There have been so many posts speculating about the relationship between Rosen and our judge - she's on the take, cat and mouse, she's setting him up for a fall, she's being played by Rosen, yada, yada, yada. I believe their relationship is simply one of a federal judge who has heard many cases in her court involving WGM and Rosen.
They know each other well, and while I'm disappointed that she sometimes let's that familiarity seep into her comments from the bench, I do not believe for a second that her personal relationship (+ or -) with Rosen, has had or will have one any impact on her decision. Rosen, much to our frustration, takes advantage of that relationship, but that's also what any good advocate will do in court - and never forget, Rosen is a great advocate.
We may not always agree with her interpretation of the law or her rulings, but it is what it is - nothing more. IMO
Touche! Here I thought I was educating and in turn learned something new. The description and function appears to be the same idea, although we don't find a lot of snakes and critters on the race track. My knowledge base is strictly from the thoroughbred racing side, so thanks for the update Lawrence. I stand corrected.
However, I still stand by my "irregardless" comment. It's like fingernails on a chalk board when I hear it ... And don't get me started on the inappropriate uses of there, their, and they're on the board ;)
BR is not the head of WGM, so why would you expect the head of S&G to be there every time? Our representation is fine in court. I'm also not so sure that the win today was all that important. The ruling regarding the ethical wall in our favor was huge. The others would have been nice to have. Wait until the EC objection is filed before passing judgement on today's events. By Friday, all of this will have been fogotten and we'll be drolling over that filing.

"as for SS maybe they can name a wing after him @ UT law school after the conclusion of this case.."
Already done. They named a part of the Law School the Stephen D. Susman Academic Center following his $5 million gift to the school in 2010.
Classic! Thanks also to knick, Uz , and Fixe for the comedy at the end of a wild day. I haven't sold a share in 2+ years and to watch the newbies and daytraders make fools of themselves, while mildly entertaining, still gets a bit exasperating. Nice to read posts from long time, solid contributors.
Didn't you leave yesterday??? (post #287729)
Frankfurt has rebounded and is only off 3% at this point. Huge volume.
BR billed 379 hours??!!!!! That's 12.6 billable hours every single day in the month - not just weekdays, every day!! Who are they trying to kid. I hope the judge throws this back in their face.
Here's another great post from marymbobh on the Y board. Hopefully JMW had the same thoughts going through her mind when she saw this response from the debtors.

Fantastic effort, Boarddork! However, if I may offer one teeny tiny critique. The reference to "cwrap train" in the conclusion lessens the overall effort somewhat. Up until then, it was professional in tone, well documented, and just about perfect. Those of us on this board understand the fire and passion that that little term conveys. I only hope that the use of an ihub insider phrase won't dampen it's impact. On the other hand, she may get a chuckle from it, so what do I know?
Ilenes, was Susman there? ;)
Don't worry about it, it's already over. Nothing of any substance
Thank you, Catz! Once again, your base of knowledge is invaluable.
This may be a silly question, but what is FJR and the meaning of it for us? I checked the acronym list in the ibox and didn't see it listed. I believe it has something to do with how the hedgehogs holdings may be valued, but I'm unclear on the real significance to us and the overall impact on equity. TIA

Y Board discussion of motion. I especially like Marymbobh comment near the bottom of the thread.

Just missed with 153,144, but it still felt GOOD!
I can't remember the context, but there was the instance when BR was paraphrasing what the judge would say and he slipped in "Brian, ..." The judge immediately corrected it to "Mr. Rosen" and there was some laughter, but to me, that familiarity slip by BR was pretty disconcerting.
A 360 would be fine - right back where we want to be. It's the 180s that have been frustrating. Sorry Leb, couldn't resist :)
Great post from marymbobh on the Y board

Darrell Issa is my rep as well, and I agree that he's not afraid to take on anyone. I will also call his office on Monday. Couldn't hurt.
This all makes perfect sense. However, the fact that no objections were filed prior to the deadline has me concerned. What is BR up to this time???
Down to .076
Love the passion, but highly inappropriate imho
Thanks. I should know better than to trust Yahoo
Yahoo still says 4:00
Full day
Thank you! eom
Sad, but true. BTW, did you properly dispose of the old flag, and if you fly the flag 24/7, is it illuminated at night? Just a reminder of proper etiquette for our flag.
pps getting hammered Down to .1735
Thanks Dude
Great recap. We heard that Weil, Quinn, and the Creditors attorneys were mad or looking a bit greensick. However, there hasn't been any metion of the reaction (or look) of the JPM & FDIC teams. That may give us a better clue of whether or not this is on it's way to a quick settlement of more of a conflict issue.
"served with a nice Ceante' and some ferber beans" Ferber beans??? I think you meant fava beans and a nice chianti :) Got the drift though
Nice to see a distant relative offering something for the board to chew on. My last name is also Cadwallader. Our branch of the family added the second L to help with pronounciation - didn't help ...
I haven't read all of the recent posts yet, but so far, no one has really discussed Rosen's demeanor today. It just seemed that during the course of the hearing he was really off his game. Lots of fumbling of papers, searching for items, etc. Also, there were many "apologies" to the court. I believe Ilenes mentioned that Susman was present (don't think he spoke, though), and I suspect that was a bit discomfoting for BR. Regardless, he must be aware that he is losing control, and is beginning to show some chinks in the armor. imo
Could be interesting as I assume this decision is at 8:30 PDT, which is 1 hour into the hearing in THJMW's courtroom.
Hello, anybody out there? Weird that there hasn't been a post for over two hours. It was a long, good week, so glad to see that everyone is taking some time away to rest up for next week! GLTA!
Technically not after hours (to my knowledge, pinks can't trade AH). Lots of trades just before the close finally recording. According to my program $0.1839 is the final number for the day.
6:00 in San Diego. Time to shut it down for the weekend. The only question is Talisker, Lagavulin, or Cragganmore? Saving the Bowmore 25 for settlement day! A good weekend to all. Can't wait to see what Susman has in store for the punk next week.
The dates for the depositions are in mid-July. By then, we should either have an Examiner or a settlement, which renders these moot. I agree - just a scare tactic, and a dumb one at that, since this should seriously tick off THJMW.
