purchasing any interest in a security whether it is short or long negates your right to write off any losses made in the trading of that security during the preceding 30 days
If there was any such thing in the pipeline wavx would not be trading at the levels they are trading at right now and even this management would not be playing with fire with regard to delisting & dilution of shareholder value
wavx is doing very well to be still trading at double digits after the decimal point at this stage. Considering what I had to sell I got about 74 times what my shares were worth last friday
Short wavx to $0.00
I'm going short first thing tomorrow
Just checked with gainskeeper & the wash sale consequences for me on the 32000 shares I sold is only $7,500; which means I can't write off that $7,000 to save 3 or 4 thousand
I reckon if I get in first thing & short 32,000 shares I will be up about $.30 by friday. $.20 of this is lost to the wash sale I will still be up $3200 by friday
that was nearly three years ago when the stock was manipulated up from .80 to $5 in a couple of days on a BS PR which bore no fruit & was followed by another BS PR which led to class action lawsuits, things did look good at the time I posted that message but it was all smoke & mirrors by the sprague boys in order to make their friends rich @ the expense of the honest gullible investors who fell for their BS IBM & INTC Press releases
Read up about old sprague & his father-in law & you will see the type of people you are trusting with your cash
The spragues bucket shop will go out of business soon & when this POS is selling under $.05 you will all wish for $.74
Mark My Words
I wish I had listened to tlochner
I sold 32000 shares today for .74 I am not a degenerate gambler that would let $24,000 ride on a 1,000,000,000 / 1 shot at making back the $100,000 I already lost
weby I will not regret selling because for the first time today I have applied the same investing guidelines i would to any other stock towards wavx & I did not sell at the bottom only a couple of weeks ago it traded at a 30%+ discount from the price I got today & that will not prove to be the bottom either
Like I said I regret buying, holding but not selling
Weby, of course I have regrets, I regret ever buying in to the hype & I feel very foolish for doing so. I would be lying if I didn't admit I hope (now that I have given up on the POS penny stock) that todays decision will prove to be the best I've made so far in relation to wavx
There was a time when the whole thing about Old sprague & his father-in-law came out, the forgiving themselves the loans they authorised for themselves, the extravagant non-performance-based bonuses, the appointing of unqualified-family-members to senior positions within the company, & all the other underhanded stuff that was going on around the same time.that I was going to sell if I could have gotten a few cents more.
But then I got sucked in again by the hype on this board.
I know now that even though I lost over 100K todays sale was the best thing I've done so far in relation to this stock
I would have done so long ago but i listened to you & your cheerleaders trying to tie this thing to everything from palladium to xbox & everything else in between
Also unlike you I never gave a timeline for when I was going to sell & move on, you said on numerous occasions in 04 that if within one year wave was still lingering where it was you would sell up & move on
Well old timer you will have moved on to a better place before this stock will see 04 prices again
snackman, I don't think so. a penny stock, 17 years in business with revenues less than a new york bartenders take home pay
another head fake, how much longer can some of you guys stick with this soon to be delisted penny stock. today was a golden opportunity to dump this pos & that is just what I did
you don't have to have a heart attack to see the stock not appreciate
snackman,
that is a good signal to buy alright,
an even better one would be if the board of directors were indicted by the SEC, or maybe if they announced that they were closing the doors , then we all should load up
The cafeteria of any real company has bigger revenues than wavx
I seen the potential for the next 12 months 5 years ago (60 months ago)
yeah but I'm not still saying it
SNACKMAN, on November 23 2003 we were
trading @ double todays price

The strong shareholder base kept this company in business since delisting. They are about to repay us in spades. That's good enough for me, I THINK.

In the next 12 months.
Enough for me.
You THINK I am here for my health or this thread?
I expect to break $1.00 by Tuesday
Bid & ask are tied @ $.87
Snackman, How much does wave pay Dutton for the coverage
Snackman, you've been singing that same tune for quite a while now. I know quite a few wavx shareholders & all of them bar none wish they had not held onto their shares
I know I wish I had sold all of mine last week
Does anyone know if wave has been nominated for any of the RSA awards.
The winners are to be announced at the keynote speech.

CNBC
I was watching CNBC this evening They have a show called bullseye. They were talking about file swapping & the impact it is having on hollywood, even moreso than the music industry. At the end of the discussion one guy said that someone should come come up with a solution soon, the other guy said "I wish I could, I'd be an instant Billionaire."

