PureSpectrum, Inc. Ready to Fulfill Orders for Three Dimmable CFL Products
15-Watt, 20-Watt and 23-Watt Bare Spiral Designs Are UL Certified and Ready to Be Shipped 06/01 09:31 AM
SAVANNAH, GA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 06/01/09 -- PureSpectrum, Inc. (PSPM:$0.5500,$0.0300,5.77%) will immediately begin fulfilling orders for three dimmable Compact Fluorescent Lamp (CFL) products while continuing to identify additional distribution channels domestically and internationally for the company's energy efficient, consumer friendly products.
It has been estimated that as many as half the bulbs found in residential settings are used for dimming, and lack of reliable dimming capability has been a primary consumer performance complaint that has deterred the universal adoption of the CFL to replace inefficient incandescent bulbs. PureSpectrum is now prepared to fulfill orders from distributors for 15-watt, 20-watt and 23-watt bare spiral CFLs which offer dimming capability comparable to an incandescent.
PureSpectrum president and CEO Lee Vanatta said the company expects to manufacture approximately 15 million bulbs by the end of the year. Having products available will enable the company to begin fulfilling verbal commitments to order that were contingent upon product availability as well as satisfy requests for samples to continue the sales process within multiple markets, including distributors, retail outlets, retrofits and utilities. As part of the company's global marketing strategy, PureSpectrum exhibited at several domestic and international industry trade shows, including LightFair International in May, and the company has received significant interest in its products or verbal commitments to order its products from several channels.
"This is a very exciting time for PureSpectrum because this is the news that our employees, our shareholders and the lighting industry has been waiting to hear because having products available will enable us meet or exceed our established sales and revenue goals," said PureSpectrum president and CEO Lee Vanatta. "The launch of this product line of dimmable CFLs has been received very positively by the marketplace, and we are confident that the PureSpectrum brand is a superior product that will be accepted wholeheartedly by consumers who are demanding increased performance values. We returned from LightFair International with hundreds of sales leads, and we receive requests for product samples on a daily basis from distributors, retail outlets and utilities interested in carrying products bearing the PureSpectrum brand."
Call (912) 961-4980 for more information about PureSpectrum, Inc. or visit www.purespectrumlighting.com to see a short video featuring PureSpectrum's dimming technology compared to commercially available dimmable CFL bulbs. A Safer Way to Transform Skin Cells Into Stem Cells Brings Medical Trials Closer
..Researchers have found a new way to reprogram human skin cells to act like multipurpose stem cells, and say their safe technique produces stem cells that are ready for medical use. If the researchers are right, clinical trials on the induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells, which can turn into virtually any cell type and potentially be used to treat disorders ranging from spinal cord injury to diabetes, could start within two years [Nature News].
Many experts say that reprogrammed skin cells have several advantages over embryonic stem cells, for reasons both societal and medical. Using adult cells dodges the ethical controversy involved in taking cells from embryos, and it also raises the possibility that patients’ own cells could be used in their medical treatment, negating the chance that the cells would be rejected by their bodies. But reprogramming cells is still a scientific frontier, and researchers have struggled to find safe ways to accomplish the feat.
The new study, published in the journal Cell Stem Cell, builds on the breakthrough discovery in 2006 by Shinya Yamanaka, who similarly coaxed human skin cells to revert to a pristine, embryonic state by introducing four key genes into the cells, piggybacked on viruses. However, some of those genes are known to cause cancer, which made Yamanaka’s stem cells — known as induced pluripotent stem cells, or iPS cells — unsuitable for human use [Time]. For the current study, an international team of Korean and American researchers found a way to instead use the proteins produced by the genes to transform skin cells.
Study coauthor Robert Lanza explains that his team used a peptide, a protein fragment, to drag the human proteins into the cells. “These have been around for a long time,” Lanza said. “The AIDS virus uses the peptide to get into the cells it infects,” he said [Reuters]. The researchers said the iPS cells they created generated a range of cells, including neural, muscle and cartilage cells. Their method could be used to produce iPS cells for drug research, disease studies and future medical uses. But they also reported that the method was “very slow and inefficient and requires further optimization” [Worcester Telegram].
Lanza, for one, is eager to put reprogrammed cells to use in medical trials. “After a few more flight tests — in order to assure everything is working properly — it should be ready for commercial use,” Lanza said…. He said the company would seek Food and Drug Administration permission to test the cells in people by next year — a process unlikely to be quick, especially with a brand-new technology such as this one [Reuters].

