I thought it was funny that the Stop Amarin Fraud twitter site says it is: "A crusade against pharmaceutical giants like Amarin fooling US citizens"
LOL! Like Amarin is the big bully. It may be soon though. If they get a big up front cash payment for the Euro deal they can afford to buy a couple of congressmen and bribe the FDA like the big boys do.
I think most of what went on this week was the classic "sell the news" phenomenon. You have to admit there was a certain amount of that. There sure was a lot of "buying the rumor" going on leading up to it. Even after 9/24 it added $4Billion in market cap. That's a hell of a lot of rumor buying. I read the options guys were expecting an 8 dollar swing this week even before anyone said a word about MO. That's about what they got. We thought it would be up, they mostly thought it would be down and planned accordingly. I think most of them have had their fun and moved on. None of them want to risk a huge short position when anytime there could be a trading halt followed by buyout news with the stock opening $30 higher. Even AF thinks that's going to happen.
Nobody wants to hold short over the weekend.
Yet another SA article out, this one favorable.

JT - "We will be looking to expand the label."
The ads are on Youtube now, just watched one. Not bad.

They should run an ad that shows 5 people looking at the camera and says something like "cardiovascular disease is the number one killer in America. All of these people will die except one. Which one do you want to be? Take Vascepa, don't be like those other 4."
right, I edited it - maybe a billionaire next year.
Thero still has 10 million shares according to this latest Form-4. He'll be a multi billionaire soon! Good for him.
Okay, thanks. Cologuard ads are everywhere, and seem to be working.
I wouldn't mind them spending that kind of money to get that kind of response.
Any advertising people out there? Anyone know how much a good TV ad campaign like this costs?
No, but the Fly on the Wall says:
Citigroup upgraded AMRN to a BUY with a $28 price target. That got it over 16 briefly in premarket
There are only 1,283 16.00 calls for 11/16 but there are 25,000 puts at 17.00. I don't think they want it staying below 17. Whoever owns those puts does however.
Thanks, nice graph. Shows sales growth is GEOMETRIC!
I still believe in the management of Amarin and the science behind Vascepa, now more than ever. But I also still believe in the corruption inherent in the system. Ever since the PDUFA act the FDA has been basically working for Big Pharma, that's where most of their income comes from. So the big companies get what they want and the little companies and the public get screwed. Maybe they are not as corrupt as when Margaret Homburg and her hedge fund hubby were calling the shots, but the powers that corrupted them (GSK?) are still out there and even more desperate now.
Maybe they can't get to Amarin through the FDA this time but that won't stop them from trying anything else they can think of. The article I found most disturbing was that one by Politico. What the hell are they doing writing about this? Are they going to try to make this a political issue somehow? Will they buy off congress and get Maxine Waters to hold hearings on why there weren't more blacks and women in the study? Will Amarin's fate be decided by someone who couldn't even spell EPA if you spotted them the E and the A?
Following that logic, the most cost beneficial thing society can do is to take everyone who turns 65 out and shoot them. Then turn them into soylent green.
JT on another capital raise: "We already did it."
One of Bloomberg TVs scrolling headlines on the right of the screen just said "Amarin's fish oil pill tops streets hopes as bulls battle bears"
His whole point is the placebo thing but he admits:
I think it's more like 2 million Rx gives $1b in revenue. On the last quarterly they said they had 458K Rxs and $55m quarterly revenue. So you could round that to 500K Rx = $250m revenue per year. What the multiplier the street decides to put on that for the market cap is anyone's guess. It was a 4 multiple before 9/24. Sort of.

Good find. I liked this one
The increased bleeding in the V arm was not stat sig - p=0.06 and no fatal bleeding.
Thanks! Looking good!
Anyone have a link to the slide deck he's talking about?
I got through but it keeps cutting out every 5 seconds
Thanks, I've been scanning the NEJM article but can't find where that is addressed.
Thanks BB
Would you mind explaining for us laymen what CRP stands for? Thanks in advance and thanks for your contribution.
The docs like Vascepa, 83% say they will prescibe.

The complaint of the woman who said there were too many white men in the trial echoes the tactic GSK used against another of their competitors, Dynavax (DVAX). They got the FDA to make a paid GSK consultant, Dr. Daum, the chairman of the adcom and he browbeat the other participants into demanding a new trial with more blacks. Of course the new trial showed even more efficacy but that was years and millions in lost revenue later. Not sure if the new FDA is as corrupt now as it was then, but I bet they will try that angle again.
Bad day to be a fish.
HARUMPH! HARUMPH!
Even Orringer agrees:
Thanks! NEJM doesn't seem to concerned about mineral oil. I doubt your average PCP or cardiologist will be either.
Does NEJM say anything about mineral oil? Bet not.
