Re: Congressional Staffers, AD.
Again, it was on CNBC and I know this one was mid to late last week. And get this, IT'S NOT CONSIDERED "INSIDER-TRADING", UNETHICAL, ILLEGAL OR OTHERWISE. Unbelieveable, eh?
As to your point re: "temptation... powerful draw." Trust me, I know all too well as to the temptations of this world and you only have to look as far as Washington, D.C. (lol, most of its citizens didn't even know what "D.C." meant (sad, so sad!) to see the end result of such temptations.
Quite simply, it is what got us to this point. A point, IMO, which this country will never recover, no matter who gets elected, or what party they claim to "represent".
That said, at this point in time, I wouldn't hesitate to take full advantage of anything, which I already do on a daily basis, for the most part. But, it's NOT illegal... simply putting-in the time to gather useful info./"knowledge".
GAPPER STX, TANKER DYN
But will probably be vice versa.
Gotta Go!
Re: shippers/AD...
The "insiders", lol, don't get me started. However, that story re: Congressional "staffers", trading ahead of policies their employers were working on, really made me want to kick the neighbors' dog, j/k of course. :)
Re: Gold & Silver pullback, Mike.
Fyi, units of Gold coins have leveled-off the past couple of months to 100,000 units/month.
On the other side, units of silver have increased dramatically, during the same time.
IMO, just gotta give GOLD a little more time, but will probably just be a buying op.
Anyway, just got a alert that I have a message in my iHub mailbox. I'm pretty sure I know what it's regarding, lol.
Again, GOOD LUCK to all!! :)
Re: shippers, AD.
If you haven't pulled the trigger yet, do a quick search of recent interviews, etc. on CNBC, going back 1 - 2 weeks max.
I believe it was early last week or the week before when I heard the interview on CNBC re: "the shippers", and how thought they would be doing better in this environment; however, the guest (CEO of one of the companies, I believe) gave some reasons as to why it may take longer for them to regain the reigns of the margins.
Re: George ss'ing the $$$. IMO, it is much better to MISS A TRADE than to get caught holding the bag, so sit on your hands (as hard as that will be to do). FYI, dollar is approaching lows of 1994/1995 (can't remember off the "top of me head" which year, but it was definitely one of those two years.
GOLD: (as a hedge/% of folio)...
I was trying to talk my brother into buying uncirculated GOLD.
Now, you have to know the type of person my brother is... the sterotypical "gentle giant" (unreal strength (not all "buff" though b/c he doesn't lift weights, but works hard everyday and has a "motor", which seemingly runs on jet fuel)).
He first asked me, "how much is GOLD right now?", I told him, and this is when it was only about 700/oz. He made a very good point, explaining, "why would I spend $$$ to buy something, which others are b/c they fear an economic collapse/doomsday scenario?"
Scratching my head, thinking of how to word the reply, and wondering what he was thinking, he sent another message, stating, "I think that I'll continue to let others spend their $$$ collecting GOLD, and if that scenario comes to fruition; then, I'll start "collecting" (their) GOLD."
Can't say that I blame his thinking, b/c when it comes to Darwinism, he definitely has an advantage and I'm pretty confident someone throwing GOLD coins, etc. at him won't stand a chance at stopping him from doing whatever he pleases; and, not just with their GOLD "asset", but ALL of their assets.
On another note, I see all of this as the 3rd - 5th inning of WWIII, finally! And like WWII, the United States will save the rest of the world; however, this time, it will end-up being the biggest loser as well (and I don't mean that stupid show about people losing weight, lol). Sadly, our "representatives" can't/won't let themselves see the big picture. They just hope Communist China keeps buying our debt (while both parties, IMO, keep trying to feed us b/s in order to keep the following paragraph from happening), which it will do until it hits that magic # of critical resources to start the ball rolling.
Thank God (whatever that word means to you), we have the right to overthrow the government and I nearly fallover from laughing so hard everytime someone gives me the typical response, "but the government controlls the military". Well the last time I checked, the branches of the military consisted primarily of young men and women from small, poor towns across the country, using a branch of the military in order to get out of the crappy/dead-end towns. So, I am very confident that if given the order to fire on their own people, or even family and friends, they will most likely do the opposite.
Again, I sincerely hope all of this is just a precautionary measure, and that in the end, I AM WRONG!
All That Said, I Sincerely Hope You (all) Do Very Well, During This BIG Week in the Midst of Earnings Season. I won't be around this week, although I will be putting in the DD, and trading as much as possible.
GOOD LUCK... and FLOW OUT!! :)
Re: November... EXACTLY AD.
Just stop policing the world, and when we go to war, take-over the country and ALL its resources vs. spending OUR $$$ to rebuild the dump (only to give it back to the idiots who couldn't/wouldn't stand-up for themselves in the first place). IMO, the U.S.A. should NOT be playing "God" w/ taxpayer money.
Oh yeah, and tell the UN to go to hell and get the %$#^ out of our country. Talk about a worthless organization.
Honestly, it's as easy as a fat person trying to lose weight, just admit that you're a food addict and start counting the damned calories!
DO - looking good, imo.
Probably going to start a decent-sized position before the afternoon.
CRM - Hey Mike, did you ss this one?
Hope so, and if I didn't have my head up another stock's arse, I would have, probably, lol.
This market has nothing but sideways to look forward to, imo.
In fact, the past 2 sessions were supposed to be "full steam ahead".
