Any insight into what could be driving the higher than normal volume today and the sudden drop earlier this afternoon? On the surface, I don't see where today is much different than any other day with no new developments.
Just an FYI, I had sent an email to Kristen last Friday asking the following:
"Do you or anyone in our organization regularly review or even input on the Investors Hub online forum for Bioelectronics? There have been some contributors to that forum over the year + that I have watched it that are basically of zero worth (even malicious), but I would say that the vast majority of the contributors currently are knowledgeable, long term investors that share very valuable insights and support. You may find it of value to keep up on the postings on this sight, if for nothing else than to see what type of questions, concerns, hopes, etc. are on the mind of some of your more significant investors. I applaud your new plan to update investors every other week, and this could also give you some insight into those "hot topics" that are on the mind of key investors."
She responded today with "At this current time, the employees at BioElectronics do not follow the investor message boards. Occasionally we will review them when we have investors call in with questions regarding a comment that was posted. We are currently working on several ways to stay in contact with investors and I truly appreciate the suggestion. At our next meeting I will bring up your suggestion. The bi-weekly updates, IR e-mail address, and letter from the president are all efforts towards keeping investors informed. In addition, we are working on an updated Facebook page, which will allow for more open communication with investors."
I also was very pleased with the prompt and open response to my question. Thought this might be of interest to some of you.
There probably were other readers here that had that same misconception, so it was valuable that you pointed this out and got it clarified today. We all are somewhat "on edge" waiting for any substantial breakthrough news with BIEL, so don't feel bad!
Good morning Savannah. You hit on one of the most commonly misunderstood words there is..... "biweekly". In most cases, biweekly means "every other week", but many people interpret that word as meaning "twice per week". When I first saw BIEL's announcement that they were beginning biweekly updates, I was afraid this would happen.
It's very possible that they did actually mean twice weekly updates, but I would bet that they are intending them to be every other week, and that would mean we should expect our next update next Thursday.
I could be mistaken, but if the end of the quarter is this week (end of September), wouldn't it be more realistic to expect the quarterly results to be made public in early to mid November?
The obvious answer is..... Thursday's not over yet. I'm sure we were all hoping that the update would be out first thing this morning and were somewhat disappointed not to see anything yet. Guess we just have to be patient (not a strength of mine!).
Thanks Adrian for sending this comprehensive list of questions to Andrew W. and for posting the response for all of us to share. Good insight into several open issues.
It sure does make you wonder! Someone had stated in a post several weeks ago that a company is required to notify the public within a short time period in the event of actual FDA approval. Does anyone know if there are similar requirements to notify to the public of FDA response on progress on the de nova process? If not, that could explain Andy's recent comments regarding his high confidence level for FDA approval very soon. I know there are several of you that are very knowledgable on the FDA approval process so any insight would be great to hear.
At the risk of stating the obvious; things sure have been quiet lately! In my opinion, this is a much better situation now that our only source of information is directly from BIEL, rather than the often "fluffy" updates from Joe Noel site. It does seem like we are overdue for some kind of substantial news though regarding the de novo applications and any new plans for OTC upgrade. Does anyone have other legitimate sources of information that are of value? If not, I guess we just continue to wait patiently, realizing this is a long term development process.
I agree! I was hoping for good news today for some reason. Maybe it goes back to the old "coming on Tuesday" prophesy that was the running joke a few months back!
Great story add2it. Thanks for sharing! My daughter has also experienced significant improvements with an actipatch that she has used to reduce pain in her hips caused by years of gynmastics wear and tear. I've shared this story on this board several months back so I won't go into detail again, other than to say that we are both firm believers in this product as a result. Only down side is that her battery finally died so we have to purchase a replacement now (small price to pay for pain relief, but it would be nice not to have to throw out the unit when the battery dies!). As with you, I will continue to hold long on BIEL.
I agree. They are not only working hard to expand the breadth of their product offerings, but also the depth by offering a range from $10 low cost disposable up through a 10X power more expensive product that is intended to be insurance reimburseable. In my opinion, BIEL is certainly laying out a comprehensive business strategy and market expansion plan. Now it's a matter of being able to execute the strategy and marketing the product effectively. It should be exciting to watch this play out over the next several months! I continue to hold long term.
