With good news it will fly past that.
Yes, most likely. Gliches like that can provide unusual opportunities. I like to buy at end of year as to take advantage of excessive year end selling by portfolio managers and tax advantage seekers.
I cannot explain what it was about, but I am mad that I missed the opportunity and that I was not the purchaser at that price. Kudos to whoever it was and "OOPS" to whoever sold.
I have put many estimated timelines on projects I have undertaken. These have been projected as if all goes according to plan. Unfortunately we all know that this not always the case.
Probably most, have extended beyond the preferred ending date. This does NOT mean that the project was NOT successful nor completed. All have been completed, some of which considerably
took longer than estimated, but the most important thing is that all HAVE BEEN ACCOMPLISHED.
Why is .058 stock price bad news? Not to me. If it goes there with the same trading as present and not because of bad news, that will be good news to me as I have been waiting to buy "more" if it goes into the .05s. Adding on manipulated down turns.
Three events, any of which I am waiting anxiously to hear, are:
1. Positve numbers and news from phase one and on to phase two
2. Partnersship or buyout with/by major medical/pharma co.
3. CHANGE IN CEO from a former hedgefund manager to a credible
respectable mind in the medical business field. -- will not
need if #2 is realized, thus giving Rabin his walking papers
and resulting in more credibility on Wall Street.
Can you say "inside information"? Oh sorry, what am I saying. That never occurs, because that would be illegal and insider trading, right? Such is NEVER done on Wall Street.
I agree and have said it numerous times that Rabin, the former HEDGE FUND manager, is a serious negative to the image and respectability of this company. What serious investment firm would take a large position in this "startup" company with NO income, with no FDA approved product and with such a CEO as we
have. Conservatism is the charcteristic of many respectable investment firms. Sure we may be looking at a potential blockbuster, news shattering conclusion to these trials but that is NOT what large investment firms look to put serious $$ into. They may take a small stake on a gamble but not until they hear some positive news, either publically or behind the scenes (yes, believe it or not this does occur), they will not be a big player in ACTC. Smaller retail investors such as ourselves WILL take that gamble, but unfortunately we "can't move the stock price with our comparatively small investment dollars. IMO.
IN it for the science NOT,the CEO!!
>>Yes, Advanced Cell is destine for "EPIC" PPS and volume. Soon it
will be trading at .45 due to Maxim's covering the company.
Yes, Lanza is headed for the Lobel rise in medicine. Will become a well remembered name in regenerative medicine.<<
Please continue with your posting of this positive view you have on this company!
There are many companies profitting millions that deal with "scrap". Some are powerful and rewarding to investors. Maybe you should research some RECYCLE companies and rethink that analogy! But I must say I believe we will be MORE pofitable than companies like the powerful Waste Management, which deal with your so called "SCRAP".
All good conversation regarding ACTC. I think what also we have to remember with the concern of the stock price is that many factors are entered into the reason for its low price and lack of movement. One of which I have seen quite often when investing in biotech/pharmaceutcals/medical etc., that during a "quiet" period, when lack of news is ocurring when waiting for a future event (ie results; approval etc.), the price can easily be moved down from the MMs as impatient investors or flippers are played by the MMs. It is also when most "noise" is found on message boards such as these, as to deter those that are not solid in their belief. Watching and allowing the daily fluctuation of the stock price to emotionally affect your original investment decision can only allow you to be submissive to these outside forces. Knowing and remembering WHY you were originally excited about your initial investment into this company will help during these "quiet " periods that ALL companies go through. That is why I always say "flipping" is not for me and I have invested in this company years ago, held what I bought from day 1 and added at low point opportunities. --- AND WILL continue so as we speak.
Why uplist now when a JV and positive news from such will ultimately provide enough fireworks to accomplish a more than successful uplist with little/less/no damage to price from split.
That is why I believe a successful end to phase one and entry into phase 2 of the trials is the significant and major next step. During phase 2, after review and public presentation of phase 1 accomplishments, the news should bring on potential JV partners which will provide necessary funding from a negotiated deal. Many and most JVs occur in Phase 2. This will eliminate the concern I assume all present and future possible investors have along with you when it comes to financing.
