Hi Tech,
All I meant was that WRAP doesn't care about which KDS they get right now. They are first interested in what the KDS can produce in general. Yes, this is very much like what AGES did at AP. I guess they want to do their own trials.
At this point WRAP is not so much interested in the KDS itself, but rather in what can be recovered from the processed waste. If these recovered products prove useful/valuable and practical to recover, then the KDS may indeed have a bright future in the UK.

edfrank,
Me too. A significant accomplishment!
Sounds like they can still improve the separation process, and therefore the quality/quantity of the recovered fiber.

Another great catch Juggsy.
898 applicants and only 48 selected
... one of them AGES.
WOW !!!
Another mention of AGES!
Nice find, Juggsy.
That's what I was thinking too. (eom)

Peter2000, pack your bags.... lol
Make that... over 45% up in the last month
... and this is just the beginning (IMO)
It's nice to see, isn't it?
Now, should we get some nice updates and/or good news in the near future then I think we should continue this upwards hike. I wonder if it really could have something to do with the recent "shorting" changes. I do find it hard to believe that the MMs would bother with a stock that has such low pps and volume. But you just never know.
Either way, I like it.
Could this be...
... the beginning of a nice steady climb for FASC?
Looks like we're up about 30% over the last month without any major news (or maybe on the contrary... the news about FASC is finally reaching the right people)
Go FASC!
Chambers,
My feeling is that it will be near the end of the month.
I4C6S
He is delirious, 10-Z.
Probably can’t stand the fact that no one cares what he has to say.
That is good news...
although I thought that the cyclone has a higher potential for fire than the chamber.
I agree...
Next year I would expect (on the average) a KDS every month.
And there is always AGES who could match that if they finally start selling their systems.
Yes it does work...
By work I mean that it disintegrates materials into fine powder and removes moisture from them without drying. That much is a fact and is undeniable.
I don't know where you are but if you are anywhere near one of the existing sites than you should go and see for yourself (since chances are you will not believe me that it works)
I know that we can't have every investor go and see the KDS working, but if a few people (including the 'non-believers’) called FASC then I am sure a site visit could be arranged.
Any volunteers?...
Thanks TR,
That all makes sense. It seem though like the PRs are having less impact as time goes by.
Sam, in your opinion, is there anything that might bring the price up (more than a couple of pennies) in the near future?
Just curious of people’s views as the last few PR didn't seem to do a thing.
"In reply to: A deleted message..."
Oh no, looks like I missed another one. Those are the most entertaining ones...lol
OK, agreed. (eom)
Except that AGES is not obligated to make any PRs, or for that matter tell anyone (except its board members) what they are up to. That is up to the company you invested in.

Maybe FASC will take care of that part.
I also assume that the media will carry the SDTC announcement as they did here:

