Sanswire Discusses STS-111 Uses for Disaster Relief on Discovery Channel Special Devoted to Haiti Earthquake
Says STS-111 Airship Could Provide Vital Communications Link When Natural Disasters Disable a Region's Infrastructure
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, Jan 14, 2010 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Sanswire Corp.'s (OTCBB: SNSR) STS-111 lighter-than-air UAV was featured yesterday on a special edition of Discovery Channel Canada's science news program "Daily Planet." On the program, which focused on the Haiti earthquake, it was noted that Sanswire's STS-111 Stratellite airship could offer vital backup communications support when a region is struck by a natural disaster and loses access to its Internet and cell phone networks.
Following a report from program hosts Jay Ingram and Ziya Tong on how the Haiti disaster compromised the country's frail lines of communication, Sanswire's Jonathan Leinwand explained to Ms. Tong how the STS-111 could play a helpful role in such disasters for emergency responders. He noted that the STS-111 could serve as a floating satellite facility after being deployed from a ship or a FEMA trailer. Capable of hovering above a stricken region at a height of 5,000 to 10,000 feet, it can carry a payload that could operate as a relay for cell and satellite phones and provide Internet access for all military, United Nations and Red Cross personnel within a 20-mile radius.
"The STS-111 can provide an instant backup communications infrastructure," Mr. Leinwand remarked. "In situations such as that which we are now witnessing in Haiti, when traditional lines of communication are down and even satellite phone towers have been hit, the STS-111 offers by far the fastest and cheapest method of restoring communications to emergency personnel."
Sanswire CEO David Christian stated, "Our hearts go out to the people of Haiti. It is unfortunate events such as this that shows me how much we need to deploy our airship technology."
The "Daily Planet" program, which aired at 7pm and 11pm on Discovery Channel Canada, can be viewed on the Discovery Channel website.

TXHG from what I know is working on the survey now, but because they are at the bottom of their trading range and obviously there are no signs of overselling I think its a good in price for a token position....
snsr reminds me of a little deal i used to own, frpt, wich traded flat at 17 cents for like two years, when they closed a DOD contract the stock hit as high as 25-30 bucks, too bad I wasn't foreseeing that i would have at least bought 250k shares....
Well they sure did act quicker with this issue than they have in the past.
your right, heroes do just go for it. But sometimes going for it might just bite you even tho you are attempting to do something good.
Not sure when they changed their number or moved their office
How does a web design and development company have anything to do with sanswire or their fb page? True we did build Justmg.com but that is all we did. Seems to me you think this is one huge conspiracy...LOL
Yea I "Just found" their fb pages because hmmm lets see...o yea...they just made them less than a week ago....so yea...i just found them. Would i have been able to find them months ago? No. So you should read better.
Its more like i just Stumbled upon Ihub and decided to join this community and make a statement that they have a fb page that was recently created...but i guess that is not something that someone does when they have spent time and money on a company.
GS,
No sanswire or anyone with sanswire did not pay me nor will they since they only connection to sanswire is the stock i own in the company.
cygnus_1, You should never assume that about someone just because they "show up out of the blue". Just shows your ignorance.
To anyone else who has an issue with me being a new member.....i dont care..
I am not being paid by sanswire or anyone that has anything to do with them. I own stock so i did a ton of research and found the fb page, along with another stock i own. Is it that strange that a company would use social media to gain a larger following???
heh, the last time it did that much volume was Thursday, May 21, 2009 lol. and the stock was at .13....hmmmm big things coming?
Yea, because i work at Red Tie Media....a web design and development company. NOT a marketing company like JustMG, and yes we did build their website along with many others like theirs that has not been placed in our portfolio.
But you not had made a point besides stating what is clearly there.
What is your point?
those are the 2 stocks im following currently. I noticed that no one has said anything about them so i decided to let others know they had them that were curious about their stock/company
Thanks Pagan for telling me what TA stands for.
Mide,
The JFK "speak" that you are talking about is the same as it is on the sanswire website... Could be that the people from sanswire botched his words. Also i do not know who typed in the info.
GS,
The reason they set up a FB fan page was to allow them the chance to share things with the investors or potential investors. The fan page does not allow them to spam msgs to you like a group page. This is just another way for them to reach more people and see ideas or thoughts of the ones who are putting money into the company.
Feel free to not be a fan but as someone who has invested time and money into the company i feel there is nothing for me to hide since i am not sitting in my moms basement attempting to hide from the world.
Now if you have something to hide and do not want others to know who you are just shows that you do not think highly of this company and it confuses me why you are even posting in here.
To everyone else,
The company is just trying to open a new line of communication to allow others the chance to watch this company grow. That's just my opinion but so far i do not see any spam or a way where my "privacy" is at risk since facebook allows all users to set their privacy and allowing them to not show anything to anyone who is not a friend.
I'm just curious why anyone would think your privacy is at risk. Once you go online its almost game over anyway for your privacy because if someone wants to know something out about someone they can find out.