HHHmmm , uuh On the Website!!!!!!! tssssssst
not dilluted as of yet, NONE of the large shareholders have sold. dubai financing is a C/D, SO You would be wrong about dillution, if this had dillution the PPS would be sub-penny.
Can we Bet too see whom is right? How about a one Month Membership? Put Your MOUTH where your money is>?
2.15 a share 2 WEEKS after the UL/ES certification and Amex listing. All of which will be accomplished prior to July 15th what do you say?
juk
I sent the Writer of said aricle an email with links to Lanza/Harvard University. Kim said "OUR team", he has a JV partnership with ACTC on seveal things, maybe he thinks he owns ACTC?
it is too bad that Bill Gates poured money into Ethanol instead of not into ACTC. Then we would not have Kim from CHA taking credit for others Work. VERY interested to see what the June 5th article mentions ANYTHING about CHA's hand in this?

Anything that Rocky or Locksflooring posts. skip mine! lol.
Now that is a Good article. Next Friday the 5th when Lanza;'s works hits the street so to speak is when the "hype' will begin to build. Having other reknowned Doc's in the field say Wowza is certainly a show of support.
To buy? Wait till you see the buying wave that will come once it is a Reporting Company [again].
to buy in the teens yes. The PPS is going to migrate north of 52 week high in July.
that is exciting. that is a 300k a year job in Mass.
I will get VERY excited when I see a Director of Marketing being hired on Monster!
1-3 Weeks after the UL/ES certification & Amex listing upgrade, the PPS will be over 2.15 a share. easily.
So buy Monday and on July 15th 2009 you will have a four bagger. Hold for an additional 52 weeks after that and sell for 8-12 dollars a share.

********* approval to start human studies in mid- to late 2010 of a treatment for retinal degenerative disease.******
I wonder if she is speaking of RPE IND ? 2nd half of 2009? hhhmmm? Or maybe further Retinal studies? regardless.
Next week IMO is the last week to buy at these share prices. It is a match to a flame, evern with a 500 Million share count, timing is everything, Become reporting again and another Lanza zinger in the works? From the various quotes I have read I have never seen him this Confident, he knows with out a shadow of a doubt this works. June 5th The research was reported online in the journal Cell Stem Cell and is due to be published June 5. Well in addition this would call for a rather indepth Press Release from the Company. big week IMO and for the rest of June.
*******“Not only can you create these stem cells, but they’re your own stem cells, so you don’t have to worry about rejection,” Dr. Lanza said. ****** No REJECTION!!!!!

Dr. Lanza has an incredible past, came from less than nothing, writes in a way in his book that Layman like myself can grasp. What we are doing etc by emailing etc and calling on aCTC behalf is what a Marketing Director is needed for. He is not bad on the eyes etc and well his area of expertise could literally save millions of lives. easily a full show and not just a 5 minute show piece.
Speaking of "Air Time"./ I sent Oprah a whole bunch of information about Dr. Lanza [his incredible story] and all the information I know. Anyone see that show about the Oprah Effect on CNBC? She is like a Money printing press if You get on her show!

plus CTIC had a proxy vote a month or so ago to increase the share structure or do a reverse split or something like that and it show up from a penny to well what it is now...being on the Pinks is another very valid reason why the pps will only move so fast as well?

dave,
it is building. I am wondering if the creditors that own tens of millions and millions of shares might just let this run instead of just selling every day, day in and day. I mean it is all gravey really I guess when a creditor can secure shares at half a penny or a penny. But maximize it. Do not sell for a couple of weeks?
I think we should see .179 - .184 today...?? but glad to see 15 again and will take a 25% increase any day!. just think that the creditors want the money..this really is very big news, many of the Lanza statements are of a "leaking" nature IMO. saying commerical applications in the next two years, filling for an INd next year, we all can read, look between the lines and this is some HUGE information that has been released.

