I also am not presuming incompetence, I am just commenting as you say that "SEVU must solve its production problems expeditiously". Again, living in MFG as I do everyday I think their long lead time issue has to do more with component supply (my biggest nightmare) then with assembly. Assembly houses are a plenty in the South.
Thanks
I have seen some of the products and I do MFG for a living. The underwater cameras or Secureview don't have 50% of the complexity the products we make and we make them quicker, IMO. We also have more FAA type requirements and still don't take 10 to 12 weeks to ship, this includes cutting metal.
I would look at it this way, if the 9 million is true "back order" as in behind schedule shipments that is a bad thing. If the 9 million is "Open Order Aging" as in future I am much happier.
Backorder may be the wrong term.
IMO
I don't beleive 2 million in sales in a week has anything to do with mass production.
Lead time is way to long for a IMO simple assembly.
I get the impression that most of us think robotic mass production is somewhat easy. FYI, IMO robots are not a shelf item, all of them will hav eot be programmed, tested, timed, ran and the process will start again and again until they can produce a quality product. For some processes it takes months for a line ot be built.
I am with dk, at the very least they should be producing product by hand ASAP, many companies do it it and do it will. I can purchase and assemble aircraft quality assemblies quicker with more components!
The government is now requiring contractors to track "on Time" delivery so I submit that McBride has been made painfully aware of that fact. If your "rating" is not good the contractor is dropped and cannot be purchased from for a period of time and/or they charge a fee for each late delivery. If this is the case he is very smart to fill those orders first, IMO.
Sanity, finally some sanity.............
Have been reading many days now and only shaking my head. Thanks Dk!
Hey Bulldop01, take a chill....
We are having some fun, this is what most people do when you are not in control of things. AMEX will come but in the mean time........
After 2000, count it!
A good/conservative business plan would have in it time to have Production issues. Production delays are a part of manufacturing, especially with a new product.
Touche'
Optimistic is correct!!!
A million units next year?
That means they would have sales of $500,000,000? Up from what $23,000,000 this year! Do you really think in your (FG) wildest dreams they will sell 2700 units a day every day of the year in 2001, plus make them at 8 unit a minute, every minute with no interuptions. Could we please have a prediction base on some past history or even a lsting of the sales projections from the places like JC Penney and the military potential. They only made waht 3700 units last month. Isn't it more realistic to figure on 250,000 next year and be light by a couple of thousand?
I could not agree more....
Cannot afford pom poms and look really bad in a short skirt.
Hey let's look at the facts, new company, visionary CEO, great new product and guess what, they don't do everything right, what established company does? However, that does not lessen the potential. Most companies in this position expect to LOSE money for the first 5 years, not have sales sky rocket compared to a previous period. I would of course be happier if SEVU were to be conservative in their projections and then beat them by 25% but that too has a dark side. When AMEX is a reality the big money investors will look for consistancy and predicablity, say what you are going to do and do what you say.
Thank you
I think the real investors dk76 is referring to are the "Institutional" investors, not the individual traders. When SEVU hits AMEX big money people are going to be moving the stock price as they discover SEVU's strenghtens and weaknesses. That is why we at this point need to understand what they are to the best of our ablility. I want SEVU stock after it joins AMEX to be bought by a large mutual fund manager!!!
In reading the PR's that have been out SEVU is going after a lot of military and government sales. Plus they are targeting large retail outlets, that being the case I think you "FG" needs to report sales in a column so we can see what the future holds and revenue in a 2nd column so we can see what is going out the door. If the customer base is truly what I have described then I am sorry sales in quarter 3 does not the same amout of revenue in quarter 4. The customer base will be long term po's, probably for 1 or 2 years worth of shipments
We just have to remember that the Bashers are getting smarter so we must always be on our guard.
As for the "complications" a purchase order of this size and with a government agency usually has some very interesting clauses, and most of the clauses are not shown until you have the paper. At that point negociation is not an option. I think SEVU is just working through the "opportunities" provided with non US goverment contract.
Missed the post also but could not agree with you more.
I would like to thank all of you for the entertaining reading, I agree with Snike, come on folks!!!!!!!!
This was probably answered on earlier PR's but is Logis-Tech public or private?
Great!!
I was just worried about the "copy" areas of the world like Brazil, China and Japan.
Thanks
Does anybody know if they are applying for international patents? If so which countries?
As you have requested:
I was not on RB
I am long on SEVU
Been reading the PR's but just found the board
Alittle more information, I have a long history with rising star company so I have lived the life. Now with mcuh slower company, still star but not going vertical. Sorry if my comments sounded negative but in my world we look at contracts on a yearly basis not $$ for the life of the contract. As to your #1 point I don't know what to expect. #2 pricing is usally fixed for the life that is why they make them for many years. #3 you are correct, except for Boeing, they just design you out. And I think we do have competition, it is more expensive and is not as easy to set up but it is still competition (security systems).
Just was trying to speak my mind.
I live in the government contract/LTA world so let's explore the facts or at least what we don't know.
1. Government contracts are usually long term so more then likely the sales are not in one year, more like 5 years. Sales goals are only met when product leave the building.
2. Since we cannot see the PO or Contract the public relations guys just like marketing guys will put the best spin on the dollars. There will be contigencies on delivery, price increases and so forth.
3. Last point contracts are nice but governments have a way of canceling them anytime they want to. Same with large companies like Boeing.
Have a good day!
