I don't see anything now to stop this stock from moving bigtime over the next month. I don't see anything now that can stop it. Its obvious Rida news will be good and the fact that PONA enrolled six months ahead of time means the word is obviously out there on this drug which bodes very well for its future.
I hope your kidding and if your not kidding I suggest you forget about the stock market. They missed earnings because they had to take a non cash charge against their outstanding warrants only because the stock has gone up considerably in the last year. By the way, since when do earnings matter in a development stage biotech.
Its now up in the after market where it should be.
shortsellers will always try particularly with no volume to make something look bad and scare people. Don't let anybody scare you. This was very good news and it will shortly show in the stock.
It will end up substantially plus tomw. That by anybodies standards was very good news.
If the market doesn't get any weaker from here ( -126 points on the Dow ) ARIA could have a big afternoon.
How about that an IND has been filed on the new compound ( 115 ).
Your right. It should be interesting.
your so right.
Thats big, very good news. It takes any doubt ( if there are any ) about the results MRK is presenting at ASCO on RIDA.
One more thing on LGND. They have a drug called Promacta for a form of heart disease. Its in partnership with GSK and has already been approved and is on the market. GSK is doing a phase 3 study of Promacta in Hep C. Preliminary results have been very good. LGND gets approx. a 10% royalty on the drug and some large brokers have opined that if the Hep C results are good its a billion dollar drug. GSK will be reporting results before the end of this year so I anticipate that as we get close to the announcement LGND will get very active.
I like LGND. Although its been moving lately I think it has a way to go. I have a large position in it ( not nearly as large as ARIA ). Its basically at breakeven now and has a lot of shots on goal to make some real money.
By the way, just for the future a big key is when a buyer keeps replacing his bid after being hit and not moving down or conversely a seller keeps replacing his offer. On occasion on a thin stock ( almost always a Biotech ) sometimes I will show 100 shares for sale when I might want to sell 100,000 shares because on a thin biotech you don't want to scare anybody. The big challenge for any of us is discerning the big buyer or the big seller. When I saw this Buyer come in at around 8.02 tody I actually thought the stock might be up on the day based on what I saw. I considered telling the board that but I decided I might look like too much of a wiseguy.
I can very often see when a large bid is bid under the market. Level 2 gives you a string of bids and offerrs and their size. Of course very often buyers and sellers hide what their true size is but by following the trading and getting the sense of who wants it more ( buyers or sellers ) you can make a pretty educated quess. I've been doing this for a while and I do pretty large size so I had better know what I'm talking about.
This is not my first rodeo. I think at this point I can pretty well tell whats real and whats not.
on my screen ( level 2 ) it sure looks like there is a new substantial buyer in the stock
a new large buyer has entered the ARIA picture.
On Friday I said in a post that ARIA would hit a new high this week. Well, I'm still alive in my prediction. We'll see.
There is a Buyer who keeps replacing his bids when they get hit. A sure sign of someone who means business.
Large Buyer in ARIA right now
I'm also very pleased with the way ARIA is trading. It looks to me like a stock that is ready to explode to the upside once the market gains some traction. Virtually nothing is going to move up in a market thats down 200 points.
sounds perfectly reasonable to me.
Believe me I've been playing this game longer than you. I know exactly what your talking about but through years of doing this ( pretty successfully I might add ) I have found that relying on charts to tell you where your going is an exercise in futility. You might as well flip a coin. I'm basing my opinion on watching the action of the stock and the bids and offers ( I have level 2 ) and having a pretty good sense of where the dynamics are at any moment.I am far from infallible but over the years I've done extremely well from just watching the trading at any given moment and developing a sense from that of where that stock is headed.
Wrong. Its not going to get that low. If the market regains its footing and basically stays neutral ARIA will soon hit new highs.
Based on the trading and the trading pattern of the last couple of days I think ARIA hits a new yearly high this week.
me too.
It means that MRK is even more likely to push trials of RIDA in other cancer indications.
FDA panel just approved Everolimus for Pancreatic cancer patients. Thats first and foremost good news for Pancreatic cancer patients.
Its also potentially good news for Ridaforalimus and MRK and ARIA.
The possibilities of a major short squeeze have gone up substantially.
Short position is now 11,379,000 up about 1.5 million shares. WOW.
good point
No need to be scared. DNDN was a 5 billion dollar company before they had a dollars worth of sales.
We're a Billion dollar company at this moment. Thats the first entry into an elite Biotech club.
amid all the predictions I love it that there is a sense of humour here.
Shorts will panic if ARIA breaks 7.32.
We can have that discussion when the stock is 10. At these levels its hardly priced for perfection.
If they were going to raise money at these levels they would have done so by now. They have had ample opportunity. I'm sure they will raise money at some point but I suspect it will be when the stock is at considerably higher prices.
Does this mean we'll never hear about filling gaps again.
This move in some ways almost forces MRK to make a move on the company. The rest of this year will be very interesting.
It is now beyond " acting better then the rest of the market ". Something might be going on.