I've written two emails to Andrew over the last couple of weeks but have not received any response (I tried to send it through the BIEL website contact address, and this may not be the most effective way to get to Andy directly). If you talk with him, please share any insight that you receive. Thanks and good luck!
My hope is that Andy/BIEL will now more actively communicate with shareholders and the public regarding status of important activities (FDA approval, OTC uplist, etc.), company performance, company strategies, etc. In the absence of information in the past, we have had to turn to Joe N. for any tidbits, and this has often led to confusion and disappointments. If BIEL steps-up their sharing of information, I agree that we will be better served in the long run.
Thank you all for your responses. There probably is no one simple answer to this, but I appreciate everyone's good perspective.
Does anyone know of a logical reason for this day-after-day, substantial drop in price, with relatively heavy volume? I am at a loss to understand what is driving this pervasive downward pressure. I do realize that several important milestones have not been achieved and many are losing patience, but there really hasn't been any substantially "bad" news that would push the price sharply lower. I admit I am naive to the inner workings of the market and I would love the hear anyone's educated perspective on this. Thanks.
Not major news in my opinion, but positive PR out this morning:
BioElectronics Corporation Expands DRTV in UK and Canada
8:30 AM ET - Market Wire
08/06/10 -- BioElectronics Corporation, developers of innovative pain-relieving medical devices, announces today an expansion in their Direct Response Television efforts to United Kingdom and Canada. As part of its brand-building initiative, BioElectronics' brand managers are assuming direct control of the DRTV and advertising in Canada and UK.
You may very well be right, but I would expect some kind of PR from BIEL since made the following release on July 27th.....
BioElectronics and YesDTC Holdings Receive Japanese Regulatory Review DateFREDERICK, Md., July 27 BioElectronics Corp., manufacturers of innovative pain relieving medical devices, today announced its distribution partner for Japan, YesDTC Holdings, Inc. has received notification from its legal staff of the pending review ...
I do feel there are a lot of very interested investors that regularly monitor this board (I certainly do!), there just is not a great deal to discuss recently. We're anticipating news/updates on OTC upgrade, 2nd quarter financials, FDA approval, sales forecasts from new markets, introduction of new/improved products that have been promised, etc. All very promising developments for long term growth of the company and the PPS, but not much to discuss until they materialize.
Thanks so much for your feedback Ghost. I'm heavily invested in this stock and have been accumulating for several months to average down, and it has definitely been a learning process! To me, your expectations and gut feelings make a lot of sense. One of my biggest concerns is with the number of outstanding shares (approx. 1.5B) and the potential for additional dilution (the risk of which is hard for me to gauge). I agree that the factors and timings you discussed will be pivotal to the PPS in the upcoming months.
I appreciate your on-going inputs to this forum, as well as those of several other knowledgable investors. Thanks again.
Ghost - Would you be willing to elaborate on what you feel the indicators are for this? I'm not as well-versed as many of you on what some of the market indicators are for a period of accumulation and potential break through a resistance point, and I would really appreciate your feedback on this. Thanks!
My take on the reasons behind the decline today is 1) some amount of sell-off with the gains this week, and 2) the lack of any official announcement of the upgrade to OTC from pinksheets that was "unofficially" announced yesterday. Do others agree? I do wish that they hadn't jumped the gun on that uplist yesterday. Thanks.
Should we expect another strong uptick in PPS when the news of the successful move from Pinksheets to OTC is officially released/announced (as referenced in Joe Noel's update this morning)?
Can you provide a link that confirms this statement? We are all anticipating the uplist off of pink sheets and hope it will happen over the next several days, but I have not seen any releases to date. Thanks.
Thanks ghost. I appreciate your insight on this. I certainly understand this is simply your opinion, but your opinions have proven to be pretty accurate as of late!
Good steady increase in PPS today, with relatively good volume. Has anyone caught wind of upcoming news that we have been anticipating, or are investors just recognizing a good value when they see one?
Schwab does as well.
I could very well be mistaken or reading your post incorrectly, but isn't the A/S and O/S at 1.5B and 1.47B respectively? This is an excerpt from the most recently released quarterly financials:
Common stock, par value $0.001 per share, 1,500,000,000 shares authorized at March 31, 2010 and December 31, 2009 and 1,471,998,871 and 1,470,998,871 shares issued and outstanding at March 31, 2010 and December 31, 2009, respectively 1,471,999 1,470,999
Again, I apologize if I'm just misinterpreting, but I want to make sure that I understand the current share structure. Thanks.
