Just wondering why use ameritrade--$11 commisions and not so great fills--I'd rather use a direct access broker with that kind of cost
Nice for you to look at higher priced stocks(5+) as they can also run well and sometimes don't have the risk as the sub penny stocks do.
There are great shorts--NFLX, BCSI, RECN
Yeah I have to agree these markets aren't good for longs--but I was thinking with all these stocks tanking--why aren't people shorting more often?
Yeah had a great day today thanks mainly to AIRT. Most people say today was a bad day, but not really--there were a ton of low floaters going up--AIRT, LWAY, WLDA, IDSA, ESMC, CALM--many of these being former high risers. Plus a lot of losers for the shorters. In my opinion, today was a great day because there was a lot of volality--exactly what traders need.
Nice EVO on those AIRT scalps
Seems like my command center freezes everyday. I'm seriously thinking of getting rid of the subscription as it is the most unreliable java application i've ever used. Only reason I've stuck to it is I am very used to the interface.
How do you open a margin account with Scottrade with less than $2000?
Holding ALDN and ESMC for weekend hold. ALDN down -9%, still a strong stock so should bounce up. ESMC down 6 days in a row, and lost the 10 mark, but should bounce up as 10 is usually a signifcant support point.
How do you get $8 commisions at ameritrade as opposed to the regular $11?
Yep, I guess you get what you pay for. But still better than ameritrade or etrade. They charge the commissions of a direct access broker and you get worse fills and less reliabity.
If you don't use some sort of technical analysis I'm not sure what you can use--level 2 works to some extent but still you can't just rely on that.
Not sure if everyone thinks this, but seems like a lot of pennies are running(although not on huge volume). So many things on my watch list and mainly T's--TFCT, TRPL, TRBY, TSRG, TMAR(naz), etc. The reason I am commenting on this is I thought pennies didn't run much in the summer or is it just on lower volume?
Odd you say that kdkd considering you are around the same age and I see you showing your ego all the time.
Yeah sad EVO was a good trader while Latino and his buddy kdkd pump all the time. I'm surprised people haven't kicked out kdkd considering I would think at least some people know him from his infamous IP room.
Yep whenever nothing in otc bb i always plan momo stocks in naz--e.g. TZOO IDSY
I think back in 1999 when Michael Parness did that, it wasn't extremely suprising(still not easy). Now, thats a different story.
I don't know what broker you are using but if it is Ameritrade(or any web-based broker) and you are a pretty active trader, then I have to say you are spending too much unnecessary money. The commissions are the same as a direct access broker but fills and reliability are worse than a direct access broker.
As least with Freetrade you have a major discount in commissions. I say go ahead and switch to Freetrade as soon as possible.
Nothing wrong with daytrading. Just depends on who you are. Not right for most people, but for some people its great.
Has anyone used MB Trading? If so, how were there fills and short availability?
Well I think he met getting a margin account so you can daytrade it. Without it, you have to wait 3 days, which is no fun.
I've noticed in your earlier posts back on the "L" board you used to trade under $5 stocks more often. Is there a reason other than their non-marginable status that you don't trade them much anymore? Also, keep up the good work, I'm sure "L" is just jealous of your success.
Hmm, I am surprised you were able to short them because usually Ameritrade doesn't have shorts in high demand. Also, I guess Ameritrade approved you for a margin account--and assuming your net worth and income is on the lower end(judging from your past posts)--I guess they don't really care as long as you have $2K?
The reason I am asking is I have a freetrade account for daytrading but I would like to use my ameritrade account for swingtrading shorts but I'm afraid they will reject me for margin due to my low net worth and income.
You were able to short OSIP, IPIX, MAGS, TASR with ameritrade/freetrade or did you use a different broker?
Yeah SPSC isn't a slug anymore. Any specific reason why you think it's going to get halted?
Could you be a bit more specific as to why lowtrades is a disaster? Thanks.
Has anyone tried lowtrades? How are their fills and their short availability?
Has anyone tried lowtrades? How are their fills and their short availability?
Is there an online brokerage that has shorts of highly in-demand shorts like IPIX, TBUS, MAGS, MACE? The reason I am asking is because I know Terra Nova and Cybertrader have these but I have under $10K and therefore I cannot open an account with these brokerages.
In DYN at 4.19
NGPS seems to be a good major_popper great day for it today likely to continue tomorrow
I was wondering why you use a 12% gain as criteria for a Major_Popper(as opposed to 10% or another number)?
Mflutie, why do use a 12% gain for your popper system as opposed to 10% or another number?
I guess, but that was a penny stock, what did you expect?
Anyone remember AremisSoft? I wasn't there, but is that the biggest drop ever(91%) due to a trading halt? Also does one remember how much volume was traded the day before(to think about all the people in it)?
Well I guess that makes sense, but depends on how ABIX responds to NAZ's requests. Still, I would never short a low float stock that is up 100%+ until after the buying has subsided.
anyone have any thoughts about where NXIA is going?
Anyone know if interactive brokers, etrade, or mytrack allows you to short after-hours?
Does anyone know if Etrade or Interactive Brokers will allow shorting in after hours?
Does anyone know if Etrade or Interactive Brokers will allow you short in extended hours?
