crush: This issue has been discussed earlier. There are 3 ways that a company can value a patent: 1) if the patent was purchased, the price paid would be the value; 2) if the company developed the patent, the legal fees + directly attributable cost of R&D + Patent office fees would be the value of the patent; 3) then there is the Income Approach = "the appraiser generally employs the Royalty Savings formulation or method. This method measures what level of royalties an owner of a patent saves by having ownership versus licensing of the patent from a third party. The appraiser will then determine the excess rate of return related to these patents, which they will apply to the Company's expected revenues that benefit from the patent. The appraiser then discounts the after-tax royalties to present value using a rate of return that reflects the risk of an investment in the patent."
IMO, #3 can only be done after a number of quarters of verified (audited) revenues. The quarters which MYEC will have in its audited history when the audit is released will have relatively small revenues compared can be expected in the near future, so it would probably be wise to wait for a while to have the patent appraised. IMO and GLTA

TOB: sorry that I forgot about the restricted part. I think you meant to post "can't be sold until March 2015". Thanks for the correction and detailed background info.
scgmck1: my bad. Thanks for reminding me.
Where are all of the shares coming from that are being sold?
CHM 760 and other newbies: I am providing a bit of recent CTIX history which may explain the source of at least some of the shares that are being sold. A few months ago it was disclosed that one of the principal owners of CTIX (its chief scientific officer) had to award a large number of his shares to another person as a result of a lawsuit. This lawsuit had to do with the patent development of Kevetrin. The person who won the award probably used a lawyer who was either working on "contingency" or postponed a hefty portion of the legal fees until settlement of the case. The winner of the case would obviously like to part with as few shares as possible to pay the legal fees, so I think he has been judiciously selling blocks
in a way that has allowed the price to rise moderately (as compared to "skyrocket"). IMO
Why would anybody order an NP-1 from the Nanotech Store for $299 when they can buy one from Staples for $225.99?

Hate to keep harping on this, but to me this is a major screwup by our highly paid so-called industry experts. I will not add another share until this misspricing fiasco is fixed. GLTA
Ignore for you, frank.
Ebuilder: a very interesting point you bring up. If OM can extend all the way down into the throat and even the "gut" how would Brilacidin affect the "good" bacteria in the stomach and intestine that our bodies depend on to digest our food? I understand that many of these bacteria can be replaced by eating yogurt and taking "probiotic" supplements. It appears that going thru such treatment would involve a series of purges and restorations which might be something to consider as part of a B-OM trial.IMO
CallMe: thanks for the post. I am astonished that someone was publishing mice data in 2013 when another arm of the NIH had very valid human data starting from the 1990s thru the 2000s. The NIH is a HUGE organization. The study I was in showed Metformin was approximately 50% as effective in preventing the onset of Type II diabetes as Lifestyle change. Participants in my study that converted to Type II were advised to request Metformin from their personal physicians. The endocrinologists who ran the study I was on would probably agree with the article you linked, but their focus was preventing or at least delaying the onset of diabetes rather than treating it. My dad died shortly after I joined the study in 1996, and I never got to ask him whether his doctor perscribed Metformin for him. Thanks for your fact based and informative posts concerning CTIX. You are a much better DD guy than I am, and appreciate your input. GLTA
people are usually willing to pay more to relieve suffering than they are to prevent it.
familyman: Truer words were never spoken. I have been in the National Institute of Health's (NIH) "Diabetes Prevention Study" for the last 18 years. I was fortunate to be randomized into the "Lifestyle" group which took no drugs, but had to lose a min of 7% of body weight and exercise a minimum of 150 minutes a week. There is also a "Placebo" group and a group taking the drug Metformin, and another which started on the drug Troglitazone which had to stop after about 6 months due to several deaths from liver failure. After 5 years the original study was halted because of the outstanding results of the "Lifestyle" group compared to Metformin. The last 13 years have been "Follow On Study" which tracks how well the Lifestyle people are doing without intensive coaching from the program personnel that we had during the 1st 5 years. Unfortunately, the news is not that good. More than half of the 2000 people in the Lifestyle group appear to have gained most of the lost weight back and are doing minimal exercising (walking, etc) if any, and many of those have converted from pre-diabetic to Type II Diabetic stage. I have been able to maintain my goal weight and keep exercising because of the movie that runs through my head showing how terrible the last 3 years of my dad's life were as a Type II diabetic. He thought that taking insulin injections would solve all of his problems. What a lie that turned out to be. I haven't eaten a Pizza or burger in 18 years (along with Oreo cookies, peanut butter, etc), but to me that is a small price to pay for Prevention insurance that I do not repeat my father's mistake. I am heartened to see that about 25% of the local Study group that I am in do take what they learned from the Study seriously. Even if only 25% of possible B-OM patients are attracted to the "preventative" aspects of B, that would be great.

