LOL I thought he was talking about food :)
completely agree. I think I'll be grabbing some tasty calls when the s&p gets to the 200ma.
I didn't part take in any of the festivities today. I really didn't think the market would drop that hard. I almost bought the VXX early this morning and spy puts but opted against it. Hindsight is 20/20!
it's just crazy what happened today. Not really sure what to expect going forward. We headed to another recession with the fiscal cliff on the horizon?
For me, I'm staying cash.
This is too risky I don't know if it's going ot find support, not find support or continue it's downward path.
I thought that Obama was going to win and that the market priced in that he was going to win. I thought it would go down maybe 100 points today or so. Never thought this much and couldn't imagine it to keep going.
Right now I'm up 14% on my portfolio for the last month. Not amazing but I don't really want to start giving that back when theres so much uncertainty in the market.
I also don't like to hold ETF's overnight. One would say "Sure play the VXX" but if the market ends up finding support then that's not really the best play. Things can change over night.
I just hate sitting on the side lines lol.
What is your opinion about playing GOLD at this point? Say the ETF GLD?
Even uglier than down 350?
I almost bought VXX calls at the open but opted against it. Oops.
S&P testing 1400
DOW testing 13000
Staying cash, gonna be a close one to see what happens.
Personally, I don't believe the market will sell off sharply like it did last time. The focus is on the fiscal cliff. If we fall off that cliff, that's where the real selling will begin and start another recession.
PM's down about 100 points.
Remember to vote... if you don't, you have zero right to complain about who is elected or re-elected into office!
Yeah the spreads between the bid and ask are still too large to really even want to enter. It's about 10-25% difference between bid/ask depending on the strike
I like it!
I'll be honest, wish there was more action on the GNRC options. I'd be buying puts up the wazoo lol
Great to hear from you too bud!
I missed the time that you guys got together. I recently just came back. As much as I love to trade, I also like to keep the money that I have even more haha. I think this election is very close. I'll be honest, I was back and forth for a long time and after doing my final research last night, I made my decision this morning who to vote for. I think there are a lot of people like me out there.
There are plays that I like, but I just don't know if it's smart to jump in or what.
Figured I would bounce it off of you :)
Hey AD!
Already voted :)
question, how do you think the market will react if obama wins or if romney wins?
Do you think it's smart that I'm stayin all cash on the sidelines until the results come out? Or do you think the impact really won't matter that much to the market?
I'm curious, let's take a vote!
How much of an impact do you think the election will have?
If Obama Wins?
If Romney Wins?
If the results are delayed because it's so close and needs a recount?
Hahaha once in awhile... sure sure :)
Thanks for the heads up!
Hey bud,
Sorry it took so long for me to repost. Here is what I'm watching today:

Right now I'm just holding VXX calls.
Not really sure which way the market is going to sway. I'm currently watching about 30 stocks which I will go through and take a longer look at once I eat some dinner. I'll try to update if I find anything.
Great! Thanks for sharing. Hope you had a great weekend!
Interesting read dent! Do you have the link to this article?
Haha
I grabbed a few VXX calls going into the bell. Just in case.
Sigh :(
I'm all cash right now, how does the weekly spx chart look on your end?
Thanks bud! Looks like I sold at the absolute top of the day... I don't know the last time that I did that was lol

GREAT jobs report just came out!
I grabbed SBUX Nov 17 $47.00 calls before the close tonight. They smashed earnings. Currently trading over $50/sh :)
Sorry about LNKD to those that were in puts. I know a few of you were in there :(
Just taking a quick look at my charts, this is what I'm going to be looking at:
BA

fslr
spy
jnj
kors
shld
wmt
Also reporting today - LVS and SBUX
Nice chart! I like it! You could be absolutely right. Looks like it's holding so far!
Possibly. But I don't know if it's worth the risk or not. Hmmm... I'll scour the charts that I have in a few minutes and see if anythings popping out at me.
Morning all.
Still not seeing a ton that I'm loving right now lol
NFLX just popped like crazy due to Carl Icahn having a 10% stake (he didn't just buy it but was finally reported that he did). Stock went from $70 - $85 in one minute after it was released.
What's everyone looking at right now?
I'm going through all of my charts and nothing is really jumping out at me.
Thanks bud! After the storm last year, I guess they're trying to make sure people are safer than sorry? It's going to be quite the storm for my boss... I was offered the position that I have been working on for the last 4 months...I'm giving my two weeks notice this morning.
Here in Connecticut, waiting for the storm. I'm all cash on the sidelines right now. If we lose power I don't want to be worrying about positions! Stay safe everyone!
HPQ is a good one to get your hands on to learn how they play. I really try not to hold options long kind of a stick and move tactic.
This market is so whacky right now during earnings season. I missed out big time in August, could have made a ton of money there it looks like!
Haha is this just a temporary band-aid? I'm all cash right now in my account, really don't know what to expect going forward to be honest.
I might be looking to grab a bearish position today if the market pops.
