I punched out of my trading shares today for that very possibility. I may regret my move at this time tomorrow but trading shares are mercenaries to be bought and sold while waiting for anticipated larger troop movements. A larger long term core position will be rewarded even if my timing is wrong ... which won't hurt my feelings. <G>

Thanks for making my point.

Don't worry about Howard. He's just having fun with forum members. When the pop in share price happens he'll proudly chirp that he got in at the lows. If I recall, he used to regale us with tales of how he was a former holder who sold at the highs. He's an amazing timer. <G>
Pat
Too late to buy back in?
Pat
Sold my flipping shares from earlier this month. If it decides to drop into the low 1.20s again, I'll rinse and repeat. If this is the beginning of a run, I have my core position to participate in the ride. Either path is acceptable but I have a preference for the latter. <G>
Good luck to all.
Pat
All "buy recommendations" are welcome ... even better when they're accompanied by a rise in share price!
Pat
"Considering averaging down but can’t find a good reason to"
The only reason that you can't find a good reason to average down is because there is no good reason to average down. <G>
Pat
Picked up some flipping shares today. Looking to pick up 5%. I'll see what happens.
Pat
I'm by no means an expert on research or investing, however, I think your summary actually answers your own question/request very well.
The only reason that I'm visiting this forum is because I believe that new developments in battery technologies and new means of power storage are inevitable in our world. Manganese has been mentioned in a number of articles I've read as perhaps playing a key part of that evolution. I saw this company mentioned somewhere and started looking for additional information to see if they might have a legit role as a potential investment vehicle.
Without meaning offense, I saw this forum and almost immediately wrote it off since I tend to shy away from forums that are dominated by one or two people who cite at best tangential information while suggesting dreams of great riches. This one was a little "over the top" since the sources being touted as DD seemed to be little more than generic articles and interviews that merely offered descriptions of the future industrial needs without the connecting piece of how the stock connects to the players who will likely be the major players who have the needs. For example, is there a relationship with an Elon Musk type who will likely be a major player in the evolution of batteries? If not him, are there other major league players who have a connection with MNXXF? If so, who? And what is the nature of those connections? What makes MNXXF more attractive than other competitors who might be positioned better? Show me a track record. Past performance CAN predict future success.
The most basic requirement of DD is obviously finding info that at least specifically mentions the stock and it's history and track record in the industry. I haven't found that information on this forum. Perhaps the stock will ultimately be the dark horse that surprises me .... but it will truly be a quite a surprise to me if that happens. This is merely a personal opinion. I certainly have no inside information. To the contrary, it is my absolute lack of information that makes me shy away.
I wish good fortune to those who have already placed their bets. It's possible that there could be a little money to be made simply by being in the same niche as entities that satisfy the needs of a potentially growing industry. I just don't see projections of a multi-bagger that are being suggested here. I'll be looking elsewhere unless I find credible information at some point that changes my mind. My opinion would change on a dime if that happens.
Good luck to all who have chosen to participate in the future of the company. I'll be the first to humbly eat my words if I miss out on the potential success of MNXXF. Time for me to move on. Good luck to all.
Pat
In the absence of any PR announcing new contracts we'll probably be range bound between the low 1.20s and 1.30 until perhaps August earnings. If there was more consistent volume it might be a reasonably consistent and profitable flipper within that range while holding a core position.
Pat
You're kinda helping me make my case. This is a classic example of what I have been trying to suggest to you and others who read this forum, Frizbee. Somehow you manage to equate a generic article about minerals, super batteries, or clean energy to MNXXF due diligence. You conclude that an article such as this telegraphs an influx of hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue to MNXXF. There is nothing in this article or the other "DD" that you reference that even remotely suggests such inevitability.
My basketball skills aren't enhanced when I'm in the same room as NBA players. Nor is MNFFX revenue enhanced due to an article discussing the growth of clean energy and super batteries. That's REALLY a stretch to draw that conclusion. There is no cause and effect here.