>>ACTC's patents are worthless unless the product works<<
And if/when the "product" works, the patents will be worth billions as the medical journals will be rewritten to allow for these new and successful "cures" for afflictions that were only "controlled" by inferior drugs compared to this NEW science. .06 per share?? IMO Definitely worth the "gamble" and no fetish for sinking ships will distract true investors. Flippers can do their thing, but being out or on the wrong side when earthshattering news hits the world, will be one hard pill to swallow.
Right! One's bitterness is an ugly characteristic. With that reflected in specific posts on this board, I personally see this as a positive on my investment in ACTC. Early investment into a speculative stock can be painfull and testing on an investment. Especially for one with no patience. But for one who sees a potential blockbuster conclusion at the end of the road, all other "noise" coming from "bitter" mouths can be quite amusing when one knows why such "noise" is being uttered. My view, and hopefully will be correct, is to invest early into such a potentially explosive outcome as to take advantage of the very low entry point. There are roadbumps to occur, as we know of, with the reverse split, SEC, court settlement etc. But as I see it, and this is just my opinion: The stock split IS already built into the stock price so I do not see any serious further decline when such occurs (we have already suffered the decline after anouncement of split); The SEC(again IMO) will be a slap on the hand and the speculation of outcome (stock price decline) will (is) worse than when the actual news is announced. Lawsuits and outcomes I also believe are factored into the share price at this time. For anyone who wants to "rant and rave " about this dismal investment in ACTC, please continue, as it makes me feel more confident in my investment.
IMO, it would be very hard to find a more potentially explosive stock at this time and at this price. With patience, HOLDING and adding along the way is the formula for future reward. Buying now early in trials, to me, is worth the gamble. Could this NOT be successfull? Sure there is always that possibility, but all investments are met with risk/reward. But the reward of an outcome of successfull trials will lead to unprecedented news coverage and euphoria in the medical arena, public opinion and WALL STREET. For that day I will wait. Try and time the market? Not for me.--- And remember, if this trial is given the green light by the FDA, it WILL validate the success potential of future trils for ACTC's other uses for various forms of stem cells. The future use of stem cells for presently incurable medical conditions would be mind boggling.
>>something miraculous happens<<
That is exactly how the world will percieve the success of this and fuure trials for stem cells -- and it will be seriously reflected in the stock price.
You're not alone. My first purchases years ago were in that range but I have since added much more in the pennies to average down and will continue to do so as funds allow. Will we see .28 again? So many possible events to occur that will affect that. Reverse split; next medical journal review; possible JV; change in CEO (one can only hope). But if more positive data is reported and SEC and lawsuits are settled, I don't see why this will not rise to near that number and more (IMO). If trial is successful, I think we can safely assume that it would surpass your number considerably. The overwhelming news coverage of such an event would benefit a sustained increase in price for some time.
Want to kick myself in the azz for not buying at .06 when I thought it would not see the .05s. Still not a bad price for adding to current holdings.
I know, this cheesy form of PR does nothing but cheapen the possible reputation and proffesionalism of this company to those on Wall Street, thus hurting the significance of these trials and outcome. Rabin is, IMO, a joke, and further PR antics of such will not intice big $$. This (PR antics) only serve the individual small investor than can be schmoozed into buying this stock. It does absolutely nothing to attract institutional investors who can move the stock at will. That is why RESULTS are the only thing that matters if we are to see a nice rise in the stock price. Legitamacy is what they are looking for before investing big $$. If and when that occurs the price will reflect that. It is antics like this and "shady" decisions (IMO) by Rabin that have discouraged me from investing more $$ at this time. I will wait for legitimate (not chessy PRs) journal reviews to throw larger cash in this company. -- although I must say I am very tempted to put a little more into this game at, what I believe to be, a worthwhile purchase price of .06.
Makes it easy to bring down the price by the self serving MMs.