Next Wave Of Advances In Tech Will 'Surprise Us,' Gates Predicts
Monday April 26, 10:07 am ET
By Patrick Seitz
Bill Gates, who foresaw a revolution in computing and built a business empire on his vision, scoffs at notions the software field is mature.
The Microsoft (NasdaqNM:MSFT - News) co-founder and chairman still sees big opportunities, though he sees big challenges, too.
To take the industry to the next level, he says, technology must get better. Web services software and standards must improve so that disparate computers and programs can share and update information as they get it. Speech recognition and online search need to be more precise.
How much promise remains for entrepreneurs? Plenty, Gates insisted during a tour of several top universities this year. In a stop at MIT, a student asked Gates if another tech company could ever match Microsoft's success.
"If you invent a breakthrough in artificial intelligence so machines can learn," he responded, "that is worth 10 Microsofts."
On the occasion of IBD's 20th anniversary this month, Gates shared his thoughts on tech's future and past in an e-mail interview. (This interview concludes our special series of Q&As.)
When IBD published its first issue, Microsoft was nine years old. Still privately owned, it was known for its MS-DOS software for IBM PCs. It was more than a year away from shipping the first version of its Windows system.
Microsoft came public in March 1986. Since then, its stock has soared more than 24,000%, despite three flat years of late.
In fiscal 1985, Microsoft earned $24 million on sales of $140 million. Last year, it earned $7.5 billion on sales of $32.2 billion.
IBD: You recently visited five universities to talk to students about the future of information technology. What were your impressions from the tour? Did you learn anything?
Gates: It was great to meet so many students who share my enthusiasm for the future of computing, and I hope this trip encouraged even more young people to take up computer science.
There are so many exciting and challenging problems to tackle - from natural language processing to navigating large amounts of digital information - and the way we solve them will help technology further improve our lives.
I was excited to see so many students interested in these challenges, and I can't wait to see the contributions they'll make in the future.
IBD: Are the opportunities as great for tech entrepreneurs today as when you started out? What areas do you think hold the most potential?
Gates: Computing is fast moving to the center of the way we live and work. Hardware and software continue to become more powerful every day, and we're just starting to see the impact of fundamental technology advances such as Web services, speech and ink, and an expanding range of new computing devices.
If I were starting a new company today, there's no doubt that it would be a software company - we've only just started to see the incredible impact that software can have on how we live, work and learn.
IBD: What's your prediction about the long-term impact of Linux and the open-source software movement? And how is it likely to affect Microsoft?
Gates: Open source has been around nearly as long as computers themselves, and it will be part of the way people develop software for many years.
There is room for many different development models in the industry. Microsoft believes that we can serve our customers best through the commercial model, with focused innovation and research investments that push the state of the art forward. We're confident that this approach delivers the best value to customers.
IBD: Looking at the last 20 years in the software business, what development most surprised you? And what lessons did you learn from it?
Gates: I've been amazed by so many things. By how quickly, after the first personal computer was launched in 1981, PC technology was adopted around the world. By how e-mail and instant messaging have become the primary means of communication for many people and businesses. By how fast the Web has become the richest source of information the world has ever seen.
And now we're seeing wireless technology grow at an incredible rate.
I guess what I've learned from all this is that technology will never lose its ability to surprise us.
IBD: You've talked a lot about this being the Digital Decade. In what ways are things developing faster or slower than you expected?
Gates: Many of the longtime dreams of computer science are starting to come true - we now have powerful devices available in almost any form you want, computers that understand speech and handwriting, and networks that put the world's information at your fingertips.
I've always been optimistic about the potential of computers, but even I'm still surprised by how much they're capable of today - and how fast their capability continues to grow.
Yet we still have many tough problems to solve. For example, it's still not simple enough to access all your digital music and photos wherever you want them, or to find the answers you need in a growing ocean of digital information.
But I'm confident that software breakthroughs will make computing vastly more powerful and intuitive in a few short years.
IBD: As a parent, what aspects of children using technology today excite you the most and what aspects concern you?
Gates: My kids are part of a generation that won't be able to remember what life was like without PCs and the Internet. I think that's pretty exciting - this technology is like oxygen to them, and the ways they're using it will define how we build computers and write software in the future.
Samsung and JP Mobile Release Advanced Solution for Secure Mobile E-Mail; Push E-Mail / Calendar support For Microsoft Windows Mobile-based Smartphones
http://www.tmcnet.com/usubmit/2004/Apr/1035476.htm
DALLAS --(Business Wire)-- April 27, 2004 -- JP Mobile(R), a leading provider of enterprise mobility software, today announced that JP Mobile's SureWave(R) Enterprise Server (SureWave) is the first solution in North America to support push-based e-mail access to Novell GroupWise(R) on the Samsung SCH-i600 Smartphone. The i600 is powered by the Microsoft(R) Windows Mobile(TM) operating system and offered in the U.S. by Verizon Wireless. With SureWave, business customers can securely access corporate data and also automatically receive new e-mail messages and calendar items on their i600 with no user intervention.