I'll leave you alone. There's little point in trying to find new ways to get across the same point of what constitutes DD that is specific to MNFFX. An article, interview, or PR from someone directly related to the company should be read but not accepted as gospel. I think it's also reasonable to concede that if an independent article doesn't even mention the name of MNFFX, the article was almost certainly not written with them in mind.
Good luck.
Pat
Could you share just some of your DD that indicates these anticipated contract numbers are real? I've seen posts that you've shared that describe the value of the total manganese market but I've not seen the DD that indicates there's any link between the manganese market and their ability to fill the need. At one point today you were talking about 10 billion dollars that was in their future. You retracted your claim by 90% when asked to cite anything that supported that number. Can you support the reduced number of $100 - $200 million with some DD other than what Mr. Kepman told you was his "goal"? I have a "goal" to be a multi-millionaire but I'd have a hard time getting a bank to loan me a million dollars based on that goal at this point in my life.
You've also posted info on a conference that he will be attending to make a presentation. That same conference material that you posted included instructions on how one can get on that same agenda by submitting a very nominal fee. It was open to anyone. In other words, he wasn't invited. He essentially bought a "ticket" (for less than $100 if I remember correctly) and they're providing a microphone for that "price of admission". Both of us could have presented at the same conference to talk about our companies. I don't have a company but I can't be certain that they would have even checked to verify that.
You posted a link of an interview of the CEO, Mr Kepman. That too was a product made with payment of a nominal fee to have a video company "interview" him and provide a single copy of the video to him for his use. Again, both of us could have a video made by the same company who specialize in making these kinds of videos for a very small price.
I'm just curious what it is that makes you so convinced and excited about their having a place in this battery market. Sure there's a demand for manganese. What makes you believe they're even on anyone's radar who produces these "super batteries"? You seem to be basing it on the "goal" that Mr. Kepman shared with you today. Anticipating receipt of a $100 - $200 million dollar contract from this unnamed battery company is an extraordinarily significant amount of money for a company with such a low profile.
I'm not trying to make light of anyone or any thing. I just see a number of posts from you that offer little more than "Wow, I think this is a terrific enterprise that has a tremendous future with a share price that will appreciate much higher than its current value when the contracts start rolling in."
Is there any of your extensive DD that you can share that provides insight into Kepman's bio, his connection to past or current battery manufacturers, his current customer base, how much manganese they've produced or sold in the past, what type of earnings history they have, the number of employees, or ANY other material that could provide hard facts (rather than opinions) to make an evaluation of the company? I'm just looking for a morsel of info that demonstrate even a modest track record that would warrant someone awarding them a contract worth hundreds of millions of dollars. Surely all of your DD has some info that can make a better case for this company from a fundamental perspective. Can you please share anything a little more substantive with us? Thanks in advance.
Pat
Does your takeaway from this article lead you to conclude that this battery maker will direct millions to MNXXF or is this something that Mr. Kepman cited to you as his basis for providing you with his windfall contract estimate? Don't you think that might be reading things into the article just a bit?
Pat
In due time.
Pat
Even that # is ridiculously inflated given their current financial status IMO. I'm not surprised at his optimism (that's his job!) but I am a little surprised that he would share his estimates via email.
Pat
The size of the market is completely irrelevant to the portion of it that a company captures. Just as you may firmly believe that this company will get an enormous contract, I believe with equal conviction that this company has virtually no chance to reach the numbers that you suggest. Just the same, good luck with your speculation.
Pat
PS I received your PM but don't have the capability to respond via PM.
OK ... poor choice of words on my part. You are merely suggesting that the stock has great potential. Care to address the rest of my questions?
Pat
Can you break down that number for us?