there are 2 orders of 100k each that have been placed (for NP-1 I assume)
u4ever: Would you please post a link or source for this informaion?
It is the kind of news that I have been waiting for. Thanks.
Mexico: why shouldn't STAPLES be out of NP-1 stock? They are only charging $225.99 when Amazon and the NanoStore are charging $299.00!
Is one group going to pay $19.95 a month for UltraFlix, and another get for $11.99?!?! I hope this bunch of so called "industry experts" gets its act together. GLTA
D.B.: strange to me how NTEK told us all about the first order of 60K units of NP-1s from FOXCONN, but not a peep since. If NTEK expects to have Staples, Best Buy, Amazon, and others loaded with stock for Black Friday, I think the order with FOXCONN would have to have been placed weeks ago. Guess that NTEK does not think such an item is worth PR'ing any more. Time will tell. GLTA
MEX: thanks for the quick reply. Seems to me somebody at Nanotech's marketing Dept. is asleep at the wheel when the company website is WAY out of sync with what is happening out in the world. And how about all the loyal stockholders who paid $299? Of course, NTEK will make it up to them thru the price appreciation of the stock.
Lets hope. GLTA
Mex10: What's the deal with the $225.99 price on the NP-1 at Staples?(website) I thought the price was $299.00 - that is what it is on the NANOTECH Store, and what I believe all the pre-orders paid. So NTEK is only going to make $25 profit on each NP sold at Staples? Something is NOT coordinated very well here. IMO
muddhole: thanks for recording and posting this data. Could someone please explain to me why between Dec. 27,2013 thru June 25, 2014 the Free Trading share count as gone up from 451,913,xxx to 542,793,xxx shares when NTEK was supposed to buying back $500,000 worth of shares each quarter? ($1,000,000 total) Since the average price per share between Jan 1,2014 thru June 30,2014 was about 8.5 cents, NTEK could have bought back about 11,760,000 shares. Since the Free Trading number has not decreased does this mean that the "Buyback" shares were used to pay employees? The OTC Mkts Quarterly report for Period ending March 31,2014 makes no mention of the buyback activity. Thanks.
kelt: great to see you posting again (you haven't said a peep since 08/09). Hope all is going well with your health issues, and that CTIX's advance has put more sunshine in your days. GLTA
Pipi: thanks for the link to UPenn article mentioning CTIX. Did the author make an error when he stated "Brilacidin..has just completed its Phase 2b trial"? I thought that the Brilacidin trial had just completed its recruitment of patients for the 2b trial, and there are still weeks left to go to administer the drug, wait for results, and then analyze the data. Still, I glad we're talking weeks rather than months. GLTA
Thai: I would never call, but looked up Giac's web site and BBB rating. Privately owned. Is there a way to get info on in private companies such as number of employees, past gross sales etc? Web site looked professional. Hope they will feed MYEC with a volume of business.
target: why are you posting these "dream" events as though they were facts instead of what they actually are = MYEC fantasies of what might happen in your mind. I'm going to "mark" your post and observe what actually happens on those dates (and following weeks) to see how your crystal ball does. Hope your right, but kinda doubt it.
TOB: let me add my appreciation as well. Your list of positive positive points about CTIX in such a compact space really refreshed my memory about why I got into this stock and have been adding when possible. Hope the B news will be good as a first stepping stone in the advance of this stock. GLTA
RealR: thanks for the post and relaying your past experience with NetFlix. My question is: will the human eye be able to perceive the benefits of Ultra HD when viewed on a tiny screen? I do not own a smart phone, but I have sat next to other people watching movies on their smart phones while riding the MUNI streetcars in San Francisco. The pictures already look amazingly sharp. It seems to me that the big screen is the place where UltraFlix with shine.