Agree, if the science is validated with a successful conclusion to this trial, all future trials for medical improvement or cures for conditions that can be treated with similar stem cell implantation will be positively viewed by the investment communitity and we will be far and away higher than the .06 price per share we are at now. I have said before, that because of the future possible trials in the works, if this present trial is given the thumbs up by the FDA, IMO I do not see much of a sell off after the strong initial price rise on the news. Being successful in this trial will only validate the optimism for similar success on future trials for other diseases, thus a steady rise in price leading up to those trials. Present problems (SEC, lawsuit, outstanding shares) are minicule compared to the positve public and political (readily available government funding) reacton to the success of this science! HOLDING & ADDING.
Just finished reading the CC. Scary to think of the magnitude of financial success this company can accomplish if all goes according to plan. This company is definintely NOT a one hit wonder if current trials are successful. There is much more in the pipeline that was spoken about during this CC, and most likely MORE that is not "currently" spoken about or in their present plans in the future, if stems are proven as the "holy grail" of future medical cures. Mind boggling to think about the power held by ACTC and Dr Lanza if/when all doubt is wiped away and stem cell cures are proven successful. IMO Macular Degeneration will be an afterthought when future history reflects on what stem cells can cure. These animal trials are particulaly interesting to me as the results will be correlated to human cures with similar deseases (MS?). I can see the stock price holding its gain and more if/when this first trial is given the green light for commercialization by the FDA, since it will only reinforce investor's belief of success in future trials using stem cells as a cure for diseases now being tested in these canine and other animals trials. WOW! For postive awareness of this company to be achieved there is a definite need to eliminate all negatives as seen by Wall Street: # of outstanding shares; lawsuit; OTC trading; SEC problem; and former HEDGEFUND manager as CEO.
They're holding it down for some reason. Are they shorting or want a low price for purchase?
We're still an OTC stock that is highly speculative with low volume and no revenue. All the ingrediants for an easily manipulated stock price by the MMs (market makers) with deep pockets. At the present, we are at their mercy to which way they want the stock price to go. They can easily let it fly as they can hold it back. Right now it is obvious at this volume that they can/will/are holding it down. Only with large volume buy orders (normally from institutional investment firms) can this stranglehold be broken. Who knows it (buys) may come from the same firm that is holding down the price now. Major reason we need to be on a major exchange. MMs work there also but much harder fighting the big $$$.
Mind boggling numbers to say the least if true. At "only" 300 billion with just US and UK, why the concern of outstanding shares at 3 billion? That's a share price of $100/share WITHOUT considering a P/E ratio of say, conservativly 3 to 1. You can figure the rest of what the share price would be at whatever P/E ratio is calculated and what our individual take would be. BUT I'm sure there will be a reverse stock split though, as share price will have a hard time advancing without institutional investing and subsequent uplisting to a major exchange - way too much manipulation by MMs on the OTCC. BUT IF NUMBERS ARE POSSIBLE, intersting future for this company and our investment. Throw in a little "irrational exuberance" after numerous succssful trials and -- well, $$$$$$$$$$!!
I agree. With a HEDGEFUND manager as CEO, we will never be looked at as a bonafide legimate profit making entity. He is not and never will be a "business mind". Wall street will take this into consideration when evaluating the potential financial prosperity of this company and our stock price will reflect that as I believe it does now. Rabin MUST be replaced if and when these trials are successful. Throw in his unreporting of stock sales and you have every reason to question the personal agenda of this CEO - Is he working for his shareholders or for his own solely, self centered financial wealth, AT THE EXPENSE OF HIS SHAREHOLDERS.