Doctor Lanza invents a process to bye-pass the harmful side effects of mutating skin cells to Stem Cells? Will this be the New bench mark for NIH? How much can a Advanced secure in funding from the NIH for 2010 with Stem Cell process' like this? 50 million? It will take a few days for the massive ramifications of this Kind of Technology to Sink in.... We literally have an unlimited Supply of skin cells, Our Skin cells grow constantly, we have several layers of skins cells in our bodies. This new process would eliviate the headache of needing massive amounts of /Embryo'sStem Cells to create/grow blood, No more embryo's. Plenty and Plenty of Skin Cells to mutate into Stem Cells. The Debate would be finally over for Stem Cells right left middle whatever. Done, No more it works.
{{{{{{Just three years since a Japanese researcher first reprogrammed ordinary skin cells into stem cells without the use of embryos, scientists at a Massachusetts biotech company have repeated the feat, only THIS TIME with a NEW method that creates the FIRST stem cells SAFE enough for HUMAN use. Ladies and Gentlemen,
I have read this article now 20 times over the course of the past several hours. I am very interested to hear what Rocky thinks?
This IMO is earth shattering. ****Until now, NO ONE has been able to create iPS cells WITH OUT USING viruses and genes. But LANZA and his team found a way around BOTH: the researchers ISOLATED the proteins made by the same genes Yamanaka used and "tagged" them with a message that allowed the proteins to slip easily into the cell. Yamanaka's method, on the OTHER hand, RELIED on using VIRUSES to FERRY genes into the skin cell.
Dr. Robert Lanza of Advanced Cell sees almost IMMEDIATE COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS.
"After a few more flight tests -- in order to assure everything is working properly -- it should be ready for commercial use," Lanza said by e-mail.
He said the company would seek Food and Drug Administration permission to test the CELLS IN PEOPLE BY NEXT YEAR. Now this Next sentence is written by the writer. --{{ a process unlikely to be quick, especially with a brand-new technology such as this one}} No Your wrong Alice Park if the Technology is Present it will be fast tracked based upon substantiated research, Yah see Dr. Lanza did not invent taking Skin Cells and making them into Stem Cells, He has a process for doing it Better and safer for Human consumption, that is the Kicker, All great Companys take upon a product etc and make it better. I am going to start to ramble here so I will cut it short. But Know this, This is HUGE with Out a doubt HUGE. If Advanced Traded on the NYSE or Nasdaq and an article was written like this of lets say the Company/STEM the PPS would go up 350% in one day. I would like to see the PPS go to 40 cents tomorrow. But with the Massive dillution? 18 cents for a high tomorrow. I am rejuenivated after reading this article. Looks like the Advanced Pipe Line Just Got a WHOLE lot BIGGER and Revenue rich!
Cheer's to all..{even the bashers]

Your VERY VALID and BY FAR The BEST Point made in the past 3 months on Why I am VERY confident that Advanced Cell's IND for its RPE will be excepted and allowed to move forward. Good job man! The precedent has already been established with Geron. I can also theorize that it is in the best interest of the Stem Cell Sector for Geron to "share" its IND with Advanced to ensure what worked and what did not work in the give and take prior in the approval process? Do you think Geron may have helped/schooled Advanced?
Heah do You know what the time table was from the time Geron submitted its IND until it was ok'd back in Jan 09? I am thinking it may get/secure a faster approval due to the fact of how much of a priority Stem Cell research is too BO?
thanks

