My heart is right there with everyone who is packing it up today.
Thoughts on selling the Smiles Club?
It's not at the studio level only, they are taking the green screen option to the schools, think of the thousands of new customers that they can generate in the studios just by show casing that one option.
Looks like Lifetouch has up-graded to a green screen. What are we doing to compete?
Looks like another story in the stltoday, mostly just what's been posted here.
The others are right. This DM needs to be told immediately that she is in violation. Try printing off the time sheet for the weeks she's doing this. I don't think the original time rings change on it. Couldn't hurt to try, and if it's right then your using the company's own documentation to support your claim. Good luck.
Her dm can access her appointment list, if she can't then the studio support can (they are open on Monday) they should be able to help her, I would think CPI would have planned ahead on that one since it's not their first closing. As for the aquisitioner, go out and educate (nicely) that person so they are not telling people the wrong thing. If you have to have them at least let them know what actually happens, these folks aren't our folks they are outsourced, so they really may not have a clue.
Just an fyi, no one can just change your time rings, they have to check with you before they do, not the otherway around. Learned that from a previous DM. But remember they do have the wi life so just be accurate about clocking in and out.
It's Easter weekend. If you're a pic me then take a shopping cart and fill it with those celebrate moms bags. You'll have a whole box gone very quickly. Just do that till they are gone, so you won't waste them. There are no picme coupons in them, just toss that birdseed coupon in the trash. No sense in having to lug those full boxes to the trash. I'm so sorry that you are closing.
Pregnancy discrimination is classified under the sexual discrimination/harassment catagory, according to our elearning.
Again,defined by CPI.
Once again, I stated that, if the person experienced what she said she did, then in CPIs own training videos, they themselves defined that type of discrimination, there are even scenarios that illustrate it. So, again, CPI defined the discrimination, I just paid attention and can repeat it. So, please feel free to go into any studio, access your own elearning and see for yourself.
Furthermore, please go check your law books, it is not illegal to say a word or phrase, or to define it, otherwise all teachers would be in jail. I can back what I say, can you?
We have a resource that all employees have to watch in our elearning and it addresses what the definition of sexual discrimination is, so if this person experienced what she did then by the companies own definition, it's considered sexual discrimination. If you'd ever done elearning you would know that.
It's sexual discrimination. You can't change a persons schedule, work requirements etc. of a pregnant woman without a doctors note from her doctor, or it's considered sexual descrimination. If you've done elearning it's right there under sexual harrassment.
Check with your DM and the lab to see if you can do this. (My 2nd DM told me that if we lose our link to the home lab they would ask us to burn a cd and send it to the lab and the lab would print our pics off it.) So if they say ok, burn a cd with the ordered pics on it (use your generic ones if you don't have enough of the labeled ones, if your out ask a sister studio) label the cd and attach a laser sheet of the order to it, bag them up and schedule a pick up with UPS to send it to the lab, get the exact address from the lab, this should at least get prints in. I would do a wburn in the sas to account for the cd so your LP doesn't go crazy. Again check with the lab, studio support, and your DM, because if this won't work better to know before you tell a customer they can order prints. Make sure you document EVERY CD burned for this purpose in SAS and send it in with your nightly numbers so the DM can track too and cover your bottom with LP.
There are 10 sections of "confidential" items. There is a provision if I read correctly that our creditors can take the federal income tax refund that CPI may have had coming. There is also a section stating that the Candian Side has retained their own counsel. So, my question, Why is there 10 sections that need to be confidential? Now? Is it to keep it from us? investors? potential buyer(s)?
Easter is not a paid holiday. It's Good Friday that's the paid holiday.
Had to share, on my messages I found a message from a short term lender who wanted to let me know my business could qualify for a short term loan to help me with cash flow issues. I died laughing.
Like I said, I was told it was based on the individual contract with the host store, in an effort to save labor costs. Hours across the board were cut down to as low as 21 hrs a week, to some stores being open 7 days with full hours. Clear as mud right?
The stores that hours were cut in, were based on that stores contract with their host store on how many hours the lights had to be on. It had nothing to do with performance and everything to do with saving money. I know, I know, why would you cut the hours in a store or close a store that was performing well? Bottom line, those stores could be closed or have reduced hours, based on their individual contract, according to a former higher up.
By all means offer the 34.99 option, correctly.
After telling them about the collections, then tell them, We do have a Favorite Pose pkg. It's 9.99 for one person and 14.99 for more than one. But since you really like this enhanced pose you can get it for only $20 more so it's a $120 value that you get for ONLY $34.99. You've told them they can have it, and what it costs, and they get to choose whether or not to buy it. You've upsold and they trust you. Win/Win for you.
I consistantly have a good PRS as well, more importantly than that, I have personal integrity.
We will have to agree to disagree on this point.
We have to honor the wording of our advertising, period. We can't make up our own rules. There is a little law out there call "truth in advertising" and it can bite us in the butt big time.
