Thats a fair point. I would definately be psyched to see us in the 400 mill. category. My thinking is that it is just really hard for a small company to make inroads into markets that are using a major company's product. Maybe we are on our way. It does look like MVSN is a little concerned however.
MVSN-that PR basically said nothing. It left out the all important fact that labels in the U.S. don't use it. Interesting timing or the PR too I must say. Looks good for SCMI, IMHO
Viastar and Sunncomm Management ties. I thought this was interesting, not sure how/if it is helpful.

AIKEN CD NOT PROTECTED: SEE BELOW
Tech supports response and my original question below.
Thank you for contacting us with your question.
We would like to assure you that SunnComm did not copy manage the Clay Aiken commercial release. There appears to have been a labeling error by the label.
If we can be of further assistance, please let us know.
Thank you,

Sorry for the repeat question, but The Clay Aiken Xmas CD states on the label that it has mediamax on the CD. Your rep. informed me that the commercial release DOES NOT have MM on it. I am confused. Is MM on it or not?
TNEW, I'd appreciate it if you can verify this after you look at it on your computer. I bring this up because, as many will remember, there was a Sarah Macglauchlan CD a while back that had MM on the packaging, but no MM on the CD. This was after the shift key fiasco, and it appeared the label pulled back, but at the last minute before the CD was pressed.
TNEW.. are you sure? I inquired about the CD and sunncomm tech responded that MM is NOT on the commercial release. I just recieved this response a few days ago after I saw that it was taken of the list.
Clay Aiken Xmas CD has been taken off the SCMI website. Bah Humbug
Although the article posted seems great, it sure looks like it was designed and written purely by sunncomm, which to me looks just like self promotion. It would mean something if it was produced by a third party research firm, maybe it is but I doubt it. Looks like self promotion, which means nothing to me. In fact, it says nothing that has not already been said. WEAK!
recieved mine - schwab
The only reply to the register we all need from peter is a PR of a second major signed.
Great Article STEH..very informative
This is straight from the Amazon feedback section regarding Boyz II Men CD......yes Mediamax is on it but it seems the shift key is still an issue.
Silly copy protection, September 9, 2004
Reviewer: Hugh Molotsi "hughie.com" (Cupertino, CA USA) - See all my reviews
I rip all my CDs to put on my iPod so I was very unpleasantly surprised to find this CD had the MediaMax copy protection. Google "MediaMax" and you'll find instructions on how to defeat this silly copy protection (it's very simple).
As for the music, the Boyz once again show off their immaculate voices and don't seem to miss the services of Mike "Bass" McCary. However, the musical arrangements don't quite measure up to the fine vocal performances. While their faithful interpretation of "Close The Door" overcomes the overuse of synthesizers, "Let's Stay Together" doesn't do it for me. Definitely a mixed bag.
I hate to agree too, but at this point I'm not getting excited until I SEE a deal signed, or some other type of verifiable news. We have had predictions before about signings and dates, etc., but they rarely materialize. I will buy on good news only at this point.
Sting...if they were so happy with our tech on the promotional release, then why didn't they use us on the commercial release. How do you account for this. I am trying to stay positive, but this is giving me (and others) serious doubts. Your thoughts please
I have no idea?? Not at all clear. Wouldn't it be nice if someone could tell us something verifiable?
Sure sounds like our secure burn....if we aren't combining technology with key2audio, then someone is copying someone? Any thoughts?
key2audioXS with Controlled Burning feature
2004-08-31
key2audioXS provides more consumer-friendliness with Controlled Burning feature
This Fall Sony DADC will introduce Controlled Burning to its audio customers. This Digital Rights Management solution gives content-owners the freedom of allowing their end-consumers a limited amount of private copies. Controlled Burning offers a profitable compromise by granting consumers private copies whilst protecting the rights of content-owners. Controlled Burning is a sophisticated technology which allows content-owners to pre-determine how many copies off of every original may be made. Only the original disc can function as a master. The copies themselves are equipped with key2audioXS copy control, rendering copy attempts unsuccessful. Controlled burning is a secure way for record labels to allow consumers make a limited number of copies of their music while preventing uncontrolled duplication. Today a unprotected CD can be copied unlimited times and so can its copies, significantly threatening revenues of the music industry. A protected disc on the other hand stops any kind of copying and may limit a consumer's options. With Sony DADC's Controlled Burning solution content-owners and their customers are given new opportunities in using the purchased music. Music labels still ensure the protection of their content whilst customers needn't surrender their back-up copies. For more questions, please contact us at sales-xs@key2audio.com.
key2audioxs? or Mediamax? There seems to be confusion as I see it. A few sites on the internet state that the new Anastacia CD is protected by key2audioxs -Sony's technology. As others pointed out, why is it then listed on our site as protected by suncomm. This needs SERIOUS clarification by someone. Anyone have any idea?
BTW, Anastacia is HUGE in Europe. Should be a good source of rev. for SCMI and again shows confidence in the technology to use on such a big artist.
With regard to Anastacia... I don't know if this is helpful, but some people are talking about the copy protection on the disc. It is not clear however if the protection is Sunncomm's or maybe Sony's? It sure sounds a lot like sunncomms. Click on the link below

Question about Version 5. The PR states the "on the fly" technology means that music is trnasferred to the users computer via download from server and not from the CD. So does this mean that this only works for people with an internet connection...and a highspeed one at that? Do people think this will be difficult for people with dial up, as download times may be long? Any thoughts would be appreciated
yes, you are correct, we need only be concerned how many cd's are shipped. It is impossible, as you point out, to predict how many cd's are shipped based purely on stated revenue figures. Sunncomm should, at the very least, keep us up to date on this number so that we can have some way to evaluate the realistic value of the company. Hopefully, SCMI will be more transparent with this type of information.
Actually, with regard to my last post, the store sells the CD's at a marked up value, so the actual price per CD that BMG gets to figure into their revenue figures is less - therefore the number of CD's they ship will be quite a bit higher, which means more money for SCMI than my previous calculations showed.
ii2,
I think it needs to look more like this, but I could be wrong.
BMG Sales $3,250,000,000 (this is revenue) / CD price ($15 bucks) = 216,666,666 CD's sold X .04 = $8,666,666.00
Divided by 450,000,000 shares = .02 cents per share
est. PE 20 = .38 per share.
I think this may be the correct formula to use to understand this. I think it is quite reasonable that the P/E could be at least twice this, as this is a small company in the beginning stages of development. So at twice this P/E (40) we would be looking at about .80 per share.
Anyway, that is my shot at this whole thing.
Hi Everyone, new to this board but have been following the goings on for over a year and have appreciated the sharing of info. and opinions. Wasn't able to make the meeting today, but would love a summary, especially with regard to the tough questions people have raised over the past weeks (i.e. share increase, shady CPA, filing, etc.)
Thanks
