It's very possible it may go down another penny or two, but who cares? Why stress over a few pennies if you are a true believer in what the company is trying to accomplish? If you feel the company is moving in the right direction, invest in the company and wait to see what happens. If you do not feel the company is moving in the right direction, sell your shares to others, and move on.
A 13% drop in a penny stock is not scary. A 13% drop in the DOW JONES or NASDAQ is scary.
DROP has the potential to gain 100% within a few days. Large cap stocks do NOT have that potential, so you can not trade penny stocks like you trade large cap stocks and there is no comparison.
Whatever they report on this next earnings report doesn't really matter for the long-term. What we all know is that over the last 3 months, things have been getting progressively better. We have gone from practically being in no stores, to now having a few BIG TIME retailers associated with us -- and it's not over yet. You can trust me when I say that.
Investing in stocks is all about what the future will hold, not the past, and not so much the current. Just look at APPLE. They have a trillion dollars in the bank, they are making hundreds of billions a day, and their stock has dropped almost 50% the past 6 months. Who would have guessed that 6 months ago?
You can continue to share your thoughts on this board. However, when you go from a firm supporter to a negative-Nancy within 12 hours, people just think you are trying to scare people to sell since you have sold all -- so you can buy in a few pennies cheaper later. Not really respectable. But since we all don't really know each other, who cares about that either right?
Tiger has his position in on this company at 12 cents/share. so I'm pretty confident about where the PPS is right now!
No need to feel bummed. Everyone needs to just calm down! Just decide what sort of investor/stock trader you are. With stocks like DROP, you can try to guess the short-terms high and lows, and save a few pennies here and there. However, the one time you guess wrong and sell a majority of shares, and the stock JUMPS, you will be very sorry. Nobody can guess when these types of jumps will happen. To guess that there is "no positive news in the foreseeable future to move this stock up" is just a guess. If the stock market were so easy to guess, then everyone would be rich. When people least expect great news, is when great news is produced.
Personally, Fuse Science is a long-term play. By the end of 2013, this stock will at least be above 50 cents. If things go very well, we could be over $1. I don't want to miss the start of that uptrend because I want to save the "potential" of losing 2-3 cents on the stock price.
Not all of the arguments you make towards your concerns make any sense. Why would people pay three bucks for ElectroFuse when they can buy a 32 oz bottle of Gatorade for less? Have you tried running or exercising after drinking 32 oz of liquids? Or perhaps people can't fit electrolye drinks into their pockets, while they can barely even feel the ElectroFuse when it's there. Convenience. Most people I know would pay for convenience.
If your thinking makes sense, then why do people spend $8-12 on a shot of vodka at the bar, when they can just spend $3-5 to down a beer and get the same amount of alcohol? They must be stupid?
5 Hour Energy probably didn't make sense to you when it first came out either. Why would people spend that much money on a bottle of 5 hour energy when they can just a pop a B-vitamin and down a cup of coffee for much less?
Please bring some legitimate arguments to the table.
A lot of people would be surprised by the power of twitter. I personally don't even use twitter, and don't follow it. However, there are a lot of people that do. And there are a lot of people that religiously follow others on there. For example: Although my personal opinion of Kim K is not that high, she sold 50,000 purses for a company with one tweet. That right there is the power of "tweets." Old school selling in stores is great, but it's even better when combined with new school selling techniques.
I must also agree that the products are tremendous, but the bottles are not that great. It's better in warmer weather when the "liquid" inside is more fluid. However, in colder weather, it's even more difficult to get the Powerfuse and Electrofuse out of the bottle -- and you always think you're leaving a bit inside which isn't a great feeling since they are $3 / bottle!
I would also encourage everyone that has been ordering on poweredbyfuse.com to start ordering from Fuse's new retail customers. If you're near a Golf Galaxy, go buy it from them. If you're not near any current retailers that carry it, buy it on drugstore.com. The more sell-through we can get from Fuse's customers, the better. It might not be as much profit for Fuse, but it will create a bit more confidence for their customers.
You only need to look at the twitter comment by Daymond John from last week:
Daymond John ?@TheSharkDaymond 16 Apr
Great article by @thestreet about me, @TigerWoods & @fuse_science. Tiger & I R used 2being counted out. GET READY!
I'm pretty excited about his "GET READY!" comment, and I think all Fuse investors should be too.
Most pink sheets do not make it. In order to make it, I think a lot of things need to go right. However, a few musts:
1. A great product - There is no question that Powerfuse and Electrofuse are great products. In a time when a lot of people are becoming more and more health-conscious about supplements, this is perfect timing. All natural ingredients, no sugar crash, fits easily into your pocket, easy to use, the list goes on...
2. Good management & the execution of the "game plan" - There must be a game plan and a vision, and great people to lead in that direction. They have lined up the brand ambassadors, they have diluted some shares in order to go into mass production of the product, and now they are starting to put this product into stores. This is a very positive chain of events. Once the products are in the stores, they can use these brand ambassadors to promote the product. That is advertising free of charge. Very smart.
and another very important aspect..and in my view one of the more important ones...
