RenRen: I agree, but I was wondering if a IPO like YOKU or RenRen does not add potentially negative sediment into the space. YOKU shot up, but as a youtube knockoff has it added value that is sustainable? I guess I was wondering does a company with great management - like QPSA- really gain from being compared to ANY social media IPO? I would think it gains more from being in a sector that is long term strong, rather than one that appears speculative. So to me how RenRen is handled and how good a company it turns out to be is going to matter, not just how high it goes on day one.
it is amazing though that QPSA remains the only pure play, and certainly one I am excited about.

RenRen - anyone wondering why it's listing at a US exchange? the multiples in HK and SSE are way higher, though the process is quicker in the US. Not to be counter, but some recent China IPO's on US exchanges have looked more like cash-outs than real businesses. Just wondering if it can cut both ways, or is this a comp positive for QPSA no matter how its done by Renren?
thanks - kurt
disc: I'm a small holder of QPSA looking to move to a larger position.
CHBU thanks Rames, crazy if that service can do this in a day,low float or not. I guessed a buyout maybe.
CHBU all out @ 2.95 wheeee!!
trader your call of US Dollar/DX-Y.NYB rising above 78.40 as a neg signal certainly turned out to be true, above 79 now. thanks for that it helped me out. CCME is one of my only holds now, how I miss those 20's!

Trader - first red day in a while, general thoughts on if this is the turn? Was out and missed the downturn and 'Sykes fight night' all in one day! some great reading..LOL
Down 10% pm - news on the call? can't catch it myself.
based on current extra hours drop or?
Bloomberg Radio - old story FMCN & AMCN are the 'media' calls from Tien Ho - Orega USA Group. (might have the analyst name wrong) No mention of CCME. Earlier interview talked about Yuan appreciation as a play.
He asked some questions that were basically, "Doing business in China its mysterious! Are these reports accurate? How can we be comfortable?" answer "avoid SPEC and Reverse Merger" kinda old hat.
amazing no mention of CCME on this of all days.

Glen - did you get the sense no shares were bought back? or that the "none as of sept 30th" was just a dodge?
GRRF would TSTC or ZSTN been on the loosing side of the "34 bidding companies" for any of this work? just trying to figure out where the overlaps might be if anyone knows.
jay_lim pls just go..
15 post of SELL!!SELL on the SAIF board -with no DD- is basically your whole post history since Oct 8th. give us a break, this isn't yahoo! if your paid for this someone is overspending. if not I refer to the previously mentioned prescription.
CNTF - apparently Alfred Little is a fan. (recent SA/BORN author)

OT LIVE flash today, "What is scariest is that HFT has now gone microcap: with Apple, Amazon, BofA and Netflix bled dry, it is about time the robotic scalping crew found new pastures."
just curious here, is high frequency trading (HFT) really in our space?

NEWN - the article didn't really make a concrete link between AAPL and NEWN. Just because they have an aftermarket charger product for in demand iphone and ipads does not make them unique, especially in China. I like the company, just see this has a high competition space, unless there is some IP in it.
Damn, I hope Glen got out of this a while ago.
from August.
"DJSPW, just trying to calculate how many warrants are available out there for me to buy. "
I lost a pretty penny on this one, but suddenly I feel grateful to be out in the 5's.
like a 8-9% stop? seems tight for CCME but it certainly worked out for you. I have struggled to find a stop sweet spot on this one, after missing part of the run from $8, I decided to take them off.
CCME access to Data Explorers info, anyone have this?
don't know if this is useful but it "provides daily stock lending data as a good proxy for short interest levels."
the home page lets you pop in a ticker, but alas CCME does not come up. RINO and CHBT do though for the curious. I am sure the paid product is more detailed.