JP Mobile has qualified the Samsung i600 for full integration with SureWave, which leverages native Microsoft Windows Mobile applications and ensures that customers don't have to learn new applications to take advantage of the new technology. They also can access their Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Domino or Novell GroupWise(R) corporate e-mail server.
"Corporations view remote access to their data as a key driver to deploying mobile solutions," said Jason Gordon, product manager in the Mobile and Embedded Devices Division at Microsoft Corp. "With industry partners like JP Mobile and Samsung bringing strong functionality like SureWave to Windows Mobile-based Smartphones such as the Samsung i600, we expect the mobile computing market to continue to grow."
According to a new study from the Yankee Group, Verizon Wireless is the leading carrier for corporations and the only carrier in the U.S. to deploy the i600 for its CDMA network.
"We are pleased to add the Samsung i600 Smartphone to our list of supported devices, as it has been particularly popular in the enterprise and professional segments," said Ananth Rao, executive vice president of JP Mobile. "We believe this is due to the innovation in the Microsoft Mobile operating system and the outstanding design and packaging developed by Samsung. SureWave has been focused on enterprise environments from day one, and now with the help of our alliances, we can continue to provide best-in-class and flexible solutions tailored to the enterprise marketplace," he added.
"Samsung believes the addition of the i600 to the list of JP Mobile-approved devices will continue to drive the momentum of i600 sales into the enterprise," said Peter Skarzynski, senior vice president of Samsung's wireless terminals division. "Combining SureWave with the i600 fits in with our strategy to ensure the availability of enterprise-grade solutions around our Windows Mobile product line."
"Over the past year, enterprise customers have increasingly demanded open platforms and full flexibility to support the complete range of devices currently in the marketplace. They are telling us 'we must support smart phones like the Samsung i600, but our employees have highly personal preferences about handheld units, so we need to support all devices,'" JP Mobile's Rao added. "Today's reality is this: it's not enough to just facilitate wireless email and PIM. Enterprises require secure mobile synchronization with corporate applications and this solution was developed with that in mind. The Samsung i600 along with SureWave Enterprise Server provides this flexibility."
The mobility infrastructure provided by SureWave uses standard Java Enterprise Edition (J2EE) technology and is SyncML-based. Sitting behind the corporate firewall, user data is completely secure at all times and is never exposed to an outside party. In addition, SureWave provides IT management with secure Web-based access for administration, allowing the primary administrator to reduce administrative effort by adding multiple secondary administrative accounts so help desk personnel can access SureWave as well as add, delete or monitor users. Hardware and software inventory also is provided to assist with asset tracking.

wavxmaster,
I heard the other day that there is talks about changing the system so that all trades are 100% computerised. The same as extended hours.
Larry Dudash,
Please come back & let us know when we get out of the 3.71 - 3.78 box. That kink of expertise is badly needed around here
wavxmaster, the volume in the first 1/2 hour today (130,000+)
would have been considered a big volume day pre July 31
If there is to be any news before the SHM I believe it will be wavexpress related based on all the news released in the days leading up to the previous 2 SHMs' being wavexpress related
Zeev hed, Unclevername wrote "At 39.99 support needs to be virtually non-existent." that is where I got the 39.99 # from.
Regardless with the revenues each chip will generate on average I still believe 1 minute of tech support on average will not break the bank
p.s. 1,000,000 minutes per month = 22.83105 wave employees working round the clock (43800 minutes in an average month)
