? The guys who put up additional funds, ask for convertible shares so they can short the stock legally using their conv. shares(therefore they aren't naked). The stock goes down and they buy back in, profit #1; convert shares at a low price, then sell higher, profit #2; and, they take the interest on the shares unit they are converted, profit #3. Is this close to how this works? If so, where do I sign up for some convertible shares next time EDIG needs financing????LOL
So, in the absence of news these MMs get a little something started, then it feeds on itself, finally, buyers show up?
MH, after reading your post that started "babycakes" I take it, one might guess that the MMs are "walking the stock" (EDIG) back down today? Interesting post! If I read it right, some traders made big bucks on the move down and the move back up, which looks like is moving down again today????
Ory
Yes, and she didn't put out anything after all! LOL
Cliff, I remember meeting you and your wife in the office at Poway when we went to talk to RP. You've really changed your attitude toward EDIG. What happened? Why do you stick around? Lois
I cannot believe I wrote that. My English is properly corrected! "Puts out PRs" sounds terrible!
It's almost announcement time. Didn't someone say that JOJO puts out PRs at 11 am EST?
Cliff, I love to shoot craps! Lois
I first bought at the stock in the Fall of 2000 and went to see EDIG in Poway the next year. I started going to the SHM meetings, CES and Comdex in 2001 and visiting Poway again. All the while, I was buying and selling EDIG--taking the tax loss and averaging down. I still like the company and this past year, I've added about 100,000 shares. I'm going to continue to add to my position--kind of like "dollar cost averaging" because I know that this stock can scream up. When it does, look out: there won't be much available because the weak hands will have been washed out. I mean by this, that the longs who want to see the stock through to $5.00 again won't be selling, the market makers will sqeeze the price up and fast. Mark my words, good news will bring a flurry to buy and there won't be much on the market to buy. ORY
eDigital is a small BBoard stock that has been around long enough that traders are using it for short term gains. The percentage pts. are big: up 50% down 20% all in a short time frame--a perfect trading vehicle for traders. The gamble these guys take is HUGE, because at any time an announcement about airlines or Cornice or one of our platforms that has ''convergent technology'' could get them caught short with their pants down. The weak sisters get out, some us whine, but a lot of us have been here since $5.00! Is a 20 cent drop going to change our investment pattern; probably not, when we've seen this before? I'm simply buying more and waiting out the storm. Lois
Just saw a 30,000 order at the ask--it may turn around with buyers coming in. ORY
Cold and wet, that pretty much sums up the weather here in Myrtle Beach. Yesterday we drove up to Wilmington to look at a floating dock--off white plastic. It is really ugly compared to pressure treated wood or cedar, but it is much, much cheaper and easier to install. The finished product is delivered by truck and put together on site like a jigsaw puzzle. Getting a dock permit may take 3-6 months--looks like I'm getting the cart in fron of the horse. Back to EDIG----waiting for airline announcements. The big inflight entertainment conference in London will be coming the first week in March, just 2 weeks away. Maybe at that time we'll hear something about the 3 airlines.
The newer planes don't have the big food storage area the old one had. I'll bet if the airlines wanted them, they'd find a place for them and work this out.
The REALLY big deal is the security key--that's what we've got!
Maybe 3rd generation--just saying that before long passengers are going to want movies and TV! And Email, too.