Wow those numbers are mindblowing.
Sarsor: Those numbers are also wrong. The 1% applies to checks up to $500 in face value. For checks in the thousands of $ and higher, the processing fee would still be $5. MYEC should still do multi-millions in revenues, but people who think we're going to collect 1% of trillions are just deluding themselves. Looks like Herr Reichsminister of Propaganda Joseph Goebbels was right when he said, "Tell a lie often enough, and pretty soon it becomes the TRUTH!!"
expect several more immunotherapy combinations
dia: I assume that the future combination trials would be funded by the parties producing the other half of each combination, and PPHM's share would be to provide Bavi only. Is that hoping for too much, or have similar arrangements been done in the past? Othewise, more dilution.
Amatuer: The pros in the "market" seem to overwhemingly believe in the Feuerstein-Ratain rule which essentially states that no company with and under $300 million market cap has EVER successfully passed a Phase III trial for an oncology drug. Hopefully, a sucess with B and/or P will get CTIX's Market Cap above $300MM before K even starts its PIII. Thankfully, CITX is too small to have attracted Adam Feuerstein's attention yet, and he is not actively bashing our little company in his blog yet (as far as I know). Please do not interpret this post as bashing by me.

keltoi; So happy to see you posting again. Was fearing for the worst during your recent silence. Glad you'll be able to participate in the CTIX party.
usandy: another MYEK poster repeating the ridiculous 44 TRILLION $ number that has become a fixture on this board. Do you realize that number is a 44 with 12 zeros after it? For processing checks?!? According to the latest info I could find, the Federal Reserve records show there were 30.5 BILLION checks processed in the U.S. in 2006 and the number has been declining each year since then due to greater credit card use and direct payments of bills via auto pay. Say the number is still 30 billion checks. Divide 44 trillion $ by 30 billion checks and you get $1,466 per check. Lets get real here. I am long MYEC and believe Ed has a great business model, but do not think that throwing fantasy numbers around on this board is a help to new investors/readers.

Next highest is Spain
Bio: doesn't surprise me at all that Spain might be the leading source of patients for Sunrise. My wife and I visited Barcelona about 10 years ago and (as Americans) were shocked to see the number of people smoking inside restaurants!! Young/old/whatever. Amazing that smoking was apparently so popular then.
Hope that Spaniards have seen the light since then.
byrdi: there is no DTC issue with MYEC. Scottrade is the only broker that seems to have a problem with MYEC. In my account at Interactive Brokers, MYEC could not be purchased until last week, but now it can.
Many other large brokers also seem to have come on board last week as well according to others posting on this board. GLTU
Dr. Jerry: Congratulations on your "10 bagger" with Mankind. Astonishing to me that (according to your profile page) you've never posted once on that board. Must've taken a lot of will power. Or did you use another alias? Let's hope CTIX will do as well as Mankind from here.
Lately, I have been getting a pop up box showing up on my laptop screen ONLY WHEN I AM ON IHUB. It reads as below:
"Stop running script? A script on this page is causing your browser to run slowly. your browser may become unresponsive." There are 2 smaller boxes under the main box labeled "YES" and "NO". I always click the "YES" box. (in an attempt to stop the script) This AM it took about 10 minutes for my laptop to wake up. It is a 2 month old ASUS and I have been running McAfee on it regularly.
I have a premium subscription to IHub, and now that I think of it, I don't think I saw this problem until I started using "read the next 10" feature. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Txoil: I assume from Protect8z's happy response to your post that VX is a customer/licensee of MYEC. Is that correct? Thanks.
Bristol immunotherapy prolongs survival in melanoma trial
6/25/2014
(Reuters) - A late stage trial testing Bristol-Myers Squibb Co's cancer immunotherapy nivolumab in advanced melanoma patients was halted early after it was determined that the drug was likely to prolong survival, the company said on Tuesday.
The 418-patient Phase III study, called CheckMate -066, was testing nivolumab as an initial, or first line, therapy for patients with advanced melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer.
An interim analysis performed by an independent data monitoring committee found evidence of superior overall survival in patients receiving nivolumab compared with those who received the chemotherapy dacarbazine, Bristol said. The committee stopped the study early to allow the dacarbazine patients to switch to the Bristol drug.
