Yep......more reasons too, like inexperienced cheap labor, and that would be my guess in this situation,,,,Seen it before and it didn't end well.....Just give em that saw and nail gun, sheet rock will cover it, lol
lol, Obviously a 2 step process, usually used by housing corporations, framing then an outside trim crew comes in which includes sheeting the exterior...
What caused the collapse was wind, why did it fall, people took out too many of the temporary braces, especially at the corners....
3 ways of doing it,,,,cut in wind bracing while framing (diagonal 1x4s at each corner inlaid into the studs, not frickn beams) tried and true method......metal wind bracing which hopefully is outlawed by now, thin strips of metal diagonally nailed to the studs, worthless basicly.........And plywood or osb on each corner usually done by the outside trim crew when the 2 crews are separated........Most northern houses are completely sheeted in osb.......
Someone knocked out too temporary braces, especially at the corners....All too many housing companies skimp, leaving the framing crew with little material to finish up with......leave the corner braces in no matter what.....
People don't understand that siding, sheetrock and osb is what holds a house together......
Best method (note the temporary corner bracing is still intact, they will be removed after sheeting is done)
..
As a note, many northern framers sheet the outside walls while they build them, then stand them up, tough to raise with the extra weight and the wall is squared before sheeting, not leveled after it raised without osb.........Leveling is best, just leave the damn braces in till its sheeted as shown in the image....
Populism is rising world wide, there is a reason for it,,,,And its not just a one line gotchas or partisan politics
Populism: Root Causes, Power Grabbing and Counter Strategy
https://www.intereconomics.eu/contents/year/2020/number/1/article/populism-root-causes-power-grabbing-and-counter-strategy.html
The media ;)
Dems lack of allowing different opinions to be precise,,, they have a really bad habit of that, which only is an extra mark against them looking at the political landscape....
We all know what the current democrats definition of populism is......nationalism, bigotry, isolationism and the like, but that's a needed definition when you fail understanding the economic one.....Then as I pointed out, you have someone like trump to take advantage of the situation as has happened throughout history....
I don't think that disagreeing with you is divisive as you have said before, but I think labeling 1/2 the country with those terms are when economic reasons are at the core........
that being back to Gilded Age level inequality sucks...
Well then we do agree and always have, just disagree that it effects out political atmosphere and the way people feel about DC, the dems that sold the working class out, that it has crept into the middle class, that they hold the elites and corps that prosper and politicians that allow it responsible........
Guess you would have really hate the piece I posted that populist are highly democratically oriented and patriotic......And since you call me a conservative, i think this thread is challenged by partisanship rather than ideology......But that is your right to do so as is mine to disagree with you....
Back to
I think you should reread my post, the bottom applied maybe more than anything at the moment
Over looked hypothesis........ maybe for a reason? But I see similarities or one leading to the other....
Do you think the inequity we see today, highest since the guided age, would result in
They care deeply about whether each individual’s economic outcomes occur for fair reasons. Thus citizens turn to populism when they do not get the economic opportunities and outcomes they think they fairly deserve
So back to the elites and government which allow Inequity and a lack of economic out comes....
Will cherry pick from wiki
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Populism
"Populism precisely is taking into account the people's opinion. Have people the right, in a democracy, to hold an opinion? If that is the case, then yes, I am a populist."
Dems could learn a thing or two about differing opinions and how they handle it...Perhaps another reason for the rise of populism....Anyhoot, good over looked hypothesis, thanks for the link...And hope you read last nights that I posted
5 takeaways from Devon Archer's testimony on Joe and Hunter Biden: 'There was no business conversation'
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2023/08/05/devon-archer-transcript-testimony-takeaways/70528889007/
Shows how partisans just never learn the facts on either side....Blame the media, one side leaves this or that out, one side hammers this or that........
Maybe you have never even heard of Devon Archer.....Google searches are easy......
Hunter did what? Sold the Illusion of Influence,,,,
Plains and simple....Dad was even on the phone some 20 time and a couple dinners.....(no business discussed mind you)
As to the tax evasion, yep...Kinda like what Michele Cohan was sent to prison for only some of hunters weren't changed due to statues of limitations.....
All factual, all considered business as usual in DC, no big deal.....All ammunition for the right claiming the doj is biased and let hunter off the hook over all...... So comer is an idiot with his over statements which play well for the right...And even moderate dems shake their finger at the now rehabilitated hunter, but people see the difference in media coverage in the modern day.....Life in the fast lane
Hunter Biden sold ‘illusion of access’ to his father, former business partner tells Congress
https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/hunter-biden-sold-illusion-of-access-to-his-father-former-business-partner-tells-congress
Hunter did, plain and simple and the sweetheart plea deal a judge threw out, sure made the favouritism meter peg for the right......