So even though it's tempting to make up our own policies to increase our sales, it is unethical, and possibly illegal.
That is not company policy.
Believe me "with any purchase" is a big step for marketing. They've been in the "free" mode for so long that it's a huge step for them. Also we've trained our customers "it's free!" for 3 years, so we have to now train them to purchase again.
We could lose the volumn that we need to show a potential buyer, so baby steps are what's needed to retrain our customers that they must buy something.
I mean look at our overhead signage, we have the cutsie smile save junk facing out, when I think the 70% percent off would draw more attention, and give them the mindset I can save money. There is a big difference between free/and save money. When we think save, we think of spending, when we think free, we're thinking not spending anything. I think marketing panicked in 2010 and forgot that.
The AO flyers used to say "one per family per session" that's why we would get multiple visits from the same family. The policy used to state we could give them more than one in a session if a customer complained, but we were supposed to tell them "one last time." The current flyer says "one per family through May 15..." It is 1 person for 9.99 but it does say a fee for additional subjects. The fee is a flat rate of $5, not per person. They can choose to upgrade to an enhanced pose for $20 (it used to be $30). We are supposed to offer it as an upsell. The flyer also says PLUS a free 10x13. There is no mention of a free 10x13 only, so the 10x13 is free with purchase.
As to the Smiles club, your rules are listed on the table tent your supposed to have on your sales table. Watch out for the word any on it though. I explain the Smiles as this, "this is your DISCOUNT card, you get 10% off, a free enhanced sheet, and your 5 favorites sent to your phone email, with the purchase of a collection (I point to the 10x10) you get one of these unframed and unmounted." I don't promote the free framed one, because of the company's current situation. Using the word discount, implies with purchase, so you don't "it's free!" train them.
Keep the marketing ideas coming! Have you noticed, when you post them here, our marketing team "has a new promotion" that is the same or close. Looks like finally someone is listening to the carpet line. Recall, the $80 CD, then the free 10x13 with purchase of ao, now ta da a free 16x20 with drum roll please.... purchase!
For call list freebie frequent flyers, use the script, "Little Johnnies 7 month milestone is coming up, and I wanted to remind you of the great favorite pose pkg/featured collection which is on sale right now that we have so you can get your favorite pose/poses for his baby book." Notice no free, and you called them. Little tip from my old DM when we had to call 20 people every day. Rule is, we have to call them and try to get them to book an appt. doesn't always have to be a free offer.
You are being used for entertainment by this oapps, please use the ignore feature.
I've never had them to complain about that. I have cds from my own sessions and I don't have an issue with it.
Sorry if you took offense.
Yes it does, we have to look at ourselves in the mirror.
Here's the deal, they remember how they were treated when they didn't have money, and when they do get money, they go back to the people who treated them well.
You make them understand that they NEED the CD. I share a personal loss of a picture of mine in a very common experience. I make them understand how upset losing that very important picture still affects me to this day. I also tell them about everything you can do with the CD, arts and crafts, clothing, blanket throws, being able to give out that last print of their favorite pose, you make them understand the personal value of being able to print anytime they need to. After that, it's mostly they just don't have the money for it. I'm very passionate about that CD, can you tell?lol
Take out anything that isn't produced by our lab. I'm thinking that I may just have to drop the top collection to the silver with 2 unframed 10x10s. At least I know for sure the 10x10s will come in with the order in the same bag. Hello? it's still a 180 sale, think anyone will complain about making and saving money at the same time?
Just a thought, do you think the working DMs are haunting this site just to spy? or worse, because the don't know anything either.
Just think about it, our conference calls, we are muted, and they don't want us to say anything negative or ask hard questions. If they are doing that to us, just exactly what in the heck are the RDs doing to them? and the BOD is doing to the RDs?
Aren't the BOD tired of listening to themselves yet? Look at where thats gotten them.
oapps is entitled to post here, we are EMPOWERED to ignore her. If she bothers you, use your empowerment! lol
I looked at ADP, now I'm being paid on Friday. I can't access the actual statement.
We are investors in this company, we are not necessarily share holders. But, investors we are, we invest our talent, our financial resources, and our personal social media forums, now we are spending our time off to keep each other informed about developing events as they come to light since the company is not. We are the force that makes shareholders money.(or used to) So no, shareholders we are not, but, investors we absolutely are.

Corporate did NOT notify us 3 days before the change of pay. We got an email from ADP telling us our check amount on Monday morning before 1am, note ADP is not corporate. We got an email in the afternoon of Monday,(a government holiday) our pay hits the paycards/checking accounts at midnight on Tues. If your studio is closed Monday through Thursday, you will not be notified until Friday, furthermore, associates who only work occassionally won't be officially notified until they work or are paid again. I have received no personal email (they have mine), or a notification in the mail (they have my address) or a phone call (they have my number)or an alert when I clocked in (we all have to). So they did NOT notify us 3 days before.