3. Luck and timing - All successful people and businesses will tell you that without some good luck and good timing, they would not have been successful. Luck and timing can refer to any number of things -- perhaps Brian or another management member sat next to Daymond John during some sort of event, and that's how their relationship started. Maybe Walgreens or another retailer had another energy supplement supplier have some issues when Fuse knocked on the door. Great timing. Everyone needs a little bit of luck and timing...
I believe Fuse has all of these, and they may need a little bit more luck with great sell-through, but I think with a great product, great management and partners (DJ), and super brand ambassadors, we are in a significantly better position than a lot of other pink sheets.
By the way, DJ is determined to prove everyone wrong that he is only promoting Fuse for a few bucks. He is determined to see this thing succeed, and I wouldn't bet against him. To him, his reputation is more important than a couple of million dollars. I doubt he will let Fuse go under, when he has been connected to this company on national TV already.
Yes, they should have enough money to roll-out the products nationally. However, they do need sell-through in order to sustain enough cash-flow. If they roll out nationally, and nothing sells, then Fuse is in trouble. However, I don't think that will be the case. I believe the hardest part is getting the product out there, and that is what Fuse is doing right now.
Once the product is out there, I think there will be plenty of sell-through. With the type of margins they are making, they can easily become self-sustaining.
Remember, all of the "stars" have a extreme interest in getting the company in a position where the share price is up substantially. That is where they will all make their money.
Most stars would not have taken equity into any company in the past. However, there have been many athletes and stars that started doing that in the past few years (an example would be all the athletes that took equity in Vitamin Water -- who knew of Vitamin water a few years ago??) Now all these stars have interest in growing the company since they are no longer just paid a cash sum to send out a few emails to their fan base.
The sale of the product to Walgreens probably includes some sort of "ad-allowance" which Walgreens can use to promote the product. It can be through the local ads that Walgreens runs, or some other method. Otherwise, just like many products in Walgreens and Costco, consumers will have to see it and check it out for themselves. Not all products in Walgreens has major advertising, and I'm sure they also do quite well.
There is no use for national advertising, or to have these sports stars start talking about the product full-steam without the product being in enough stores for people to go out and buy it. Not everyone will go to poweredbyfuse.com to purchase the product. When the stars begin to talk about it, consumers better be able to go to their local store (whether is Walgreens, Golf Galaxy, ABC store, etc) and buy the product.
I believe once their expected national roll-out is done, they will begin to use their stars more. That is when these "stars" will come to be of use.
I would tend to think they want to see how the trial-run goes. Obviously, whoever is involved with the trial run wants it to work out because they have a nice POS display in the stores and pretty good locations. It's not just "somewhere on the shelf" with all the other stuff. I think Walgreens is preparing for it to succeed, BUT it is still a process that a lot of products must go through.
If the trial-run is successful, then they will start loading up all the stores, and once that is complete, I believe we will get a PR. I think the entire Fuse company rules towards PR's have changed. Before they would send out a PR for just about everything. Now, they are smart about it, and will make their PR's count. As they explained in the last PR about Golf Galaxy, they will wait until the products are stocked in the stores before announcing.
Some people on this board tend to think that Fuse needs to announce EVERYTHING since they are a publicly traded company. No, they do not need to. Look at APPLE. They don't tell you anything until it's the right time. Nobody knows what they are doing, and nobody knows what products they are working on, or when they will release.
Once Fuse is in the stores (and not just on a trial-run basis) I believe they will make an announcement. Once that happens, it's almost guaranteed we will have some good sales because this means the trial-run sell-through was good.
By the way, I don't think Walgreens is the only one they are working on right now. I think we will be pleasantly surprised (to the upside) throughout the rest of 2013.
Most big chains like Walgreens/Costco, etc will do a trial run in certain stores before deciding to carry it in all their stores. As many members here have seen them (and recorded them) in stores, there is no question that it is in certain stores already. Walgreen stores are not individually run, so whatever they have in their stores comes from corporate.
Since Fuse is not in ALL Walgreens yet, I'm educated guess is the trial run is being done.
I think it will depend on what the announcement says. If the announcement says the test-trial was successful and that Walgreens will roll-out to all their stores nationwide, the stock price will jump significantly and will start an up-trend because sales numbers will follow. I don't think we'll hear anything about Walgreens for a while because these test-trials do take a little bit of time. If successful, they still need time to ship into their other stores before they make any announcements. I have a feeling Daymond is working on this one very closely -- along with other opportunities. I like the fact that he took thestreet.com article personally. His "GET READY!" is a sign of things to come. This is coming from an insider at the company that knows the day-to-day and is not just an iHub board member telling us to get ready :) It's DAYMOND JOHN who is in charge of making some of these deals happen! It's going to be an exciting year. Do not be discouraged by the 13 cent share price. So many positive things have happened the last time it was at 13 cents. The share price is just building a stronger foundation.