Only difference is Jarred had a real business he could claim.....Still as crooked as a dogs hind leg, just harder to prove I guess or dems would go after him...
I didn't say I believe trump, just this is how it is and why.........Dems have a way of trying to pigeon hole people, relax
Comer has overstated so much (not so unlike dems) that what's lost is how the dems would have handle a hunter if the shoe was on the other foot......
No doubt it would be 24/7 coverage on CNN for months, with the same insinuations of how high it must go....And hammer the fact he took millions from shady business people, even in communist countries under the guise of selling influence....
Dems have suffered from the same overstating to the point of people saying 'what is it now' and what ever it is, it will end anticlimacticly....
Well, thats another theory on the subject, there as many or more who see it the other way....History itself is a teacher when you look at the rise of revolutions over time....Be it a facist or leftist revolution they all began with inequity as the root cause.........And neither of the 2 when they won turned out well for the people......But not all populist movements end in revolution, dems have even had their own...
Here I think we are at a cross road over inequity that has created dissatisfaction with the government and politicians, how well they are working for the people,,, against the elite who gain more than their fair share because of the government and politicians have let them do it......Dems threw the working class under the bus, they are seen as elitist, corporately run and obviously corrupted by it...(lots more we could add into it in our political situation to)
Hence a Trump like character who is willing to say the system is corrupt, he is willing to snitch on the elite, claims no allegiance to a political party per se, drain the swamp in government as he puts it, cut through the red tape of bureaucracy..........(however when the situation is ripe for populism, people have taken advantage it)
So I say, populism doesn't stand much of a chance when its smooth sailing for the vast majority......
And the debate at Oxford was more to is populism a part of democracy or anti so.....The rebuttal claimed its a part of ...
Thanks for the piece, here is another on populist moments and the people involved....
Populist Democrats? Unpacking the Relationship Between Populist and Democratic Attitudes at the Citizen Level
https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/00323217231173800
I disagree,,,,Populism is a result of inequity....Always has been and is true again today....That debate with Pelosi was pretty good....
Elites v Deplorables
I will throw you a bone though....Look up your dog killer....All but one of the tribal territories are barring her from their land.....
Not that the border isn't funding cartels and that corruption, and of course the drugs, aren't flowing across...But it takes a special kind of person to piss off all the tribes in her state.......
All of congress is screwed up,,,,Imho,,,,,Its better for them to do nothing and keep the status quo....On to say wedge issues are best kept, not solved or even advanced,,,,,keep the ammo and hit the other side over the head with........
Well, Ill give ya credit where credit is due,,,you are pretty good at guessing on that.......
Now the GOP is your scapegoat,,,,,,, But only the blind faithful see that as the whole story......"Not one inch"
Tell me: is there ANYTHING you think the Dems have done well in the past 10 years? I'm guessing there's isn't
Few and far between...Better than nothing at all though......
US and NATO mismanaged Ukraine from the get go......Perhaps the Afghan withdraw only a month prior made the west hesitant...... The west was more than willing to just let Russia invade until the Ukrainians fought so bravely....Telling Russia 'Don't' had little effect.....
Almost immediately (after failing to back Ukraine with even a no fly zone) the US claimed it would be a long term war....Sound familiar? Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan......Claiming they were scared of Putin and nukes as an excuse....It was only a matter of time before Russia got their Armies together and have the ability to overwhelm the Ukrainians that cannot sustain a long term war...
Make no mistake, Biden not only failed to adhere to the Budapest Agreement but he has slow played Ukraine in every way.......Especially damaging when Ukraine had momentum....
But enter politics and the rebubs, now the dems have a convenient scapegoat.......Europe has the ability to make up for the short comings from American aide......Nope
Who is screwed and who plays politics, and who profits....The west should indeed hang their heads but one has to remember Biden's Warsaw speech,,,Not one inch of NATO land,,,,Poland, was safe indeed.......
"How hard is it to meet in the middle and not be stupid about shit"
Abuse of power is always progressive.....Lol ;)
Assassination Next on the Dem List?,,,,,,,,,Make it the Putin trifecta then.... LOL
See ya tomorrow
Yeah....Im sure he had rivals put in jail too,,,wait, he did, his main rival
So, keeping people off ballots (was a fail in the US)
Looks like putting rivals in prison failed too...
Still say you should have just gone after the big charges.....
Now you can be compared to Putin....
Enjoy your night
And your emulating him.....