ENHD catalyst? beyond Bradford and this board, if they do have a quiet history does anyone have thoughts on what besides value and current market sends them back up?
DJSP the sell off on this news seems to have started yesterday. got out a few days ago, was like waking up from a bad dream.
Q&A board question about gift sub's
is there a way I can find out who was kind enough to pass one on to me? or how it applies to my account which is quarterly?
thanks

that's all great, and not what I was talking about. if you don't think it sends up a flag when a company buys a biz created by the leader of the group that locked up its own float then that's ok, but it does to some people. remember, I own the stock myself. But I get now that most folks here feel very protective, and are not interested in any discussion that questions the mindset that lives here. that's fine.
happy selling to everyone in the time ahead.
sure you can buy them later with the MM's
I understand when everyone is swimming in the same direction any question may seem strange, but I don't think what I am talking about is such an odd topic. lack of diversity of opinion is never a good sign in investing, group think has its limits.
EIGH own's the den?
I don't see too much reaction to this here, and a bit surprised. so EIGH did some broadcasting coverage of a seminar, now the 'new site' is a EIGH venture for profit one can assume they rightly paid Mr. Monk for, and large EIGH shareholders have made the case for a dividend. perhaps 1 time? what does all this add up to?
I hold the stock, I have been a small part of the FLD for a year along with CDIV, and have no problem with someone like Monk getting paid, that's what people are here for. But I do find strange the lack of transparency, and quite intimate relationship between the person who led the charge to lock up the float and the company itself.
The FLD relies on many people to happen, but while reading and following this board (if not posting actively) I feel quite 'out of the loop' on what is happening. (yes on the email list) That to me does not feel right. it feels backdoor.
The run up is great, and I will hope for the best for my position along with everyone else who has waited so long. I hold no ill will at all towards those making decisions. But the fact that these things (like EIGH buying out the website) are happening to me means that others are looking to benefit from what was created organically by individuals. Its not a fact or accusation, its a feeling, and after I am out of EIGH I am going to honor it.
best of luck
kurt
NEP nibble @ $3.75 a lucky stink bid for once. finally a nice morning!

gaping- thanks for sharing now I feel like my dumb move at least has good company. I sold my trading .57's at .98 only to by back at 1.10 and go back to holding. - I like the idea of trading shares, I just don't seem to know how to sell them.
curious if folks think the run up looks sustainable and a new floor is going to be set.
some chart guru have a thought?
-kurt
CHBT add @10.37 eom.
CCME yea I didn't realize they had so much pricing power compared to FMCN. lots of room to move. though I was surprised how much more time on the new airport line is worth. wonder how the margins differ.
PUDA time frame for re-entry?
curious as to opinions on how long the offering shakeout will take and others guesses on either when or what pps might be time to think about buying back, as I would like to do. I rode out the last offering, this time I am happily on the sidelines for now, and trying to learn entry points.
dual listing. why is this not an easier path than a dividend? Taking Rames post as well, this seems like a more realistic solution. to ask the obvious, what is the real barrier to that for a company like CCME?
CHBT earnings spreadsheet at wefe's blog worth checking out, just went up today. kind of amazing breakdown by every detail. to big to post here.

CHBU volume concerns about liquidity? the numbers are great/amazing but its a 6 mil market cap company with some very low volume days. I'm no trader but does this concern you? (ie SGZH in sleep mode )
thoughts welcome and thanks for bringing it attention
kurt
thanks Weave, appreciate you sharing your experience. there are so many examples of people loosing everything day trading, I guess it's hard to understand how I could learn to do it successfully in a few days. but I certainly like the idea!
-kurt
radio not for the newbies like me, wish more time had been given to monk to talk about what happens in a seminar. I am not a daytrader, probably not looking to be one right now, and $1000 is a lot of green, esp when you don't know what to expect. I think Monk did as well as allowed but wish I could have heard a bit more.
are the seminars mostly about day trading ETF's ?
I am holding some CDIV other Floats, but a bit late to that party for me.
If you can remember what it was like before a seminar, that is kind of where I am.
info welcome! thanks
CHBT- its Geo that is short CHBT. I was questioning Maj. they just had it as a Geo Special, and now disclosure says they are short. I was planning on buying today, but waiting for it to calm down.
"Short CHBT at time of this post"
Maj, I have this right? CHBT was "Added to the GeoBargain list on July 14, 2009 @ $9.70" and as of now you are short CHBT?
DJSP added @ $8.20
not thrilled about my 11.30's now, but happy to add at this price to fill position.
CHME added @ 3.11 the sticky over at the CHME board about LT outlook is great, written when it was 3.30
appreciate the discussion here.