All contracts between suppliers and retailers are different. Some retailers will get terms (30 days to pay, 60 days to pay after delivery, or even consignment, etc). When does the sale hit the revenue books for Fuse will depend on this as well.
I'm quite sure the contracts with Discount Drug Mart, GG, and GNC are probably all different. How favorable these contracts are towards Fuse depends on the people negotiating the deal. Just like sports teams negotiating contracts with their players or potential free agents.
As Fuse products show up in more stores, and demand for the product picks up, our contracts should become more and more favorable.
The PR this morning was excellent news for a number of reasons. The PR addressed many concerns that this board has brought up the last several months. A few of my comments:
#1) It looks like the Dick's Sporting Goods deal did end up happening, although to a smaller scale. Golf Galaxy is owned by Dick's. We must keep in mind though: Having Powerfuse and Electrofuse front and center at the cash register is much bigger than having it on some shelf next to all of the other Mission products in Dick's. Placement in a store is HUGE and we have the BEST spot in the store with a nicely sized POS of Tiger.
#2) Although Tiger's quote in the PR seems very robotic, it does prove that he is still involved in one way or another. I believe all of these athletes will start to become more involved once we have INVENTORY and the goods in more STORES. There is no use for these players to come and say "buy it everybody!" if the only place for people to buy it is online. Having product in Brick and Mortar stores is still huge, along with an online presence -- because it gives it credibility.
By the way, I believe Tiger's equity in the company is around 12 cents / share so he wants the stock to go up just like the rest of us. (except maybe bgrass..)
#3) We have all said we are tired of "fluff" PR's. Well, they are listening and they have decided they will announce retail partners after the products are now in the stores. Things are happening behind the scenes, and anybody that has ever been in business before knows that a lot of deals take quite some time to finalize.
#4) Everyone that wants a Walmart deal to happen overnight is nuts. Even with DJ on board. These deals take time to happen, and even if it did happen, we wouldn't be able to supply such massive quantities at this moment. It is better for us to pick up these 50-500 retail chains, where we can supply without problem, turn over some inventory/cash, and start beefing up our balance sheet. Only then when we have a much stronger cash flow can we consider ourselves a potential supplier to a huge retail chain.
I, for one, enjoy hearing about these smaller retail chain deals. Especially when they are coupled with great retail store placement.
#5) A big part of business is about relationships. With DJ on board, it opens the doors to a lot of opportunities. However, if you expect such a successful businessman like DJ to update you on what he is doing for Fuse Science on a weekly basis, you've come to the wrong place. Building a business is just that. It's hard work and it takes a whole lot of time. Nobody builds a successful business overnight. DJ said it himself in the Fox interview. He has a lot of great things in mind and in store for this company. He will do what he did for all of his other successful businesses. With a guy like that, reputation is sometimes just as important as money. He put his name on the line, and trust me, he will do everything he can to make it successful because he wants his name associated with success.
I think I've sort of lost my train of thought, but I just wanted to type out everything I was thinking. Hope this information helps some of those that are on the fence about investing, or not sure if they should sell after a 2 cent increase. I personally added more this morning at $0.134, and can't wait to see all the positive developments over the next few months!
Hi Swankp,
Sorry for the slow response, as I was limited to 3 posts yesterday.
When I spoke to the Mission Athlete reps, they were basically saying that the marketing side of things were just getting started. I don't think they knew too much detail, but they just started introducing the Fuse Science products, and just started using the POS banners, etc. I think we will start to see Fuse Science around a lot more.
They did not sign all of those athletes to just sit around and do nothing. I've heard most of these athletes were not given cash, but were given stock options in the company so they also want to see the share price go up. The management of Fuse is very smart, and to be able to work out these type of deals with these athletes is tremendous because these type of top athlete deals don't normally work like that.
The future is bright.
Mission Athlete was exhibiting for them. Thanks
hey all. Just wanted to share some information with you guys. It looks like they're working on the marketing side of things and in store advertisements. They had a very nice "in-store" POS banner at the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, FL this past week. It had a nice image of Tiger, and some product information on PoweFuse and ElectroFuse. I would upload the image, but not really sure how. If someone can share, I will upload it to this forum.
There were a lot of people at the booth asking questions. Once they found out it was endorsed by Tiger, there was a ton of interest.
Once the word gets out even more, it will only help sales. They have spent a lot of time getting the product right, and setting up the production capacity. Once they get the Point of Sales out in the stores, sales should start taking off. Once that happens, many other mass-retailers will want to get in on the action. (doesn't it always work that way?)
This company needs some time, but is a very strong play long term. We can not expect daily movement in the share price, and I think looking at the chart doesn't really help with a penny stock with minimal volume. We just need to have positive news every now and then and as long as we're moving in the right direction, the share price will slowly start to creep up.
Good luck to all.