FYI, release just came out regarding an interview with Andy Whalen that will be available for viewing Thursday evening:

Update on Joe Noel's website:
BioElectronics Corp. (BIEL) – Unclear currently relative to the exact status of the 211C for that is being prepared by one of the broker-dealers for filing with FINRA (OCTBB market regulator). Also pending are the new 501K applications that CEO, Andy Whelan, discusses in the recent video interviews. We will check on the status and get an update out as soon as possible. Whelan has indicated movement to OTCBB will happen very soon.
General question: Would an update to the proposed move to OTCBB be the next anticipated PR from BIEL? I've lost track of the expected timeframe for this but I had thought it was projected to take place relatively soon. I know it's anyone's guess, but would you expect positive PPS movement as a result? I'm in this for the long haul as many of you are, but it would certainly be nice to see some improvement in stock price soon! Thanks.
Very well said BigTrader. This stock has certainly tested my patience for the last several months as it creeps down in price. It's frustrating to have a large percentage of my available funds tied up in this stock while I watch other past and possible investments increase significantly in value, but I continue to believe in the long term potential for BIEL and that, with continued patience, all of us long term investors will be rewarded over time. I for one appreciate the inputs that you and many others regularly make to this forum, and that we have a shared enthusiasm in this company's future.
There's no call for being so unprofessional Izzy. No one on this board needs to waste their time on reading that, and we all deserve to be treated with respect.
Gosh, I guess you put me in my place. I did appreciate Ghost42's comments just now on the need to be open to anyone's inputs, good or bad. As he suggested, I will try to be more understanding of opinions like yours. It's seldom worth responding to your type of posts, but it's tough to resist sometimes!
I'm a novice, but I take this lack of movement/swings in PPS as a relatively positive indicator. It seemed in recent months that "No news = Bad news" relative to the PPS (that the stock would creep ever-lower in the absence of any expected or actual news). I'm encouraged by the pervasive sense of optimism from investors in BIEL for the upcoming weeks and months and glad to see that the stock doesn't slide as we wait. Any thoughts on this? Thanks.
This was based on an article on Joe Noel's site (joenoelstocks.com). I'd encourage you to read through it for the details. He had said that we can expect this news soon, but I didn't see any specific date listed for the release.
As I had posted a few weeks ago, my 19 year old daughter suffers from arthritis pain in hips due to years of gymnastics wear and tear. I had bought an actipatch for her to try because I was anxious to get some first hand experience (second hand actually) with the product, even though I didn't have high hopes that it would help her with her specific pains. In the past she had tried prescription medicines that offered little releif and had bad side affects.
The results were way beyond our expectations. Within a couple of days, she had significant reductions in pain and quickly got to the point where she feels more comfortable than she had in years. She had gone a couple weeks without using the patch and the pain was coming back, and she called me last night and said that within 4 hours of putting the patch on, she had dramatic improvements again. From this experience I am a firm believer in BIEL, and will continue to hold and increase my stake long term.
For what it's worth, I agree also. These last few weeks have been painful to watch for all investors I'm sure, and we each have a choice on how we deal with it; whether to dump our shares for what little we can get, hold, or buy more while the price is low. I'll be the first to admit I can't begin to grasp all of the market forces at play here, but I for one chose to try to be patient and hold on for better days while buying additional shares along the way. Stocks in this price range are very risky, but I will continue to remain confident in the long term prospects. Just my two cents worth (no pun intended!), and I do wish us all better fortunes ahead.
You didn't hurt my feelings in the least. I just don't see much of value in what you contribute, but I have to remember that this kind of message board is designed to allow a wide range of opinions to be expressed, and your opinion is every bit as worthwhile as anyone elses. So please contribute as much as you like, and it is up to each reader to decide what is valuable and what isn't.
Just a guess, but I bet I can speak for many contributors to this message board when I ask that you please try to keep your sage wisdom to yourself soy........ You're of course welcome to contribute all you want, but I for one will not be reading any more of your posts.