But I've been wrong before... last time was 1906. :)
Posting - I would welcome more people actually posting picks, when they think something is overbought, and actually have money on the line. So feel free to start posting all your awesome picks, griff. :)
Don't worry, I don't plan on posting, beyond this one.
But hey, I was right. LOL
CRM/AMZN - Hey Mike...
CRM would have been a perfect short on Friday too, gave back 2.30 today. And of course, AMZN around 163 back down today. I thought this one was pretty obvious being the rsi was right at 52 wk highs.
Anyway, have a good night.
Red Again, Imagine that! :)
I was skeered Fri when I ss AMZN and it was moving up like a freight train, but it worked-out (just hate having unnecessary things on my mind over the weekend).
Re: Mike... Yeah, but it looked far better at 6.82, no?
Don't worry, I'll be out of posts soon. :)
Re: LUV shorts... That's just terrible, even "little people" need love. Honestly, reading that post just could have ruined me day, lol.
I just can't help thinking of those little people on the show "Pit Boss". :))
RSI starts getting high, I usually ss, start building a position anyway.
I'm the opp of griff but I don't know what in the world you call it. "Mudbug" is perfect for what griff does. I guess it's just gambling w/ a little education mixed in.
QUESTION...
Do u really think the markets are going to go higher and higher, based on Friday's Squakbox quest, saying, "everything will do well (QE2). Honestly, destroying the dollar is going make these markets buzzsaw, imo, I think not. fwiw.
Re: so many high p/e stocks and rsi...
Mike, my AMZN play worked out this a.m., although I had to hold over the weekend (down about 2k), lol.
If they pop up, ss them, a little at a time of course, lol. :)
GOOD LUCK!!
RE: Chiefs, AMZN; early...
Me either, but got what I thought would happen out of AMZN, was way overbought Fri. Anyway, didn't have to use the defibulator this a.m., which is always a good thing. :)
Re: Griff... DSL is free.
If someone offered you a turd for free, would you take it?
FWIW, I would, and in fact do so, just about every morning. :)
Don't worry about ur slow DSL griff... I'm bag holding AMZN, down about 2 grand, lol.
Re: Griff, DSL, it's crap, lol. Seriously, crap.
Griff, I haven't had any prob's w/ I-HUB speed, downloading. You are using cable or T-1, correct?
One other thought, which might help your situation, make sure you have the latest updates for Adobe downloaded, and the latest version.
Anyway, hope you're having a great weekend.
OT: Chiefs, early...
You might want to cover that short on the Chiefs.
The first game that I've watched this year is almost over, and it isn't even close. 49'ers can't move the ball to save their lives. Chiefs' defense looks SOLID, and they're a young group.
The score is 24-3 late in the 4th quarter and they don't look good only on "D". :)
On another note... HOPING FOR A VERY RED DAY TOMORROW, OR AT LEAST A VERY RED DAY FOR amzn, lol.
OT: the courts look great. Oh, let me know when you decide to short 'em, lol.
Have a Good Weekend, gotta do some things.
For Profit Education - COCO's really come off the recent lows, and was up yesterday too, I believe.
Company said all along that "at these prices, we'll "buy our own stock."
S&P, broke 1147, but I didn't see if it hit 1148 (busy).
Rally, probably so.
I'm not too concerned w/ the overall market.
I just can't believe AMZN! If I owned AMZN, I would definitely be selling it, you?
Re: S&P break...
I'll call bullshit, that guy on CNBC (Squakbox) this a.m. is probably selling like mad right now.
I say sideways, until after the elections or we discover unGodly amounts of precious resources all across the U.S.
AMZN - Hate to wish for the worst but I could really use some bad news, anything, maybe Israel bombing Iran's "nuclear power plant", lol.
Actually, IMO, that would be GREAT news!
LOL early, hate to say it but I agree.
Actually, threw in the towel on the Chiefs years ago.
TIVO, no, but Chiefs are 2-0.
If the RSI is high for a stock, I'll short it, almost always.
LOL, now I'm not. Earlier in the week AMZN was downgraded, now another firm raised its target to 190, wth?
Time for the defibulator. :)
Re: shorts, NOT SO FAST, MIKE. I wasn't holding AMZN overnight this time, so I'm comfortable w/ my position. Not to mention, the buy blocks aren't that large, in AMZN at least.
AMZN - 900 short... come one snake eyes!! :)
lol, re: AMZN, well you are definitely correct.
Example (yesterday), held 900 shares overnight Wed., covered during premarket yesterday for a grand or so, started-off adding to my gains w/ quick scalps; however, it took off and I was left looking at -1200. But, as we know, markets tanked and I got lucky and ended-up doing pretty well.
If you don't have a defibulator, I don't recommend it. :)
That said, I've been watching/playing AMZN for awhile now and just don't see it going much higher, esp with the RSI getting up there, which is usually when I start to build a short position.
Markets - couldn't agree more!
The underlying fundamentals of this market quite frankly, DON'T EXIST. Need I list them? I thought not, lol.
Re: Gapping Up... AMZN! :)
Hopefully, gap, maybe run to 157 MAX (but I doubt it), and drift slowly downward, like a good little ss play. lol
AMZN - getting top-heavy, imo. Had news today re: Android app's that intergrate w/ the Kindle, kind-of cool... can highlight text and make notes, etc.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone else was looking to ss, might pop but then drop tomorrow, again, imo.