Nivolumab belongs to a new class of medicines called PD-1 inhibitors that have generated great excitement for their ability to help the immune system recognize and attack cancer.
Analysts have forecast multibillion-dollar sales for the drugs being developed by several companies once they gain regulatory approval.
"The outcome of CheckMate -066 ... represents the first well-controlled, randomized Phase III trial of an investigational PD-1 checkpoint inhibitor to demonstrate an overall survival benefit," Michael Giordano, Bristol's head of oncology development, said in a statement.
Independent monitors routinely analyze data from blinded trials at various points and can stop a study if a safety problem arises or if the study drug is seen as likely to prove clearly superior to the control medicine.
Fortunegirl: thanks for the reply. Actually I did send Jeff Reed, the CEO of Kma* an e-mail begging him to stop answering private e-mails of investors. He never replied to me. I did get stuck with about 20,000 shares of Kma* in the gray sheets which took me a long time to sell. I do not want to risk a repeat of such luck with MYEC so I will not send a private message to Mr. Starrs. The thing I do not understand is that Mr. Starrs has hired an IR person, but still wastes his time trying to satisfy anxious crybaby shareholders. What does the IR guy do all day?
The thing that really impressed me lately was the hiring of the pros that Mr. Starrs got to help him run MYEC. I am sure he expects each of those people to earn their keep. The IR guy must be wondering where he fits in if all this Facebook/Twitter stuff keeps going on.
Ed is giving us the chance to get in before the biggest PR
Marc301: you said it in plain English and don't even realize the importance of those words!!! CEOs are NOT supposed to give important information to one group of investors before others. The SEC comes down very hard when they do. I got out of KMAg because that CEO was answering private e-mails from IHubbers, some of whom where foolish enough to copy and paste screen shots of the contents into their posts. The SEC has never disclosed why KMAg was suspended, but it still sits in the grey market. I hope Ed gets off of Face Book permanently and lets his IR guy do all the contacts with investors - as it should be. Good luck to you.
M8: good one! Nice to be able to have a laugh on a MYEC down (till now at least) day. GLTA
Edit: after reading other later posts which responded to yours, it appears that many folks here are taking you seriously. I assumed you were being facetious. As they say, it takes all kinds to "make a market".
3 days to clear along with hefty transfer fees
Long Hold:
I have stated the below 2 other times on this board and no one has ever said I was wrong or explained why I was never charged "massive fees" when I used ACH or received checks written by my tenants when I was an apartment landlord. Over the course of 20 years I received thousands of rent checks. Not once was the amount deposited to my bank account less than the amount due for the rent and written on the check. I have used ACH about 30 times in the last 3 years to move funds to my stock accounts a Options Xpress, Fidelity, and Interactive Brokers. There was never a penny deducted from the value of my bank withdrawl or the value of the amount deposited into my brokerage account. I was under the impression that the bank made its money by holding my funds for 3 or 4 days and collecting interest on that money. I fully understand that credit card purchases are a different animal and sellers do pay fees to credit card companies. I am long a bunch of this stock, but I really have to laugh when people here toss around ideas like "getting our share of a 44 TRILLION dollar market". Well, just think, li'll ole me used to do about $3.3 million dollars of that market every year and never paid a penny to banks for my checking transactions. So who did? Have any of you readers had to? If you have, better get another bank.
tmg: On Thursday morning I placed an order to buy a block of shares of MYEC in my Interactive Brokers (I.B.) account, and for the first time it went through. I.B. is very PINK unfriendly, which is why I also have an account at Fidelity where most of my MYEC shares are held. That I.B. is now accepting buy orders for MYEC is proof enough to me that the company is in good standing with DTC.
InDaZone: Interactive Brokers also will not allow purchases of MYEC.
Fortunately, I also have an account with Options Express.
"a million is one millionth of a billion."
tootall: wiki.answers.com/Q/A_billion_is_equal_to_how_many_million? Cached
In the 'short scale' a billion is 1000 million. The short scale is the system officially used in the USA, the UK and most English-speaking countries.
You'll really have to get those "illions" down pat for the times
after CITX goes "to da moon". GLTA
So a million is one millionth of a trillion.
Sarsoor: my thoughts exactly, except you beat me to it with your post.
Nate Wigle obviously knows the business much better than most of us, and if he can see a future in MYEC, that is good news. GLTA