Do you really believe that a small company like MNXXF can go from essentially no revenue to a billion dollars in revenue in a year? You've been urging people to buy now since the launch will be coming "soon". What kind of timeframes are you talking about? Do you suppose they could go to a bank to get a loan approved based on the billion dollar windfall contract you are suggesting? If not, why not? Would they be skeptical? Have your sources told you that this is realistic or are you just kinda making things up? C'mon, be honest. You're stretching credibility here.
Pat
AMYZF is having another nice day today. It's up about 35% in the last two days.
Pat
"A contract for the materials would bring us in Multiple Dollars I beliee 10 to 15 Dollars at lease $10.00 JMHO."
What would the minimum dollar size of the contract need to be to put us at the $10 level?
Pat
Thanks. I get it now. It's a recommendation of a company that makes tiny batteries and the connection is that MNXXF is a company that mines manganese which is one of the materials used in the battery. Any idea who the battery making company is that they're recommending?
Pat
Yes, I'm aware of that but I was just wondering if that snippet that you posted was written by you or was it from another source. TIA
Pat
What was the source of this quote? Was the MNXXF reference actually in the source with the emphasis or was this just an augmentation to an individual opinion?
Pat
Were they actually invited or did they call in like the ad instructs to ask if they could make a presentation? Just curious.
Pat
I'm actually a little surprised that it didn't move up some this morning. The PR was put out last night.
Pat
Agreed. That typically bodes well. Perhaps we'll get a little bump tomorrow morning. Let's hope so.
Pat
"I am very curous as to what the value of the DIV will end up being ....."
I think most know what the value of the dividend will end up being.
Pat
The picture you paint kinda makes me wish the other stocks in my portfolio would have similar gloomy outlooks given the reaction to this PR so far. <G>
Pat
PR just released on completion of the A Sample this morning. There should be some fireworks today.
Pat
Very nice trading and kudos for posting your sale prior to today's action. Many who claim well-timed trades post only after the decline. Well done!
Pat
Sounds good. Let's hope we don't see "the teens" again.
Pat
.... and Pluto is on a collision course with Earth.
Pat
"Still the same medical science as it was at .08 cents."
I'm afraid you're right!
Pat
It's being pretty stubborn about defending that $1.17 mark. If it drops below that with any sort of volume, who knows what will happen. I'd think it would have to be a pretty quick drop to get back to the .80 level since earnings are so close. If they do show a profit, that downward thrust would probably be arrested pretty quickly. We'll have to wait and see.
Pat
EDIT: Oops! There goes $1.17!
I was asking more from a short term perspective. If they make .01 profit for the quarter, would you look for a bump like they recently had that doesn't hold? Or would you anticipate a smaller bump that does hold? I suppose there could be a third option that reflects no reaction to a return to profitability.
This stock confuses me. I like the fundamentals but I can't figure out why we get these occasional 20% - 30% jolts that seem to retreat shortly thereafter. I don't see it as a trading stock for flippers. Got any theories? TIA
Pat
How would you interpret your guesstimate in terms of share price impact?
Pat
The Bears and Rams are playing each other in a football game. The week before the game the Bears lose their starting quarterback and their star running back. As a gambler I was going to put some money on the Bears before the injury report came out. Having seen the news, however, I change my mind about gambling on the Bears this week. Would you follow through on the bet anyway because you liked the Bears before you heard the news? If so, can you see the difference in our philosophy?
There will likely be a day when I might want to "gamble/invest" in SQQQ but the "news" has to get better before that happens.
I'm not being critical. We apparently just aren't in sync with the belief that gambling and investing are synonymous ... and that's fine. That contributes to what makes a market.
Pat
Like I said, we each have our own individual strategies. Good luck.
Pat
Sounds more like gambling than investing but we all have our different strategies. Good luck.
Pat
Last week I was considering adding to my position if it got to the $1.22 - $1.23 level. Now I'm getting a little bit bashful about that. With a 40% drop in less than 2 months I'm wondering where the bottom is. Anyone want to do the opposite of what I wind up doing? There might be some money to be made! <G>