You are welcome guys. (eom)
"KDS-3000" means 3000 lb/hr of water removed
The new AGES KDS-3000 will dewater at a rate of 3000 lbs/hr and will guarantee a maximum power load of 255 kW/hr.
You're welcome. I4C good things coming! (eom)
Here is the new AGES PR text...
AGES KDS Biomass Fuel Preparation Technology
The FASC patented KDS technology incorporated into the larger AGES KDS3000 can dewater and disintegrate wet biomass waste materials such as Pulp and Paper biosolid sludges & Hog (wet bark), kinetically, without heat, and requiring less than 1/4 the energy of conventional large footprint drying systems.
The KDS dry product produced from these wet biomass materials can be combusted directly in a Thermix/LBE dust firing system. These dust burners are fired downward into Thermix designed combustion and segregation chambers which separate the ash/clay and produce clean 1000C products of combustion that can be directly inserted into existing or new boilers. This then replaces fossil fuels reducing green house gas emissions and subsequently reducing climate change.
Once dewatered in the AGES KDS technology, the dry fibers can be separated from the clay and have been proven, in certain cases, to be able to go back directly into the papermaking process reducing the overall plant MW requirements.
Sustainable Development Technology Canada chooses AGES project for funding
AGES is pleased to announce that funding for a project to fabricate and locate an AGES KDS-3000 waste to fuel conversion machine at a Pulp and Paper plant, or related industrial facility, has been approved by Sustainable Development Technology Canada - SDTC (See www.sdtc.ca for details of the news release). The KDS-3000 is a large scale production machine designed by AGES to kinetically dewater and disintegrate a variety of wet waste biomass materials which have associated disposal costs. The dry disintegrated biomass processed by the AGES KDS-3000 may be used as a substitute green fuel or be further processed to yield useful value added materials such as recovered paper fiber and kaolin/calcium carbonate.
This prestigious green technology funding is a non-repayable grant designed to bring forward new technologies that will reduce Green House Gas (GHG) emissions from industrial processes which make significant progress towards sustainable development and addressing climate change.
SDTC is a funding organization created by the Canadian Government to provide assistance to consortia wishing to showcase newly developed technologies that have wide spread market potential and, when implemented on a large scale, will positively impact greenhouse gas emissions, help reach the goal of sustainable development and help with clean air and climate change.
The funding decision by SDTC involved a rigorous due diligence standard on the AGES management team and the AGES technology. As part of this process AGES had to demonstrate that wide dissemination of this technology would result in the significant mitigation of GHG emissions from industrial processes. The following points highlight the strengths of the project and motivation behind SDTC's decision to select AGES for the funding;
1. AGES management –The background and past performance of AGES management in new product and market development was an important factor in the decision to fund the project. For this project AGES was able to assemble a consortium with tremendous credentials in the commercial, academic, business-development and engineering fields.
2. AGES technology - AGES was able to demonstrate that the technological challenge confronting the AGES engineering group, to design and build the 3x scaled up machine, will not be a major hurdle. SDTC evaluators witnessed operations of the first generation KDS working at a large pulp and paper de-inking facility in Ontario. The SDTC team was shown the demonstration machine removing 900 lbs of water per hour from wet biomass with a minimal power consumption of 85 kWh per ton of wet feed material. The new AGES KDS-3000 will dewater at a rate of 3000 lbs/hr and will guarantee a maximum power load of 255 kW/hr. This is the essence of the AGES KDS technology.
The AGES KDS-3000 will be a modular unit that can disintegrate and remove water at LESS THAN ¼ the energy required by conventional drying and disintegrating systems, with the advantage that the new KDS machine has a much smaller footprint than conventional equipment.
3. AGES potential market - AGES commissioned an independent business plan which was submitted to SDTC during the project evaluation. The business plan verified that the market potential for the AGES KDS technology is enormous in North America alone. Demand for this new technology is being driven by the requirement of Pulp and Paper companies to find solutions to ever increasing costly disposal of their bio-solids (sludges). These out-of-control costs are having a detrimental financial impact on corporate earnings. Coupled with this volatile cost uncertainty is the problem of continually researching new disposal strategies as existing options close down or are impacted by tightening environmental regulations.
The new AGES KDS technology not only negates the disposal costs of these problem biomass waste streams, but combined with the Thermix dust burning and clay segregation system can create useful thermal energy (Btu) for use in industrial processes (ie. creation of steam to generate electrical power). When the 25 EU countries are considered, the potential market diffusion of this exciting new technology is staggering as the environmental situation in the EU is much more serious, and energy costs can be 3 times higher than in North America.
KDS technology has been specifically developed by the AGES R&D team, with funding assistance from equity partner Hydro Quebec-Capitech, to economically dewater and disintegrate wet biomass materials.
AGES owns the exclusive licensing, manufacturing and sales rights to the First American Scientific Corporation's KDS technology used in the AGES KDS-3000 for Canada, USA, and all 25 countries in the EU.
Thanks 10-Z,
I always enjoy reading your posts too. Especially the ones on RB...lol
tech,
I'm not familiar with their technology but looks like an incinerator (a fluid bed where they drop stuff in to burn). It mentions 1600 C hot gas. I think they are just burning the $#!+ out of it. Whatever doesn't burn comes out the side... but that's just a guess.
Yes it could mean salaries. I cannot see SDTC approving a bill for a Christmas bonus though. Basically AGES will need to prove every cost with a tax receipt and that includes salaries.
See here: http://www.sdtc.ca/en/funding/advice/eligible_costs.htm
The additional funding can be cash, or services. I think anything that FASc could sell to AGES including consultation and manpower.
As for the pps… not bad for one days. Let’s hope it continues
If I could add a couple of things here…
SDTC is set up by Government of Canada and they are VERY meticulous about how their money gets spent. In fact they will only provide funding up to 1/3 of the total required by the applicant to complete their project. Every penny spent on the project in question must be shown to SDTC and only then will they hand over their 1/3 of the costs (a little bit at a time). All the funds provided by SDTC must be used towards the stages of development detailed in the application for funding. So contrary to what some may think, this money cannot be pocketed by those at FASC or AGES.
IMHO, this is a HUGE development, magnitude of which will not be fully realized for weeks to come. I believe that the credibility of AGES has just been significantly enhanced in the Pulp and Paper industry. Just look at the key players dedicated to marketing this technology :
Government of Canada
- Minister of Natural Resources Canada
- Minister of the Environment Canada
University of Toronto
Hydro Quebec
Thermix
Uniso
etc.
plus yet unnamed Pulp & Paper Mills!
Sales of the large KDS are now just a matter of time...
"DustBuster" sure is working hard on RB today.
Clueless as always… but at least he’s trying.
Paranoia must be setting in as his bashing job is getting harder.
PS...
My "CNN" post was just a joke. eom
Sure is quiet here today...
Must be that good old 'calm before the storm' again.
Some news this week sure would be nice...
Nothing major... but maybe followed by a brief mention on CNN
Some small updates to AGES pages...
The following is a new page under "About Us"...
http://www.ages-biomass.com/ages_technology.htm
There are also a couple of minor changes in the following:
http://www.ages-biomass.com/faq.htm
http://www.ages-biomass.com/company-information.htm
Wow, that's a pretty optimistic outlook, net-man...
Be careful or you-know-who will claim that you are pumping...LOL
...existing. eom
In fact what I heard is that AP is bending over backwards to assist AGES in all their trials/demos/R&D (whatever one might want to call it).
I think that implies interest.