Is anyone else of the opinion that Stem Cells can not only heal/manage most of the health ailments in the U.S. but also increase tax revenue by healthy americans working longer and not utilizing SSI and the severe impacts both financial and long term personal effects of an illness on a family and a community.
A Manhattan style Project inregards to Stem Cells and Genetics could literally "fix" so many problems we face as a nation.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- If President Obama has his way, health care reform will be finalized this year. Key Senate and House committees are planning to mark up legislation in June, and the House is aiming to vote on the issue by August.
And while the specifics of how to fix the nation's health care system are far from final, the debate over how to pull it off will turn on a key question: How to pay for it.
The total cost of overhauling health care is estimated at over $1 trillion, and the administration has made it clear that it doesn't want the overhaul to add to the already giant federal budget deficit.
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., one of the leading legislative players on the issue, last week laid out the likely elements in any health reform package. He also identified some of the main options for how to pay for it.
A system overhaul will guarantee coverage for most of the 47 million people currently uninsured, Baucus said at a Kaiser Family Foundation forum. And there's a good chance that a government-funded public health plan option will be added to the mix of plans offered by private insurers, Baucus said.
The final legislation is also expected to lay out requirements for minimum benefits; prohibitions against denying someone coverage due to a pre-existing condition; and guarantees for affordable, quality health care, he said.
House Ways and Means Chairman Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., another key player, echoed what Baucus outlined at a National Coalition on Health Care conference on Wednesday.
In terms of reimbursing doctors and hospitals, the focus for insurers is likely to shift from paying for the volume of services provided to reimbursements based on positive health outcomes.
When it comes to paying for all those changes, it'll be all hands on deck. Consumers, employers, health care providers and others in the industry will be asked to contribute. "We'll pay for it in a balanced way," Baucus said.
But "balanced" may not guarantee bipartisanship support in the House and Senate. In fact, deciding exactly who pays what - and figuring out how much reform costs can be taken care of through greater efficiencies and increased competition - will be among the hardest issues on which to find consensus.
Here are some of the leading ideas that could most directly affect health consumers' wallets:
Tax part of employer contributions to health insurance: Right now, if you get your health insurance at work, any money your employer contributes to pay for premiums is tax-free income to you.
It's the costliest tax benefit the government offers, reducing federal tax revenue by $226 billion last year, according to the Joint Committee on Taxation. And it's a break that many officials, including Obama, say they are reluctant to change.
But tax and health care experts agree it's not only a costly incentive but one that offers the biggest tax break to high-income workers and to employees with the most expensive plans, which include union workers. Plus, they say, divorcing consumers from the true cost of their health care encourages them to buy more care than they might need and that, in turn, contributes to growth in costs.
Baucus has said lawmakers are considering limiting - but not eliminating - the tax-free exclusion in some way.
Limits might be based on the cost of a plan, an employee's income or some combination of the two. Another option would be to convert the exclusion to a tax credit or deduction. Lawmakers are also considering whether to grandfather in existing plans that unions won through collective bargaining agreements.
How much revenue can be raised is entirely dependent on the option chosen. There are no official estimates available from the Congressional Budget Office yet, but the Tax Policy Center estimates that capping the exclusion at the average cost of health insurance in 2009 ($5,370 for individuals; $13,226 for families) and adjusting that cap for inflation every year could raise $848 billion in revenue over 10 years.
Impose Medicare tax on state and local government employees: Currently the wages of some state and municipal employees are not subject to the 2.9% Medicare payroll tax that other workers and their employers pay. Lawmakers may decide to subject all such employees to the tax.
Tax sugary and alcoholic drinks: One option under consideration would standardize and increase the federal tax on alcohol. Another would impose a new federal tax on beverages sweetened with sugar, high-fructose syrup or other ingredients. Diet sodas and other artificially sweetened beverages, however, would not be taxed.
Change or eliminate Flexible Spending Arrangements: Currently, employees get a tax break for money contributed to FSAs. The amount they may contribute is unlimited, although the employer may set a limit. And the money may be used for a host of health-related expenses that insurance doesn't cover, as well as for dependent care expenses.
Lawmakers are considering either limiting how much money may be contributed or getting rid of the accounts entirely.
Modify Health Savings Accounts: Individuals with high-deductible health insurance policies may set up HSAs to which they and their employers may contribute money tax-free. Earnings on those contributions are tax-free, as are withdrawals used for qualified medical expenses.
Lawmakers may opt to limit the amount of money that may be contributed to HSAs or to boost the penalty for making withdrawals for non-medical expenses. They also may require third-party certification that the withdrawals were used for qualified expenses.

Geron Corporation Receives FDA Clearance To Begin First Human Clinical Trial

Geron Corporation announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has granted clearance of the Company's Investigational New Drug (IND) application for the clinical trial of GRNOPC1 in patients with acute spinal cord injury. The clearance enables Geron to move forward with the study of a human embryonic stem (hESC) cell-based therapy in man.

It will affect the treatment of so many eye conditions. It [already] worked with out a shadow of doubt exceedingly well in the industry standard testing in lab rats. The FDA will certainly concur with the results. I am also pleased with the Jv partnership with our South Korean borthers/sisters inregards to streams of income over the next few years. blood from Stem cells, making blood that can be made in a factory so to speak and distributed. Those "use" of licensing is soley in South Korea. China can do whatever it wants in its own Country. but it will never achieve the Brass ring of American Insurance Dollars. It can not use its science whatsoever in the United States unless it adheres to FDA protocol. sometime in the 2nd half of this year, Advanced will present its IND for its RPE to the FDA for approval to Phase 1 Clinical trials in Humans. Only one other biotech so far can say it has achieved this ok to proceed and that is Geron Corp. I think rocky said that Gerons IND was 22 THOUSAND pages long. So look for our IND to be similar. So it is submitted in September 09 it 'may' get approved 6-12 months later? Who knows. but the RPE program worked exceedingly well in industry standard animals as Geron Corps did as well. Approval will come for ADvanced RPE. I am sure of that. But IMO the outstanding stock and long list of creditors is more uncertain on how that works out.