I have said in prior posting that Rabin has done his job for what, at that time, was to get funding for getting trials started. Case closed! He has successfully accomplished that milestone and no one can downplay the importance of that. Being involved in Wall Street as (cough cough) a Hedgefund manager, this qualified him to accomplish such a necessary milestone (exchange placement, financing etc.). BUT he is NOT a businessman and has no experience, I know of, running a business or making deals for potential partnerships or buyouts. He has only proven so far, with the selling of free shares that he himself comes first before the shareholders - RED FLAG! This lack of respect for those whom he works for and pays his salary, and the affect that selling shares would have on the stock price, cannot be justified. His SALARY should be enough, at this time (infantcy of this company) to more than compensate him so far. Let me remind you that his salary is being paid from OUR investments in this company, as no sales have materialized as of now or in the near future. If his salary is low compared to other bios, IT SHOULD BE. We can only hope that we are successful, but at this time, that is all we have is "hope". We are betting on this being successful, but there is definitely a chance that it my NOT be. Still Mr. Rabin, successful trials or not, will keep his salary even if this is scam. (It wouldn't be the first one to happen on Wall Street.) We on the other hand are the ones "holding the bag". We, who have shares, ARE giving him the benefit of the doubt because we are "holding". Lets hope he appreciates us more than he has in the past!!
If anyone doesn't feel that our CEO is hurting the perception of this company by Wall Street, I respectfully disagree. He was HEDGEFUND Manager with NO experience running a company. Hedgefunds are notoriously known for shorting stocks. How does this qualify him to lead this company. It only questions his intentions, IMO.
I have said it before, I am in this for the science NOT the CEO. --And I would be "in it" for more ($$) if we had a reputable CEO.
Unfortunately during conference calls, I have learned NOT to expect earth/shattering news from the company. Mostly "overviews" of the ongoing proceedings and updates. I have been disappointed far to often waiting for substantial news during these conferences. This is an "open" trial, so if very good news from the trials is witnessed that could/should be revealed by the company in a press release and/or news article in prestigious medical journal. But knowing how "our boy" Rabin works its a crapshoot. -- Sorry had to use a gambling term when referring to our "CEO", who hopefully if trials are successful will no longer be our "CEO".
Only a matter of time. I have seen this many times when price lingers in a certain trading range for the longest of time while MMs do their thing during the time of no news. Easy to manipulate with low volume and speculative stocks in the bio field. Then out of the blue comes some positve news resulting in immediate and continuing rise in price as new investors and sellers are chasing the price for a buy. I'm more content to hold what I have and buy along the way leading up to "hopefully" that NEWS, then sit back and enjoy the ride. Nothing worse than being on the sidelines after selling the stock, only to watch it run away from you. BUT, "To each his own".
There goes the petty cash!!
Animal study?? Those that see this solely as an animal study and not a test run for eventual human studies are clearly shortsighted. Many obsevations and conclusions can be digested from these trials as pertaining to future usage on humans. Forget the rats, this is much more meaningful using dogs and pets. If successful on animals, sales on just animals will be substantial alone, knowing how owners feel about of their pets. But seriously, if anyone feels that this is the only reason for these trials, I would have to politely say NO!!!
It is nice to hear about entering the "pet" market for stem cell treatments and cures, as trials are less scrutinzed and usually shorter in length, along with the possibility of generating income prior to human acceptance. BUT the REAL excitement is that this is most definitetly, IMO, a practice run for human trials and the preview of evaluating its affects and progress as relating to future human acceptance and treatments.
Maybe a reverse split to uplist is not so bad. We get a "BUY" recommendation and it is absolutely no help to the stock price whatsoever. Can you say "easily manipulated"??
I agree , seeking alpha is nothing but one person's opinion - a blog. Unfortunately or forunately (depending on whichever position you have), it is being read by many investors looking to pick up a "new" opportunity.
WOW, Thanks for posting. Very nice rhetoric on advancement and progress in the stem cell field as a whole and brief mention of ACTC. It looks like our "BUY" analyst has done his research and is very excited about this field and its pospects. Very interesting that he has had a positive personal experience with a form of cell therapy. I recommend others to watch this. Maybe we should get Jason to be our CEO. I bet he wouldn't be selling any of his FREE shares and would be more concerned with his stockholders than our present CEO.
"connections?
If ddls says that REGN is the play, then it must be true!
I will have to spend more of my "ACTC" time and attention on RGEN.
>>Other company's like REGN are farther along.<<
OK!! -- Now THAT explains something?