Think about what Chelsea said,,,,,,,,Civility counts, its what's supposed to make you better than them
Putin challenger Boris Nadezhdin barred from Russia's election
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-68237791
See how it works, thats what dems make themselves look like and think all leftist movements started with the best of intentions and see how they end up....
Facists and Communists... How many did Mao and Stalin kill
Both are dangerous
Hey, it is what it is,,, once power is abused, people will always continue to get worse...
Look at the leftists throughout history...
;)
Just dems keeping trying to keep people off ballots this election......
Just adds to the threat to democracy narrative the right is hammering away on..And you continue to play right into it...
Sorry about the edit
Guess you have no respect for Chelsea's opinion on the subject eh....?
You dems
Democrats tying to keep folks off ballots....
Democrats step up legal action against RFK Jr. allies — signaling worry over the independent candidate
https://www.politico.com/news/2024/02/09/dnc-rfk-fec-00140719
The Democratic National Committee is going after the push to get Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s name on the ballot in more than a dozen states by alleging his allies’ latest efforts violate federal election law — a sign that Democrats are worried about the presence of the independent candidate in the 2024 race...
The complaint is unlikely to go anywhere — the commission is evenly divided among the two major parties and frequently deadlocks on enforcement questions
You aren't much at setting an example on this are ya.....
You want to lower yourself to the few that didn't respect those other kids,,,,I know the major media did their best to keep kids out of it.....And both Hillary and Michelle were respected for keeping their kids privacy....
Ah, the modern world eh Janice, Integrity isn't what it used to be,,,Everyone has an excuse to, well, act like the children that were once scolded......
Thats none of your business to drag peoples kids into your politics.....
And from that link,,, seems the gop chose the kid not vise versa.....Maybe they should mind their manners too....It is polite to ask....You should talk to the gop in FL they are fair game and respect a kid, same as the press did with Chelsea and Obamas kids.....Called taking the high road
Make it a fair fight, take it up with the gop
Barron Trump, who turned 18 in March, had been selected by the Florida GOP to serve as an at-large delegate at the July convention. Several other Trump family members – including Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump – were also selected as delegates.

Got a link for that? My bet is he wanted nothing to do with it all and Politely said F off....(to dad?)
So he isn't involved, declined the offer.......
So maybe Clinton's daughter has a point
Take it up with Chelsea, The View and The Hill...
When asked on ABC’s “The View” how the press should cover former President Trump’s son after he turned 18 this week, Clinton argued he had an “unimpeachable right to privacy.”

Eh, Who the F is Chelsea Clinton to tell a bunch of progressives private citizens have a right to privacy if they don't involve their self in politics, right, what does she know...
Maybe, just maybe, its a hint to mind your manners and quit lowering yourselves, she was only the daughter of a president.....Race to the bottom

Chelsea Clinton defends Barron Trump’s right to privacy: ‘Leave him alone’
https://thehill.com/blogs/in-the-know/4550583-chelsea-clinton-defends-barron-trump-against-media/amp/
Chelsea Clinton defended Barron Trump on Friday, saying that because he is a private citizen and not involved politically, he should be left alone.
When asked on ABC’s “The View” how the press should cover former President Trump’s son after he turned 18 this week, Clinton argued he had an “unimpeachable right to privacy.”
“Yesterday, Barron Trump turned 18. There was a debate on social media, I saw it on TV, where some people are saying, ‘OK, he’s now an adult, he’s now 18, he’s now fair game. He’s no longer a child.’ He’s largely stayed out of the spotlight. He is not involved, so different from his siblings,” “The View” co-host Ana Navarro said, before asking Clinton, “How do you feel about it?”
Clinton pushed back that the media should “leave him alone.”
“I think he’s a private citizen,” she answered. “I feel so strongly that if you are a private citizen, you have an unimpeachable right to privacy, and I think the media should leave him alone.”
Navarro’s inquiry came after former NBC senior executive Mike Sington sparked the debate in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter. Sington wrote, “Barron Trump turns 18 today. He’s fair game now.”
Sington explained his now-deleted post in a statement to Newsweek, saying “I posted he was ‘fair game’ now, meaning, as an adult, he’s ‘fair game’ for criticism from the press.”
“Someone pointed out to me ‘fair game’ could mean fair game to be harmed,” he said. “I don’t wish physical harm on anyone, so I took it down. I listen to the comments and criticism I receive.”
After Clinton’s reply to Navarro, co-host Joy Behar asked if the same applies to Trump’s other children — Eric Trump, Ivanka Trump and Donald Trump Jr.
Clinton said because the three were “campaign surrogates” at one point for their father — the presumptive GOP nominee for president — it’s a “totally different conversation.”
Shows what you think know compared to what you actually know....
Dems have that way about them.......
Have a good night
